Python: OSX Library for fast full screen jpg/png display

Frustrated by lack of a simple ACDSee equivalent for OS X, I'm looking to hack one up for myself. I'm looking for a gui library that accommodates: Full screen image display High quality image fit-to-screen (for display) Low memory usage Fast display Reasonable learning curve (the simpler the better) Looks like there are several choices, so which is the best? Here are some I've run across: PyOpenGL PyGame PyQT wxpython I don't have any particular experience with any of these, nor any strong desire to become an expert - I'm looking for the simplest solution. What do you recommend? [Update] For those not familiar with ACDSee, here's what it does that I care about: Simple list/thubmnail display of images in a directory Sort by name/size/type Ability to view images full screen Single-key delete while viewing full screen Move to next/previous image while viewing full screen Ability to select a group of images for: move to / copy to directory delete resize ACDSee has a bunch of niceties as well, such as remembering directories you've moved images to in the past, remembering your resize settings, displaying the total size of the images you've selected, etc. I've tried most of the options I could find (including Xee) and none of them quite get there. Please keep in mind that this is a programming/library question, not a criticism of any of the existing tools.

How do I insert data from a Python dictionary to MySQL?

I manipulated some data from MySQL and the resulting dictionary "data" (print data) displays something like this : {'1': ['1', 'K', abc, 'xyz', None, None, datetime.date(2009, 6, 18)], '2': ['2', 'K', efg, 'xyz', None, None, None, None], '3': ['3', 'K', ijk, 'xyz', None, None, None, datetime.date(2010, 2, 5, 16, 31, 2)]} How do I create a table and insert these values in a MySQL table? In other words, how do I dump them to MySQL or CSV? Not sure how to deal with datetime.date and None values. Any help is appreciated.

custom cells uitableview - cannot display all the rows

Hi guys, I'm creating a uitableview with custom cells which I created in Interface Builder. There are currently three cells (UITableViewCell). I have a UITableView which is on the view. The code I have is fairly standard, but I cannot work out how to actually SHOW the three custom cells. I am using the cellForRowAtIndexPath method. My aim is to get a grouped uitableview which shows like the following Item - Name Settings - alert - time So the above indented view should be my grouped uitableview. The problem is, I cannot get it to show using code. The uitableview will ALWAYS be this. I am trying to replicate the settings style screen... so I do not have any arrays to display the uitableview cells. How do I actually display my three cells? I have the following code - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return 2; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { if (section == 0) return 1; else return 2; } - (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section { if(section == 0) return @"Item"; else return @"Settings"; } So all I need to know is how to actually display my custom cells inside the tableview! Display new image on web page

Hello, I'm uploading images to a folder and I want to display each new image on a web page every time it is saved in the folder. I can display the initial image, which is already in the folder, and I can also detect when a new image is saved into the folder but I don't know how to display the new images. I'm new to web development. Can somebody help me? Display pdf file inline in Rails app

Hi, I have a pdf file attachment saved in the cloud. The file is attached using attachment_fu. All I do to display it in the view is: <%= image_tag @model.pdf_attachment.public_filename %> When I load the page with this code in the browser, it does what I want: it displays the attached pdf file. But only on Mac. On Windows, browsers will display a broken image placeholder. Chrome's Developer Tools report: "Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type application/pdf." I also tried sending the file from controller: in PdfAttachmentController: def send_pdf_attachment pdf_attachment = PdfAttachment.find params[:id] send_file pdf_attachment.public_filename, :type => pdf_attachment.content_type, :file_name => pdf_attachment.filename, :disposition => 'inline' end in routes.rb: map.send_pdf_attachment '/pdf_attachments/send_pdf_attachment/:id', :controller => 'pdf_attachments', :action => 'send_pdf_attachment' and in the view: <%= send_pdf_attachment_path @model.pdf_attachment %> or <%= image_tag( send_pdf_attachment_path @model.pdf_attachment ) %> And that doesn't display the file on Mac (I didn't try on Windows), it displays the path: pdf_attachments/send_pdf_attachment/35 So, my question is: what do I do to properly display a pdf file inline? returning opengl display callback in D

I've written a simple hello world opengl program in D, using the converted gl headers here. When I try to compile, dmd says line 7: found '{' when expecting ';' following return statement line 10: unrecognized declaration How do I properly return the Display_callback here? Also, how do I change D strings and string literals into char*? My calls to glutInit and glutCreateWindow don't like the D strings they're getting. Thanks for your help.

