  • Mercurial client error 255 and HTTP error 404 when attempting to push large files to server

    - by coderunner
Problem: When attempting to push a changeset that contains 6 large files (.exe, .dmg, etc) to my remote server my client (MacHG) is reporting the error: "Error During Push. Mercurial reported error number 255: abort: HTTP Error 404: Not Found" What does the error even mean?! The only thing unique (that I can tell) about this commit is the size, type, and filenames of the files. How can I determine which exact file within the changeset is failing? How can I delete the corrupt changeset from the repository? Someone reported using "mq" extensions, but it looks overly complicated for what I'm trying to achieve. Background: I can push and pull the following: source files, directories, .class files and a .jar file to and from the server, using both MacHG and toirtoise HG. I successfully committed to my local repository the addition for the first time the 6 large .exe, .dmg etc installer files (about 130Mb total). In the following commit to my local repository, I removed ("untracked" / forget) the 6 files causing the problem, however the previous (failing) changeset is still queued to be pushed to the server (i.e. my local host is trying to push the "add" and then the "remove" to the remote server - and keep aligned with the "keep everything in history" philosophy of the source control system). I can commit .txt .java files etc using TortoiseHG from Windows PCs. I haven't actually testing committing or pushing the same large files using TortoiseHG. Please help! Setup: Client applications = MacHG v0.9.7 (SCM 1.5.4), and TortoiseHG v1.0.4 (SCM 1.5.4) Server = HTTPS, IIS7.5, Mercurial 1.5.4, Python 2.6.5, setup using these instructions: http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/mercurial-on-iis7/ In IIS7.5 the CGI handler is configured to handle ALL verbs (not just GET, POST and HEAD). My hgweb.cgi file on the server is as follows: #!/usr/bin/env python # # An example hgweb CGI script, edit as necessary # Path to repo or hgweb config to serve (see 'hg help hgweb') #config = "/path/to/repo/or/config" # Uncomment and adjust if Mercurial is not installed system-wide: #import sys; sys.path.insert(0, "/path/to/python/lib") # Uncomment to send python tracebacks to the browser if an error occurs: #import cgitb; cgitb.enable() from mercurial import demandimport; demandimport.enable() from mercurial.hgweb import hgweb, wsgicgi application = hgweb('C:\inetpub\wwwroot\hg\hgweb.config') wsgicgi.launch(application) My hgweb.config file on the server is as follows: [collections] C:\Mercurial Repositories = C:\Mercurial Repositories [web] baseurl = /hg allow_push = usernamea allow_push = usernameb

  • iOS static Framework crash when animating view

    - by user1439216
    I'm encountering a difficult to debug issue with a static library project when attempting to animate a view. It works fine when debugging (and even when debugging in the release configuration), but throws an error archived as a release: Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGSYS) Exception Codes: 0x00000000, 0x00000000 Crashed Thread: 0 Thread 0 name: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Thread 0 Crashed: 0 TestApp 0x000d04fc 0x91000 + 259324 1 UIKit 0x336d777e +[UIView(UIViewAnimationWithBlocks) animateWithDuration:animations:] + 42 2 TestApp 0x000d04de 0x91000 + 259294 3 TestApp 0x000d0678 0x91000 + 259704 4 Foundation 0x355f04f8 __57-[NSNotificationCenter addObserver:selector:name:object:]_block_invoke_0 + 12 5 CoreFoundation 0x35aae540 ___CFXNotificationPost_block_invoke_0 + 64 6 CoreFoundation 0x35a3a090 _CFXNotificationPost + 1400 7 Foundation 0x355643e4 -[NSNotificationCenter postNotificationName:object:userInfo:] + 60 8 UIKit 0x33599112 -[UIInputViewTransition postNotificationsForTransitionStart] + 846 9 UIKit 0x335988cc -[UIPeripheralHost(UIKitInternal) executeTransition:] + 880 10 UIKit 0x3351bb8c -[UIPeripheralHost(UIKitInternal) setInputViews:animationStyle:] + 304 11 UIKit 0x3351b260 -[UIPeripheralHost(UIKitInternal) _reloadInputViewsForResponder:] + 952 12 UIKit 0x3351ae54 -[UIResponder(UIResponderInputViewAdditions) reloadInputViews] + 160 13 UIKit 0x3351a990 -[UIResponder becomeFirstResponder] + 452 14 UIKit 0x336194a0 -[UITextInteractionAssistant setFirstResponderIfNecessary] + 168 15 UIKit 0x33618d6a -[UITextInteractionAssistant oneFingerTap:] + 1602 16 UIKit 0x33618630 _UIGestureRecognizerSendActions + 100 17 UIKit 0x335a8d5e -[UIGestureRecognizer _updateGestureWithEvent:] + 298 18 UIKit 0x337d9472 ___UIGestureRecognizerUpdate_block_invoke_0541 + 42 19 UIKit 0x33524f4e _UIGestureRecognizerApplyBlocksToArray + 170 20 UIKit 0x33523a9c _UIGestureRecognizerUpdate + 892 21 UIKit 0x335307e2 _UIGestureRecognizerUpdateGesturesFromSendEvent + 22 22 UIKit 0x33530620 -[UIWindow _sendGesturesForEvent:] + 768 23 UIKit 0x335301ee -[UIWindow sendEvent:] + 82 24 UIKit 0x3351668e -[UIApplication sendEvent:] + 350 25 UIKit 0x33515f34 _UIApplicationHandleEvent + 5820 26 GraphicsServices 0x376d5224 PurpleEventCallback + 876 27 CoreFoundation 0x35ab651c __CFRUNLOOP_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_SOURCE1_PERFORM_FUNCTION__ + 32 28 CoreFoundation 0x35ab64be __CFRunLoopDoSource1 + 134 29 CoreFoundation 0x35ab530c __CFRunLoopRun + 1364 30 CoreFoundation 0x35a3849e CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 294 31 CoreFoundation 0x35a38366 CFRunLoopRunInMode + 98 32 GraphicsServices 0x376d4432 GSEventRunModal + 130 33 UIKit 0x33544cce UIApplicationMain + 1074 Thread 0 crashed with ARM Thread State: r0: 0x0000004e r1: 0x000d04f8 r2: 0x338fed47 r3: 0x3f523340 r4: 0x00000000 r5: 0x2fe8da00 r6: 0x00000001 r7: 0x2fe8d9d0 r8: 0x3f54cad0 r9: 0x00000000 r10: 0x3fd00000 r11: 0x3f523310 ip: 0x3f497048 sp: 0x2fe8d988 lr: 0x33539a41 pc: 0x000d04fc cpsr: 0x60000010 To give some background info: The static library is part of an 'iOS fake-framework', built using the templates from here: https://github.com/kstenerud/iOS-Universal-Framework The framework presents a registration UI as a modal view on top of whatever the client application is doing at the time. It pushes these views using a handle to a UIViewController provided by the client application. It doesn't do anything special, but here's the animation code: -(void)keyboardWillShowNotification:(NSNotification *)notification { double animationDuration = [[[notification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey] doubleValue]; dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^(void) { [self animateViewsToState:kUMAnimationStateKeyboardVisible forIdiom:[UIDevice currentDevice].userInterfaceIdiom forDuration:animationDuration]; }); } -(void)animateViewsToState:(kUMAnimationState)state forIdiom:(UIUserInterfaceIdiom)idiom forDuration:(double)duration { float fieldOffset; if (idiom == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPhone) { if (state == kUMAnimationStateKeyboardVisible) { fieldOffset = -KEYBOARD_HEIGHT_IPHONE_PORTRAIT; } else { fieldOffset = KEYBOARD_HEIGHT_IPHONE_PORTRAIT; } } else { if (state == kUMAnimationStateKeyboardVisible) { fieldOffset = -IPAD_FIELD_OFFSET; } else { fieldOffset = IPAD_FIELD_OFFSET; } } [UIView animateWithDuration:duration animations:^(void) { mUserNameField.frame = CGRectOffset(mUserNameField.frame, 0, fieldOffset); mUserPasswordField.frame = CGRectOffset(mUserPasswordField.frame, 0, fieldOffset); }]; } Further printf-style debugging shows that it crashes whenever I do anything much with UIKit - specifically, it crashes when I replace -animateViewsToState with: if (0 == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPhone) { NSLog(@""); } and [[[[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"test" message:@"123" delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil] autorelease] show]; To me, this sounds like a linker problem, but I don't understand how such problems would only manifest here, and not beforehand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Application Architecture using WCF and System.AddIn

