  • why PaintComponent event in Java happen everytime I use its Graphics Event?

    - by Pooya
Consider this code: public class StateChartPanel extends JPanel { private LightContext LC; public StateChartPanel(LightContext lc){ LC=lc; } public void paintComponent( Graphics G ){ super.paintComponent( G ); LC.DrawStateChart((Graphics2D)G); } } StateChartPanel is a panel to draw something (a state chart). It sends its Graphics object to LC which use it to draw shapes but whenever it draws something the PaintComponent event of StateChartPanel happens again and it causes my application to hang.

  • C# Copying instance variable to local variable in functions of same class

    - by NickLarsen
I have been looking through some code on an open source project recently and found many occurrences of this kind of code: class SomeClass { private int SomeNumber = 42; public ReturnValue UseSomeNumber(...) { int someNumberCopy = this.SomeNumber; if (someNumberCopy > ...) { // ... do some work with someNumberCopy } else { // ... do something else with someNumberCopy } } } Is there any real benefit to making a copy of the instance variable?

  • How to get compatibility between C# and SQL2k8 AES Encryption?

    - by Victor Rodrigues
I have an AES encryption being made on two columns: one of these columns is stored at a SQL Server 2000 database; the other is stored at a SQL Server 2008 database. As the first column's database (2000) doesn't have native functionality for encryption / decryption, we've decided to do the cryptography logic at application level, with .NET classes, for both. But as the second column's database (2008) allow this kind of functionality, we'd like to make the data migration using the database functions to be faster, since the data migration in SQL 2k is much smaller than this second and it will last more than 50 hours because of being made at application level. My problem started at this point: using the same key, I didn't achieve the same result when encrypting a value, neither the same result size. Below we have the full logic in both sides.. Of course I'm not showing the key, but everything else is the same: private byte[] RijndaelEncrypt(byte[] clearData, byte[] Key) { var memoryStream = new MemoryStream(); Rijndael algorithm = Rijndael.Create(); algorithm.Key = Key; algorithm.IV = InitializationVector; var criptoStream = new CryptoStream(memoryStream, algorithm.CreateEncryptor(), CryptoStreamMode.Write); criptoStream.Write(clearData, 0, clearData.Length); criptoStream.Close(); byte[] encryptedData = memoryStream.ToArray(); return encryptedData; } private byte[] RijndaelDecrypt(byte[] cipherData, byte[] Key) { var memoryStream = new MemoryStream(); Rijndael algorithm = Rijndael.Create(); algorithm.Key = Key; algorithm.IV = InitializationVector; var criptoStream = new CryptoStream(memoryStream, algorithm.CreateDecryptor(), CryptoStreamMode.Write); criptoStream.Write(cipherData, 0, cipherData.Length); criptoStream.Close(); byte[] decryptedData = memoryStream.ToArray(); return decryptedData; } This is the SQL Code sample: open symmetric key columnKey decryption by password = N'{pwd!!i_ll_not_show_it_here}' declare @enc varchar(max) set @enc = dbo.VarBinarytoBase64(EncryptByKey(Key_GUID('columnKey'), 'blablabla')) select LEN(@enc), @enc This varbinaryToBase64 is a tested sql function we use to convert varbinary to the same format we use to store strings in the .net application. The result in C# is: eg0wgTeR3noWYgvdmpzTKijkdtTsdvnvKzh+uhyN3Lo= The same result in SQL2k8 is: AI0zI7D77EmqgTQrdgMBHAEAAACyACXb+P3HvctA0yBduAuwPS4Ah3AB4Dbdj2KBGC1Dk4b8GEbtXs5fINzvusp8FRBknF15Br2xI1CqP0Qb/M4w I just didn't get yet what I'm doing wrong. Do you have any ideas? EDIT: One point I think is crucial: I have one Initialization Vector at my C# code, 16 bytes. This IV is not set at SQL symmetric key, could I do this? But even not filling the IV in C#, I get very different results, both in content and length.

