  • Authlogic, logout and credential capture

    Ok this is something weird. I got authlogic-oid installed in my rails app today. Everything works perfectly fine but for one small nuisance. This is what i did: I first register with my google openid. Successful login, redirection and my email, along with my correct openid is stored in my database. I am happy that everything worked fine! Now when i logout, my rails app as usual destroys the session and redirects me back to my root url where i can login again. Now if i try to login it still remembers my last login id. Not a big issue as i can always "Sign in as a different user" but i am wondering if there is anyway to not only logout from my app but also logout from google. I noticed the same with stack overflow's openid authentication system. Why am i so bothered about this, you may ask. But is it not a bad idea if your web apps end user, who happens to be in a cyber cafe, thinks he has logged out from your app and hence from his google account only to realize later that his google account had got hacked by some unworthy loser who just happened to notice that the one before had not logged out from google and say.. changed his password!! Should i be paranoid?

  • Checking for corrupt war file after mvn install

    Is there a maven command that will verify that a WAR file is valid and not corrupt? Or is there some other program or technique to validate zip files? I'm on Ubuntu 9.10, so a linux solution is preferred. On occasion, I end up with a corrupt WAR file after doing mvn clean and mvn install on my project. If I extract the WAR file to my hard drive, an error occurs and the file doesn't get extracted. I believe this happens when my system is in a low-memory condition, because this tends to happen only when lots of memory is in use. After rebooting, doing a mvn install always gives a valid WAR file. Because this happens infrequently, I don't typically test the file by uncompressing it. I transfer the 50MB war file to my server and then restart Jetty with it as the root webapp. But when the file is corrupt, I get a java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid block type error. So I'm looking for a quick way to validate the file as soon as mvn install is completed. Is there a maven command to do this? Any other ideas?

  • Odd difference between Python 2.5 and Python 2.6 on MacOS 10.6 using ctypes and libproc proc_pidinfo

    I'm trying to determine the current working directory of a process given its PID. The command-line utility lsof does something similar.   • ASPX FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage function is not working anymore

    Here is my issue. I have an ASPX web site and I have code in there to redirect from the login page with the call to "FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(username, false);" This sends the user from the root website folder to 'website/Admin/'. I have a 'default.aspx' page in 'website/Admin/' and the call to redirect works on a previous version of the website we have running currently, but the one that I am updating on a separate test server is not working. It gives me the error "Directory Listing Denied. This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." I have this in the config file: <authorization> <allow users="*" /> </authorization> under the "authentication" option and... <location path="Admin"> <system.web> <authorization> <deny users="?" /> </authorization> </system.web> </location> for the location of Admin. Also, there is no difference in the code between the web.config, Login.aspx, or the default.aspx files on the current server and the one on the test server, so I am confused as to why the redirect will not work on both. It even works in the Visual Studio server environment, for which the code is also identical. Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

I have started rmiregistry from the command line. Is there an equivalent of LocateRegistry.createRegistry(int)? Or some other way to start the RMI registry / registry used by InitialContext from inside my class?   • popViewController does not autorotate back to allowed orientation

    I have two UIViewControllers, "A" and "B", where "A" overrides the shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation to return YES for UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait, and "B" returns YES for all orientations. In my example "A" is the root navigation view controller, and I then use pushViewController for "B". After that I rotate the device into landscape, which successfully autorotates "B", then I pop "B" (back button or via popViewController) to return to "A". When targetting iPhone OS 3.1.3, "A" returns to the portrait orientation as expected. When targetting iPhone OS 3.2, I have two side-effects: "A" is displayed in landscape. The navigation bar does not update even though "A" is now displayed. The navigation bar still shows the items for "B". Only after trying to go back/pop one more time will the navigation bar animate to show the items for "A". If I instead attempt to push "B" again and go back, I have to pop twice before the navigation bar animates to show the items for "A". During these "intermediate pops" the view for "A" remains displayed. While researching this issue, I have seen other answers suggesting performing the rotation manually ([UIDevice setOrientation] or via a tranformation), however this does not help understand what the problem is, especially why it behaves differently between the two OS's. So my question is: must all of my UIViewControllers on the UINavigationController stack support exactly the same orientations going forward? And if not, then is there something that I need to do to make it behave as it did for OS 3.1.3?

