  • Iterating through folders and files in batch file?

    Here's my situation. A project has as objective to migrate some attachments to another system. These attachments will be located to a parent folder, let's say "Folder 0" (see this question's diagram for better understanding), and they will be zipped/compressed. I want my batch script to be called like so: BatchScript.bat "c:\temp\usd\Folder 0" I'm using 7za.exe as the command line extraction tool. What I want my batch script to do is to iterate through the "Folder 0"'s subfolders, and extract all of the containing ZIP files into their respective folder. It is obligatory that the files extracted are in the same folder as their respective ZIP files. So, files contained in "File 1.zip" are needed in "Folder 1" and so forth. I have read about the FOR...DO command on Windows XP Professional Product Documentation - Using Batch Files. Here's my script: @ECHO OFF FOR /D %folder IN (%%rootFolderCmdLnParam) DO FOR %zippedFile IN (*.zip) DO 7za.exe e %zippedFile I guess that I would also need to change the actual directory before calling 7za.exe e %zippedFile for file extraction, but I can't figure out how in this batch file (through I know how in command line, and even if I know it is the same instruction "cd"). Anyone's help is gratefully appreciated.

  • 403 Forbidden When Using AuthzSVNAccessFile

    I've had a nicely functioning svn server running on windows that uses Apache for access. In the original setup every user had access to all repositories, but I recently needed the ability to grant a user only access to one repository. I uncommented the AuthzSVNAccessFile line in my httpd.conf file and pointed it to an accessfile and setup the access file, but I get a 403 Forbidden when I go to mydomain.com/svn . If I recomment out this line then things work again. I also made sure I uncommented the LoadModule authz_svn_module and verified that it was point to the correct file. Below is the Location section of my httpd.conf and my svnaccessfile httpd.conf (location section only) <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNParentPath C:\svn SVNListParentPath on AuthType Basic AuthName "Subversion repositories" AuthUserFile passwd Require valid-user AuthzSVNAccessFile svnaccessfile </Location> (I want a more complex policy in the long run but just did this to test the file out) svnaccessfile [svn:/] * = rw I have also tried just the below for the svnaccessfile. [/] * = rw I also restart the service after each change just to make sure it is taken.

  • Which ports are needed for NTLM (Windows Authentication) to connect to SQL Server?

    I've got SQL server running on a machine which is not in a domain, and which is not operating in mixed mode (it's running with "Windows Authentication"). I'm trying to connect to it from a Linux web server running freetds via TCP/IP, using NTLM to authenticate. The firewall on the SQL server is very restrictive. 1433 is open to my web server, but I'm getting conflicting information from the web on what additional ports (TCP/UDP) are needed for NTLM to succeed. It is currently fail; I can talk on 1433 to request NTLM, but the actual authentication always fails. One source says 137, 138, 139, but those are just the NetBIOS ports. Do I really need those? Another source says 135. Still others seem to say 1434... I can't make heads or tails of it. Dammit Jim, I'm a programmer, not a network administrator! EDIT: The exact error message: Msg 18452, Level 14, State 1, Server , Line 0 Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. Msg 20002, Level 9, State -1, Server OpenClient, Line -1 Adaptive Server connection failed I am attempting to connect with a remote machine username, i.e. 'servername\username'. Some sources recommend that I set up mirrored accounts on the local and remote machines, but the local machine is running Linux, not IIS under Windows.

  • Building a Media Center PC with Comcast Cable...?

    Alright - so this might be a stupid question but I've never been all that much into TV. I currently have Comcast cable. I've just got the 'basic' 2-60 package or whatever; I've just always plugged the cable into the back of my TV. I've never had a cable box. Recently, Comcast has been pulling channels off of my line-up. Most recently, the stole the TV Guide channel from me. I'm told this is part of a push to get customers to switch to their digital line-up. But, I'm also told it requires some sort of digital receiver for each TV you've got. I don't want to buy a bunch of these digital receivers and I don't want to pay the monthly rental fee...but I have heard of how awesome media center PCs are and some really cool things they can do. And, I've got loads of PC parts sitting around. So, can someone guide me through this a bit? Are there computer video cards or TV tuners that are going to work with Comcast's digital cable? What kind of price range are we looking at?