    - by Silverhalide
A little background -- we're designing an application that uses a client/server architecture consisting of: A server which loads server-side modules, potentially developed by other teams. A client which loads corresponding client-side modules (also potentially developed by those other teams; each client module corresponds with a server module). The client side communicates with the server side for general coordination, and as well as module specific tasks. (At this point, I think that means client talks to server, client modules talk to server modules.) Environment is .NET 3.5, and client side is WPF. The deployment scenario introduces the potential to upgrade the server, any server-side module, the client, and any client-side module independently. However, being able to "work" using mismatched versions is required. I'm therefore concerned about versioning issues. My thinking so far: A Windows Service for the server. Using System.AddIn for the server to load and communicate with the server modules will give us the greatest flexibility in terms of version compatability between server and server modules. The server and each server module vend WCF services for communication to the client side; communication between the server and a server module, or between two server modules use the AddIn contracts. (One advantage of this is that a module can expose a different interface within the server and outside it.) Similarly, the client uses System.AddIn to find, load, and communicate with the client modules. Client communications with client modules is via the AddIn interface; communications from the client and from client modules to the server side are via WCF. For maximum resilience, each module will run in a separate app-domain. In general, the system has modest performance requirements, so marshalling and crossing process boundaries is not expected to be a performance concern. (Performance requirement is basically summed up by: don't get in the way of the other parts of the system not described here.) My questions are around the idea of having two different communication and versioning models to work with which will be an added burden on our developers. System.AddIn seems quite powerful, but also a little unwieldly. (I'm also unsure of Microsoft's commitment to it in the future.) On the other hand, I'm not thrilled with WCF's versioning capabilities. I have a feeling that it would be possible to implement the System.AddIn view/adapter/contract system within WCF, but being fairly new to both technologies, I would have no idea of where to start. So... Am I on the right track here? Am I doing this the hard way? Are there gotchas I need to be aware of on this road? Thanks.

  • Does COM interop respect .NET AppDomain boundaries for assembly loading?

    - by Xiaofu
Here's the core problem: I have a .NET application that is using COM interop in a separate AppDomain. The COM stuff seems to be loading assemblies back into the default domain, rather than the AppDomain from which the COM stuff is being called. What I want to know is: is this expected behaviour, or am I doing something wrong to cause these COM related assemblies to be loaded in the wrong AppDomain? Please see a more detailed description of the situation below... The application consists of 3 assemblies: - the main EXE, the entry point of the application. - common.dll, containing just an interface IController (in the IPlugin style) - controller.dll, containing a Controller class that implements IController and MarshalByRefObject. This class does all the work and uses COM interop to interact with another application. The relevant part of the main EXE looks like this: AppDomain controller_domain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("Controller Domain"); IController c = (IController)controller_domain.CreateInstanceFromAndUnwrap("controller.dll", "MyNamespace.Controller"); result = c.Run(); AppDomain.Unload(controller_domain); The common.dll only contains these 2 things: public enum ControllerRunResult{FatalError, Finished, NonFatalError, NotRun} public interface IController { ControllerRunResult Run(); } And the controller.dll contains this class (which also calls the COM interop stuff): public class Controller: IController, MarshalByRefObject When first running the application, Assembly.GetAssemblies() looks as expected, with common.dll being loaded in both AppDomains, and controller.dll only being loaded into the controller domain. After calling c.Run() however I see that assemblies related to the COM interop stuff have been loaded into the default AppDomain, and NOT in the AppDomain from which the COM interop is taking place. Why might this be occurring? And if you're interested, here's a bit of background: Originally this was a 1 AppDomain application. The COM stuff it interfaces with is a server API which is not stable over long periods of use. When a COMException (with no useful diagnostic information as to its cause) occurs from the COM stuff, the entire application has to restarted before the COM connection will work again. Simply reconnecting to the COM app server results in immediate COM exceptions again. To cope with this I have tried to move the COM interop stuff into a seperate AppDomain so that when the mystery COMExceptions occur I can unload the AppDomain in which it occurs, create a new one and start again, all without having to manually restart the application. That was the theory anyway...