  • vsts load testing wcf app

    - by ashish.s
I have a simple test written like this public class Test { [ThreadStatic] private static ServiceClient client; [TestMethod] public void TestCase1() { If( client == null) { .... //instantiate client } client.CallMyServiceMethod() } [TestMethod] public void TestCase2() { using(var newClient = new ServiceClient()) { newClient.CallMyServiceMethod() } } The percentage of new users is set to 100 % for the test, and the user load is constant load of 1. But the response time for TestCase1 is about 3 times better than TestCase2. Can someone see what i am missing here ? many thanks

  • When are response headers created in ASP.NET web forms?

    - by Jones
I read somewhere the you can't remove response headers once they've been added. Given that, I'm wondering where in a standard ASP.NET web forms application do response headers get added initially. For example, these: Date Fri, 23 Apr 2010 16:25:56 GMT Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Cache-Control private And can I stop it from happening? Do subsequent headers override old headers? Does my question even make sense? Thanks.

  • Help creating a JavaScript mixin in Tapestry5?

    - by shane87
I am creating a mixin which renders a javascript file when a textfield gains focus. I am new to the idea of mixins in Tapestry, and I am unsure of where to place my original javascript file which i wish to run when the textfield gains focus. The following is an example of my code: The Java mixin class: package asc.mixins; import org.apache.tapestry5.RenderSupport; import org.apache.tapestry5.annotations.AfterRender; import org.apache.tapestry5.annotations.Environmental; import org.apache.tapestry5.annotations.IncludeJavaScriptLibrary; import org.apache.tapestry5.annotations.InjectContainer; import org.apache.tapestry5.corelib.base.AbstractTextField; @IncludeJavaScriptLibrary("js_dasher_mixin.js") public class DasherMixin { @Environmental private RenderSupport renderSupport; @InjectContainer private AbstractTextField field; @AfterRender void addScript() { this.renderSupport.addScript("new JSDasher('%s');", this.field.getClientId()); } } The Javascript mixin file: JSDasher = Class.create({ initialize: function(textField) { this.textField = $(textField); this.textField.observe('focus', this.onFocus.bindAsEventListener(this)); }, onFocus: function(event) { //call my javascript init() function } } part of my javascript file I wish to run when the textfield gains focus: var posX, posY; // Sets up our global variables and dispatches an init request to the server. function init() { posX=0; posY=0; canvas = document.getElementById("canvas"); canvasWidth = canvas.offsetWidth; canvasHeight = canvas.offsetHeight; if (canvas.getContext) { ctx = canvas.getContext("2d"); } canvas.onclick = canvasClicked; canvas.onmousemove = mouseMoved; canvasOffsetX = findPosX(canvas); canvasOffsetY = findPosY(canvas); sessID = -1; sendInitRQ(canvasWidth, canvasHeight); } My javascript file is much larger than above, my question is where should I put my javascript code above? Should it all be contained in the mixin.js file? if so where exactly should it go? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Check if DataRow exists by column name in c#?

    - by waqasahmed
I want to do something like this: private User PopulateUsersList(DataRow row) { Users user = new Users(); user.Id = int.Parse(row["US_ID"].ToString()); if (row["US_OTHERFRIEND"] != null) { user.OtherFriend = row["US_OTHERFRIEND"].ToString(); } return user; } However, I get an error saying US_OTHERFRIEND does not belong to the table. I want to simply check if it is not null, then set the value. Isn't there a way to do this?