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 - Cannot create database snapshot

    Server: Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 Enterprise SQL: SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise X64 I have a default SQL Server instance, the SQL Server service account is running as a domain user. I am trying to create a database snapshot in the directory where the mdf files are stored. The T-SQL syntax is correct. The file system is NTFS. The error message I get is: Msg 1823, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 A database snapshot cannot be created because it failed to start. Msg 5119, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot make the file "e:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\TestDB.ss" a sparse file. Make sure the file system supports sparse files. The local SQLServerMSSQLUser$db$MSSQLSERVER group has Full Control permission on the folder where I am trying to create the snapshot. I can fix the problem in two ways, neither of which are suitable. Add the SQL Server service (domain) account to the local Administrators group and restart the SQL service. Grant the local SQLServerMSSQLUser$db$MSSQLSERVER group Full control on E:\ I have tried to change the owner of the DATA directory to SQLServerMSSQLUser$db$MSSQLSERVER to no avail. I have no issue creating a new database Why can I not create a snapshot by giving permission only on the DATA folder? Update 23/09/2010: I have tried mrdenny's suggestion with no luck (but learned something new in the process), I suspect the problem may be due to the fact that the domain is a windows 2000 domain running in mixed mode. I had to install hotfix KB976494 for Server 2008 R2, as the SQL Server 2008 R2 installer would not verify the service account correctly with the domain. I noticed that Server 2000 isn't a supported operating system for SQL 2008 R2 but cannot find anything that would suggest it shouldn't work in a 2000 domain. I dis-joined the test server from the domain and changed the service accounts to the local service account and I still have the same issue. I will try to re-install the server without joining the domain and without the hotfix and see if the issue persists.

When receiving e-mails from google (google apps with own domain) for example, the header looks like this: [...] Authentication-Results: mail.xx.de; dkim=pass reason="1024-bit key; insecure key" header.d=yyy.com [email protected] header.b=OswLe0N+; dkim-adsp=pass; dkim-atps=neutral<br> [...] Authentication-Results: mail.xx.de; spf=pass (sender SPF authorized) smtp.mailfrom=yyy.com (client-ip=2a00:1450:400c:c00::242; helo=mail-wg0-x242.google.com; [email protected]; [email protected]) [...] Authentication-Results: mail.xx.de; dmarc=pass header.from=yyy.com<br> [...] This means any of these programs creates it's own Authentication-Results:-Line. Is it possible to tell postfix to merge this into one single Authentication-Results:-Line? When I send an e-mail to google, it says: [...] Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=pass (google.com: domain of [email protected] designates xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx as permitted sender) [email protected]; dkim=pass [email protected]; dmarc=pass (p=NONE dis=NONE) header.from=xxx.com [...] And this is exactly what I want.     I recently replaced my motherboard after the last one failed (was shorting and causing random reboots). I'm sure this was not healthy for the machine, and that a clean install would do wonders, but I'd like to fix the current install. That aside, I've been tracking down a pair of errors in the application log. Operation: Query volumes supported by this provider Context: Provider ID: {b5946137-7b9f-4925-af80-51abd60b20d5} Snapshot Context: 29 Followed by Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine Error calling CreateFile on volume '\?\Volume{f4bda86e-049d-11e1-9255-bcaec56690a1}\'. hr = 0x80070020, The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This error is reproducible at command line, creating the two event log entries C:\Windows\system32>vssadmin list volumes vssadmin 1.1 - Volume Shadow Copy Service administrative command-line tool (C) Copyright 2001-2005 Microsoft Corp. Error: The shadow copy provider had an unexpected error while trying to process the specified command. Using WinObj from Sysinternals, I have tracked down the global object. '\?\Volume{f4bda86e-049d-11e1-9255-bcaec56690a1}\' - SymbolicLink - '\Device\HarddiskVolume8' Running DISKPART, and running the command "list volume" within it lists volumes 0 through 6, there is not a HarddiskVolume8. How can I remove this reference to HarddiskVolume8, and get shadow copy up and running?