  • Session Id in url and/or cookie? [closed]

    - by Jacco
Most people advice against rewriting every (internal) url to include the sessionId (both GET and POST). The standard argument against it seems to be:   If an attacker gets hold of the sessionId, they can hijack the session.   With the sessionId in the url, it easily leaks to the attacker (by referer etc.) But what if you put the sessionId in both an (encrypted) cookie and the url. if the sessionId in either the cookie or the url is missing or if they do not match, decline the request. Let's pretend the website in question is free of xss holes, the cookie encryption is strong enough, etc. etc. Then what is the increased risk of rewriting every url to include the sessionId? UPDATE: @Casper That is a very good point. so up to now there are 2 reasons: bad for search engines / SEO if used in public part of the website can cause trouble when users post an url with a session Id on a forum, send it trough email or bookmark the page apart from the:   It increases the security risk, but it is not clear what the increased risk is. some background info: I've a website that offers blog-like service to travellers. I cannot be sure cookies work nor can I require cookies to work. Most computers in internet cafes are old and not (even close to) up-to-date. The user has no control over them and the connection can be very unreliable for some more 'off the beaten path' locations. Binding the session to an IP-address is not possible, some places use load-balancing proxies with multiple IP addresses. (and from China there is The Great Firewall). Upon receiving the first cookie back, I flag cookies as mandatory. However, if the cookie was flagged as mandatory but not there, I ask for their password once more, knowing their session from the url. (Also cookies have a 1 time token in them, but that's not the point of this question). UPDATE 2: The conclusion seems to be that there are no extra *security* issues when you expose you session id trough the URL while also keeping a copy of the session id in an encrypted cookie. Do not hesitate to add additional information about any possible security implications

  • MapItemsControls not updating Silverlight Bing Map

    - by Matt
    I'm using a MapItemsControl to control my Pushpin items within my Bing silverlight map. Right on the page load, I add a new pin programatically, and the pin shows up on the map. However I've now taken it further and I'm adding pins to my datasource via a click on the map. The new pins add to my datasource, but do not show up on the map. Do I need to rebind my datasource to my map control or somehow refresh the datasource? Here's some code <UserControl.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="PinData"> <m:Pushpin Location="{Binding Location}" PositionOrigin="BottomCenter" Width="Auto" Height="Auto" Cursor="Hand"> <m:Pushpin.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Grid> <myTestApp:MasterPin DataContext="{Binding}"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </m:Pushpin.Template> </m:Pushpin> </DataTemplate> </UserControl.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White"> <m:Map x:Name="myMap" CredentialsProvider="" Mode="Road" ScaleVisibility="Collapsed" > <m:MapItemsControl x:Name="mapItems" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource PinData}"/> </m:Map> </Grid> public partial class Map : UserControl { private List< BasePin > dataSource = new List< BasePin >(); public Map() { InitializeComponent(); _Initialize(); } private void _Initialize() { //this part works and adds a pin to the map dataSource.Add( new BaseSite( -33.881532, 18.440208 ) ); myMap.MouseClick += Map_MouseClick; mapItems.ItemsSource = dataSource; } public void Map_MouseClick(object sender, MapMouseEventArgs e)) { BasePin pin = new BasePin(); pin.Location = myMap.ViewportPointToLocation( e.ViewportPoint ); dataSource.Add( pin ); } }

  • 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get' error using SQLAlchemy

    - by Az
I've been trying to map an object to a database using SQLAlchemy but have run into a snag. Version info if handy: [OS: Mac OSX 10.5.8 | Python: 2.6.4 | SQLAlchemy: 0.5.8] The class I'm going to map: class Student(object): def __init__(self, name, id): self.id = id self.name = name self.preferences = collections.defaultdict(set) self.allocated_project = None self.allocated_rank = 0 def __repr__(self): return str(self) def __str__(self): return "%s %s" %(self.id, self.name) Background: Now, I've got a function that reads in the necessary information from a text database into these objects. The function more or less works and I can easily access the information from the objects. Before the SQLAlchemy code runs, the function will read in the necessary info and store it into the Class. There is a dictionary called students which stores this as such: students = {} students[id] = Student(<all the info from the various "reader" functions>) Afterwards, there is an "allocation" algorithm that will allocate projects to student. It does that well enough. The allocated_project remains as None if a student is unsuccessful in getting a project. SQLAlchemy bit: So after all this happens, I'd like to map my object to a database table. Using the documentation, I've used the following code to only map certain bits. I also begin to create a Session. from sqlalchemy import * from sqlalchemy.orm import * engine = create_engine('sqlite:///:memory:', echo=False) metadata = MetaData() students_table = Table('studs', metadata, Column('id', Integer, primary_key=True), Column('name', String) ) metadata.create_all(engine) mapper(Student, students_table) Session = sessionmaker(bind=engine) sesh = Session() Now after that, I was curious to see if I could print out all the students from my students dictionary. for student in students.itervalues(): print student What do I get but an error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "~/FYP_Tests/FYP_Tests.py", line 140, in <module> print student File "/~FYP_Tests/Parties.py", line 30, in __str__ return "%s %s" %(self.id, self.name) File "/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/attributes.py", line 158, in __get__ return self.impl.get(instance_state(instance), instance_dict(instance)) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get' I'm at a loss as to how to resolve this issue, if it is an issue. If more information is required, please ask and I will provide it.

