  I have a model like this: public PurchaseOrder { [Required] [StringLength(15)] public virtual string OrderNumber {get;set;} // etc. } When I submit an order from the view (using $.post, not input type=submit) it goes to my controller class: public class PurchaseOrderController { public JsonResult Save(PurchaseOrder order) { // TryUpdateModel(order); // commented out since modelstate.isvalid remains false anyway if (ModelState.IsValid) { // its never valid } } } ModelState.IsValid always returns false, with the error: "The Order Number field is required." But there is a value in this field (?? why) Why would it say "value is required" when it does have a value? Have I missed something? Is it because of the $.post instead of the submit? What can I do? • WPF: Asynchronous progress bar

  I'm trying to create a progress bar that will work asynchronously to the main process. • WPF Window Style not working at runtime

  Hi, I created a WPF application in Visual Studio 2010 Express (C#) and added the text below to the Application.Resources in App.xaml. I see the style applied to the window in the designer, but when I run the application, the window background is white. Running in Windows XP on BootCamp on a MacBook Pro if that is a factor. • WPF Combobox textbox not updating when binding changes.

  I have a WPF CombBox as follows: <ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource myList}}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=mySelectedItem}" /> The problem I have is that when the bound value changes, the selected value in the combobox's textbox does not update. (Note - the values in the combobox list do update). I am using MVVM so I can detect in the view model when the binding changes and call a property changed event and this is updating the combobox, but not the value displayed within the textbox. I think this could be done in the template of the combobox - somehow make the textbox be bound to the selecteditem of the combobox, or always update when it updates? I don't know how to do this though so any advice would be most appreciated.

• WCF Publish/Subscribe and using callbacks to send data to specific users

  Hello thanks for looking, I'm working on a project at the moment and have become a little stuck. I'm creating a client server app, which allows a client to subscribe to the server to have messages forwarded to it. The issue I'm having is that when the client subscribes I wish for them to only recieve updates that relate to them. The system basically passes messages from a SQL server DB which the server monitors. When a new message is recieved the server should only forward the message to the clients that it applys to, based on whos logged on the client machine. I've had a look and found code samples which sign up for messages to be broadcast across all clients who have subscribed, but not any that show how to identify individual clients and if messages apply to them. If anyone could help or point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.   I have the following (simplified) public enum Level { Bronze, Silver, Gold } public class Member { public virtual Level MembershipLevel { get; set; } } public class MemberMap : ClassMap<Member> { Map(x => x.MembershipLevel); } This creates a table with a column called MembershipLevel with the value as the Enum string value. What I want is for the entire Enum to be created as a lookup table, with the Membe table referencing this with the integer value as the FK. Also, I want to do this without bas***izing my model. During this phase, the expression merely accesses the value of name from the customer bean, as is done in immediate evaluation. For a postback request, the JavaServer Faces implementation evaluates the expression at different phases of the lifecycle, during which the value is retrieved from the request, validated, and propagated to the customer bean. I am not sure I understand initial request vs postback request. Does the client browser make two different request to the webserver?

  I am using AutoMapper to datareader using code as discussed below http://elegantcode.com/2009/10/16/mapping-from-idatareaderidatarecord-with-automapper/ I see it being very flakky...and unpredictable. 1) Same code with same datareader at times brings value back to the dto result set and at times doesnot. 2) I have an ID value coming from database as 100, 200. When it maps to the DTO that is of type integer this 100 is changed to a large value (like 234343211). Any ideas on why am I seeing this inconsitency. Should I be using the standard while (reader.Read())? and stop using automapper?

• MSBuild cannot find SGen when compiling a solution

  I've looked at several other SGen-related questions on here and either their answers don't apply or their answers don't fix this for me. I have installed several SDKs to fix this issue with no luck. Reference types should not be changed since this is the only place this is a problem. Once suggestion is to put SGen.exe into the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5 folder, but that's not been done on the box where this is not a problem. In this scenario, SGen.exe actually exists and is right where it's supposed to be, but MSBuild still is having issues with finding it for some reason! Background: We have a NAnt script that automates our builds. In this scenario, NAnt is calling MSBuild and MSBuild is generating the error claiming to be unable to find SGen. The project is .NET 3.5-based. I have my primary dev environment (64-bit Vista Ultimate) where the script works perfectly and I am attempting to duplicate it in a VM (64-bit Win 7 Ultimate). I THINK I have everything to the point where I should be good-to-go but this fails on the Win7 box (works perfectly on the Vista box). I have done some comparisons between the two boxes and they both look identical in this regard, but it still fails. For example, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework's sdkInstallRootv2.0 value is set to C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\v2.0 64bit\ on both machines. In both machines, SGen.exe is in that path's bin subdirectory. • [C#/WPF] Combo box Item source = ObservableCollection & I need a '-None-' dummy entry at the top