  • Constructor versus setter injection

    - by Chris
Hi, I'm currently designing an API where I wish to allow configuration via a variety of methods. One method is via an XML configuration schema and another method is through an API that I wish to play nicely with Spring. My XML schema parsing code was previously hidden and therefore the only concern was for it to work but now I wish to build a public API and I'm quite concerned about best-practice. It seems that many favor javabean type PoJo's with default zero parameter constructors and then setter injection. The problem I am trying to tackle is that some setter methods implementations are dependent on other setter methods being called before them in sequence. I could write anal setters that will tolerate themselves being called in many orders but that will not solve the problem of a user forgetting to set the appropriate setter and therefore the bean being in an incomplete state. The only solution I can think of is to forget about the objects being 'beans' and enforce the required parameters via constructor injection. An example of this is in the default setting of the id of a component based on the id of the parent components. My Interface public interface IMyIdentityInterface { public String getId(); /* A null value should create a unique meaningful default */ public void setId(String id); public IMyIdentityInterface getParent(); public void setParent(IMyIdentityInterface parent); } Base Implementation of interface: public abstract class MyIdentityBaseClass implements IMyIdentityInterface { private String _id; private IMyIdentityInterface _parent; public MyIdentityBaseClass () {} @Override public String getId() { return _id; } /** * If the id is null, then use the id of the parent component * appended with a lower-cased simple name of the current impl * class along with a counter suffix to enforce uniqueness */ @Override public void setId(String id) { if (id == null) { IMyIdentityInterface parent = getParent(); if (parent == null) { // this may be the top level component or it may be that // the user called setId() before setParent(..) } else { _id = Helpers.makeIdFromParent(parent,getClass()); } } else { _id = id; } } @Override public IMyIdentityInterface getParent() { return _parent; } @Override public void setParent(IMyIdentityInterface parent) { _parent = parent; } } Every component in the framework will have a parent except for the top level component. Using the setter type of injection, then the setters will have different behavior based on the order of the calling of the setters. In this case, would you agree, that a constructor taking a reference to the parent is better and dropping the parent setter method from the interface entirely? Is it considered bad practice if I wish to be able to configure these components using an IoC container? Chris

  • Flash AS3 button eventlistener array bug

    - by Tyler Pepper
Hi there, this is my first time posting a question here. I have an array of 12 buttons on a timeline that when first visiting that part of the timeline, get a CLICK eventlistener added to them using a for loop. All of them work perfectly at that point. When you click one it plays a frame label inside the specific movieClip and reveals a bio on the corresponding person with a close button and removes the CLICK eventlisteners for each button, again using a for loop. The close button plays a closing animation, and then the timeline goes back to the first frame (the one with the 12 buttons on it) and the CLICK eventlisteners are re-added, but now only the first 9 buttons of the array work. There are no output errors and the code to re-add the eventlisteners is exactly the same as the first time that works. I am completely at a loss and am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. All of my buttons are named correctly, there are absolutely no output errors (I've used the debug module) and I made sure the array with the buttons in it is outputting all 12 at the moment the close button is clicked to add the eventlisteners back. for (var q = 0; q < ackBoDBtnArray.length; q++){ contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc[ackBoDBtnArray[q]].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showBio); } private function showBio(eo:MouseEvent):void { trace("show the bio"); bodVar = ackBoDBtnArray.getIndex(eo.target.name); contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc.gotoAndPlay(ackBoDPgArray[bodVar]); contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc.closeBio_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, hideBio); for (var r = 0; r < ackBoDBtnArray.length; r++){ contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc[ackBoDBtnArray[r]].mouseEnabled = false; contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc[ackBoDBtnArray[r]].removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showBio); } } private function hideBio(eo:MouseEvent):void { trace("hide it!"); contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc.closeBio_btn.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, hideBio); contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc.gotoAndPlay(ackBoDClosePgArray[bodVar]); for (var s = 0; s < ackBoDBtnArray.length; s++){ trace(ackBoDBtnArray[s]); contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc[ackBoDBtnArray[s]].mouseEnabled = true; contentArea_mc.acknowledgements_mc.BoD_mc[ackBoDBtnArray[s]].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showBio); } Thanks in advance for any help and insight you can provide...I have a slight feeling that its something that may be obvious to another set of eyes...haha.

  • How the simples GUI countdown is supposed to work?

