• Asp.net text box is only returning the first value

  C sharp newbie question...I have a simple asp.net form that has a textbox that collects phonenumbers to send SMS messages. If I bypass the form and hardcode the numbers using the following format: "2133211234",#1233211234" the code works fine. However when i try to use this same format using my form, the sms will ONLY send to the first number. I have a feeling i'm missing out on some property on my form that will accept all of the values. also any idea how how i can add some lines of code that will allow users to enter numbers like this: 3123211234,4123212344 and have it converted to the format above when the number is submitted? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

• EF4, MVC 3, Azure and Code First or Traditional

  I am planning to build a web application using ASP MVC3 that runs on Azure with a SQL Azure back end. I would like to use the Microsoft stack and have no plans to ever change to another stack. I am looking into the use of WCF and WF but that would be in the future. I looked at the traditional and Code First approach to using Entity Framework but I can't see if there is any advantage in using one or the other approach. Sure they each have advantages but for me I don't care if my classes do inherit from EF classes. All I want is to find the most efficient solution. Can anyone out there give me some advice as to which approach might be the best. thanks very much Richard

• Regex to match the first file in a rar archive file set in Python

  I need to uncompress all the files in a directory and for this I need to find the first file in the set. I'm currently doing this using a bunch of if statements and loops. Can i do this this using regex? Here's a list of files that i need to match: yes.rar yes.part1.rar yes.part01.rar yes.part001.rar yes.r01 yes.r001 These should NOT be matched: no.part2.rar no.part02.rar no.part002.rar no.part011.rar no.r002 no.r02 I found a similar regex on this thread but it seems that Python doesn't support varible length lookarounds. A single line regex would be complicated but I'll document it well and it's not a problem. It's just one of those problems you beat your heap up, over. Thanks in advance guys. :)

  I have multiple custom controls used on a ASPX (and C#) page registered from within the page rather than in Web.Config. On the first build (or rebuild), build fails with error messages for wherever I've used the custom controls. Subsequent builds are successful. The error message: Unknown server tag 'prefix:ExampleControl'. What might cause this, and how can I fix it? I'm pretty sure I know what I have to do (find how to get Label's instance) just not how to do it. Could someone help me understand how to make this work?

• ComboBox.SelectionChanged doesn't catch the first selection

  I need to fill textboxes depending on the item selected in a combobox. I fill combo async and in Completed event I have the following code combo.ItemsSource = e.Result; combo.DisplayMemberPath = "Name"; combo.SelectedIndex = -1; Then in the SelectionChanged event of the combo, I catch the selected object MyClass mc= ((ComboBox)sender).SelectedItem as MyClass; tbxName.Text = mc.Name; ... However, when I load the project and select any event for the 1st time, NOTHING happens. Every other time (2nd, 3rd, nth) the data is correctly caught and displayed. So I need to know why the combo doesn't catch the first selection? That's the reason I have the code combo.SelectedIndex = -1 (when the app loads, combo is empty - selection -1 works).

• Cannot format first column in WxPython's ListCtrl

  If I set the format of the first column in a ListCtrl to align centre (or align right) nothing happens. It works for the other columns. This only happens on Windows - I have tested it on Linux and it works fine. Does anyone know if there is a work-round or other solution? • Objective C: Create arrays from first array based on value

  I have an array of strings that are comma separated such as: Steve Jobs,12,CA Fake Name,21,CA Test Name,22,CA Bill Gates,44,WA Bill Nye,21,OR I have those values in an NSScanner object so that I can loop through the values and get each comma seperated value using objectAtIndex. So, what I would like to do, is group the array items into new arrays, based on a value, in this case, State. So, from those, I need to loop through, checking which state they are in, and push those into a new array, one array per state. CA Array: Steve Jobs,12,CA Fake Name,21,CA Test Name,22,CA WA Array: Bill Gates,44,WA OR Array: Bill Nye,21,OR So in the end, I would have 3 new arrays, one for each state. Also, if there were additional states used in the first array, those should have new arrays created also. Any help would be appreciated!

