• Recursive TreeView in ASP.NET

  I have an object of type list from which I wish to use to populate a treeview in asp.net c#. Each object item has: id | Name | ParentId so for example: id | Name | ParentId ------------------------- 1 | Alice | 0 2 | Bob | 1 3 | Charlie | 1 4 | David | 2 In the above example, the parent would be Alice having two children Bob and Charlie. David is the child of Bob. I have had many problems trying to dynamically populate the treeview recursively in c# ASP.NET Does any one have a simple solution? Btw: you can use People.Id, People.Name and People.ParentId to access the members since it is an object belonging to list. I can post you my code so far (many attempts made) but not sure how useful it will be.

• setUserCredentials from Google data api is stuck

  Well, since I am facing some issues with OAuth implementation, I decided to go back to normal method where users will input their login id and password and I will use them in my code to validate their google account to fetch calendar information. So when user enters login id and password, the page is getting stuck. When I check the code, setUserCredentials is the method where it is getting stuck. But when I enter my login id and password and debug on development site, it works fine. There is no problem when I debug. And importantly , the problem appears for first time only, once I debug the code and next time I try it without breakpoint, it works fine. Does anyone know why setUserCredentials takes time or any way I can track why it is taking so time? I have asked the same question on Google data api forum, but nobody answered it.

  I have two tables: Users: ID, first_name, last_name Networks: user_id, friend_id, status I want to select all values from the users table but I want to display the status of specific user (say with id=2) while keeping the other ones as NULL. For instance: If I have users: 1 John Smith 2 Tom Summers 3 Amy Wilson And in networks: user_id friend_id status 2 1 friends I want to do search for John Smith for all other users so I want to get: id first_name last_name status 2 Tom Summers friends 3 Amy Wilson NULL I tried doing LEFT JOIN and then WHERE statement but it didn't work because it excluded the rows that have relations with other users but not this user. I can do this using UNION statement but I was wondering if it's at all possible to do it without UNION.

• Returning the value of an identity column during/after INSERT command

  Using VS 2010, with ASP.NET, and .NET 3.0, and C#... When I use a System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSource and call its Insert() method to insert a new row, and that table has an identity column, I'd like my method to return the value of that column. For example, in my SQL 2005 table, I've got: Customer.Id Customer.FirstName Customer.LastName Where Customer.Id is an identity colum. When I call my method InsertNewCustomerRecord( "John", "Smith" ), I'd like to be able to return the Customer.Id that gets automatically generated in the database.   Let's say I have the following tables: PartyRelationship EffectiveDatedAttributes PartyRelationship contains a varchar column called class. EffectiveDatedAttributes contains a foreign key to PartyRelationship called ProductAuthorization. If I run this: select unique eda.productauthorization from effectivedatedattributes eda inner join partyrelationship pr on eda.productauthorization = pr.ID where pr.class = 'com.pmc.model.bind.ProductAuthorization' it returns a list of ProductAuthorization IDs. I need to take this list of IDs and insert a new row into EffectiveDatedAttributes for every ID, containing the ID as well as some other data. How would I iterate over the returned IDs from the previous select statement in order to do this?

It appears to be removing the shared_ptr from the container. The allhosts container currently has one functioning index that relies on the host's ID. If I introduce an ordered second index that calls on a member function (Host::getAge()), where the age changes over the course of the simulation, is the index always going to be updated when I refer to it? What is the difference between using the MultiIndex's modify to modify the age of the underlying object versus the approach I show above? I'm vaguely confused about what is assumed/required to be constant in MultiIndex. Thanks in advance. • Django BigInteger auto-increment field as primary key?

  Hi all, I'm currently building a project which involves a lot of collective intelligence. Every user visiting the web site gets created a unique profile and their data is later used to calculate best matches for themselves and other users. By default, Django creates an INT(11) id field to handle models primary keys. I'm concerned with this being overflown very quickly (i.e. ~2.4b devices visiting the page without prior cookie set up). How can I change it to be represented as BIGINT in MySQL and long() inside Django itself? I've found I could do the following (http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/models/fields/#bigintegerfield): class MyProfile(models.Model): id = BigIntegerField(primary_key=True) But is there a way to make it autoincrement, like usual id fields? Additionally, can I make it unsigned so that I get more space to fill in? Thanks!

