• Unlimited SMS API/Gateway (Sending and Receiving)

  I am creating a chat application which requires that users be able to send and receive sms messages through a web interface. It would be somewhat similar to the text messaging service available in yahoo mail or in aol instant messenger. The situation is this: Given the high quantity of messages that would be sent and received, paying on a per message basis is not economically feasible. How is it that sites such as yahoo, aim, and twitter can send and receive unlimited sms messages? Essentially, I am looking for a way to send and receive unlimited sms from my computer. Below is a list of some approaches I've come up with but have run into problems with as well. If just one of the approaches can be utilized effectively, then I am fine. As a note on the nature of my application: I will only be sending messages to users that explicitly sign up for the service and permit the receiving of messages. They can unsubscribe at any time. This is to prevent spam. I am aware of software such as Kannel which allows one to connect to a providers smsc gateway. However, this adds the risk of not being approved by the provider which would be unacceptable. Is there any way to significantly mitigate this risk? Utilizing a gateway provider eliminates this risk, but adds the issue of per message pricing. I am also aware of email to sms. However, I have done some testing with that and it appears that this method results in many messages being undelivered or delivered VERY late. If it weren't for that, this approach would have been ideal. Is there any way to negotiate with carriers to remove me from their filters (considering the nature of my service as stated before)? I could use a gsm modem, but even with an "unilimited" plan on a sim card, there are still limits (around 100,000 messages or so). Furthermore, from my understanding, gsm modems are capable of only sending out around a dozen messages per minute. I need to be able to send out as much as several hundred messages per second. During the first 2 months, around 10 messages per second would suffice. There are ways to send out ads with messages to cover the per message costs. However, this is a deal-breaker since it has a high chance of tarnishing the quality of service. Furthermore, I know it is possible to do it without such ads since yahoo, aim, and twitter do not send ads with their messages.

I want/need to enforce referential integrity such that when an insert is made on quotedetail, the quote and customer tables are also affected. I have tried my best to set up primary/foreign keys on my tables but need some help. • Why is this simple Mobile Form not closed when using the player

  Hi, I created this simple sample Form with the close button. Everything is working as expected when NOT using the Interop.WMPLib.dll I've seen other applications using this without problems but why isn't the Form process closed when I just add the line: SoundPlayer myPlayer = new SoundPlayer(); and of course dispose it: if (myPlayer != null) { myPlayer.Dispose(); myPlayer = null; } The Form closes but the debugger VS2008 is still active. • Sessions not persisting between requests

  My session objects are only stored within the request scope on google app engine and I can't figure out how to persist objects between requests. The docs are next to useless on this matter and I can't find anyone who's experienced a similar problem. Please help. When I store session objects in the servlet and forward the request to a JSP using: getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/example.jsp").forward(request,response); Everything works like it should. But when I store objects to the session and redirect the request using: response.sendRedirect("/example/url"); The session objects are lost to the ether. In fact when I dump session key/value pairs on new requests there is absolutely nothing, session objects only appear within the request scope of servlets which create session objects. It appears to me that the objects are not being written to Memcache or Datastore. In terms of configuring sessions for my application I have set <sessions-enabled>true</sessions-enabled> In appengine-web.xml. Is there anything else I am missing? The single paragraph of documentation on sessions also notes that only objects which implement Serializable can be stored in the session between requests. I have included an example of the code which is not working below. The obvious solution is to not use redirects, and this might be ok for the example given below but some application data does need to be stored in the session between requests so I need to find a solution to this problem. • CSS Hidden DIV Form Submit

  Using CSS, when a link is clicked it brings up a hidden DIV that contains a form. The user will then enter information and then submit the form. I'd like the hidden DIV to remain visisble, and a 'success message' to be displayed after submission. Then the user will have the option of closing the DIV. I can't get it to work without reloading the page, which causes the DIV to become hidden again. • How to make html image clickable inside a TextView

  I have the following text in a string in the resources file: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">&lt;img src="mail_big" /&gt;</a> It shows the image fine (I implemented ImageGetter) but it is not clickable. I have tried adding the Linkify thingy but I don't think it's meant for this case, and so it doesn't work. The setMovementMethod doesn't work either. I have tried different combinations of the above: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">&lt;img src="mail_big" /&gt;hello</a> Here, even the "hello" part is not clickable (neither blue nor underlined). <a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail_big" /></a> This doesn't even show the image. &lt;a href="mailto:[email protected]"&gt;&lt;img src="mail_big" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; If I just write the email, without the <a> tag it works perfectly, but I would like to use the image of an envelope that the user can click on. It's not possible to use an imagebutton because this text is in the middle of a string and so I can't split it. Any ideas? Thanks! EDIT: I found a solution or rather found how to do it correctly. All I had to do was adding the setMovementMethod call before the call to setText in the TextView and ALSO, and COMPLETELY NECESSARY, remove the attribute "android:autoLink="all" from the layout. Apparently, parsing mails and urls in a string is mutually exclusive to interpreting the link tags in a string. So one or the other but not both. Finally my layout is just a TextView with nothing special, just width and height. The activity is like this: TextView tv = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.about_text); tv.setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance()); tv.setText(Html.fromHtml(getString(R.string.about_content), new ImageGetter(), null)); And the string is like this: <string name="about_content"><a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail" /></a></string>

  I am binding a Foreign key property in my model. I am passing a list of possible values for that property in my model. Anyone knows how to do it?

