  Is anyone aware of an R package for Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) that can handle latent (hidden) nodes? I am referring to process learning the structure and the parameters of the model. Based on the documentation, the "bnlearn" package does not provide for such capability. In addition, is anyone aware of R packages that allow for making inferences and sensitivity analysis for BBN? When looking in spy++, it looks like the parent of the listbox is the desktop, not the combo box. How can I programmatically find the listbox window handle? I know I'd be looking for a window class of ComboLBox that belongs to my process, but how do I narrow that down to the specific one I am looking for? Adam

  I have the following model: class Service(models.Model): ratings = models.ManyToManyField(User) Now if I wanna get all the service with ratings sorted in descending order I did something: services_list = Service.objects.filter(ratings__gt=0).distinct() services_list = list(services_list) services_list.sort(key=lambda service: service.ratings.all().count(), reverse=True) As you can see its a three step process and I don't feel right about this. Anybody who knows a better way to do this?

  Should I validate input parameters on all functions I create? Input isn't passed from a user, but from other routines as part of an automatic process. I use error handling. I'm not sure what more validating input could do for me. If the input isn't valid, that's pretty much the same thing as an error, isn't it?

While I have found a number of pages by Microsoft detailing how to make an COM-interoperable interface, I am currently tripping over the use of Collections in design time: I would like to be able to use a standard VB6 "Collection object" in the .NET program - for example, specify an argument as being a VB6 collection - and thus minimize the time necessary for clients to consume the interface.   We have an existing PHP page (from an earlier project) which could be described as cryptic and ancient. It basically displays a form, catches the input and runs an external application to process the input and then pipes the output to the user. I would really like not to modify this file any more than is required. • rails server stuck in close_wait and requires a re-start once in a while

  I have a rails webapp which internally connects to another request server. At times , ruby process gets stuck in close_wait state and stop responding and needs a restart. i guess this happens only when the request server which the rails app connects to is restarted.
