  • How to import your own non-packaged Java classes in Jython

    - by thepandaatemyface
I know in Jython you can do import java.util.Random as Random Random().nextInt() But if I have a class I wrote myself, how can I import it into Jython without putting the class itself in a package? If I have a testclass Test: public class Test { public void foo() { System.out.println("bar"); } } that's not inside a package. Can I even import that into jython by using something along the lines offrom Test import Test?

  • How to save to Django Model that Have Mulitple Foreign Keys Fields

    - by Spikie
I have Models for business Apps class staff_name(models.Model): TITLE_CHOICES = ( ('Mr', 'Mr'), ('Miss', 'Miss'), ( 'Mrs', 'Mrs'), ( 'chief', 'chief'), ) titlename = models.CharField(max_length=10,choices=TITLE_CHOICES) firstname = models.CharField(max_length=150) surname = models.CharField(max_length=150) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) class meta: ordering = ["date"] get_latest_by = "date" class inventory_transaction(models.Model): stock_in = models.DecimalField(blank=True, null=True,max_digits=8, decimal_places=2) stock_out = models.DecimalField(blank=True,null=True,max_digits=8, decimal_places=2) Number_container = models.ForeignKey(container_identity) staffs = models.ForeignKey(staff_name) goods_details = models.ForeignKey(departments) balance = models.DecimalField(max_digits=8, decimal_places=2) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) What i want to accomplish is check if the staff have made entry to the table before if yes add the value for the stock in plus (last) balance field and assign to balance if no just assign stock in value to balance field and save these are my codes These are my codes: try: s = staffname.staffs_set.all().order_by("-date").latest() # staffname is the instant of the class model staff_name e = s.staffs_set.create(stockin=vdataz,balance=s.balance + vdataz ) # e is the instant of the class model inventory_transaction e.save e.staffs.add(s) e.from_container.add(containersno) e.goods_details.add(department) except ObjectDoesNotExist: e = staff_name.objects.create(stockin=vdataz,balance=vdataz ) e.save e.staffs.add(staffname) e.from_container.add(containersno) e.goods_details.add(department) I will really appreciate a solution Thanks I hope it make more sense now. iam on online if you need more explanation just ask in the comment.Thank you for your help

  • php OOP function declarations

    - by kris
I'm a big fan of OOP in php, but i feel like defining class methods gets disorganized so fast. I have a pretty good background in OOP in C++, and i am pretty comfortable with how it is handled there, and am curious if there are ways to do it similarly in php. To be more specific, here is what i mean. I like how in C++ you can define a class header (myclass.h) and then define the actual details of the functions in the implementation file (myclass.cc). Ive found that this can easily be replicated using interfaces in php, but i havent found a good solution for the following: I like to organize my code in C++ in different files based on how they are accessed, so for example, public methods that can be called outside of the class would be in 1 place, and private methods would be organized somewhere else - this is personal preference. Ive tried to define class methods in php like: private function MyPHPClass::myFunction(){ } when the definition isnt directly inside the class block( { } ), but i havent had any success doing this. Ive been through all of the pages on php.net, but couldnt find anything like this. Im assuming that there is no support for something like this, but thought i would ask anyway. thanks

  • Why do WCF clients depend on the app.config file?

    - by routeNpingme
Like a lot of things, I'm sure there's a good reason for this, so please help me understand... Why, by default, do WCF services store settings in app.config? This has been so frustrating trying to work with multiple Silverlight class libraries. These class libraries are supposed to be completely independent from each other, and this dependency on the app.config seems to cause the following headaches: Single Responsibility Principle - I should be able to add a reference to a class library and go. If that class library uses a service reference, this idea is shot before I even start coding against it. Muddy Configuration - To get other libraries to work, I have to copy and paste the service configurations into the "main" application configs. If an endpoint changes in any way, I can't just worry about a new version of that class DLL - I have to worry about anything that uses it, too. Complex Alternatives - Programmatically creating the endpoint isn't pretty. Period. There has to be a better way. Why doesn't WCF at least separate the service configurations into a ServiceName.config or something that gets copied to an output directory. What am I missing? How do you deal with this?

  • In the following list, how do I prevent jQuery from interacting with part of it.

