  • Using WebView setHttpAuthUsernamePassword?

    - by user246114
Hi, I'm trying to do basic authentication to view a protected url. I want to access the protected url which looks like this: http://api.test.com/userinfo/vid?=1234 So I do the following with a WebView: mWebView.setHttpAuthUsernamePassword("api.test.com", "", "john", "password123"); mWebView.loadUrl("http://api.test.com/userinfo/vid?=1234"); but the authentication doesn't seem to work, I'm just getting an output error page. Am I using the WebView method correctly here? Thanks

  • How to invite users to connect to your application using Facebook Application Development interfaces

    - by rabashani
I think that this question already questioned, and probably the answer is here: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Notifications.send but the real problem is that facebook says: Facebook discontinued support for this method March 1, 2010. Calling this method returns error code 3 -- Unknown method. while, I couldn't find any other JS-api for the invitation, anyone know how we can invite users, using the JS api or the .net api? thanks.

  • Android AVD With GoogleApi, Not Getting Network Connection

    - by Chris
I am working on a Windows XP Machine. When running AVDs out of Eclipse, I am getting "No Network Connection" when I am plugged into my company's network and using an AVD that was built with the "Google APIs by Google Inc., Android API 7, revision 1". If I use this same AVD (Google API) and connect to the internet through a Verizon Wireless card, the AVD gets an Internet Connection. If I use an AVD built with "SDK Platform Android 2.1, API 7, revision 1", and connect through my company's network, the AVD gets an Internet Connection. Any ideas what might be blocking this? I am guessing it is something in my company's network, but why only with the AVD created with the Google API?

  • BlackBerry/J2ME - SAX parse collection of objects with attributes

It is a complex XML file, it is like the following. <Objects> <Object no="1"> <field name="PID">ilives:87877</field> <field name="dc.coverage">Charlottetown</field> <field name="fgs.ownerId">fedoraAdmin</field> </Object> <Object no="2">...... • Should I use Mutex OR Critical Section for Windows Mobile RIL

    - by afriza
Hi, I am using a Radio Layer Interface (RIL) Native API in Windows Mobile application. In this API, the return values / results of most functions are not returned immediately but are passed through a callback function which is passed to the RIL API. Some usage examples are found at XDA Develompent Tools and Google Gears Geolocation API. My question is, in these two examples, a mutex is used to guard the data instead of other synchronization objects. Now, will Critical Section do fine here in the use cases described by both examples? Which thread or process will actually call the callback functions?

  • MonoTouch and CoreBluetooth Low Energy Required?

    - by user856232
We are making MFi hardware and an iOS app. We will want to have the BT device notify our app even if we are not running periodically when certain events happen. I know the CoreBluetooth API is the one to use, but can't tell for sure if that API only works with BT Low Energy devices or if it will also work with regular (MFi of course) BT 2.1 and higher devices. So my question is: Does the CoreBluetooth API only work with Bluetooth Low Energy devices or will it also work with 2.1 devices?

In Socket Programming, how will a Unix thread receive a Socket CLOSE event from a client if connection is closed? Are there any API's which will notify the unix thread about the CLOSE event received? As in Windows we have WSAEnumNetworkEvents API which gets the event notification for a specified socket descriptor. What will be the equivalent API used in the Unix socket programing? Please provide the help for the query.

  • Google Friend Connect - Meaning of URLs

    - by shoaibmohammed
Hello, I would like to know the meaning of the URL's provided by google for its Friend Connect. For example, in the FCAUTH, the user details can be grabbed by sending a request to the following link and a JSON encoded string will be returned http://www.google.com/friendconnect/api/people/@viewer/@self?fcauth=<some-cookie-value> Also for getting user activites, I came across a link as below http://www.google.com/friendconnect/api/activities/@owner/@friends/@app?fcauth=<cookie> What if I change the @owner to @me or @viewer , what would be the meaning and would it be valid? Example, if i change it as http://www.google.com/friendconnect/api/activities/@me/@friends/@app?fcauth=<cookie> http://www.google.com/friendconnect/api/activities/@viewer/@friends/@app?fcauth=<cookie> Also, could some one suggest me where can I get the User Profile URL for the user using the same method as above? Thankx guys

  • Accessing Bluetooth virtual COM port on Windows without manual pairing

    - by oo_olo_oo
I need to connect to a Bluetooth device through virtual COM port created in Windows. It's easy when the port has been already created during manual pairing procedure. But I would like my application to relieve an user from the manual pairing of a device. I would like to present all devices in the range, allow user to chose one, and then create virtual COM port connected with the selected device. I'm not trying to avoid the pairing procedure itself, but rather I would like to invoke it by my application. I started getting familiar with Microsoft Bluetooth API. And then some doubts arose. I've been wondering what happen if some user would use different (than Microsoft's) Bluetooth stack? Is the Microsoft's API the real Bluetooth API, which have to be implemented by any other Bluetooth stack provider? Or rather each provider has its own API, and the Microsoft's is only one of many other?

