The indicated class implements Serializable (the whole object graph). So far the only patterns / observations are: we seem to have the issue only when the application is used inside an iframe the problem seems to happen when a new version of the application has been deployed running firefox in privacy mode (disabling all caches etc.) doesn't fix the problem Any ideas? • Programmatically creating scrollview(s) from custom component in android

  I'm trying to build a compound control in Android, containing (among other things) a ScrollView. Things go wrong when I try to view the control in Eclipse, crashing with a NullPointerException after the error message: "Parser is not a BridgeXmlBlockParser". Stacktrace: java.lang.NullPointerException at android.view.View.<init>(View.java:1720) at android.view.ViewGroup.<init>(ViewGroup.java:277) at android.widget.FrameLayout.<init>(FrameLayout.java:83) at android.widget.ScrollView.<init>(ScrollView.java:128) at android.widget.ScrollView.<init>(ScrollView.java:124) at android.widget.ScrollView.<init>(ScrollView.java:120) at my.compound.control.StringPicker.onMeasure(StringPicker.java:46) ... I've traced the error to the following conditions: The NPE is thrown because a Context.obtainStyledAttributes() call returns null when the attrs argument passed is null. This only applies to the BridgeContext implementation used in Eclipse, which expects attrs to be an instance of the BridgeXmlBlockParser. The attrs argument is null because I create the ScrollView using the (Context) constructor. There is a workaround of course, which is passing the attrs I receive when Eclipse constructs the compound control, but I don't want all the attributes set on the compound control to apply to my inner control. Am I doing something wrong, is this a bug in Android Eclipse, ...?

Is it possible to set conversion options, so TSXDateTime is converted to <dateFrom, not <xsd:dateFrom tag? Did you meet that problem?

  I am developing an iPhone application and I use HTML to display formatted text. I often display the same webpage, but with a different content. I would like to use a template HTML file, and then fill it with my diffent values. I wonder if ObjectiveC has a template system similar to ERB in Ruby. That would allow to do things like Template: <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY> <H1>{{{title}}}</H1> <P>{{{content}}}</P> </BODY> </HTML> ObjectiveC (or what it may be in an ideal world) Template* template = [[Template alloc] initWithFile:@"my_template.tpl"]; [template fillMarker:@"title" withContent:@"My Title"]; [template fillMarker:@"content" withContent:@"My text here"]; [template process]; NSString* result = [template result]; [template release]; And the result string would contain: <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY> <H1>My Title</H1> <P>My text here</P> </BODY> </HTML> The above example could be achieved with some text replacement, but that would be a pain to maintain. I would also need something like loops inside templates. For instance if I have multiple items to display, i would like to generate multiple divs. Thanks for reading :)

• Android: Adding extended GLSurfaceView to a Layout don't show 3d stuff

  I make a game extending the class GLSurfaceView, if I apply SetContentView directly to that class, the 3d stuff and input works great. Now I want to show some items over 3d stuff, so I create a XML with a layout and some objects, and I try to add my class manually to the layout. • IIS 7.5 , Tomcat 7 - Isapi redirector - Fail Over - sticky sessions

  I have two instances of Tomcat 7.0.8 running in the same machine (Tomcat7A and Tomcat7B) and IIS 7.5 acting as front-end load-balancer with isapi-redirector 1.2.31, running on Windows 2008 R2. • Negative ItemCount in SharePoint Document Library

  What can be done about negative numbers in library item counts? ItemCount is a read-only property, what are you supposed to do when it is drastically incorrect? Earlier last week, I was doing some testing involving the copying and moving of files and folders from one document library to another. I was transfering the items from our actual document library to a sandbox "Test" library that I used to run all sorts of object model and workflow testing in before migrating to the public lists and libraries. I noticed that with files, things worked correctly, but when I copied a folder that had a file inside it (using SPFolder.CopyTo()), the item count for the test library did not actually update. Since this testing was mostly playing around, I paid it little heed. Today I was back in the test library to test a different workflow (regarding PDF conversion). While I was there, I decided to delete the folder I left last week since I didn't need it anymore. And that's when I saw the item count for the list drop to -1 in the All Site Content View. When I deleted the new PDF I had just uploaded, it then dropped to -2! I even checked with the object model... getting an instance of the library I checked the ItemCount property... lo and behold it was also -2. Is there any process which runs in the background, kinda like the one that cleans up workflow history, which will correct this kind of issue? Or is a programmer expected to keep watch for this kind of situation and come up with calculations to compensate the "count penalty", as it were?