• Simple Modal with Autocomplete in ASP.NET

  Hello, I am quite new to this so any help is very much appreciated. I am generating a modal pop using Simple Modal, this works ok. I now want to add jquery autocomplete to the element txtEmail. When I run the page outside of Simple Modal I can use Autocomplete, however when the page is loaded through Simple Modal it does not work. I have checked to ensure the element is loaded, and it is allowing me to change the text color, but I can not add autocomplete to it. What I now want to do is to search for "plugin_foo_bar": {" as this is the unique identifier for a new plugin description block. I want to replace the first sha1 value occuring afterwards. That's where I keep failing. I always grab the first,last or any occurrence in the entire file and not the block :( "title" is the unique identifier after the sha1 value. So I tried to make the .* less greedy but it ain't working out. last attempt was heading towards: sed -i 's/("name": "plugin_name_foo_bar.*sha1": ")([a-zA-Z0-9!@#\$%^&*()\[\]]*)(", "title"\)/\1blablabla\2/1' default.json to find the sha1 value of that plugin but still no joy. I hope someone knows - preferably a simpler approach - before I now continue with trial and error until I have to puke and freakout. I am working with SED on Windows, so Unix approach might help me to figure out how to achieve this in batch but please make it as one-liner if possible. Scripts are a real pain to convert.   I inherited a zencart mod and can't figure out what's wrong. The customer selects a product and an attribute (model#). This is then sent to another form that they complete. When they submit the form, the product and the attribute should be included in the email sent. At this time, only the product is coming through. The attribute just says "array." The interesting part is, when I delete the line that prints the attribute, the products_options_names will print out. So I know that both the product and the products_options_names are working. The attribute is the only thing that is not working right. Here's what I believe to be the significant code.   I've been working on this and I don't think I'm doing it right. |D Our database doesn't keep track of how many customers we retain so we looked for an alternate method. It's outlined in this article. It suggests you have this table to fill in: Year Number of Customers Number of customers Retained in 2009 Percent (%) Retained in 2009 Number of customers Retained in 2010 Percent (%) Retained in 2010 .... 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 Total The table would go out to 2012 in the headers. I'm just saving space. It tells you to find the total number of customers you had in your starting year. To do this, I used this query since our starting year is 2008: select YEAR(OrderDate) as 'Year', COUNT(distinct(billemail)) as Customers from dbo.tblOrder where OrderDate >= '2008-01-01' and OrderDate <= '2008-12-31' group by YEAR(OrderDate) At the moment we just differentiate our customers by email address. Then you have to search for the same names of customers who purchased again in later years (ours are 2009, 10, 11, and 12). I came up with this. It should find people who purchased in both 2008 and 2009. But also be advised that even without SALTY (just using crypt to store my pass) - I was still unable to perform a login successfully.   I'm trying to read a comment that is stored in a mysql table. For some reason I always get a parse error on the last line of the file even if the last line is blank. I'm not sure if it's relevant but the connect.php works for putting the comment into the database. I'm using wampserver to host it and coding it by hand. I think that's it's something to do with the while loop, when I comment out the while(){ and the } near the end I just get a few missing variable errors as you would expect. I'm quite new to php coding so I'm pretty sure the problem will be something simple that I've either missed or not understood properly. And have a relation between the new User and new Company.   I'm building an application that allows users to recommend music to each other, and am having trouble building a query that would return a 'stream' of recommendations that involve both the user themselves, as well as any of the user's friends. • JQM dialog is opening in new page instead of dialog

  Thank you for taking the time to read my question. I'm trying to get a dialog box to open using Jquery mobile. I followed the documentation and used the data-rel="dialog" notation along with the data-transition="pop". Instead of a dialog appearing on the same page, I get a brand new page with the dialog appearing. Can someone kindly assist me on how to fix this functionality.   I am building an application with Codeigniter and need some help with a DB query. I have a table called users with the following fields: user_id, user_name, user_password, user_email, user_role, user_manager_id In my app, I pull all records from the user table using the following: function get_clients() { $this->db->select('*'); $this->db->where('user_role', 'client'); $this->db->order_by("user_name", "Asc"); $query = $this->db->get("users"); return $query->result_array(); } This works as expected, however when I display the results in the view, I also want to display a new column called Manager which will display the managers user_name field. The user_manager_id is the id of the user from the same table. Im guessing you can create an outer join on the same table but not sure. In the view, I am displaying the returned info as follows: <table class="table table-striped" id="zero-configuration"> <thead> <tr> <th>Name</th> <th>Email</th> <th>Manager</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <?php foreach($clients as $row) { ?> <tr> <td><?php echo $row['user_name']; ?> (<?php echo $row['user_username']; ?>)</td> <td><?php echo $row['user_email']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['???']; ?></td> </tr> <?php } ?> </tbody> </table> Any idea of how I can form the query and display the manager name is the view?