  • Secondary monitor bug: a problem in WPF or in the graphics driver?

    - by emddudley
I have discovered a strange bug with my WPF application and I am trying to determine whether it is a problem with WPF or my graphics driver so that I can report it to the appropriate company. I have a Quadro FX 1700 with the latest drivers (197.54) on a Windows XP system, running a .NET 3.5 SP1 application. I have dual monitors, and when I maximize then minimize a child window of the main window on my primary monitor, the child window gets drawn on the secondary monitor as well. It appears in both places. I made a sample application (code is below) which induces this behavior. Start the application and ensure the main window is on your primary monitor. Double-click the main window. A green child window should appear. Click the green child window to maximize. Click the green child window to minimize. Can anyone else reproduce this problem? On my system the green child restores, but then it's drawn on both my primary and secondary monitors, rather than just the primary monitor. App.xaml <Application xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="DualMonitorBug.App" StartupUri="Shell.xaml" /> App.xaml.cs using System.Windows; namespace DualMonitorBug { public partial class App : Application { } } Shell.xaml <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="DualMonitorBug.Shell" Title="Shell" Height="480" Width="640" MouseDoubleClick="ShowDialog" /> Shell.xaml.cs using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Input; namespace DualMonitorBug { public partial class Shell : Window { public Shell() { InitializeComponent(); } private void ShowDialog(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { DialogWindow dialog = new DialogWindow(); dialog.Owner = this; dialog.Show(); } } } DialogWindow.xaml <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="DualMonitorBug.DialogWindow" Title="Dialog Window" Height="240" Width="320" AllowsTransparency="True" Background="Green" MouseLeftButtonDown="ShowHideDialog" WindowStyle="None" /> DialogWindow.xaml.cs using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Input; namespace DualMonitorBug { public partial class DialogWindow : Window { public DialogWindow() { InitializeComponent(); } private void ShowHideDialog(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { this.WindowState = (this.WindowState == WindowState.Normal) ? • Problem with first Windows 7 gadget getting javascript to run

  • Memory leak on CollectionView.View.Refresh

    - by Dabblernl
I have defined my binding thus: <TreeView ItemsSource="{Binding UsersView.View}" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource MyDataTemplate}" /> The CollectionViewSource is defined thus: private ObservableCollection<UserData> users; public CollectionViewSource UsersView{get;set;} UsersView=new CollectionViewSource{Source=users}; UsersView.SortDescriptions.Add( new SortDescription("IsLoggedOn",ListSortDirection.Descending); UsersView.SortDescriptions.Add( new SortDescription("Username",ListSortDirection.Ascending); So far, so good, this works as expected: The view shows first the users that are logged on in alphabetical order, then the ones that are not. However, the IsLoggedIn property of the UserData is updated every few seconds by a backgroundworker thread and then the code calls: UsersView.View.Refresh(); on the UI thread. Again this works as expected: users that log on are moved from the bottom of the view to the top and vice versa. However: Every time I call the Refresh method on the view the application hoards 3,5MB of extra memory, which is only released after application shutdown (or after an OutOfMemoryException...) I did some research and below is a list of fixes that did NOT work: The UserData class implements INotifyPropertyChanged Changing the underlying users collection does not make any difference at all: any IENumerable<UserData as a source for the CollectionViewSource causes the problem. -Changing the ColletionViewSource to a List<UserData (and refreshing the binding) or inheriting from ObservableCollection to get access to the underlying Items collection to sort that in place does not work. I am out of ideas! Help? EDIT: I found it: The Resource MyDataTemplate contains a Label that is bound to a UserData object to show one of its properties, the UserData objects being handed down by the TreeView's ItemsSource. The Label has a ContextMenu defined thus: <ContextMenu Background="Transparent" Width="325" Opacity=".8" HasDropShadow="True"> <PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData IsReadOnly="True" > <PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData.DataContext> <Binding Path="."/> </PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData.DataContext> </PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData> </ContextMenu> The MyUserData object is a UserControl that shows All properties of the UserData object. In this way the user first only sees one piece of data of a user and on a right click sees all of it. When I remove the MyUserData UserControl from the DataTemplate the memory leak disappears! How can I still implement the behaviour as specified above?

I have an interface: public abstract class Authorizer<T> where T : RequiresAuthorization { public AuthorizationStatus Authorize(T record) { // Perform authorization specific stuff // and then hand off to an abstract method to handle T-specific stuff // that should happen when authorization is successful } } Then, I have a bunch of different classes which all implement RequiresAuthorization, and correspondingly, an Authorizer<T> for each of them (each business object in my domain requires different logic to execute once the record has been authorized). I'm also using a UnityContainer, in which I register various Authorizer<T>'s. I then have some code as follows to find the right record out of the database and authorize it: void Authorize(RequiresAuthorization item) { var dbItem = ChildContainer.Resolve<IAuthorizationRepository>() .RetrieveRequiresAuthorizationById(item.Id); var authorizerType = type.GetType(String.Format("Foo.Authorizer`1[[{0}]], Foo", dbItem.GetType().AssemblyQualifiedName)); dynamic authorizer = ChildContainer.Resolve(type) as dynamic; authorizer.Authorize(dbItem); } Basically, I'm using the Id on the object to retrieve it out of the database. In the background NHibernate takes care of figuring out what type of RequiresAuthorization it is. I then want to find the right Authorizer for it (I don't know at compile time what implementation of Authorizer<T> I need, so I've got a little bit of reflection to get the fully qualified type). To accomplish this, I use the non-generic overload of UnityContainer's Resolve method to look up the correct authorizer from configuration. Finally, I want to call Authorize on the authorizer, passing through the object I've gotten back from NHibernate. Now, for the problem: In Beta2 of VS2010 the above code works perfectly. On RC and RTM, as soon as I make the Authorize() call, I get a RuntimeBinderException saying "The best overloaded method match for 'Foo.Authorizer<Bar>.Authorize(Bar)' has some invalid arguments". When I inspect the authorizer in the debugger, it's the correct type. When I call GetType().GetMethods() on it, I can see the Authorize method which takes a Bar. If I do GetType() on dbItem it is a Bar. Because this worked in Beta2 and not in RC, I assumed it was a regression (it seems like it should work) and I delayed sorting it out until after I'd had a chance to test it on the RTM version of C# 4.0. Now I've done that and the problem still persists. Does anybody have any suggestions to make this work? Thanks Terence

  • UIViewAnimation done by a UIViewController belonging to a UINavigationController?