UPDATE: I don't need this multithreading for separating costly operations to another thread. In this case I could use the performSelectorInBackground as mentioned in few answers. The main reason for this separate thread is the need to perform all the actions in the API (TTS by Loquendo) from one single thread. Meaning that I have to create an instance of the TTS object and call methods on that object from the same thread all the time.

  Running the example code for the Facebook API I get a null session object, and I should get a non-null object giving the comment in the code. What am I doing wrong? • Cocoa equivalent of the Carbon method getPtrSize

  I need to translate the a carbon method into cocoa into and I am having trouble finding any documentation about what the carbon method getPtrSize really does. From the code I am translating it seems that it returns the byte representation of an image but that doesn't really match up with the name. Could someone give me a good explanation of this method or link me to some documentation that describes it. The code I am translating is in a common lisp implementation called MCL that has a bridge to carbon (I am translating into CCL which is a common lisp implementation with a Cocoa bridge). • Problem adding namespaces to MSXML (using setProperty('SelectionNamespaces', ...))

  A while back, I asked a question regarding the usage of namespaces in MSXML. At first, I circumvented the whole thing with the XPath *[local-name()]-hack (see my previous post), but having a crisis of conscience I decided to do things the right way. (Doh!) Consider the following XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Root xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.foo.bar mySchema.xsd" xmlns="http://www.foo.bar" xmlns:ds="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <MyElement> </MyElement> </Root> When I try to add these namespaces using IXMLDOMDocument3.setProperty('SelectionNamespaces', NSString);, I get the following error: "SelectionNamespaces property value is invalid. Only well-formed xmlns attributes are allowed.". When removing the namespace xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.foo.bar mySchema.xsd", everything runs smoothly. What am I doing wrong here? Is there an error in the XML? Is MSXML to blame?

• jQuery, jQuery UI, and Dual Licensed Plugins (Dual Licensing)

  OK I have read many posts regarding Dual Licensing using MIT and GPL licenses. But Im curious still, as the wording seems to be inclusive. Many of the Dual Licenses state that the software is licensed using "MIT AND GPL". The "AND" is what confuses me. It seems to me that the word "AND" in the terms, means you will be licensing the product using both licenses. Most of the posts, here on stackoverflow, state that you can license the software using one "OR" the other. JQuery specifically states "OR", whereas JQuery UI specifically States "AND". Another Instance of the "AND" would be JQGrid. Im not a lawyer but, it seems to me that a legal interpretation of this would state that use of the software would mean that your using the software under both licenses. Has anyone who has contacted a lawyer gotten clarification or a definitive answer as to what is true? Can you use Dual licensed software products that state "AND" in the terms of agreement under either license? • Why were namespaces removed from ECMAScript consideration?

  Namespaces were once a consideration for ECMAScript (the old ECMAScript 4) but were taken out. As Brendan Eich says in this message: One of the use-cases for namespaces in ES4 was early binding (use namespace intrinsic), both for performance and for programmer comprehension -- no chance of runtime name binding disagreeing with any earlier binding. But early binding in any dynamic code loading scenario like the web requires a prioritization or reservation mechanism to avoid early versus late binding conflicts. Plus, as some JS implementors have noted with concern, multiple open namespaces impose runtime cost unless an implementation works significantly harder. For these reasons, namespaces and early binding (like packages before them, this past April) must go. But I'm not sure I understand all of that. What exactly is a prioritization or reservation mechanism and why would either of those be needed? Also, must early binding and namespaces go hand-in-hand? For some reason I can't wrap my head around the issues involved. Can anyone attempt a more fleshed out explanation? Also, why would namespaces impose runtime costs? In my mind I can't help but see little difference in concept between a namespace and a function using closures. For instance, Yahoo and Google both have YAHOO and google objects that "act like" namespaces in that they contain all of their public and private variables, functions, and objects within a single access point. So why, then, would a namespace be so significantly different in implementation? Maybe I just have a misconception as to what a namespace is exactly.

• Gomoku array-based AI-algorithm?