• Ubuntu 12.04 boot degraded raid

  I've installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 in a new server and set up the 4 hard drives with 3 RAID 1 devices, the configuration is such that the first two drives have md0 (swap space) and md1 (/) with the third and fourth drives having md2 (/var). I've been testing the operation under a drive failure and found that the system boots fine if I remove disk two but if I remove disk one then the system gets to grub and then just restarts. I'm confused as to why grub appears to be loading properly from disk two but then the boot fails. I've tried to copy the MBR from disk 1 to 2: dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb bs=512 count=1 but this didn't make a difference.   I have the following string: <div id="mydiv">This is a "div" with quotation marks</div> I want to use regular expressions to return the following: <div id='mydiv'>This is a "div" with quotation marks</div> Notice how the id attribute in the div is now surrounded by apostrophes? How can I do this with a regular expression? Edit: I'm not looking for a magic bullet to handle every edge case in every situation. We should all be weary of using regex to parse HTML but, in this particular case and for my particular need, regex IS the solution...I just need a bit of help getting the right expression.

• SQL: Gather right hand values from a join

  Let's say a question has many tags, via a join table called taggings. I do a join thus: SELECT DISTINCT `questions`.id FROM `questions` LEFT OUTER JOIN `taggings` ON `taggings`.taggable_id = `questions`.id LEFT OUTER JOIN `tags` ON `tags`.id = `taggings`.tag_id I want to order the results according to a particular tag name, eg 'piano', so that piano is at the top, then by all the other tags in alphabetical order. Currently i'm using this order clause: ORDER BY (tags.name = 'piano') desc, tags.name Which is going completely wrong - the first results i get back aren't even tagged with 'piano' at all. I think my problem is that i need to group the tag names somehow and do my ordering test against that: i think that doing it against the straight tags.name isn't working due to the structure of the resultant join table (it does work if i just do a simple select on the tags table) but i can't get my head around how to fix it. grateful for any advice, max

• Rows dropping when I try to join data from two tables

  I have a fairly simple query I'm try to write. If I run the following query: SELECT parts.id, parts.type_id FROM parts WHERE parts.type_id=1 OR parts.type_id=2 OR parts.type_id=4 ORDER BY parts.type_id; I get all the rows I expect to be returned. Now when I try to grab the parent_unit from another table with the following query six rows suddenly drop out of the result: SELECT parts.id, parts.type_id, sp.parent_unit FROM parts, serialized_parts sp WHERE (parts.type_id=1 OR parts.type_id=2 OR parts.type_id=4) AND sp.parts_id = parts.id ORDER BY parts.type_id In the past I've never really dealt with ORs in my queries so maybe I'm just doing it wrong. That said I'm guessing it's just a simple mistake. Let me know if you need sample data and I'll post some. Thanks.

• How to stop a random ramp in FCGI Processes Killing the server

  So got the below earlier to day... Around that time the logs show a ramp in processes(600) and associated memory (1.2g), cpu usage load average (80) untill the server gave out. Server had to be hard reset by host as there was no ssh or plesk panel access. Fast CGI is configured as below and is setup for one high use site. As I understand it FcgidMaxProcesses 20 should protect against what happen but has not. I've read many forums with differing answers and references to many different fcgi directives, but have found nothing conclusive. Any one got some definitive answers on how to stop this sort of server process ramping and subsequent server failure? If you need more info let me know. • ExtJs: Tree: how download then select using AJAX calls ?

  Hi, Here's my goal : - open a tree - download the root nodes - expand automatically one specific node using AJAX (and loop n times here) until i find a leaf then select the leaf Here's the function that works when I declare the Tree : listeners: { load: function(n) { console.log('load(n)'); n.eachChild( function(n) { if ((n.id=='lys/2007') || (n.id=='lys/2007/08') || (n.id=='lys/2007/08/29')) { n.expand(false,false); } }); } } But if I don't know how to make it more "generic" (almost exactly like the ExtJs documentation). But they don't jump automatically to a specific node (i.e. I want no user interaction). Any idea / advice how to do this? Don't hesitate to edit my post to make it proper English :)
