  • What happens if two people submit edits at once

    - by Karl Entwistle
    Hi there, This might be a stupid questions but I wanted to know what happens if two users edit some data at once and then both click submit at the same time, I assumed Rails handled requests one after the other and so someone would get an error message but is this correct? Thanks (Once one person has edited data I dont want it to be accessible or editable anymore)

  • All is working except if($_POST['submit']=='Update')

    - by user1319909
    I have a working registration and login system. I am trying to create a form where a user can add product registration info (via mysql update). I can't seem to get the db to actually update the fields. What am I missing here?!? <?php define('INCLUDE_CHECK',true); require 'connect.php'; require 'functions.php'; // Those two files can be included only if INCLUDE_CHECK is defined session_name('tzLogin'); // Starting the session session_set_cookie_params(2*7*24*60*60); // Making the cookie live for 2 weeks session_start(); if($_SESSION['id'] && !isset($_COOKIE['tzRemember']) && !$_SESSION['rememberMe']) { // If you are logged in, but you don't have the tzRemember cookie (browser restart) // and you have not checked the rememberMe checkbox: $_SESSION = array(); session_destroy(); // Destroy the session } if(isset($_GET['logoff'])) { $_SESSION = array(); session_destroy(); header("Location: index_login3.php"); exit; } if($_POST['submit']=='Login') { // Checking whether the Login form has been submitted $err = array(); // Will hold our errors if(!$_POST['username'] || !$_POST['password']) $err[] = 'All the fields must be filled in!'; if(!count($err)) { $_POST['username'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['username']); $_POST['password'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['password']); $_POST['rememberMe'] = (int)$_POST['rememberMe']; // Escaping all input data $row = mysql_fetch_assoc(mysql_query("SELECT * FROM electrix_users WHERE usr='{$_POST['username']}' AND pass='".md5($_POST['password'])."'")); if($row['usr']) { // If everything is OK login $_SESSION['usr']=$row['usr']; $_SESSION['id'] = $row['id']; $_SESSION['email'] = $row['email']; $_SESSION['first'] = $row['first']; $_SESSION['last'] = $row['last']; $_SESSION['address1'] = $row['address1']; $_SESSION['address2'] = $row['address2']; $_SESSION['city'] = $row['city']; $_SESSION['state'] = $row['state']; $_SESSION['zip'] = $row['zip']; $_SESSION['country'] = $row['country']; $_SESSION['product1'] = $row['product1']; $_SESSION['serial1'] = $row['serial1']; $_SESSION['product2'] = $row['product2']; $_SESSION['serial2'] = $row['serial2']; $_SESSION['product3'] = $row['product3']; $_SESSION['serial3'] = $row['serial3']; $_SESSION['rememberMe'] = $_POST['rememberMe']; // Store some data in the session setcookie('tzRemember',$_POST['rememberMe']); } else $err[]='Wrong username and/or password!'; } if($err) $_SESSION['msg']['login-err'] = implode('<br />',$err); // Save the error messages in the session header("Location: index_login3.php"); exit; } else if($_POST['submit']=='Register') { // If the Register form has been submitted $err = array(); if(strlen($_POST['username'])<4 || strlen($_POST['username'])>32) { $err[]='Your username must be between 3 and 32 characters!'; } if(preg_match('/[^a-z0-9\-\_\.]+/i',$_POST['username'])) { $err[]='Your username contains invalid characters!'; } if(!checkEmail($_POST['email'])) { $err[]='Your email is not valid!'; } if(!count($err)) { // If there are no errors $pass = substr(md5($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'].microtime().rand(1,100000)),0,6); // Generate a random password $_POST['email'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['email']); $_POST['username'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['username']); $_POST['first'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['first']); $_POST['last'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['last']); $_POST['address1'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['address1']); $_POST['address2'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['address2']); $_POST['city'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['city']); $_POST['state'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['state']); $_POST['zip'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['zip']); $_POST['country'] = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['country']); // Escape the input data mysql_query(" INSERT INTO electrix_users(usr,pass,email,first,last,address1,address2,city,state,zip,country,regIP,dt) VALUES( '".$_POST['username']."', '".md5($pass)."', '".$_POST['email']."', '".$_POST['first']."', '".$_POST['last']."', '".$_POST['address1']."', '".$_POST['address2']."', '".$_POST['city']."', '".$_POST['state']."', '".$_POST['zip']."', '".$_POST['country']."', '".$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']."', NOW() )"); if(mysql_affected_rows($link)==1) { send_mail( '[email protected]', $_POST['email'], 'Your New Electrix User Password', 'Thank you for registering at www.electrixpro.com.   • Re-order form fields on submit url