  Hi, I have a TreeVIew WPF with 2 Levels of Data. I have deleted the ToogleButton from the TreeViewItemTemplate. Now I'd like to expand / collapse the groups with a single mouse-click (not with a double click as the default behaviour).   Can anybody help me with retrieving some elements from the following example text: sdfaasdflj asdfjl;a AB-12/34 BC-/85 CD-//8 DD-77 DE-78/9 EE-78-98 asdf; asdjf It is necessary to get the following elements: AB-12/34, BC-/85, CD-//8, DD-77, DE-78/9 When I'm using a regular expression like this: \s*(?<elements>\b[A-Z]{2}-[/0-9]+\b) everything works fine - all the necessary elements are being retrieved (except for the EE element are amonth them, but it doesn't matter). The problem is that this line is a part of a more complex regex, so when I'm trying to apply a regex like this: (?s).*\sas.*? \s*(?<elements>\b[A-Z]{2}-[/0-9]+\b)*.* .*as It only returns me just the first AB-12/34 element and nothing else. How to correct the regex to get all the elements? TIA.

  I am working on a CMS platform with limited access to the template files and want to try and control some of the layout with pseudo class but no luck yet. Can anyone see what is wrong with this structure and why my pseudo class is being ignored? <div id="main"> <div class="someRandomDiv"></div> <div class="block"> stuff </div> <div class="block"> more stuff </div> </div> and i am trying something like this #main .block {border: 1px solid blue} #main .block:first-child {border: 1px solid red} so with this example I would think the stuff block would have a red border and more stuff would have a blue but it is all just blue.   I need an efficient way of removing items from list. If some condition happens, I need to remove first 'n' elements from a list. Can some one suggest the best way to do this? Please keep in mind: performance is a factor for me, so I need a faster way than itterating. Thanks. I'm thinking of a way through which the 'n'th item can be made as the starting of the list so that the 0-n items will get garbage collected. Is it possible?

• Facebook Javascript SDK: First time logging in

  I'm currently integrating Facebook with my website using the Javascript SDK. I've got the login portion working well. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way to tell if it was the first time the user logged into my website using their Facebook credientials. I tried subscribing to auth.login, but that didn't seem to have any information about that. Is there a flag anywhere that lets me know this? Or another way to go about looking this up? I realize I could do some server side code, but I'd prefer to stay away from that if possible. Thanks in advance, Brandon

• JQuery Autocomplete only suggesting first row

  I'm doing research using JQuery's Autocomplete plugin and Google Maps' API. What I have so far is located here. I'm using Asp.net MVC to generate the list of potential address matches (limited to US addresses only) and presenting them as a pipe-delimeted list to Autocomplete, which is supposed to be .spliting them up and suggesting them to the user. The problem I'm having (besides a stubborn IE-only javascript error, which I'll break into another question), is that only the first result is suggested. This page clearly shows two results, yet typing "3118" into the textbox produces only the Galax Dr result. How can I get Automplete to produce both results?

  I have an app with three tabs that switch views instantaneously when the user taps them. The first view is a table view selecting which 'location type' to filter by, to only show those pins (add those annotations) to the second view, a MapView. When a table cell is clicked, it switches instantaneously to the mapview, using this code: self.tabBarController.selectedIndex=1; However, I would like to do this with a slide-in-from-right animation, like the one you get when drilling down a hierarchy of table views. I tried this: [self.navigationController pushViewController:[self.tabBarController.viewControllers objectAtIndex:1] animated:YES]; which compiles without error or warning, but does not switch views. How do I 'apply' a navigation controller 'onto' a tab bar controller? Or is there some way to select another viewcontroller and specify an animation?

  in a form i have a buttoin, when click both OnclientClick and postback should happen. on clicking the "Email" button a client side "mailto" tag should do the work and pull a new message window on the client's machine. whereas, the email addresses should be invoked by the post back. so , when clicking the button the server side post should happen and on return the client side script should be invokded with the values read during post back, and populate all the email addresses. i need know how to first do a server hit take the values and then execute the client script with those values without using AJAX

• UIView animation doesn't work first time

When I call the search method for the first time, the view appears very quickly with some weird animation, when I call it again, the animation is alright. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong?