    - by kylex
I have the following list structure: <ul> <li>One</li> <li class="topActive">Two <ul> <li class="active">Two-1 <ul> <li>Two-1-1</li> </ul> </li> <li>Two-2</li> </ul> </li> <li>Three <ul> <li>Three-1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> with the following jQuery: $("ul>li>ul").hide(); $("ul>li>ul>li>ul").hide(); $("ul>li>ul>li>ul>ul>li").hide(); $('.active').parents().show();????????? $("ul>li").hoverIntent( function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideDown('fast'); }, function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideUp('fast'); } ); $("ul>li>ul>li").hoverIntent( function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideDown('fast'); }, function(){ $(this).children('ul').slideUp('fast'); } ); What I would like is this: When an li class is topActive, everything within that class down to the current class can not be affected by the jQuery that causes the list to slide up and down. so in the case provided the following would show, along with the top level: One Two Two-1 Two-2 Three And when I mouse over either, Two, or Two-1 or Two-2 nothing happens, but if I mouse over Three, the jQuery will cause it to slide up or slide down. In this example: <ul> <li>One</li> <li class="topActive">Two <ul> <li class="active">Two-1 <ul> <li>Two-1-1</li> </ul> </li> <li>Two-2</li> </ul> </li> <li>Three <ul> <li>Three-1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> When I mouseover Two-1, it will slide down, but when I mouse out Two-1 will remain. One Two Two-1 Two-2 Three Any suggestsions for either a CSS or jQuery implementation (or mixture of the two)?

  • WPF custom DependencyProperty notify changes

    - by morsanu
Hey guys I have a class called MyComponent and it has a DependencyProperty caled BackgroundProperty. public class MyComponent { public MyBackground Background { get { return (MyBackground)GetValue(BackgroundProperty); } set { SetValue(BackgroundProperty, value); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty BackgroundProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Background", typeof(MyBackground), typeof(MyComponent), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(default(MyBackground), new PropertyChangedCallback(OnPropertyChanged))); } MyBackground is a class that derives from DependencyObject and it has some DependencyProperties. public class MyBackground : DependencyObject { public Color BaseColor { set { SetValue(BaseColorProperty, value); } get { return (Color)GetValue(BaseColorProperty); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty BaseColorProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("BaseColor", typeof(Color), typeof(MyBackground ), new UIPropertyMetadata(Colors.White)); [...] } Now, what I want is when a property from MyBackground is changed, MyComponent to be notified that MyBackground has changed and the PropertyChangedCallback named OnPropertyChanged to be called.

Hi all! have problems with mouseover in Mozilla and Chrome after making it work in IE, for sure I can tell you that my code woked perfectly in Chrome at least, cause thats my default browser and I used it for debuging when creating the javascipt and it worked nicely... until I tried to make it work in IE too. • Do COM Dll References Require Manual Disposal? If so, How?

    - by Drew
I have written some code in VB that verifies that a particular port in the Windows Firewall is open, and opens one otherwise. The code uses references to three COM DLLs. I wrote a WindowsFirewall class, which Imports the primary namespace defined by the DLLs. Within members of the WindowsFirewall class I construct some of the types defined by the DLLs referenced. The following code isn't the entire class, but demonstrates what I am doing. Imports NetFwTypeLib Public Class WindowsFirewall Public Shared Function IsFirewallEnabled as Boolean Dim icfMgr As INetFwMgr icfMgr = CType(System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type.GetTypeFromProgID("HNetCfg.FwMgr")), INetFwMgr) Dim profile As INetFwProfile profile = icfMgr.LocalPolicy.CurrentProfile Dim fIsFirewallEnabled as Boolean fIsFirewallEnabled = profile.FirewallEnabled return fIsFirewallEnabled End Function End Class I do not reference COM DLLs very often. I have read that unmanaged code may not be cleaned up by the garbage collector and I would like to know how to make sure that I have not introduced any memory leaks. Please tell me (a) if I have introduced a memory leak, and (b) how I may clean it up. (My theory is that the icfMgr and profile objects do allocate memory that remains unreleased until after the application closes. I am hopeful that setting their references equal to nothing will mark them for garbage collection, since I can find no other way to dispose of them. Neither one implements IDisposable, and neither contains a Finalize method. I suspect they may not even be relevant here, and that both of those methods of releasing memory only apply to .Net types.)

