Are there any known limits or is application server specific? Any best practices or suggestions on this topic (pun unintended)?

But in j2me polish videoControl.initDisplayMode(VideoControl.USE_DIRECT_VIDEO,this) here this refers to VideoCanvas (which extends from javax.microedition.lcdui.Canvas). But it throws an "IllegalArgumentException - container should be canvas" like that. How to solve the issue?

I want to have the topic/queue to be automatically created at best, or at least to have a standard way to define it, per application (say, in ejb-jar/META-INF) this question and this blogpost show us how to do it in an application server specific way. This surely works, but: I want to use the @MessageDriven annotation I want the setting not to be global for the application server I want the setting to be portable

    Hi, Due to the lack of Deployment functionality of Visual Studio Express edition, I'm here asking if anyone can recommend a very nice free Deployment template for the express edition. I'm mainly working with C# desktop project. I know that there is still ClickOnce deployment in the Express edition, but it seems to me that it is not so difficult to control, which means, you do "click once", then the tool will give you a bunch of files out of my control, not so easy to maintain. I can only fine 1, the OpenJDK : $ which java /usr/bin/java $ java -version java version "1.6.0_0" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_0-b11) OpenJDK Server VM (build 1.6.0_0-b11, mixed mode) How can I find the others?     Hi, I am supposed to create a simple replicated cache using java for internal purpose which will be used in a distributed environment. I have seen oracle has implemented Replicated Cache Service. http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH32UG/Replicated+Cache+Service The problem I am facing is while doing an update or remove, I acquire lock on other cache's to the point the cache get's updated and notifies others of the change. This is eventually going into a dead lock situation, while removing. Is there any strategy I should follow while updating or removing from cache's.   • Sql Server Compact Edition version error.

    I am working on .NET ClickOnce project that uses Sql Server 2005 Compact Edition to synchronize remote data through the use of a Merge replication. This application has been live for nearly a year now, and while we encounter occasional synchronization errors, things run quite smoothly for the most part. Yesterday a user reported an error that I have never seen before and have yet to find any information for online. Many users synchronize every night, and I haven't received error reports from anyone else, so this issue must be isolated to this particular user / client machine. Here are the full details of the error: -Error Code : 80004005 -Message : The message contains an unexpected replication operation code. The version of SQL Server Compact Edition Client Agent and SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent should match. [ replication operation code = 31 ] -Minor Error : 28526 -Source : Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition -Numeric Parameters : 31 One interesting thing that I've found is that his data does get synchronized to the server, so this error must occur after the upload completes. I have yet to determine whether or not changes at the server are still being downloaded to his subscription. Thinking that maybe there was some kind of version conflict going on, I had a remote desktop session with this user last night and uninstalled both the application and the SQL Server Compact Edition prerequisite, then reinstalled both from our ClickOnce publication site. I also removed his existing local database file so that upon synchronization, an entirely new subscription would be issued to him. Still his errors continue. I suppose the error may be somewhat general, and the text in the error message stating that the versions should match may not necessarily reflect the problem at hand. This site contains the only official reference to this error that I've been able to find, and it offers no more detail than the error message itself. Has anyone else encountered this error? Or at least know more about SQL Compact to have a better guess as to what is going on here? Any help / suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

However, when I right click on the project node and select Test RESTful Web Service, the browser pop up, and supposedly my project would be listed on the left, and supposedly I would be able to select it, and test against various function that listed on the right. However, I dont see any of that. Any idea why?

  • Efficient persistent storage for simple id to table of values map for java

    I need to store some data that follows the simple pattern of mapping an "id" to a full table (with multiple rows) of several columns (i.e. some integer values [u, v, w]). The size of one of these tables would be a couple of KB. Basically what I need is to store a persistent cache of some intermediary results. This could quite easily be implemented as simple sql, but there's a couple of problems, namely I need to compress the size of this structure on disk as much as possible. (because of amount of values I'm storing) Also, it's not transactional, I just need to write once and simply read the contents of the entire table, so a relational DB isn't actually a very good fit. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions? For some reason I can't seem to come up with something decent atm. Especially something with an API in java would be nice.

Within the Standalone Application a web browser needs to be opened, going to a page within the Web Application. This page is for authorized users only.   • GWT: Populating a page from datastore using RPC is too slow

    Is there a way to speed up the population of a page with GWT's UI elements which are generated from data loaded from the datastore? Can I avoid making the unnecessary RPC call when the page is loaded? More details about the problem I am experiencing: There is a page on which I generate a table with names and buttons for a list of entities loaded from the datastore. There is an EntryPoint for the page and in its onModuleLoad() I do something like this: final FlexTable table = new FlexTable(); rpcAsyncService.getAllCandidates(new AsyncCallback<List<Candidate>>() { public void onSuccess(List<Candidate> candidates) { int row = 0; for (Candidate person : candidates) { table.setText(row, 0, person.getName()); table.setWidget(row, 1, new ToggleButton("Yes")); table.setWidget(row, 2, new ToggleButton("No")); row++; } } ... }); This works, but takes more than 30 seconds to load the page with buttons for 300 candidates. This is unacceptable. The app is running on Google App Engine and using the app engine's datastore.

The problem I am having right now is that, if I am on A, constructor of A will load, but it will also load constructor of bean B. This make my page load twice as slow. What would be the best way to solve this problem?

    We are in the process of switching from the C# Guid.NewGuid() random-ish guid generator to the sequential guid algorithm suggested in this post. While this seems to work well for MS SQL Server, I am unsure about the implications for Oracle databases, in which we store guids in a raw(16) field. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this algorithm would be good for creating sequential guids for Oracle as well as for MS SQL Server, or if a different variant should be used. Thanks!