    - by RickiG
Hi I have an UINavigationController which the user navigates with. When pushing a specific UIViewController onto the navigation stack, a "settings" button appear in the navigationBar. When the user clicks this button I would like to flip the current view/controller, i.e. everything on screen, including the navigationBar, over to a settings view. So I have a SettingsViewController which I would like to flip to from my CurrentViewController that lives on a navigationController stack. I get all kinds of strange behavior trying to do this, the UIViews belonging to the SettingsViewController will start to animate, sliding into place, the navigationButtons moves around, nothing acts as I would think. -(void)settingsHandler { SettingViewController *settingsView = [[SettingViewController alloc] init]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight forView:self.navigationController.view cache:YES]; [self.navigationController.view addSubview:settingsView.view]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } The above results in the views flipping correctly, but the subviews of the SettingsViewController are all positioned in (0, 0) and after the transition, they 'snap' into place? Is it because I instantiate and add my subviews in viewDidLoad, like this? - (void)viewDidLoad { UIImageView *imageBg = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 460.0f)]; [imageBg setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"background.png"]]; [self.view addSubview:imageBg]; [imageBg release]; SettingsSubview *switchView = [[SettingsSubview alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 460.0f)]; [self.view addSubview:switchView]; [switchView release]; [super viewDidLoad]; } 1: How should I correctly do the "flip" transition, from within the UIViewController in the UINavigationController, to a new UIViewController and subsequently from the new UIViewController and back to the "original" UIViewController residing on the UINavigationControllers stack? 2: Should I use a different approach, than the "viewDidLoad" method, when instantiating and adding subviews to a UIViewController? -question 2 is more of a "best practice" thing. I have seen different ways of doing it and I am having trouble either finding or understanding the life-cycle documentation and the different threads and posts on the subject. I am missing the "best practice" examples. Thank You very much for any help given:)

  • Log4r : logger inheritance, yaml configuration, alternatives ?

    - by devlearn
Hello, I'm pretty new to ruby environments and I was looking for a nice logging framework to use it my ruby and rails applications. In my previous experiences I have successfully used log4j and log4p (the perl port) and was expecting the same level of usability (and maturity) with log4r. However I must say that there are a number of things that are not clear at all in the log4r framework. 1 Logger Inheritance The logger inheritance does not seem to be managed at all ! If I declare a logger named 'myapp' and then try to get a logger name 'myapp::engine', the lookup will end with a NameError. I would expect that the framework returns the root logger according to the naming scheme and to use the 'myapp' logger. Q1 : Of course I can work around this and manage the names by myself with a lookup method, however is there a cleaner way to do this without any extra coding ? 2 YAML configuration Second thing that confuses me is the yaml configuration. On the log4r site there are literally no information about this system, the doc links forward to missing pages, so all the info I can find about is contained in the examples directory of the gem. I was pretty confused with the fact that the yaml configuration must contain the pre_config section, and that I need to define my own levels. If I remove the pre_config secion, or replace all the “custom” levels by the standard ones ( debug, info, warn, fatal ) , the example will throw the following error : log4r/yamlconfigurator.rb:68:in `decode_yaml': Log level must be in 0..7 (ArgumentError) So there seems to be no way of using a simple file where we only declare the loggers and appenders for the framework. Q2 : I realy think that I missed something and that must be a way of providing a simple yaml conf file. Do you have any examples of such an usage ? 3 Variables substitution in XML file Q3 : The Yaml configuration system seems to provide such a feature however I was unable to find a similar feature with XML files. Any ideas ? 4 Alternatives ? I must say that I'm very disappointed by the feature level and the maturity of log4r compared to the log4j and other log4j ports. I run into this framework with a solid background of logging APIs in other languages and find myself working around in all kinds just to make 'basic things' running in a “real world application”. By that I mean a complex application composed of several gems, console/scripting apps, and a rails web front end where the configuration must be mutualized and where we make intensive usage of namespaces and inheritance. I've run several searches in order to find something more suitable or mature, but did not find anything similar. Q4 : Do you guys know any (serious) alternatives to log4r framework that could be used in a enterprise class app ? Thanks reading all of this ! I'd really appreciate any pointers, Kind Regards,

  • Asyncronus javascript rendering widgets

    - by Joe J
Hey all, I'm creating a javascript widget so third partys (web designers) can post a link on their website and it will render the widget on their site. Currently, I'm doing this with just a script link tag: <div class="some_random_div_in_html_body"> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://remotehost.com/link/to/widget.js'></script> </div> However, this has the side-effect of slowing down a thrid party's website render times of the page if my site is under a load. Therefore, I'd like the third party website to request the widget link from my site asyncronously and then render it on their site when the widget link loads completely. The Google Analytics javascript snippet seems to have a nice bit of asyncronous code that does a nice async request to model off of, but I'm wondering if I can modify it so that it will render content on the third party's site. Using the example below, I want the content of http://mysite.com/link/to/widget.js to render something in the "message" id field. <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE>Third Party Site</TITLE><STYLE>#message { background-color: #eee; } </STYLE></HEAD> <BODY> <div id="message">asdf</div> <script type="text/javascript"> (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = 'http://mysite.com/link/to/widget.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); </script> </BODY> </HTML> I don't know if what I'm trying to do constitutes Cross Site Scripting (still a bit vague on that concept) but am wondering if what I'm trying to do is possible. Or if anyone has any other approaches to creating javascript widgets effectively, I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks for reading this. Joe