  • PHP + MySQL - Match first letter of directory

    - by user1822825
Let's say I have a class table. In the class table, there are many students with their pictures. In the first registration, I've registered the class and students with pictures. The pictures were put into a directory like classid_classname. Then, I change the class name. Now, I'm adding the student's picture. Now, the new picture can't be recognized because the class name has changed. The pic url will be set as classid_class(new)name. How can I match the first letter of the directory? This is my update code : $classID= $_POST["classID"]; $className= $_POST["className"]; $p1 = $_FILES['p1']['name']; $p2 = $_FILES['p2']['name']; $p3 = $_FILES['p3']['name']; $direct = $_POST["className"]; $direct = strtolower($direct); $direct = str_replace(' ', '_', $direct); $tfish = $classID."_".$direct; //the directory variable will have new name because it can't be fetched if the directory has been changed many times// $file = "slider_imagesClass/".$tfish."/"; $url = "/".$tfish."/"; How can I make the variable to match the first letter of the directory because the classID will not change? Thank you. Really appreciate your help :D

  • Passing objects by reference or not in C#

    - by Piku
Suppose I have a class like this: public class ThingManager { List<SomeClass> ItemList; public void AddToList (SomeClass Item) { ItemList.Add(Item); } public void ProcessListItems() { // go through list one item at a time, get item from list, // modify item according to class' purpose } } Assume "SomeClass" is a fairly large class containing methods and members that are quite complex (List<s and arrays, for example) and that there may be a large quantity of them, so not copying vast amounts of data around the program is important. Should the "AddToList" method have "ref" in it or not? And why? It's like trying to learn pointers in C all over again ;-) (which is probably why I am getting confused, I'm trying to relate these to pointers. In C it'd be "SomeClass *Item" and a list of "SomeClass *" variables)

  • Limiting method access in protected section to few classes

    - by Bharat
Hi, I want to limit the access of protected methods to certain inherited classes only. For example there is a base class like TBase = Class Protected Method1; Method2; Method3; Method4; End; I have two classes derived from TBase TDerived1 = Class(TBase) //Here i must access only Method1 and Method2 End; TDerived2 = Class(TBase) //Here i must access only Method3 and Method4 End; Then is it possible to access only Method1 and Method2 when i use objects of TDerived1 and Method3 and Method4 when i use objects of TDerived2

  • sql statement "into outfile" not working with jdbc

    - by Celeste Berus
I am attempting to add an "export to CSV" feature to a webapp that displays data from a MySQL database. I have a written a "queryExecuter" class to execute queries from my servlet. I have used this to successfully execute insert queries so I know the connection works etc however queries with the "into outfile" statement are simply not executing. • What does the C# compiler mean when it prints "an explicit conversion exists"?

    - by Wim Coenen
If I make an empty test class: public class Foo { } And I try to compile code with this statement: Foo foo = "test"; Then I get this error as expected: Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'ConsoleApplication1.Foo' However, if I change the declaration of Foo from class to interface, the error changes to this (emphasis mine): Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'ConsoleApplication1.Foo'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) What is this "explicit conversion" which is supposed to exist?

  • How to render an HTML attribute from a Razor view.

    - by ProfK
I would like to use the same partial view for create, edit, and details views, to avoid duplicating the fieldset structure for an entity. Then, depending on which view renders the partial view, I would like to add a class of "read-only" to a div surrounding my fieldset and handle making the actual input fields read-only on the client, using css or jQuery, or whatever. How can I specify from my Razor view that I need this class added to the "item-details" div? <div class="item-details"> <fieldset> <legend>Product Details</legend> @Html.HiddenFor(model => model.DetailItem.ProductId) <div class="editor-label"> @Html.LabelFor(model => model.DetailItem.Name) </div> <div class="editor-field"> @Html.EditorFor(model => model.DetailItem.Name) @Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.DetailItem.Name) </div> <p> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> </fieldset> </div>

  • asp.mvc model design

    - by Radu D
Hi, I am pretty new to MVC and I am looking for a way to design my models. I have the MVC web site project and another class library that takes care of data access and constructing the business objects. If I have in that assembly a class named Project that is a business object and I need to display all projects in a view ... should I make another model class Project? In this case the classes will be identical. Do I gain something from doing a new model class? I don't like having in views references to objects from another dll ... but i don't like duplicating the code neither. Did you encounter the same problem?

  • With NHibernate, how can I add a child object when updating a parent object?

