  • UTF-8 xml file shows Gibberish

    I have a UTF-8 encoded xml file, which was exported from a Wordpress MySQL database. While the file is saved as UTF-8, and the encoding is UTF-8, I get gibberish instead of the Hebrew text that is supposed to be in there, which looks like this: ™×•×˜×•×ª How can I find the original encoding or charset and convert the text into proper Hebrew? PHP's mb_detect_encoding($str); returns UTF-8 Tried all sorts of php encoding functions, with different settings and input/output charsets, but they all just print different looking gibberish blocks, like: ÃâÃËÃâ¢Ãâ¢ÃËà and ?? ××©×ž× ...Any Ideas how to go about this?

  • Out of the box approach to upload XML file to the BIRT Server for Processing

    Hello, I have the BIRT Report Server configured in TOMCAT and it works fine when running reports that require an XML datasource, but that XML file has be available on the network in order for the server to find it and run. Is there an out of the box configuration in the BIRT server that will prompt the user to upload the XML file directly to the server when they try to run a given report that requires an XML data source? This would be handy for users that have the XML datasource stored locally on their C drive and not have to move them to a network server in order to be read by BIRT. Thanks in advance. Paul

  • Simple File-based Record Storage with Fast Text Searching for Compact Framework and Silverlight

    I have a single table with lots of records ( 100k) that I need to be able to index and search on several text fields. The easiest searches will have the first part of the string specified (eg, LIKE 'ABC%' in SQL). The tougher searches will need to search for any substring within the text fields (eg, LIKE '%ABC%' in SQL). I need to run on the Compact Framework. SQL Compact is a memory hog and overkill for my one table. Besides, I'd like to be able to run on Silverlight 4 eventually. The file and indexes can be generated on the full .NET Framework and I only need read capability on the Compact Framework. My records are not especially large and can be expressed in fix length format. I'm looking for some existing code or libraries to avoid having to write a file-based BTree implementation from scratch.

    I am using jQuery and my js file thats calling a jquery function resides in totally different directory than jQuery is in. I need to call this function reloadPage like this from js file reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); but it gives me an error Line: 341 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Line 341 is reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID});. What can I do to run this function from outside the directory? I tried parent.reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); But that didnt work either.

    What is the best way to upload a file to a Document Library on a SharePoint server through the built-in web services that version WSS 3.0 exposes? Following the two initial answers... We definitely need to use the Web Service layer as we will be making these calls from remote client applications. The WebDAV method would work for us, but we would prefer to be consistent with the web service integration method. There is additionally a web service to upload files, painful but works all the time. Are you referring to the “Copy” service? We have been successful with this service’s CopyIntoItems method. Would this be the recommended way to upload a file to Document Libraries using only the WSS web service API? I have posted our code as a suggested answer.

    Hi all, I am trying to get started with JSON in Python, but it seems that I misunderstand something in the JSON concept. I followed the google api example, which works fine. But when I change the code to a lower level in the JSON response (as shown below, where I try to get access to the location), I get the following error message for code below: Traceback (most recent call last): File "geoCode.py", line 11, in test = json.dumps([s['location'] for s in jsonResponse['results']], indent=3) KeyError: 'location' How can I get access to lower information level in the JSON file in python? Do I have to go to a higher level and search the result string? That seems very weird to me?     I'm trying to comprehend the Unix file system on my OSX. I'm following wikipedia Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. I understand when I install ruby gems I must use the command sudo gem install but if I omit sudo, problems may occur. Where are gems installed within the file system when I omit sudo? How can I delete these gems? A Fun side question: When I enter cd ~/.gem my terminal is directed to .gem user$, When I enter cd ~/ and list folders using the ls command I can't find a .gem folder. Where is the .gem folder? How does this fit into the Filesystem?

    I am a new bee to ajax world. I am working on a site which uses jquery and codeigniter which processes big files like 2GB. It basically parses file and stores some extracted data from it, it uses ajax to show how far the files have been processed etc. Now I want to change the way we process files. I want to first store the file on server side and then start the processing. I evaluated upload class of codeigniter but looks like I cannot use it for this purpose as this class works with field_name and I could not find a way to make an ajax call to the upload class.     I'm writing a small shell script that needs to reverse the lines of a text file. Is there a standard filter command to do this sort of thing? My specific application is that I'm getting a list of Git commit identifiers, and I want to process them in reverse order: git log --pretty=oneline work...master | grep -v DEBUG: | cut -d' ' -f1 | reverse The best I've come up with is to implement reverse like this: ... | cat -b | sort -rn | cut -f2- This uses cat to number every line, then sort to sort them in descending numeric order (which ends up reversing the whole file), then cut to remove the unneeded line number. The above works for my application, but may fail in the general case because cat -b only numbers nonblank lines. Is there a better, more general way to do this?