  • Django model operating on a queryset

    - by jmoz
I'm new to Django and somewhat to Python as well. I'm trying to find the idiomatic way to loop over a queryset and set a variable on each model. Basically my model depends on a value from an api, and a model method must multiply one of it's attribs by this api value to get an up-to-date correct value. At the moment I am doing it in the view and it works, but I'm not sure it's the correct way to achieve what I want. I have to replicate this looping elsewhere. Is there a way I can encapsulate the looping logic into a queryset method so it can be used in multiple places? I have this atm (I am using django-rest-framework): class FooViewSet(viewsets.ModelViewSet): model = Foo serializer_class = FooSerializer bar = # some call to an api def get_queryset(self): # Dynamically set the bar variable on each instance! foos = Foo.objects.filter(baz__pk=1).order_by('date') for item in foos: item.needs_bar = self.bar return items I would think something like so would be better: def get_queryset(self): bar = # some call to an api # Dynamically set the bar variable on each instance! return Foo.objects.filter(baz__pk=1).order_by('date').set_bar(bar) I'm thinking the api hit should be in the controller and then injected to instances of the model, but I'm not sure how you do this. I've been looking around querysets and managers but still can't figure it out nor decided if it's the best method to achieve what I want. Can anyone suggest the correct way to model this with django? Thanks.

  • Ruby on Rails protect_from_forgery best practice

    - by randombits
I'm currently working on building a RESTful web api with ruby on rails. I haven't bothered putting a proper authentication scheme into the API yet as I'm ensuring that tests and the basic behavior of the API is working all locally first. Upon testing non-HTTP GET type requests such as HTTP POST/DELETE/PUT, stuff chokes because protect_from_forgery is on by default. How does this work when I'm working in practice since essentially the idea is in a RESTful API that there is no state. The client does not have a session or a cookie associated with the server. Each request is an atomic, self-executed request. The user will supply some credentials to ensure they are who they say they are, but other than that, does protect_from_forgery make sense at this point? Should it remain enabled?

The problem is, it never redirects back to 'About'. What am I doing wrong here?

  • Templates vs. coded HTML

    - by Alan Harris-Reid
I have a web-app consisting of some html forms for maintaining some tables (SQlite, with CherryPy for web-server stuff). First I did it entirely 'the Python way', and generated html strings via. code, with common headers, footers, etc. defined as functions in a separate module. I also like the idea of templates, so I tried Jinja2, which I find quite developer-friendly. In the beginning I thought templates were the way to go, but that was when pages were simple. Once .css and .js files were introduced (not necessarily in the same folder as the .html files), and an ever-increasing number of {{...}} variables and {%...%} commands were introduced, things started getting messy at design-time, even though they looked great at run-time. Things got even more difficult when I needed additional javascript in the or sections. As far as I can see, the main advantages of using templates are: Non-dynamic elements of page can easily be viewed in browser during design. Except for {} placeholders, html is kept separate from python code. If your company has a web-page designer, they can still design without knowing Python. while some disadvantages are: {{}} delimiters visible when viewed at design-time in browser Associated .css and .js files have to be in same folder to see effects in browser at design-time. Data, variables, lists, etc., must be prepared in advanced and either declared globally or passed as parameters to render() function. So - when to use 'hard-coded' HTML, and when to use templates? I am not sure of the best way to go, so I would be interested to hear other developers' views. TIA, Alan

Hi all, I am trying to set up a basic file upload to blobstore, but I get this OutOfMemoryError: WARNING: Error for /_ah/upload/ aghvbWdkcmVzc3IcCxIVX19CbG9iVXBsb2FkU2Vzc2lvbl9fGMACDA java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space at java.util.Arrays.copyOf(Arrays.java:2786) at java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream.write(ByteArrayOutputStream.java:71) at javax.mail.internet.MimeMultipart.readTillFirstBoundary(MimeMultipart.java: 316) at javax.mail.internet.MimeMultipart.parse(MimeMultipart.java:186) at javax.mail.internet.MimeMultipart.getCount(MimeMultipart.java:109) at com.google.appengine.api.blobstore.dev.UploadBlobServlet.handleUpload(UploadBlobServlet.java: 135) at com.google.appengine.api.blobstore.dev.UploadBlobServlet.access $000(UploadBlobServlet.java:72) at com.google.appengine.api.blobstore.dev.UploadBlobServlet $1.run(UploadBlobServlet.java:100) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at com.google.appengine.api.blobstore.dev.UploadBlobServlet.doPost(UploadBlobServlet.java: 98) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:713) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:806) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(ServletHolder.java: 511); I used the Memory Analyzer on Eclipse and it said that the memory leak suspect is QueuedThreadPool. I found this information about a memory leak bug: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JETTY-1188 Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks, Jean