    - by BMZ
    I have a simple Parent/Child relationship between a Person object and an Address object. The Person object exists in the DB. After doing a Get on the Person, I add a new Address object to the Address sub-object list of the parent, and do some other updates to the Person object. Finally, I do an Update on the Person object. With a SQL trace window, I can see the update to the Person object to the Person table and the Insert of the Address record to the Address table. The issue is that, after the update is performed, the AddressId (primary key on the Address object) is still set to 0, which is what it defaults to when you first initialize the Address object. I have verified that when I do an Add, this value is set correctly. Is this a known issue when trying to add sub-objects as part of an NHibernate UPDATE? Sample code and mapping files are below Thanks <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2"> <class name="BusinessEntities.Wellness.Person,BusinessEntities.Wellness" table="Person" lazy="true" dynamic-insert="true" dynamic-update="false"> <id name="Personid" column="PersonID" type="int"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <version type="binary" generated="always" name="RecordVersion" column="`RecordVersion`"/> <property type="int" not-null="true" name="Customerid" column="`CustomerID`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="9" name="Ssn" column="`SSN`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="30" name="FirstName" column="`FirstName`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="35" name="LastName" column="`LastName`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="1" name="MiddleInitial" column="`MiddleInitial`" /> <property type="DateTime" name="DateOfBirth" column="`DateOfBirth`" /> <bag name="PersonAddresses" inverse="true" lazy="true" cascade="all"> <key column="PersonID" /> <one-to-many class="BusinessEntities.Wellness.PersonAddress,BusinessEntities.Wellness" / </bag> </class> </hibernate-mapping> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2"> <class name="BusinessEntities.Wellness.PersonAddress,BusinessEntities.Wellness" table="PersonAddress" lazy="true" dynamic-insert="true" dynamic-update="false"> <id name="PersonAddressId" column="PersonAddressID" type="int"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <version type="binary" generated="always" name="RecordVersion" column="`RecordVersion`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="1" name="AddressTypeid" column="`AddressTypeID`" /> <property type="AnsiString" not-null="true" length="60" name="AddressLine1" column="`AddressLine1`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="60" name="AddressLine2" column="`AddressLine2`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="60" name="City" column="`City`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="2" name="UsStateId" column="`USStateID`" /> <property type="AnsiString" length="5" name="UsPostalCodeId" column="`USPostalCodeID`" /> <many-to-one name="Person" cascade="none" column="PersonID" /> </class> </hibernate-mapping> Person newPerson = new Person(); newPerson.PersonName = "John Doe"; newPerson.SSN = "111111111"; newPerson.CreatedBy = "RJC"; newPerson.CreatedDate = DateTime.Today; personDao.AddPerson(newPerson); Person updatePerson = personDao.GetPerson(newPerson.PersonId); updatePerson.PersonAddresses = new List<PersonAddress>(); PersonAddress addr = new PersonAddress(); addr.AddressLine1 = "1 Main St"; addr.City = "Boston"; addr.State = "MA"; addr.Zip = "12345"; updatePerson.PersonAddresses.Add(addr); personDao.UpdatePerson(updatePerson); int addressID = updatePerson.PersonAddresses[0].AddressId;

  • Is it ok to dynamic cast "this" as a return value?

    - by Panayiotis Karabassis
This is more of a design question. I have a template class, and I want to add extra methods to it depending on the template type. To practice the DRY principle, I have come up with this pattern (definitions intentionally omitted): template <class T> class BaseVector: public boost::array<T, 3> { protected: BaseVector<T>(const T x, const T y, const T z); public: bool operator == (const Vector<T> &other) const; Vector<T> operator + (const Vector<T> &other) const; Vector<T> operator - (const Vector<T> &other) const; Vector<T> &operator += (const Vector<T> &other) { (*this)[0] += other[0]; (*this)[1] += other[1]; (*this)[2] += other[2]; return *dynamic_cast<Vector<T> * const>(this); } } template <class T> class Vector : public BaseVector<T> { public: Vector<T>(const T x, const T y, const T z) : BaseVector<T>(x, y, z) { } }; template <> class Vector<double> : public BaseVector<double> { public: Vector<double>(const double x, const double y, const double z); Vector<double>(const Vector<int> &other); double norm() const; }; I intend BaseVector to be nothing more than an implementation detail. This works, but I am concerned about operator+=. My question is: is the dynamic cast of the this pointer a code smell? Is there a better way to achieve what I am trying to do (avoid code duplication, and unnecessary casts in the user code)? Or am I safe since, the BaseVector constructor is private?

  • TabHost disappears after locking the phone and reopening it:

    - by Emil Adz
I have a weird issue with my TabHost in my FragmentActivity that contains a ViewPager. The problem is that when I close my phone (press the power button) while I use my application, and then I turn back the phone and my application gets reopened, at this point my TabHost is missing. So the closing of my phone is causes the TabHost to disappear. My guess would be that I need to save my tabHost state in the saveInstanceState object, and restore it in onResume I only have no idea how it's done. here is my code for the FragmentActivity: public class TabsViewPagerFragmentActivity extends FragmentActivity implements ViewPager.OnPageChangeListener, TabHost.OnTabChangeListener { static final String TAG = TabsViewPagerFragmentActivity.class.getSimpleName(); • [PHP] Weird problem with dynamic method invocation