  • Optimize loading an XAP file with an asp.net website

    I've been developing a game using Silverlight 4 and silversprite (http://silversprite.codeplex.com/) This game is HEAVILY content dependent, using a lot of audio and images. My content folder is around 90 mbs worth of stuff. And because of that, my XAP file is around 60 MB, and takes 5 minutes to download from the website before any user can start playing. I am using Visual Web Developer 2010 to create my site and load the XAP. Is there a way where I can take content out of my XAP and put it in my ASP.net site project? Or perhaps upload my content files to the site's storage? This would make my XAP file much quicker to download. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

  • Flex Datagrid File Download old value

    Hi, We use a AIR client and WAMP server. Got a weird issue with Flex datagrid. When I download an image by double clicking on a datagrid row, the file gets downloaded correctly. But when I go on to select another row for download, even though the correct parameters are being passed, it again prompts download of old file. Upon cancelling that and trying again, it picks up the selected row.   • "a valid provisioning file for this executable was not found" in XCode

    I'm trying to submit my second app to the App Store. I've followed all the instructions to the best of my knowledge, but I keep getting this error when I try to build and run: "a valid provisioning file for this executable was not found" I'm letting XCode auto select the profile automatically. The one I'd like to select is greyed out. But the dropdown selection in the Build tab of the Target window says "profile doesn't match application identifier" The other thing I don't get about this is that the selection dropdown shows "com.mycompany.myapp" and then "ABCDEDFG.com.mycompany.myapp" (both of those made up) so that I see they don't match. I have the unique identifier profile installed in the Organizer and in plist file. I'm totally confused. I have followed the instructions in my book a few times and just can't get it.

    The two functions in openCV cvLoadImage and cvSaveImage accept file path's as arguments. For example, when saving a image it's cvSaveImage("/tmp/output.jpg", dstIpl) and it writes on the disk. Is there any way to feed this a buffer already in memory? So instead of a disk write, the output image will be in memory. I would also like to know this for both cvSaveImage and cvLoadImage (read and write to memory buffers). Thanks! My goal is to store the Encoded (jpeg) version of the file in Memory. Same goes to cvLoadImage, I want to load a jpeg that's in memory in to the IplImage format.

    (using Python-Sphinx Documentation tool) I have a .txt log file I'd like to build into _build/html unaltered. What do I need to alter in conf.py, index.rst, etc. Here is the layout: src/ index.rst some_doc.rst somefile.txt How do I get somefile.txt into the html build? I tried adding a line like this to index.rst: Contents: .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 some_doc "somefile.txt" hoping it would work by magic, but no magic here! Assuming this is even possible, what would I put in some_doc.rst to refer/link to that file? Note Yes, I'm aware I could put it in /static and just be done with it, but that seems like a total hack, and ugly.

    Can anyone tell me how to get track information from the MusicBrainz database from an audio file (mp3, wav, wma, ogg, etc...) using audio fingerprinting. I'm using MusicBrainz Sharp library, but any other library is ok. I've seen that you must use the libofa library, that you can't use MusicBrainz Sharp to get puid from the audio file, but I can't figure out how to use libofa with C#.   • Intermittent issue - IIS offering to donwload ASPX file instead of executing

    We're getting an intermittent problem with the homepage of our site when IIS will suddenly start offering to download the ASPX file instead of executing it. It happens about once a month, on a random basis. If I open the file in Notepad and re-save it (without making a single change to the code), IIS starts executing the script as normal and doesn't offer the download any more. I can't get my head round this, considering that we can't reproduce the problem. Also, I can't really play with it and test anything when the problem occurs as this is the homepage of the site and needs fixing asap. Any ideas what could be causing this? Files are written to the server over Filezilla FTP. Looks like the homepage is the only page affected. Server is Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0 with all the latest patches (we actually run two of them, load balanced, and the problem can occur on either server on a random basis). Can't see anything in the Event logs or IIS log.

  • Link to another file in chrome extension

    I want to have a link in the popup.html file for my extension that loads another file (which will be included with the extension) how can I do this? or will I need to keep it in the same page? I tried using this code: <a href="/mail.html"> <img id="newmail_icon" src="" width="16" height="16" /> <span id="newmail">loading</span><br /> </a> But when I click the link nothing happens. I just found out that adding target="_blank" to the link will make it work and open in a new tab, but I can't get it to open in the popup. I have tried target="_self" but it didn't do anything.