  • Windows 8, IIS8 how to make PHP imagick work

    I'm new to IIS server before IIS for 6 years I used Apache 2.X and with Apache imageMagick and its PHP module imagick worked just fine even with x64 version of PHP and Apache 2.4 and imageMagick. I tried to make imagick to work with IIS8 but it wont work. I always get the typical PHP startup warning in my log PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\iis express\PHP\v5.4\ext\php_imagick.dll' - %1 is not a valid Win32 application. in Unknown on line 0 And the next thing why is IIS loading php from IIS express folder if I have php in the program files? But actually I dont care until it works :) So what I did so far I unistalled imageMagick 6.7.X 64bit version and installed the latest x86 version, tested it in command line and it worked, than I looked up on net the latest imagick DLL which was I think the 3.1.0RC2 (founded here http://www.peewit.fr/imagick/) than I copied the dll to PHP's ext folder than edited php.ini and added the imagick to the dynamic extensions after that I restarted IIS and than nothing :( I got the error which I wrote earlier. Today I installed PEAR package Installer because I read somewhere that someone made it work with it but he also mentioned, that he needed to comply wincache too. Isn't there any easier solutions to make it work? Could someone maybe write me a step by step guide how to make this work.

    I have a Perl program named /usr/bin/octbatch running as a script on Fedora 17 Linux. When I run this command: /usr/bin/octbatch I get the error: Can't locate Time/Piece.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5) at /usr/bin/octbatch line 6. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/octbatch line 6. Here is the relevant lines of the Perl script: #!/usr/bin/perl -wT $ENV{PATH} = "/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin"; use strict; use POSIX qw(setsid :sys_wait_h); use Time::Piece; use Time::Local; I have to install Piece.pm so perl can find it. I've already installed it with this command (using the defaults): /usr/bin/perl -MCPAN -e install Time::Piece I have the Piece.pm file in /home/el/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/ however when I run the octbatch command I get the same error as above. Like it can't even find it. Here is my PERL5LIB variable: el@defiant ~/gnuoctbluehost/single_stock_analysis $ env | grep PERL5 PERL5LIB=/home/el/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi:/home/el/perl5/lib/perl5 And the Piece.pm is located under /home/el/perl5/lib/perl5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi So my question is, Why is it not finding my Piece.pm file? And what are the ways I can get the @INC variable to include it. Or how do I make perl see it?

  • Loop through several servers, find specific dlls , get the dll version, internal filename and path?

    I am a newby to Powershell, and using PS v2. I can see the massive potential it has, but I just can't get the following code to work fully. I am trying to end up with a csv file that contains the wild carded required dlls in the GAC_MSIL or sub-directory, get the dll version, internal filename and path, and the server IP address. The code is below, and it is in single line format because it appears easier to remote onto one of the servers in the server farm and run the single line from that console, ue to security log-ins etc. The code has produced a set of results, but only for the last server, it probably does the first server, then overwrites it but I am not sure about that. I have done a lot of reading about using arrays, and custom objects, and had a go at doing that, but my scripting skills in PS are not yet up to it.   • Wrong CSS mime type with Roundcube 0.5 beta and nginx

    I'm running into a CSS problem. This is a setup based on Debian Squeeze (nginx/0.7.67, php5/cgi) on which I installed the latest Roundcube 0.5 beta. PHP is properly processed, login works fine but the CSS files are not loaded and Firefox is throwing the following errors: Error: The stylesheet https://webmail.example.net:10443/roundcube/skins/default/common.css?s=1290600165 was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css". Source File: https://webmail.example.net:10443/roundcube/?_task=login Line: 0 Error: The stylesheet https://webmail.example.net:10443/roundcube/skins/default/mail.css?s=1290156319 was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css". Source File: https://webmail.example.net:10443/roundcube/?_task=login Line: 0 As far as I understand, nginx doesn't see the .css extension (because ofthe ?s= argument) and thus set the mime type with the default value, being text/html. Should I fix this in nginx (and how ?) or is it roundcube's related ? Edit: It seems that it's nginx related. The content-type isn't set for any other type than text/html. I had to include manually the following declarations to force CSS and JS content-types. That's ugly, and I never had the problem before... any idea ? location ~ \.css { add_header Content-Type text/css; } location ~ \.js { add_header Content-Type application/x-javascript; }