  • Nhibernate: distinct results in second level Collection

    I have an object model like this: class EntityA { ... IList<EntityB> BList; ... } class EntityB { ... IList<EntityC> CList; } I have to fetch all the colelctions (Blist in EntityA and CList in EntityB), because if they all will be needed to make some operations, if i don't eager load them i will have the select n+1 problem. So the query was this: select a from EntityA a left join fetch a.BList b left join fetch b.CList c The fist problem i faced with this query, was the return of duplicates from the DB, i had EntityA duplicates, because of the left join fetch with BList. A quick read through the hibernate documentation and there were some solutions, first i tried the distinct keyword that supposelly wouldn't replicate the SQL distinct keyword except in some cases, maybe this was one of those cases because i had a SQL error saying that i cannot select distict text columns (column [Observations] in EntityA table). So i used one of the other solutions: query.SetResultTransformer(new DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer()); This worked fine. But the result of the operations were still not passing the tests. I checked further and i found out that now there were duplicates of EntityB, because of the left join fetch with CList. The question is, how can i use the distinct in a second level collection? I searched and i only find solutions for the root entity's direct child collection, but never for the second level child collections... Thank you for your time

  • Debugging SQL Server Slowness: Same Database, Different Servers

    For a while now we've been having anecdotal slowness on our newly-minted (VMWare-based) SQL Server 2005 database servers. Recently the problem has come to a head and I've started looking for the root cause of the issue. Here's the weird part: on the stored procedure that I'm using as a performance test case, I get a 30x difference in the execution speed depending on which DB server I run it on. This is using the same database (mdf) and log (ldf) files, detached, copied, and reattached from the slow server to the fast one. This doesn't appear to be a (virtualized) hardware issue: he slow server has 4x the CPU capacity and 2x the memory as the fast one. As best as I can tell, the problem lies in the environment/configuration of the servers (either operating system or SQL Server installation). However, I've checked a bunch of variables (SQL Server config options, running services, disk fragmentation) and found nothing that has made a difference in testing. What things should I be looking at? What tools can I use to investigate why this is happening?

    I am trying to get Undo/Redo keyboard shortcuts working in my WPF application (I have my own custom functionality implemented using the Command Pattern). It seems, however, that the TextBox control is intercepting my "Undo" RoutedUICommand. What is the simplest way to disable this so that I can catch Ctrl+Z at the root of my UI tree? I would like to avoid putting a ton of code/XAML into each TextBox in my application if possible.   • JAXB: How to avoid repeated namespace definition for xmlns:xsi

    I have a JAXB setup where I use a @XmlJavaTypeAdapter to replace objects of type Person with objects of type PersonRef that only contains the person's UUID. This works perfectly fine. However, the generated XML redeclares the same namespace (xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance") every time it's used. While this is generally okay, it just doesn't feel right. How can I configure JAXB to declare xmlns:xsi at the very beginning of the document? Can I manually add namespace declarations to the root element?     Hi guys, I have another question. XMLhttpRequests haunt me. Everything is now in the database but I need this data to update my page on firt page load or reload. The XHR is triggered in JavaScript file which triggers PHP-Script. PHP-Script access MySQL database. But how do I get the fetched records back into my JavaScript for page update. I can not figure it out.   • ntpd on Fedora Core 6 with high negative time rest values

