    I'm trying to alert a message when the browser is resized or scrolled. I'm detecting the 2 events in the body <body onResize="doDisp();" onScroll="doDisp();" > where doDisp is this inside the <script> tag <script type="text/javascript"> function doDisp(){ alert("browser changing state"); } </script> but isn't it bad practice to have javascript in the body tag? Is there a cross-browser way to keep all the javascript inside the <script> tags?

  • .Net forms - intercepting the Close X event.

    Hi, this must be a dumb question, but I cannot figure it out. I also cannot use the designer because coders before me managed to throw GUI and logic all in one, so now it is confused. I've got to do it the old school way. I have a Form which can be closed in 3 ways: Close button, File / Close menu, and the X icon. I want them all to do the same thing. Intercepting the button and the menu events is easy. In fact, both are hooked up to an onCloseConfig method. Btw, is there a better name for this method? private void onCloseConfig(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { if (! m_configControl.Modified) { Application.Exit(); // Or should it be this.Close(); } .... // Else present a dialog, ask if they want to save. } So, to intercept the X I tried: this.FormClosing +=new FormClosingEventHandler(this.onCloseConfig); I believe this is what causes an infinite loop. I do not want that :) FormClosed is another option, but it seems too late. I just want to intercept the fact that the X was clicked, not the fact that the form is closing. Please help. Thanks!

  • iPhone - At user event create objects in the view

    Hello, I am new to iPhone programming, so I think part of the problem is that I don't know what I really want to google to find my answer. I am looking for a method that allows a user to draw a line on the screen. There is no guarantee that it will be straight, it can be curved or whatever. I was thinking that I could create some small square image, and then as they draw, place them into a NSset. But I am not really sure how to communicate each new object up to the view. Up to this point, I've just been messing around with objects I put on the view and then assign movement to those, this is my first jump into on-the-fly object creation. It might be that I just need to jump into a class/object type or even a tutorial, any guidance would be great. Thanks!

  • Catch/Raise event on table data update C#

    Hi, I have 24/7 service which keeps setup (configuration data) for charging, routing and etc in the Sql Server. Once it is started it loads the data from table using Linq2SQL and use the data through all the application. And we need a solution to update the setup data in the table without restarting the application. So I am interested is it possible to catch/determine that the table was updated so I can refresh the setup data in the application. I mean is it possible to have events which will raise when there is any delete, update or insert on the table. Thank you.

  • KineticJS issue with repeatable mouse event

    I have noob issue here (i obviously missing something). I simplified it from my bigger application: When i click blue rectangle, i add another layer to the stage that includes red rectangle (clickable), when i clik this red rectangle it removes second layer with red rect. Problem: When i click blue rect second time, nothing happens :( i.e. app works only once, and i need to add/remove second layer(with red rect) repeatedly. I want to set a specific tab page to show on load of the form everytime i load the form I used TabPageControl1.SelectedTab=MyTabPage; but the value of selectedtab is null.   • Javascript onchange event doesn't change div content

  • DocumentCompleted event when the page is fully loaded in WebBrowser form (Windows Forms C#)

    I use the DocumentCompleted but this gets fired multiple times. Now I've seen this example if (e.Url.AbsolutePath != this.webBrowser.Url.AbsolutePath) which is used to confirm that the requested file is completed loading but this gets fired before anything else (like images) on the page is loaded. Thus I'm still not able to tell when a webpage is fully loaded. Is there a way to ensure that the webpage has fully loaded and there's nothing being loaded?

    Welcome to OpenWorld! OpenWorld 2012 got underway today with a series of meetings with the members of the WebCenter Customer Advisory Board. Led by the WebCenter Product Management team, these meetings are a great way for the product team and customers to directly interact and discuss real-life business challenges, product details and to discuss upcoming features and functionality. This year, board members participated in discussions around live demos around product enhancements that will be featured throughout the coming week. Highlights included a variety of new mobile and social solutions, a great new user interface for WebCenter Content plus new Portal and Sites functionality that makes the experience for the everyday user a lot more pleasant. The day kicked off with Roel Stalman, VP of Product Management, giving a detailed overview of what’s new in WebCenter. Given all the improvements to discuss, this session went over 2 hours! Roel showcased the brand new UI for Content, Portal and Sites. He also gave live demos of the new mobile apps for WebCenter Content, Portal and the Oracle Social Network.  The attendees then broke into sub-groups in order to deep-dive with Product Management for the Portal, Sites, and Content product areas on specific functionality and application integrations. If you are here in San Francisco this week for OpenWorld, I definitely recommend stopping by the WebCenter area in the Moscone West Exhibition Hall to see some of this new functionality for yourself.   • Policy Administration is the Top 2011 IT Priority for Insurers

    The current issue of Insurance Networking News includes an interesting column by Novarica's Matt Josefowicz.  Recent research by the firm revealed that policy administration replacement or extension is the most common strategic IT project for insurers this year.  The article goes on to note that insurers are keenly focused on the business capabilities that can be delivered once the system is in production as well as the ability to leverage agile development methodologies and true business/IT collaboration during implementation.