    - by Rolf
Hi everyone, this time, I'm facing a really weird problem. I've the following code: $xml = simplexml_load_file($this->interception_file); foreach($xml->children() as $class) { $path = str_replace('__CLASS_DIR__',CLASS_DIR,$class['path']); if(!is_file($path)) { throw new Exception('Bad configuration: file '.$path.' not found'); } $className = pathinfo($path,PATHINFO_FILENAME); foreach($class as $method) { $method_name = $method['name']; $obj = new $className(); var_dump(in_array($method_name,get_class_methods($className)));exit; echo $obj->$method_name();### not a method ??? } } As you can see, I get the class name and method name from an XML file. I can create an instance of the class without any problem. The var_dump at the end returns true, that means $method_name (which has 2 optional parameters) is a method of $className. BUT, and I am pretty sure the syntax is correct, when I try: $obj-$method_name() I get: Fatal error: Method name must be a string If you have any ideas, pleaaaaase tell me :) Thanks in advance, Rolf

  • Should my validator have access to my entire model?

    - by wb
As the title states I'm wondering if it's a good idea for my validation class to have access to all properties from my model. Ideally, I would like to do that because some fields require 10+ other fields to verify whether it is valid or not. I could but would rather not have functions with 10+ parameters. Or would that make the model and validator too coupled with one another? Here is a little example of what I mean. This code however does not work because it give an infinite loop! Class User Private m_UserID Private m_Validator Public Sub Class_Initialize() End Sub Public Property Let Validator(value) Set m_Validator = value m_Validator.Initialize(Me) End Property Public Property Get Validator() Validator = m_Validator End Property Public Property Let UserID(value) m_UserID = value End property Public Property Get UserID() UserID = m_Validator.IsUserIDValid() End property End Class Class Validator Private m_User Public Sub Class_Initialize() End Sub Public Sub Initialize(value) Set m_User = value End Sub Public Function IsUserIDValid() IsUserIDValid = m_User.UserID > 13 End Function End Class Dim mike : Set mike = New User mike.UserID = 123456 mike.Validator = New Validator Response.Write mike.UserID If I'm right and it is a good idea, how can I go a head and fix the infinite loop with the get property UserID? Thank you.

  • What is the best IDE to use with the Symfony framework?

    - by Failpunk
I'm looking for an IDE with use with the Symfony Framework. I have a bit of experience using the NetBeans 6.5 IDE but it does not always seem to complete the class methods, plus it doesn't seem to have any PHP code snippets built in. Here are the features I would ideally like to have, in order of importance, from an IDE: Code completion of all the Symfony and Propel class methods (I can never remember them) Code templates,(class skeletons, HTML structures, Symfony templates?) Straight-forward code debugging Source Control

  • how to model a follower stream in appengine?

    - by molicule
I am trying to design tables to buildout a follower relationship. Say I have a stream of 140char records that have user, hashtag and other text. Users follow other users, and can also follow hashtags. I am outlining the way I've designed this below, but there are two limitaions in my design. I was wondering if others had smarter ways to accomplish the same goal. The issues with this are The list of followers is copied in for each record If a new follower is added or one removed, 'all' the records have to be updated. The code class HashtagFollowers(db.Model): """ This table contains the followers for each hashtag """ hashtag = db.StringProperty() followers = db.StringListProperty() class UserFollowers(db.Model): """ This table contains the followers for each user """ username = db.StringProperty() followers = db.StringListProperty() class stream(db.Model): """ This table contains the data stream """ username = db.StringProperty() hashtag = db.StringProperty() text = db.TextProperty() def save(self): """ On each save all the followers for each hashtag and user are added into a another table with this record as the parent """ super(stream, self).save() hfs = HashtagFollowers.all().filter("hashtag =", self.hashtag).fetch(10) for hf in hfs: sh = streamHashtags(parent=self, followers=hf.followers) sh.save() ufs = UserFollowers.all().filter("username =", self.username).fetch(10) for uf in ufs: uh = streamUsers(parent=self, followers=uf.followers) uh.save() class streamHashtags(db.Model): """ The stream record is the parent of this record """ followers = db.StringListProperty() class streamUsers(db.Model): """ The stream record is the parent of this record """ followers = db.StringListProperty() Now, to get the stream of followed hastags indexes = db.GqlQuery("""SELECT __key__ from streamHashtags where followers = 'myusername'""") keys = [k,parent() for k in indexes[offset:numresults]] return db.get(keys) Is there a smarter way to do this?