  Way way back (think 20+ years) I encountered a Gomoku game source code in a magazine that I typed in for my computer and had a lot of fun with. The game was difficult to win against, but the core algorithm for the computer AI was really simply and didn't account for a lot of code. I wonder if anyone knows this algorithm and has some links to some source or theory about it. The things I remember was that it basically allocated an array that covered the entire board. Then, whenever I, or it, placed a piece, it would add a number of weights to all locations on the board that the piece would possibly impact. For instance (note that the weights are definitely wrong as I don't remember those): 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 444 1234X4321 3 3 3 2 2 2 1 1 1 Then it simply scanned the array for an open location with the lowest or highest value. Things I'm fuzzy on: Perhaps it had two arrays, one for me and one for itself and there was a min/max weighting? There might've been more to the algorithm, but at its core it was basically an array and weighted numbers Does this ring a bell with anyone at all? Anyone got anything that would help?

• Selecting text in mobile Safari on iPhone

  I'm trying to make it easy for an iphone user to copy some text to the clipboard in mobile safari. As in the usual "touch-hold-copy". There is a specific bit of text I want to a user to copy. I have full choice of the html markup in which to wrap the text. How can I make it easy, rather than abitrary? For instance: Is there a way to "select all" the text upon touch-down using javascript? Then a user could just continue to touch-hold and then choose copy? Is there a way to bring up the "select all" option? Like you can when typing in a text box? After which they can choose copy? If there's no javascript solution, how can I arrange the html to help Safari select the right bit of text easily? As opposed to just a word, or a wrapping div? I've tried onFocus="this.select()" for various elements, none seem to work. Also tried onClick. Those who have tried to port a site that uses ZeroClipboard to the iPhone might have some ideas.   I have wsdl from third party server. Method that i'm interested in returns XmlNode. My thought was wrap web methods and use XmlSerializer to return strongly typed objects.   Hi everyone, I have some problems with sizing row's height in QTreeWidget. I use QStyledItemDelegate with QPlainTextEdit. During editing text in QPlainTextEdit i check for changes with a help of: rect = self.blockBoundingRect(self.firstVisibleBlock()) and if text's height changes i resize editor size and need row in QTreeWidget also resizing. But i don't know how to inform TreeWidget or a Delegate about changes. I tried to initialize editor with index, that i could use in a future, but Delegate creates new editor every time and i failed to use signals. Also I used following function to catch resize event, but it' doesn't: bool QAbstractItemDelegate::editorEvent ( QEvent * event, QAbstractItemModel * model, const QStyleOptionViewItem & option, const QModelIndex & index ) How can i bound editor's size changes with TreeWidget? And one more thing, by default all items (cells) in TreeWidget have -1 or some big value as default width. I need whole text in cell to be visible, so how can i limit cells width only by visible range and make it expand in height? I want for it the same behavior as in instance a table in MSWord.   If I have a property whose display format is dependent on the value of another property in the view model how do I create a display template for it? The combination of field1's display being dependent on field2's value will be used throughout the app and I would like to encapsulate this in a MVC 2 display template. To be more specific, I've already create a display template (Social.ascx) for custom data type Social that masks a social security number for display. For instance, XXX-XX-1234. [DataType("Social")] public string SocialSecurityNumber { get; set; } All employees also have an employeeID. Certain companies use the employee's social security number as either the whole employee id or as part of it. I need to also mask the employeeID if it contains the social. I'd like to create another display template (EmpID.ascx) to perform this task. [DataType("EmpID")] public string EmployeeID { get; set; } The problem is that I don't know how to get both properties in the "EmpID" template to be able to perform the comparison. • Diffence between FQL query and Graph API object access

  What's the difference between accessing user data with the Facebook Graph API (http://graph.facebook.com/btaylor) and using the Graph API to make a FQL query of the same user (https://api.facebook.com/method/fql.query?query=QUERY). Also, does anyone know which of them the Facebook Developer Toolkit (for ASP.NET) uses? The reason I ask is because I'm trying to access the logged in user's birthday after they begin a Facebook Connect session on my site, but when I use the toolkit it doesn't return it. However, if I make a manual call to the Graph API for that user object, it does return it. It's possible I might have something wrong with my call from the toolkit. I think I may need to include the session key, but I'm not sure how to get it.