    The basic problem is we have a FC6 server instance running on a virtual machine, and the system time seems to have been slowly varying until it is now causing a problem. The server runs 24/7 and has been up for 155 days. It has been changed to show GMT, and reports the time as (example) 00:15:15 GMT whereas the actual time is 00:00:00 GMT. This is an offset of 915 seconds. selinux has been changed to 'setenforce 0' for testing and I am running as root. I stop the ntpd service and change the time in System|Administration|Date & Time. The time still shows the same with 'date' in bash. There are no error logs. I change the date with 'date --set' in bash. The response confirms the changed date. I run 'date' and the incorrect date is shown. There are no error logs. I start the ntpd service and /var/log/messages shows success with 'time reset -915.720139s'. The date remains unchanged. ntpq -p shows three three time servers all have offsets of around -915 seconds. I stop ntpd service and try 'ntpd -gqx' and get the same result as above - success, but a large negative time reset. I've tried varying combinations of the above, and a few more settings in System|Administration|Date & Time - no change. I just need to reset the system time to GMT. No offset.     I'm trying to get Passenger working with Ubuntu 10.10 and I'm running into a problem. It seems that the passenger installer is not recognizing the virtual package. I'm getting this error: Code: passenger-install-apache2-module ... * OpenSSL support for Ruby... not found ... And then it says, run this: * To install OpenSSL support for Ruby: Please run apt-get install libopenssl-ruby as root. When I run the above command, it refers to the libruby package: sudo apt-get install libopenssl-ruby Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Note, selecting 'libruby' instead of 'libopenssl-ruby' libruby is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 43 not upgraded.   • pushViewController Not Displaying UIView/Nib with tabbar and nav bar

    I'm relatively new to objective c but not programming and am stuck with my iphone app. I created a nav based app with both a navbar and a tab bar controller. I set the tab bar as the root controller. I'm able to switch between each tab without any issues to various UIViews and UITableViews. My issue is that in one of my UITableViews that I call from the TabBarController, didSelectRowAtIndexPath function is suppose to display a new UIView. The below code does not give any errors and runs fine but does not show the new Nib. if(newViewController == nil) { NSLog(@"yes nil"); BookViewController *aNewViewController = [[BookViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"BookOptionView" bundle:nil]; self.newViewController = aNewViewController; [aNewViewController release]; } BookAppDelegate *delegate = (BookAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [delegate.appNavBar pushViewController:newViewController animated:YES]; Now when I do the below, it works fine but it gets rid of the nav and tab which I'm assuming because its a modal call instead of pushing the view controller. I have a clientaccesspolicy.xml in the root directory and am able to asynchronously load the same file from silverlight. So I would think I should be able to access from AJAX as well.   • UISearchDisplayController not working when created in code??

    I'm working on a tab bar application and one of the tabs has a UISearchDisplayController hooked up to a UISearchBar. It's all connected up in the NIB and is working. When I tap the search bar, the Scope and Cancel buttons fly in etc, and the search delegate updates the results table correctly. However, I'm trying to implement the same code in the viewDidLoad message instead of the NIB, however when I delete the search display controller from the NIB and uncomment my code to create the same controller in the function, it doesn't work. It's as if there's some fundamental connection not being made so that all my search delegate functionality isn't being called. Here's my working NIB version of the Search Display Controller. It's hooked up to the search bar, the UINavigationController subclass (MASearchController) and the root view of that is hooked up as the searchContentsController. Now this is what you would expect to do in code to create the same, right? What I'm doing is leaving the UISearchBar in the NIB to eliminate one piece of the puzzle at a time in code. // [MASearchController viewDidLoad] UISearchDisplayController *searchController = [[[UISearchDisplayController alloc] initWithSearchBar:searchBar contentsController:[[self viewControllers] objectAtIndex:0]] autorelease]; [searchController setDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDataSource:self]; I've checked all objects at run time and they all check out. Essentially I've deleted the search display controller from the NIB and then put in the code to create it in the viewDidLoad message. Why would this not work? The search keyboard comes up but none of my search and button animation functionality work???

But its not working with the dll file created using setup_VI.py I have created dll file using python setup_VI.py py2exe and then tried to register it using regsvr32 test_icon_overlay.dll. Registration fails with windows error message Error 0x80040201 while registering shell extension. Then I turned on logger in Python27/Lib/site-packages/py2exe/boot_com_servers.py and here is the traceback which I am getting in comerror.txt on regsvr32 test_icon_overlay.dll PATH is ['C:\\root\\avalon\\module\\sync\\python\\src\\dist\\library.zip'] Traceback (most recent call last): File "boot_com_servers.py", line 37, in <module> pywintypes.error: (126, 'GetModuleFileName', 'The specified module could not be found.')