  • surfaceview + glsurfaceview + framelayout

    - by pohtzeyun
Hi, I'm new at this (java and opengl) so please bear with me if the answer to the question is simple. :) I'm trying to get a camera preview screen with the ability to display 3d objects simultaneously. Having gone through the samples at the api demos, I thought combining the code for the the examples at the api demo would suffice. But somehow its not working. The forces me to shut down upon startup and the error is mentioned as null pointer exception. Could someone share with me where did I go wrong and how to proceed from there. How I did the combination for the code is as shown below: myoverview.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <android.opengl.GLSurfaceView android:id="@+id/cubes" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"/> <SurfaceView android:id="@+id/camera" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"/> </FrameLayout> myoverview.java import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.SurfaceView; import android.view.Window; public class MyOverView extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // Hide the window title. requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); // camera view as the background SurfaceView cameraView = (SurfaceView) findViewById(R.id.camera); cameraView = new CameraView(this); // visual of both cubes GLSurfaceView cubesView = (GLSurfaceView) findViewById(R.id.cubes); cubesView = new GLSurfaceView(this); cubesView.setRenderer(new CubeRenderer(false)); // set view setContentView(R.layout.myoverview); } } GLSurfaceView.java import android.content.Context; class GLSurfaceView extends android.opengl.GLSurfaceView { public GLSurfaceView(Context context) { super(context); } } NOTE : I didnt list the rest of the files as they are just copies of the api demos. The cameraView refers to the camerapreview.java example and the CubeRenderer refers to the CubeRenderer.java and Cube.java example. Any help would be appreciated as I've been stuck at this for a couple of days :p Thanks Sorry, didnt realise that the coding was out of place due to formatting mistakes. :p

I have a problem with rendering my html page by the same browsers in different OS. There are 3 spans and position of each span is corrected through css(position:relative). But I have found out that the page that looks correct in firefox under Linux, shows not right at the same firefox(3.5.7) under Windows OS. • android spinning image

    - by user270811
hi, i am trying to create two spinning wheels, as in pulleys, so everytime the attached rope moves, the two pulleys will rotate. i have tried two approaches: 1) use Matrix.postRotate within the onDraw() method of the View class, which calls the following: private void drawSpinningWheel(Canvas canvas) { try { canvas.save(); Bitmap bitmapOrg = null; int iDrawable = R.drawable.spinning_button; bitmapOrg = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(), iDrawable); if(bitmapOrg != null) { int width = bitmapOrg.getWidth(); int height = bitmapOrg.getHeight(); int newWidth = 24; int newHeight = 24; // calculate the scale - in this case = 0.4f float scaleWidth = ((float) newWidth) / width; float scaleHeight = ((float) newHeight) / height; // createa matrix for the manipulation Matrix matrix = new Matrix(); // resize the bit map matrix.postScale(scaleWidth, scaleHeight); matrix.postRotate((float) mDegrees++); Bitmap resizedBitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(bitmapOrg, 0, 0, width, height, matrix, true); canvas.drawBitmap(resizedBitmap, matrix, null); } canvas.restore(); } catch(Exception e) { Log.e(TAG + "drawSpinningWheel", e.getMessage()); } } but it seems like the image not only spins but rotates around another axis 2) use SurfaceView and a separate thread, in the run() call this: private void doDraw(Canvas canvas) { // Draw the background image. Operations on the Canvas accumulate // so this is like clearing the screen. canvas.drawBitmap(mBackgroundImage, 0, 0, null); int yTop = mCanvasHeight - ((int) mY + mSpinningWheelImageHeight / 2); int xLeft = (int) mX - mSpinningWheelImageWidth / 2; ... // Draw the ship with its current rotation canvas.save(); canvas.rotate((float) mHeading++, (float) mX, mCanvasHeight - (float) mY); mSpinningWheelImage.setBounds(xLeft, yTop, xLeft + mSpinningWheelImageWidth, yTop + mSpinningWheelImageHeight); mSpinningWheelImage.draw(canvas); canvas.restore(); } i get the spinning to work but i can't add another spinning wheel. i even tried to create another thread for the second spinning wheel, only one shows up. can someone point me in the right direction? thanks.

  • Delphi - restore actual row in DBGrid

    - by durumdara
Hi! D6 prof. Formerly we used DBISAM and DBISAMTable. That handle the RecNo, and it is working good with modifications (Delete, edit, etc). Now we replaced with ElevateDB, that don't handle RecNo, and many times we use Queries, not Tables. Query must reopen to see the modifications. But if we Reopen the Query, we need to repositioning to the last record. Locate isn't enough, because Grid is show it in another Row. This is very disturbing thing, because after the modification record is moving into another row, you hard to follow it, and users hate this. We found this code: function TBaseDBGrid.GetActRow: integer; begin Result := -1 + Row; end; procedure TBasepDBGrid.SetActRow(aRow: integer); var bm : TBookMark; begin if IsDataSourceValid(DataSource) then with DataSource.DataSet do begin bm := GetBookmark; DisableControls; try MoveBy(-aRow); MoveBy(aRow); //GotoBookmark(bm); finally FreebookMark(bm); EnableControls; end; end; end; The original example is uses moveby. This working good with Queries, because we cannot see that Query reopened in the background, the visual control is not changed the row position. But when we have EDBTable, or Live/Sensitive Query, the MoveBy is dangerous to use, because if somebody delete or append a new row, we can relocate into wrong record. Then I tried to use the BookMark (see remark). But this technique isn't working, because it is show the record in another Row position... So the question: how to force both the row position and record in DBGrid? Or what kind of DBGrid can relocate to the record/row after the underlying DataSet refreshed? I search for user friendly solution, I understand them, because I tried to use this jump-across DBGrid, and very bad to use, because my eyes are getting out when try to find the original record after update... :-( Thanks for your every help, link, info: dd