    This is the third post in a series related to build and deployment considerations as I’ve been exploring MVC Portable Areas: #1 – Using Web Application Project to build portable areas #2 – Conventions for deploying portable area static files #3 – Portable area static files as embedded resources In the last post, I walked through a convention for managing static files.  In this post I’ll discuss another approach to manage static files (e.g., images, css, js, etc.).  With this approach, you *also* compile the static files as embedded resources into the assembly similar to the *.aspx pages. Once again, you can set this to happen automatically by simply modifying your *.csproj file to include the desired extensions so you don’t have to remember every time you add a file: 1: <Target Name="BeforeBuild"> 2: <ItemGroup> 3: <EmbeddedResource Include="**\*.aspx;**\*.ascx;**\*.gif;**\*.css;**\*.js" /> 4: </ItemGroup> 5: </Target> We now need a reliable way to serve up these static files that are embedded in the assembly. However, since we are now embedding the files inside the assembly, we no longer have to worry about the physical path. We can change this line of code to this: 1: <img src="<%: Url.Resource("Widget1.images.arrow.gif") %>" /> Hello World! Note that I had to fully quality the resource name (with namespace and physical location) since that is how .NET assemblies store embedded resources. I also created my own Url helper method called Resource which looks like this: 1: public static string Resource(this UrlHelper urlHelper, string resourceName) 2: { 3: var areaName = (string)urlHelper.RequestContext.RouteData.DataTokens["area"]; 4: return urlHelper.Action("Index", "Resource", new { resourceName = resourceName, area = areaName }); 5: } This method gives us the convenience of not having to know how to construct the URL – but just allowing us to refer to the resource name. The resulting html for the image tag is: 1: <img src="/widget1/resource/Widget1.images.arrow.gif" /> so we can always request any image from the browser directly. This is almost analogous to the WebResource.axd file but for MVC. What is interesting though is that we can encapsulate each one of these so that each area can have it’s own set of resources and they are easily distinguished because the area name is the first segment of the route. This makes me wonder if something like this ResourceController should be baked into portable areas itself. I’m definitely interested in anyone has any opinions on it or have taken alternative approaches.

  • unable to destroy windows 2008 r2 failover cluster after SAN rebuild

    I created a windows 2008 r2 failover cluster for a sql 2008 active/passive cluster. This two node cluster was using a SAN device for a quorum disk resource as well as MSDTC resource. Well....I decided to reconfigure the SAN device, but I didn't destroy the cluster first. Now that the quorum disk and mstdc disk are completely gone, the cluster is obviously not working. But, I can't even destroy the cluster and start again. I've tried from the Windows Clustering tool, as well as the command line. I was able to get the cluster service to start using the "/fixquorum" parameter. After doing this I was able to remove the passive node from the cluster, but it wouldn't let me destroy the cluster because the default resource group and msdtc are still attached as resources. I tried to delete these resources from both the GUI tool, as well as command line. It will either freeze for several minutes and crash the program, or once it even BSOD'd the server. Can someone advise on how to destroy this cluster so I can start over?

  • Command prompt hangs/freezes/crashes sporadically

    I'm finding it very difficult to Google this, I don't seem to be able to find anyone with the same issue and I don't know enough about the Windows operating system to troubleshoot. The machine(s) we are seeing the problem on are Windows 7 (professional) both 64bit and 32bit. The problem is with the command prompt freezing up, seemingly randomly. When it does freeze nothing will bring it back to life (i.e. keypress) and it's nothing to do with Quick Insert mode either. It doesn't seem to be when I run standard commands, such as cd, dir, etc, but when I run different programs from the command line. The annoying thing is that sometimes the prompt will freeze and at other times it won't, using the same program/command in the prompt. To add to the frustration, one of my colleagues who had the same problem seems to not have experienced it for a few days now (we're pretty heavy on the command line). It's not a VPN/RDP thing as suggested in other questions and forum posts, as I've seen this both locally and remotely. I thought it was to do with the return code signifying an error or some error state in the program, i.e.: C:\Users\leonardc>mysql -u lalala ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'lalala'@'localhost' (using password: NO) but this isn't always the case either. In fact the above command hasn't crashed the shell before. Elevating the prompt to run as Administrator doesn't seem to have any bearing on the problem either. Disabling my anti-virus doesn't have an effect either. Update: I tried the same commands in PowerShell, but I still get the same problem, it will freeze at random times (more often than not, as with the command prompt, but not always). It's not the same as command prompt in the fact that one might work while the other doesn't, but then the next time I try run the same command in both it will suddenly be different again.