  I have a web application where the first request may take a few seconds as some singletons are initialised. I've used the mod_proxy and jsvc construction mentioned in this question and described on this page to connect apache with tomcat (data is served via SSL) For the sample Tomcat application, everything works as it should.   Ok, I have an array like so: $myArray[32]['value'] = 'value1'; $myArray[32]['type'] = 'type1'; $myArray[33]['value'] = 'value2'; $myArray[33]['type'] = 'type2'; $myArray[35]['value'] = 'value3'; $myArray[42]['value'] = 'value4'; $myArray[42]['type'] = 'type4'; Ok, looking for a quick way to change all numbers in the first key 32, 33, 35, and 42 into 0, 1, 2, and 3 instead. But I need to preserve the 2nd key and all of the values. The array is already ordered correctly, since I ordered it using a ksort, but now I need to reset the array from 0 - count($myArray) - 1 and keep the 2nd key intact and its value as well. Can someone please help me?

• jqgrid - edit form field combobox not defaulting to selected row value after first edit

  i am using jqgrid with asp.net-mvc. I have an edit form (using jqmodal) which works great but for some reason one combobox field doesn't default to the current selected row after the first time i bring up the edit form. the weird thing is that i have many other comboboxes which work fine every time and i don't see any real difference. here is an example of the field that doesn't work: { name: "TechOwner", index: "TechOwner", width: 70, editable: true, edittype: "select", editoptions: { dataUrl: "/Person/GetSelectData" }, editrules: { required: true} }, and here is a field that works fine: { name: "FundingType", index: "FundingType", align: "left", width: 25, editable: true, edittype: "select", editoptions: { dataUrl: "/Project/FundingGetSelectData" }, editrules: { required: true} }, the dropdown is getting populated with all options (including the current selected row option) but its just defaulting to the top item) instead of one that matches the current row. is there anything to look out for here that may cause this behavior?

• UITableView via NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate, select first record by default?

  I have a UITableView that gets populated from CoreData via a controller that implements NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate. How can I have it automatically select the first row (and fire the tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath message)? The tableview is used for a variety of predicate queries, so I'm suspicious of solutions that work on the UIViewController lifecycle (viewDidLoad, etc), but I'm new to the platform, so I'm open. I've tried a variety of things, but I'm not sure where in the call stack to put it. I've tried calling cell.selected = true inside tableView:cellForRowAtIndex: method, but that just ends up turning the cell black (and doesn't fire the selected callback method) A tagent question, with all the delegating and core data protocols, does it imply asynchronous data fetch (multiple threads)? Or is the NSFetchedResultsController calling all its related methods in the same thread? Maybe I'm just scared that if it is async, there would be race conditions that would be tough to troubleshoot later.

• Generate EF4 POCO classes first time only

  The problem I'm having is, using the POCO templates, generating my POCO classes the first time only and not overwriting them when the templates are re-ran. I know this sounds hokey and the reason is that I'm actually changing these templates and trying to generate metadata classes rather than the actual POCO classes, but these metadata classes will be hand-edited and I want to keep those edits in the future but still regenerate a certain amount of it. I have it all working exactly as I want except for the regeneration of the files. I have looked into T4 and it seems that there is a flag to do just this (see the Output.PreserveExistingFile property) but I don't understand where/how to set this flag. If you can tell me where/how to set this in the default POCO templates, then I think that's all I really need. Thanks!! :-)