Which style of return is "better" for a method that might return None?

I have a method that will either return an object or None if the lookup fails. Which style of the following is better? def get_foo(needle): haystack = object_dict() if needle not in haystack: return None return haystack[needle] or, def get_foo(needle): haystack = object_dict() try: return haystack[needle] except KeyError: # Needle not found return None I'm undecided as to which is more more desirable myself. Another choice would be return haystack[needle] if needle in haystack else None, but I'm not sure that's any better.

I have 3 divs that I would like to display as table cells: <div class="field"> <div class="row"> <label for="name">Subdomain</label> <input type="text" id="name" name="name"> <div class="subdomain-base ">test</div> </div> </div> This is the CSS that I am using: body{ font-size: 13px; } .field { width:450px; display: table; } .row { display: table-row; width: 100%; } .row > * { display: table-cell; border: 1px solid red; } label { width: 125px; height: 18px; } input { max-width: none; min-width: 0; overflow: auto; height: 18px; width: 100%; } .subdomain-base { height: 18px; width: 1px; } .subdomain-base { color: blue; font-size: 13px; } It works perfectly in Firefox 24: However, it has a height problem in Chrome 30 (latest): I have been trying all sorts of things to fix the problem with Chrome, but it seems like nothing works. There are different values for cardype like visa, mc, amex and discover All these values are in my strings.xml file and after retrieving the value I have to display it in Spinner.. Qt display image in a new window

Hi, I am naive to Qt and GUI programming. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1357960/qt-jpg-image-display/2605463#2605463 The procedure given for displaying an image is working fine and thank you for providing that. But I want to display an image when I click on radiobutton. I created a slot, and I connected the button click event to the slot (dispImage is my slot). My slot consists only the code which is working to display an image (First answer in this link). I am able to compile it and run it. But the o/p is not as we desire. On button click, image windoe flashes for a sec and disappears. One more point to share is, I tried the same with windowsflags example present in qt examples. In this example I want to display the image on the preview window created by us. Even this is also not worked for me. Please provide me the solution. Thanks in advance.

Using DisplayFor inside a display template

I've created a htmlhelper extension to reduce the amount of repetitive markup when creating forms: public static MvcHtmlString RenderField<TModel, TValue>(this HtmlHelper<TModel> htmlHelper, Expression<Func<TModel, TValue>> expression) { return htmlHelper.DisplayFor(expression, "formfield"); } The idea being that inside my views I can just write @Html.RenderField(x=>x.MyFieldName) and it will print the label and the field's content with the appropriate div tags in place already. Inside the displaytemplates folder I have created formfield.cshtml containing the following: <div class="display-group"> <div class="display-label"> @Html.LabelFor(x => x) </div> <div class="display-field"> @Html.DisplayFor(x => x) </div> </div> Unfortunately it doesn't appear that it is possible to nest DisplayFor inside a display template (it doesn't render anything). I don't want to just using @Model because then I won't get checkboxes for boolean values, calendar controls for dates etc. Is there a good way around this?

ASP.NET MVC Html.Display() using ViewData?

When I use Html.DisplayFor() using a property of the model, it comes out nicely with both a label for the property name and a textbox or label with the property value: Html.DisplayFor(model => model.FirstName) // renders as First Name: Joe Smith But if I try to use the same for something that is in ViewData, it doesn't seem to have any way to specify the text that will be used in the label in the rendered html: Html.Display(ViewData["something"].ToString()) // renders as (no label) something The other Html.Display() parameters don't look helpful: Html.Display(ViewData["something"].ToString(), "TemplateName", "HtmlElementId", {additionalData}) It looks like the only place I might pass the label is with the additionalData param, but I haven't found any examples or docs on how to do this.

