  I have two tables, events and photos, which relate together via the 'Event_ID' column. I wish to select ONE random photo from each event and display them. How can I do this? I have the following which displays all the photos which are associated. How can I limit it to one per event? • MongoDB: embedding performance question

  I just started learning MongoDB, and I really like the idea of embedding collections instead of referencing them. MongoDB's documentation recommends to use embedding if performance is needed. I just thought about a simple forum model. Let's say, every board category has several boards, every board has several topics, and every topic has several messages. All of these collections are embedded. After some time the size of the board category will be huge. Way more than the 2MB limit. Does this mean that there's a flaw in this design?

• Do I need to include all fields in my entity framework model

  Quick question for everyone: Do I need to include all the database table fields on my EF model? For example; I've created a sub-model that only deals with tblPayment and associated tables. Now, I need to write a LINQ query to get some information about items. I would typically get this by joining tblPayment to tblInvoice to tblInvoiceItem to finally tblOrderItem. I'm wondering if when I add in those other tables, do I need to include all the fields for tblInvoice and tblInvoiceItem? Ideally; I'd just like to keep the fields I'd need to join on, as that would limit the possibility of my sub-model breaking if other fields on those tables are modified/deleted. Can I do this?

• How to retrieve column total when rows are paginated?

  Hey guys I have a column "price" in a table and I used a pagination script to generate the data displayed. Now the pagination is working perfectly however I am trying to have a final row in my HTML table to show the total of all the price. So I wrote a script to do just that with a foreach loop and it sort of works where it does give me the total of all the price summed up together however it is the sum of all the rows, even the ones that are on following pages. How can I retrieve just the sum of the rows displayed within the pagination? Thank you! Here is the query.. • Searching custom nodes' by field in Drupal?

  Hello- Using Drupal on a project which I made custom node types in using the CCK. I want to be able to search the specific node based on a custom field the node has. So let's say I have this node type Article which has a field "myfield", I want to be able to search for Articles based on the myfield field. I understand the default search module allows for searching of node types using the type:MyNodeType in the search, but I did not see any way to limit which fields are searched. Any tips? Is this something that is going to get crazy? Appreciate the help.

• Matlab: How to find the right-most point of a white line within the imrect?

  i've got a question regarding the imrect() function, which is part of the image processing toolbox in MatLab. I'd like to find a starting point within an image. I use the imrect function for setting a region to limit and specify the lookup area, but I can't get the point where the ROI mask is getting back mapped to the original size of the image. As you can see on the image there is a specified rectangle (cyan-colored), which I want to inspect for the white line, especially the nearest point to the right edge of the rectangle. I experimentated with only looking up on the last column of the rectangle, but as I mentioned before, the re-mapping onto the global image coordinates failed. So in this example, the white point I'd like to get would be around (98,302) The original (x,y) coordinates are relevant, so a cropping of the image to the rectangle is not acceptable. • Integrate ClickOnce update in a setup

  As recent decision in my team we decided to deploy a software we develop for some time now in ClickOnce. Previously it was deployed with a merge module in a setup project. We had in mind to actually deploy the ClickOnce setup/updater in the web server setup. The problem here would not exactly to integrate it but to make sure to limit the human work to integrate it. Normally I guess it would be necessary to "add - file" and select the folder containing the setup.exe + publish.htm + application files + .application, but I fear that for each time we publish a new version to the hard drive we have to update the setup project as well. Would someone have some insight to help that ? (especially to not have to add the program_[version] folder inside application files that is created each time a new publish is done).

  Hi guys, I am trying to use jQuery (latest version) & ajax to poll a mysql db every x seconds, post.php does a simple search query on the table and limits to 1 row. (eg SELECT id FROM TABLE LIMIT 1) I've got some other jQuery UI (using v1.8) code that displays some modal/dialog boxes on the screen, simply put if post.php returns something from the db I need to initialise the dialog to pop up onto the screen. I've done all the popup stuff I am just having issues joining all these bits together - i've added some pseudo code of how i expect this to work.   I am trying to build a forum with Codeigniter. So far i have the forums themselves displayed and the threads displayed, based on the creating dynamic news tutorial. But that is 2 different pages, i need to obviously display them into one page, like this: Forum 1 - thread 1 - thread 2 - thread 3 Forum 2 - thread 1 - thread 2 etc. And then the next step is obviously to display all the posts in a thread. Most likely with some pagination going on. But that is for later.   I am trying to manage numerous arguments that are specified by a user when they execute a command. So far, I have been trying to limit my script design to manage arguments as flags that I can easily manage with Getopt::Long as follows: GetOptions ("a" => \$a, "b" => \$b); In this way I can check to see if a or b were specified and then execute the respective code/functions. However, I now have a case where the user can specify two arguments variables as follows: command -a black -b white This is fine, but I cannot come up with a good way to determine whether -a or -b is specified first. Therefore I do not know whether the argument variable is assigned to $ARGV[0] or $ARGV[1] after I have executed GetOptions ("a" => \$a, "b" => \$b);. How can I tell which variable is associated with -a and which is associated with -b in the example above?

I'm using phpMyAdmin and this is my SQL: DELIMITER // CREATE PROCEDURE test_select() BEGIN SELECT * FROM products LIMIT 10; END // DELIMITER ; After submitting that, my localhost does some thinking for a loooong time and eventually loads a page with no content called /phpmyadmin/import.php. After reloading phpMyAdmin and trying to invoke the procedure: CALL test_select(); I get a "PROCEDURE doesn't exist" error. Any ideas?

• How can i insert large files in mysql db using php?

  Hi! I want to upload a large file of size 10M max to my mysql database. Using .htaccess i changed the PHP's own file upload limit to "10485760" = 10M, i am able to upload files upto 10M size without any problem. But i can not insert the file in database if it is more that 1M in size. i am using file_get_contents to read all file data and pass it to the insert query as a string to be inserted into a LONGBLOB field. But files with more than 1M size is not being added to database, though i can use print_r($_FILES) to examine that the file uploaded correctly. Any help will be appreciated and i will need it within next 6 hours. So, please help! best regards, Anjan

  Does anyone know if HQL has a keyword to identify rows such as ROWID or ROWNUM? I would like to implement pagination with HQL but I am not able to use .setMaxResult() or .setFirstResult() because I don't work with the session object directly and therefore don't use the Query object but simply create my query as a string and use the .find() method. I tried using LIMIT and OFFSET in my query, but HQL seems to be ignoring these keywords and is returning the whole result to me no matter what. I'm also not able to use Hibernate criteria because it does not have support for the "HAVING" clause that appears in my query. My last resort is to restrict the result set using the ROWNUM/ROWID keyword. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

  My android app requires that the device has an SDcard and that SDcard is mountable on a PC or MAC as a FileSystem (removable disk) . It is because there is a program for windows which my mobile app writes to sd card which user has to run from his PC and that program works on files on that Mounted SD card and disks on PC from windows. This was a problem on most the Tablets because not all of them can mount their SDcard as removable disk on PC without requiring special drivers on PC for that tablet. But for majority of ICS phones the PC seems to mount the disk as removable storage so I would like to limit my app for the API 8 - API15 (Phones only) Is there a way to specify in the manifest of an android app that the app should work with an ICS android phone and not the ICS tablets so that users having tablets can not download it from android market ?