  • Server error 500: Undefinable problem with my Zend Framework based site

    Hello everyone, Lately I had to reinstall my development site on my ubuntu machine since my system crashed after an os update. 4 days later my site is still not running as it should. Whenever i do an action which has in it an action on a database, it stops working.   • Dos/ Flood Lag even though Port not Saturated

    My GameServers had been under some UDP Floods due to which they generated outputs to the attacker which gave the GameServers some huge lags. Thanks to friends at ServerFault that upon different kind of testing, I was able to successfully block the attack. My question is actually something else but it is important to know how the GameServers reacted to the attack and if the machine kept stable or not: 300kb/s Input would cause GameServer to generate 2mb/s Output. So as the Input Rate kept increasing, output rate would reach so high that it would no longer be possible for the GameServer to control it and hence it would give a huge Lag until the attack is stopped. Usually the game server starts to lag when it sends out something greater than 5mb/s and under that is controllable. Theoretically, I was able to receive a 60mb/s output from my GameServer on inputting 10mb/s. Its just the way the GameServer works if not protected. Now on some of my machines, only the GameServer under attack lagged and although the server was generating 60mb/s output, rest of the gameservers on other ports would run fine without lags on the same machine. But there was another machine which also runs on a 100 MBPS Network port, even 1 mbps input ( and ZERO output because attack is blocked ) even on an unused port would give a constant yellow line ( on the Lag-o-Meter ) to all the clients on all GameServers indicating lag because that line is actually blue under normal conditions. It would remain the same even on 50mbps or 900mbps input. I tried contacting the host about it because I believe its the way their Network is bridged, but they can't help me about it. Anyone else knowing about such issues because if 900mbps input does not Saturate the port, how can 1mbps input lag the servers although port is not saturated and enough bandwidth is available?

  • Karmic iptables missing kernel moduyles on OpenVZ container

    After an unsuccessful p2v migration of my Ubuntu server to an OpenVZ container which I am stack with I thought I would give a try to a reinstall based on a clean OpenVZ template for Ubuntu 9.10 (from the OpenVZ wiki) When I try to load my iptables rules on the VM machine I've been getting errors which I believe are related to kernel modules not being loaded on the VM from the /vz/XXX.conf template model. I've been testing with a few post I've found but I was stack with the error: WARNING: Deprecated config file /etc/modprobe.conf, all config files belong into /etc/modprobe.d/. FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.24-10-pve/modules.dep: No such file or directory iptables-restore v1.4.4: iptables-restore: unable to initialize table 'raw' Error occurred at line: 2 Try `iptables-restore -h' or 'iptables-restore --help' for more information. I read about the template not loading all iptables modules so I added modules to the XXX.conf of the VZ virtual machine like this: IPTABLES="ip_tables iptable_filter iptable_mangle ipt_limit ipt_multiport ipt_tos ipt_TOS ipt_REJECT ipt_TCPMSS ipt_tcpmss ipt_ttl ipt_LOG ipt_length ip_conntrack ip_conntrack_ftp ip_conntrack_irc ipt_conntrack ipt_state ipt_helper iptable_nat ip_nat_ftp ip_nat_irc" As the error remained I read that I should build dependencies again on the virtual machine: depmod -a but this returned an error: WARNING: Couldn't open directory /lib/modules/2.6.24-10-pve: No such file or directory FATAL: Could not open /lib/modules/2.6.24-10-pve/modules.dep.temp for writing: No such file or directory So I read again about creating the directory empty and redoing "depmod -a" it. I've heard that on the CentOS template there are no issues with this, so I understand is to do with VM config. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am very new to Oracle, and trying to restore a oracle 8i database on win 2000 server. I have one week old database backup (backup taken with exp command), and i want to restore it now. Now I am unable to login through sqlplus (got shutdown in progress error) I have a backup and i want to restore it, but oracle is not starting at all, and 'imp' command is failing. I started sqlplus / as sysdba and following is the log of what i am trying to do. Can some one guide me further. SQL> shutdown immediate; ORA-01109: database not open Database dismounted.   • Securely executing system commands as sudo from PHP

    Is it possible? I have written a command line tool in PHP for creating new environments for our company. It creates system users, directories, databases, VHosts and restarts apache, amongst other things. These commands require sudo privileges. I thought it might be a nice idea to have a web-interface for it, to make it easier for other non-developers to use. The web app would be behind authentication. When running from the command line I just run sudo tool.php, obviously I can't do this from a web app. How could I do this securely? Giving the apache user sudo access seems silly, as this would means all sites hosted on the box (eg all our environments) would have sudo access. Is it possible to make this tool run under a different user? this user could have sudo privileges for only the commands I need? How do things like plesk and cPanel do this? Any thoughts?