  I have a combo box using an observable collection as a datasource and I want a "dummy" value of "None" as the first item in the box as it controls filters against other data sources. Other databound objects also use the same observable collection so adding a "None" value directly to the datasource is not possible as I dont want, for example, my datagrids having a "none" in them. Also I'd rather avoid filters to just remove the "none" value for those that do not use it, as I'd like the observable collection to direclty reflect the database data; if at all possible. I'd also like to avoid having one observable collection per databound control. What I'm really after is a was to put a, non data bound, first entry into a combobox while also having the item source pointed at an obervable collection. Thanks

• NHibernate HiLo - new column per entity and HiLo catches

  Im currently using the hilo id generator for my classes but have just been using the minimal of settings eg <class name="ClassA" <id name="Id" column="id" unsaved-value="0" <generator class="hilo" / </id ...   Hello, I have two models: class Model1(): name = CharField() url = CharField() class Model2(): model1 = ForeignKey(Model1) user = ForeignKey(User) zzz = CharField() There are 5 rows for model1 in the database, these are fixed and will rarely change. I need to display a formset for model2 that allows users to enter the zzz value, the formset must always show one form per row in the model1 table, the label for each form in the formset must be the name of the related model1. If the user deletes a model2 in the formset the next time the page loads it will render an empty zzz value for that form and the user must be able to edit the previous zzz value - meaning it must be pre populated with all model2 rows associated with the user. The idea is to print each row in the model1 table as a form instead of the user selecting the related model1 name in a select box. I know its not that complicated, but I'm seriously stumped and keep going round in circles!! Many thanks in advance. How can I hide my secret key? In the doc it mentioned: http://facebook-actionscript-api.googlecode.com/svn/release/current/docs/com/facebook/utils/FacebookSessionUtil.html secret:String — Your application's secret key. If this parameter is passed a value of null, the constructor looks for a special session secret stored in the fb_sig_ss property of the loaderInfo object. For web sessions, even if you pass a non-null value for this parameter, the constructor will always look for a session secret and use that instead of the value that you pass for this parameter.

  Hi I'm trying to deploy an ASP.NET MVC 2 app using MSDeploy. I use VS2010 to generate the package as a ZIP. Inside that ZIP is a parameters.xml file that declares the parameters that I can set. I want to be able to set more parameters, using the auto-generated deploy.cmd file like this: MySite.deploy.cmd "-setParam:name='IIS Web Application Name',value=MySite" "-setParam:name=IisVirtualDirectoryPhysicalPath,value=C:\inetpub\MySite" "-setParam:name=httpBinding,value=*:80:www.mysite.dk" That works fine, except for the httpBinding param. That is because that parameter is not declared inside the parameters.xml file that is added to the ZIP container. I could go and add that parameter declaration manually, but isn't there a way to do it from the command line and have it declare parameters I have in another XML file?

• moq SetupSet is obsolete. In place of what?

  Let's say I want to use moq to create a callback on a setter to store the set property in my own field for later use. (Contrived example - but it gets to the point of the question.) I could do something like this: myMock.SetupSet(x => x.MyProperty).Callback(value => myLocalVariable = value); And that works just fine. However, SetupSet is obsolete according to Intellisense. But it doesn't say what should be used as an alternative. I know that moq provides SetupProperty which will autowire the property with a backing field. But that is not what I'm looking for. I want to capture the set value into my own variable. How should I do this using non-obsolete methods?

  I'm attempting to dump data from a Pandas Dataframe into a JSON file to import into MongoDB. The format I require in a file has JSON records on each line of the form: {<column 1>:<value>,<column 2>:<value>,...,<column N>:<value>} df.to_json(,orient='records') gets close to the result but all the records are dumped within a single JSON array. Any thoughts on an efficient way to get this result from a dataframe? What am I missing?
