    Hei everyone! I have this variable in shell containing paths separated by a space: LINE="/path/to/manipulate1 /path/to/manipulate2" I want to add additional path string in the beginning of the string and as well right after the space so that the variable will have the result something like this: LINE="/additional/path1/to/path/to/manipulate1 additional/path2/to/path/to/manipulate2" Any help appreciated Thanks in advance

  • Problem intialising 2D array

    Ok, so I have a 2D Array that is initialised with values from a file (format: x y z). My file reads in the values correctly but when adding the z value to the matrix/2DArray, I run into a segfault and I have no idea why. It is possibly incorrect use of pointers? I still don't quite have the hang of them yet. This is my intialiser, works fine, even intialises all "z" values to 0. int** make2DArray(int rows, int columns) { int** newArray; newArray = (int**)malloc(rows*sizeof(int*)); if (newArray == NULL) { printf("out of memory for newArray.\n"); } for (int i = 0; i < rows; i++) { newArray[i] = (int*)malloc(columns*sizeof(int)); if (newArray[i] == NULL) { printf("out of memory for newArray[%d].\n", i); } } //intialise all values to 0 for (int i = 0; i < rows; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < columns; j++) { newArray[i][j] = 0; } } return newArray; } This is how I call the initialiser (and problem function). int** map = make2DArray(rows, columns); fillMatrix(&map, mapFile); And this is the problem code. void fillMatrix(int*** inMatrix, FILE* inFile) { int x, y, z; char line[100]; while(fgets(line, sizeof(line), inFile) != NULL) { sscanf(line, "%d %d %d", &x, &y, &z); *inMatrix[x][y] = z; } } From what I can gather through the use of ddd, the problem comes when y gets to 47. The map file has a max "x" value of 47 and a max "y" value of 63, I'm pretty sure I haven't got the order mixed up, so I don't know why the program is segfault-ing? I'm sure it's some newbie mistake...

I know the data file is getting downloaded because I watch the directory where it is being placed. I also know that the import is happening, meaning that it is in the while loop, because I can monitor the DB and records are being inserted. Any ideas as to why I am not getting output to the screen?

    I'm trying to use a dynamically generated fully-qualified table name in sql server 2008. For example, this does not work: select max([id]) from @dbName+N'.[T1]' This will give an error like: Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 73 Incorrect syntax near '+'. I know that something like this works: declare @qualifiedTable varchar(200) = @dbName+N'.[T1]' select max([id]) from @qualifiedTable But I have to do this LOTS of times so I would really like to do it in line. Is it possible?

    I was unable to find any solution of my specific issue. I'm using Xcode 3.2. I'd like to indent the next line of function argument just one step in from the previous line: somevariable = pow( a, b); However, Xcode's syntax-aware indenting insists on converting the above into: somevariable = pow( a, b); Where the arguments are aligned with opening parenthesis of the function. How can I make indenting be configured to match my preference?

    I'm trying to Display individual elements of an Object I have created. It is a simple Java program that allows users to add and keep track of Player Details.     I want to replace new lines in text with coma or space but do not change the last new line. I know of this question: How to replace new lines with tab characters - but it does produce an tab on end instead of new line. So far I have come with: awk 'NR>1{printf","} {printf $1} END{printf"\n"}' Is there an easier way to do this? This is not an assignment, I am just curious want to level up my scripting.