Display separator in Sharepoint AspMenu control

All I'm trying to do is display a separator (I've tried images & stylesheets) between the primary navigation menu items in Sharepoint. Here is what I want it to look like: Home | Menu1 | Menu2 | Menu3 When I attempt to use the StaticTopSeparatorImageUrl (using a bar image) it results in the following: Home | Menu1 | Menu2 | Menu3 | This is obviously not a separator, and when I use the StaticBottomSeparatorImageUrl the opposite happens. I also tried to style the ms-topnav class to have a left border, which doesn't work because the control doesn't identify the first (or last) item in the menu... So, my next option was to use the Telerik RadMenu, after fighting to get it into Sharepoint I had difficulties getting it to display like the Sharepoint Menu using the SiteMapDataSource (display only the Home item and no children). This seems SO simple, but it is Sharepoint, so nothing is really simple. I'm wondering if there is either a way to make the default Sharepoint separator work correctly that I might have missed, or is there a GOOD Sharepoint menu replacement that actually takes styling into account?

Hi, I have the following c program which launches a Gtk Program on ubuntu: #include <unistd.h> int main( int argc, const char* argv[] ) { char *args[2] = { "testarg", 0 }; char *envp[1] = { 0 }; execve("/home/michael/MyGtkApp",args,envp); } I get "Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: " and my program is not launched. I have tried setting char *envp[1] = {"DISPLAY:0.0"}; and execute 'xhost +' , I dont' see the 'cannot open display' warning, but my program is still not launched. Does anyone know how to fix my problem? Thank you.

EDIT I tried DisplayFor or DisplayTextFor as suggested, but they are not valid because they generate: <th>Amazon</th> They return the value of the property... I want the name from the Display attribute.

Admob ads will not display when placed inside a tabview

I've been trying to get my ads to display in this type of layout. Tabs - LinearLayout - ListView - header. The header is set via addHeaderView and is displaying normally. If I were to move the ads anywhere else they display normally (so its not a setup issue). Using ads in the header of a listview works fine in my other projects. So this seems to be a very specific problem, the ads simply refuse to display when placed in the header of a listview inside a tabhost. My logs show no activity from admob at all. There is either a bug here or limitation of the sdk. Does anyone have any experience or insight into this issue? EDIT I found the solution. It actually had to do with padding that was in the root of my Tabview. For more checkout my answer here

Sencha Touch 2: List does not display in Panel

I am working on an MVC app in Sencha Touch 2 and am having trouble getting a list to display in a nested panel. The structure of the app has a main view which is a tab panel. One of the items in the tab panel is a defined panel, xtype: 'homepanel'. An item in this panel is the list, xtype: 'newslist' that is linked to the appropriate store and model files. The list does not display unless I change its parent 'homepanel' to a type, Ext.navigation.View. What am I missing in the definition of 'homepanel' as a Panel that prevents the display of the list? OpenGL ES displaying HUD display Text can't be colored black on top of textured 3D objects

This is a follow-up of this question on here http://iphonedevelopment.blogspot.com/2010/02/drawing-hud-display-in-opengl-es.html It tackles on the HUD (heads up display) which is based on this tutorial http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2681102/opengl-es-displaying-hud-display-has-no-color-on-top-of-textured-3d-objects I wanted to set the "Text" in color BLACK, but it is more complicated than what I thought. Setting it to some other color other than black "glColor4f(0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0);" is just fine. I assume that the culprit must be in the Blending function "glBlendFunc (GL_ONE, GL_ONE);" I experimented a lot of combinations with no luck. Has anyone experimented on this one on top of textured 3D in the backgrounds working?