  • Android GridView with ads below

    - by ktambascio
Hi, I'm trying to integrate ads (admob) into my Android app. It's mostly working, except for one issue with the layout. My layout consists of: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.example.photos"> <LinearLayout android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/status_layout"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/cardStatus" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/hello" android:id="@+id/cardStatusText" /> </LinearLayout> <GridView android:id="@+id/imageGridView" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:padding="10dp" android:verticalSpacing="10dp" android:horizontalSpacing="10dp" android:numColumns="auto_fit" android:columnWidth="100dp" android:stretchMode="columnWidth" android:gravity="center" android:layout_below="@id/status_layout" /> <!-- Place an AdMob ad at the bottom of the screen. --> <!-- It has white text on a black background. --> <!-- The description of the surrounding context is 'Android game'. --> <com.admob.android.ads.AdView android:id="@+id/ad" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" app:backgroundColor="#000000" app:primaryTextColor="#FFFFFF" app:secondaryTextColor="#CCCCCC" app:keywords="Android Photo" /> </RelativeLayout> The ads are shown at the bottom of the screen, just as I want. However, they seem to be overlayed or drawn on top of the bottom portion of the grid view. I would like the gridview to be shorter, so that the ad can fill the bottom portion of the screen, and not hide part of the gridview. The problem is most annoying when you scroll all the way to the bottom of the gridview, and you still cannot fully see the last row items in the grid due to the ad. I'm not sure if this is the standard way that AdMob ads work. If this is the case, adding some padding to the bottom of the grid (if that's possible) would due the trick. That way the user can scroll a bit further, and see the last row in addition to the ad. I just switched from using LinearLayout to RelativeLayout after reading some similar issues with ListViews. Now my ad is along the bottom instead of above the grid, so I'm getting closer. Thoughts? -Kevin

  • Python - calculate multinomial probability density functions on large dataset?

    - by Seafoid
Hi, I originally intended to use MATLAB to tackle this problem but the inbuilt functions has limitations that do not suit my goal. The same limitation occurs in NumPy. I have two tab-delimited files. The first is a file showing amino acid residue, frequency and count for an in-house database of protein structures, i.e. A 0.25 1 S 0.25 1 T 0.25 1 P 0.25 1 The second file consists of quadruplets of amino acids and the number of times they occur, i.e. ASTP 1 Note, there are 8,000 such quadruplets. Based on the background frequency of occurence of each amino acid and the count of quadruplets, I aim to calculate the multinomial probability density function for each quadruplet and subsequently use it as the expected value in a maximum likelihood calculation. The multinomial distribution is as follows: f(x|n, p) = n!/(x1!*x2!*...*xk!)*((p1^x1)*(p2^x2)*...*(pk^xk)) where x is the number of each of k outcomes in n trials with fixed probabilities p. n is 4 four in all cases in my calculation. I have created three functions to calculate this distribution. # functions for multinomial distribution def expected_quadruplets(x, y): expected = x*y return expected # calculates the probabilities of occurence raised to the number of occurrences def prod_prob(p1, a, p2, b, p3, c, p4, d): prob_prod = (pow(p1, a))*(pow(p2, b))*(pow(p3, c))*(pow(p4, d)) return prob_prod # factorial() and multinomial_coefficient() work in tandem to calculate C, the multinomial coefficient def factorial(n): if n <= 1: return 1 return n*factorial(n-1) def multinomial_coefficient(a, b, c, d): n = 24.0 multi_coeff = (n/(factorial(a) * factorial(b) * factorial(c) * factorial(d))) return multi_coeff The problem is how best to structure the data in order to tackle the calculation most efficiently, in a manner that I can read (you guys write some cryptic code :-)) and that will not create an overflow or runtime error. To data my data is represented as nested lists. amino_acids = [['A', '0.25', '1'], ['S', '0.25', '1'], ['T', '0.25', '1'], ['P', '0.25', '1']] quadruplets = [['ASTP', '1']] I initially intended calling these functions within a nested for loop but this resulted in runtime errors or overfloe errors. I know that I can reset the recursion limit but I would rather do this more elegantly. I had the following: for i in quadruplets: quad = i[0].split(' ') for j in amino_acids: for k in quadruplets: for v in k: if j[0] == v: multinomial_coefficient(int(j[2]), int(j[2]), int(j[2]), int(j[2])) I haven'te really gotten to how to incorporate the other functions yet. I think that my current nested list arrangement is sub optimal. I wish to compare the each letter within the string 'ASTP' with the first component of each sub list in amino_acids. Where a match exists, I wish to pass the appropriate numeric values to the functions using indices. Is their a better way? Can I append the appropriate numbers for each amino acid and quadruplet to a temporary data structure within a loop, pass this to the functions and clear it for the next iteration? Thanks, S :-)

  • Python performance: iteration and operations on nested lists

    - by J.J.
Problem Hey folks. I'm looking for some advice on python performance. Some background on my problem: Given: A mesh of nodes of size (x,y) each with a value (0...255) starting at 0 A list of N input coordinates each at a specified location within the range (0...x, 0...y) Increment the value of the node at the input coordinate and the node's neighbors within range Z up to a maximum of 255. Neighbors beyond the mesh edge are ignored. (No wrapping) BASE CASE: A mesh of size 1024x1024 nodes, with 400 input coordinates and a range Z of 75 nodes. Processing should be O(x*y*Z*N). I expect x, y and Z to remain roughly around the values in the base case, but the number of input coordinates N could increase up to 100,000. My goal is to minimize processing time. Current results I have 2 current implementations: f1, f2 Running speed on my 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with Python 2.6.1: f1: 2.9s f2: 1.8s f1 is the initial naive implementation: three nested for loops. f2 is replaces the inner for loop with a list comprehension. Code is included below for your perusal. Question How can I further reduce the processing time? I'd prefer sub-1.0s for the test parameters. Please, keep the recommendations to native Python. I know I can move to a third-party package such as numpy, but I'm trying to avoid any third party packages. Also, I've generated random input coordinates, and simplified the definition of the node value updates to keep our discussion simple. The specifics have to change slightly and are outside the scope of my question. thanks much! f1 is the initial naive implementation: three nested for loops. 2.9s def f1(x,y,n,z): rows = [] for i in range(x): rows.append([0 for i in xrange(y)]) for i in range(n): inputX, inputY = (int(x*random.random()), int(y*random.random())) topleft = (inputX - z, inputY - z) for i in xrange(max(0, topleft[0]), min(topleft[0]+(z*2), x)): for j in xrange(max(0, topleft[1]), min(topleft[1]+(z*2), y)): if rows[i][j] <= 255: rows[i][j] += 1 f2 is replaces the inner for loop with a list comprehension. 1.8s def f2(x,y,n,z): rows = [] for i in range(x): rows.append([0 for i in xrange(y)]) for i in range(n): inputX, inputY = (int(x*random.random()), int(y*random.random())) topleft = (inputX - z, inputY - z) for i in xrange(max(0, topleft[0]), min(topleft[0]+(z*2), x)): l = max(0, topleft[1]) r = min(topleft[1]+(z*2), y) rows[i][l:r] = [j+1 for j in rows[i][l:r] if j < 255]