    - by Roman
I am trying to write the simples GUI countdown. I found in Internet some code but it is already too fancy for me. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. So, I just want to have a window saying "You have 10 second left". The number of second should decrease every second from 10 to 0. I wrote a code. And I think I am close to the working solution. But I still missing something. Could you pleas help me to find out what is wrong? Here is my code: import javax.swing.*; public class Countdown { static JLabel label; // Method which defines the appearance of the window. private static void showGUI() { JFrame frame = new JFrame("Simple Countdown"); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); JLabel label = new JLabel("Some Text"); frame.add(label); frame.pack(); frame.setVisible(true); } // Define a new thread in which the countdown is counting down. static Thread counter = new Thread() { public void run() { for (int i=10; i>0; i=i-1) { updateGUI(i,label); try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch(InterruptedException e) {}; } } }; // A method which updates GUI (sets a new value of JLabel). private static void updateGUI(final int i, final JLabel label) { SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(i,label) { public Runnable(int i, JLabel label) { this.i = i; this.label = label; } public void run() { label.setText("You have " + i + " seconds."); } }); } // The main method (entry point). public static void main(String[] args) { javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { showGUI(); //counter.start(); } }); //counter.start(); } } And I have several concrete question about this code: Where should I place the counter.start();? (In my code I put it on 2 places. Which one is correct?) Why compiler complains about the constructor for Runnable? It says that I have an invalid method declaration and I need to specify the returned type. ADDED: I made the suggested corrections. And then I execute the code and get: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException at Worker.run(Worker.java:12) In the Worker.java in the line 12 I have: label.setText("You have " + i + " seconds.");.

  • LsaAddAccountRights not working for me

    - by SteveL
Using: Delphi 2010 and the JEDI Windows API and JWSCL I am trying to assign the Logon As A Service privilege to a user using LsaAddAccountRights function but it does not work ie. after the function returns, checking in Group Policy Editor shows that the user still does not have the above mentioned privilege. I'm running the application on Windows XP. Would be glad if someone could point out what is wrong in my code: unit Unit1; interface uses Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Variants, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms, Dialogs, StdCtrls, JwaWindows, JwsclSid; type TForm1 = class(TForm) Button1: TButton; procedure Button1Click(Sender: TObject); private { Private declarations } public { Public declarations } end; var Form1: TForm1; implementation {$R *.dfm} function AddPrivilegeToAccount(AAccountName, APrivilege: String): DWORD; var lStatus: TNTStatus; lObjectAttributes: TLsaObjectAttributes; lPolicyHandle: TLsaHandle; lPrivilege: TLsaUnicodeString; lSid: PSID; lSidLen: DWORD; lTmpDomain: String; lTmpDomainLen: DWORD; lTmpSidNameUse: TSidNameUse; lPrivilegeWStr: String; begin ZeroMemory(@lObjectAttributes, SizeOf(lObjectAttributes)); lStatus := LsaOpenPolicy(nil, lObjectAttributes, POLICY_LOOKUP_NAMES, lPolicyHandle); if lStatus <> STATUS_SUCCESS then begin Result := LsaNtStatusToWinError(lStatus); Exit; end; try lTmpDomainLen := DNLEN; // In 'clear code' this should be get by LookupAccountName SetLength(lTmpDomain, lTmpDomainLen); lSidLen := SECURITY_MAX_SID_SIZE; GetMem(lSid, lSidLen); try if LookupAccountName(nil, PChar(AAccountName), lSid, lSidLen, PChar(lTmpDomain), lTmpDomainLen, lTmpSidNameUse) then begin lPrivilegeWStr := APrivilege; lPrivilege.Buffer := PChar(lPrivilegeWStr); lPrivilege.Length := Length(lPrivilegeWStr) * SizeOf(Char); lPrivilege.MaximumLength := lPrivilege.Length; lStatus := LsaAddAccountRights(lPolicyHandle, lSid, @lPrivilege, 1); Result := LsaNtStatusToWinError(lStatus); end else Result := GetLastError; finally FreeMem(lSid); end; finally LsaClose(lPolicyHandle); end; end; procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); begin AddPrivilegeToAccount('Sam', 'SeServiceLogonRight'); end; end. • Writing to a comet stream using tomcat 6.0

I'm thinking of something analogous to private IP addresses, that can be used within enterprises, without conflicting with Registered IP addresses I have been asked to make a suggestion, as I advised Application Developers that they should not use OIDs under .1.3.6.1.4.1.111 - This is the Oracle branch