  • How can I pass a reference to another control as an IValueConverter parameter?

    - by MKing
I am binding some business objects to a WPF ItemsControl. They are displayed using a custom IValueConverter implementation used to produce the Geometry for a Path object in the DataTemplate as shown here: <ItemsControl x:Name="Display" Background="White" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" ItemsSource="{Binding ElementName=ViewPlaneSelector, Path=SelectedItem.VisibleElements}" > <ItemsControl.Resources> <!-- This object is just used to get around the fact that ConverterParameter can't be a binding directly (it's not a DependencyProperty on a DependencyObject --> <this:GeometryConverterData x:Key="ConverterParameter2" Plane="{Binding ElementName=ViewPlaneSelector, Path=SelectedItem}" /> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type o:SlenderMember}"> <Path Stroke="Blue" StrokeThickness=".5" Data='{Binding Converter={StaticResource SlenderMemberConverter}, ConverterParameter={StaticResource ConverterParameter2}}' ToolTip="{Binding AsString}"> </Path> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.Resources> </ItemsControl> Note that the items for the ItemsControl are drawn from the ViewPlaneSelector (a ComboBox) SelectedItem.VisibleElements property. I need that same ViewPlaneSelector.SelectedItem in the SlenderMemberConverter to figure out how to display this element. I'm trying to get a reference to it into the converter by creating the intermediate GeometryConverterData object in the Resources section. This object exists solely to get around the problem of not being able to bind directly to the ConverterParameter property (as mentioned in the comments). Here is the code for the GeometryDataConverter class: class GeometryConverterData : FrameworkElement { public static readonly DependencyProperty PlaneProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Plane", typeof(ViewPlane), typeof(GeometryConverterData), null, ValidValue); public static bool ValidValue(object o){ return true; } public ViewPlane Plane { get{ return GetValue(PlaneProperty) as ViewPlane; }set{ SetValue(PlaneProperty, value); } } } I added the ValidValue function for debugging, to see what this property was getting bound it. It only and always gets set to null. I know that the ViewPlaneSelector.SelectedItem isn't always null since the ItemsControl has items, and it's items are drawn from the same property on the same object... so what gives? How can I get a reference to this ComboBox into my ValueConverter. Or, alternately, why is what I'm doing silly and overly complicated. I'm as guilty as many of sometimes getting it into my head that something has to be done a certain way and then killing myself to make it happen when there's a much cleaner and simpler solution.

  • DynamicMethod for ConstructorInfo.Invoke, what do I need to consider?

    - by Lasse V. Karlsen
My question is this: If I'm going to build a DynamicMethod object, corresponding to a ConstructorInfo.Invoke call, what types of IL do I need to implement in order to cope with all (or most) types of arguments, when I can guarantee that the right type and number of arguments is going to be passed in before I make the call? Background I am on my 3rd iteration of my IoC container, and currently doing some profiling to figure out if there are any areas where I can easily shave off large amounts of time being used. One thing I noticed is that when resolving to a concrete type, ultimately I end up with a constructor being called, using ConstructorInfo.Invoke, passing in an array of arguments that I've worked out. What I noticed is that the invoke method has quite a bit of overhead, and I'm wondering if most of this is just different implementations of the same checks I do. For instance, due to the constructor matching code I have, to find a matching constructor for the predefined parameter names, types, and values that I have passed in, there's no way this particular invoke call will not end up with something it should be able to cope with, like the correct number of arguments, in the right order, of the right type, and with appropriate values. When doing a profiling session containing a million calls to my resolve method, and then replacing it with a DynamicMethod implementation that mimics the Invoke call, the profiling timings was like this: ConstructorInfo.Invoke: 1973ms DynamicMethod: 93ms This accounts for around 20% of the total runtime of this profiling application. In other words, by replacing the ConstructorInfo.Invoke call with a DynamicMethod that does the same, I am able to shave off 20% runtime when dealing with basic factory-scoped services (ie. all resolution calls end up with a constructor call). I think this is fairly substantial, and warrants a closer look at how much work it would be to build a stable DynamicMethod generator for constructors in this context. So, the dynamic method would take in an object array, and return the constructed object, and I already know the ConstructorInfo object in question. Therefore, it looks like the dynamic method would be made up of the following IL: l001: ldarg.0 ; the object array containing the arguments l002: ldc.i4.0 ; the index of the first argument l003: ldelem.ref ; get the value of the first argument l004: castclass T ; cast to the right type of argument (only if not "Object") (repeat l001-l004 for all parameters, l004 only for non-Object types, varying l002 constant from 0 and up for each index) l005: newobj ci ; call the constructor l006: ret Is there anything else I need to consider? Note that I'm aware that creating dynamic methods will probably not be available when running the application in "reduced access mode" (sometimes the brain just won't give up those terms), but in that case I can easily detect that and just calling the original constructor as before, with the overhead and all.