    - by user2521764
    I have a get form with several visible and hidden input fields. When the form is submitted, selected fileds with their values are appended to the url in the order they are placed in the form. Is there a way to re-order the parameters in the url using jQuery? Note that for the reasons of usability, I can not re-order the elements on the form itself. I know it beggs the question "why would I want to do it?", but the reason is that I will be hitting a static page, so the order of the parameters have to be exactly how they are in the static page url. For example, my form returns a url: http://someurl??names=comm&search=all&type=list while the static page has a url: http://someurl??search=all&type=list&names=comm A simplified form example is here: <form id="search_form" method="get" action="http://www.cbif.gc.ca/pls/pp/ppack.jump" > <h2>Choose which names you want to be displayed</h2> <select name="names"> <option value="comm">Common names</option> <option value="sci">Scientific names</option> </select> <h2>Choose how you want to view the results</h2> <input type="radio" name="search" value="all" id="complete" checked = "checked" /> <label for="complete" id="completeLabel">Complete list</label> <br/> <input type="radio" name="p_null" value="house" id="house" /> <label for="house" id="houseLabel">House plants only</label> <br/> <input type="radio" name="p_null" value="illust" id="illustrat" /> <label for="illustrat" id="illustratLabel">Plants with Illustrations</label> <br/> <input type="hidden" name="type" value="list" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> I can get form fields with values using $(#search_form).serializeArray() and massage the array like I want to, but I don't know how to set it back, i.e. modify the serialized values so that the submitted url has my order of parameters. I'm not even sure if this is the right way to go about it, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ruby on Rails: create records for multiple models with one form and one submit

    - by notblakeshelton
    I have a 3 models: quote, customer, and item. Each quote has one customer and one item. I would like to create a new quote, a new customer, and a new item in their respective tables when I press the submit button. I have looked at other questions and railscasts and either they don't work for my situation or I don't know how to implement them. I also want my index page to be the page where I can create everything. quote.rb class Quote < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :quote_number has_one :customer has_one :item end customer.rb class Customer < ActiveRecord::Base #unsure of what to put here #a customer can have multiple quotes, so would i use: has_many :quotes #<----? end item.rb class Item < ActiveRecord::Base #also unsure about this #each item can also be in multiple quotes quotes_controller.rb class QuotesController < ApplicationController def index @quote = Quote.new @customer = Customer.new @item = item.new end def create @quote = Quote.new(params[:quote]) @quote.save @customer = Customer.new(params[:customer]) @customer.save @item = Item.new(params[:item]) @item.save end end items_controller.rb class ItemsController < ApplicationController def index end def new @item = Item.new end def create @item = Item.new(params[:item]) @item.save end end customers_controller.rb class CustomersController < ApplicationController def index end def new @customer = Customer.new end def create @customer = Customer.new(params[:customer]) @customer.save end end quotes/index.html.erb <%= form_for @quote do |f| %> <%= f.fields_for @customer do |builder| %> <%= label_tag :firstname %> <%= builder.text_field :firstname %> <%= label_tag :lastname %> <%= builder.text_field :lastname %> <% end %> <%= f.fields_for @item do |builder| %> <%= label_tag :name %> <%= builder.text_field :name %> <%= label_tag :description %> <%= builder.text_field :description %> <% end %> <%= label_tag :quote_number %> <%= f.text_field :quote_number %> <%= f.submit %> <% end %> When I try submitting that I get an error: Can't mass-assign protected attributes: item, customer So to try and fix it I updated the attr_accessible in quote.rb to include :item, :customer but then I get this error: Item(#) expected, got ActiveSupport::HashWithIndifferentAccess(#) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Use textbox value on submit as a query string variable

    - by Eric
    How would I take a text box value and use it in the query string on submit? I'd like it to start as this, /News?favorites=True and end up something like this after the user enters in a search and clicks search. /News?query=test&favorites=True The controller action looks like this public ActionResult Index(string query,bool favorites) { //search code } This question is something close to what I'd like to do, but I'd like to use the query string and maintain the existing values in the query string. Thanks.

  • Progressive Enhancement vs. Single Page Apps

    - by SeanPlusPlus
    I just got back from a conference in Boston called An Event Apart. A really popular theme amongst the speakers was the idea of progressive enhancement - a site's content should go in the HTML, and JavaScript should only be used to enhance behavior. The arguments that the speakers gave for progressive enhancement were very compelling. Not only is it a solid pattern for supporting older browsers, and devices on a network with low bandwidth, but HTML fails much more gracefully than JavaScript (i.e. markup that is not supported is just ignored, while if a browser throws an exception while executing your script - you are hosed). Jeremy Keith gave a particularly insightful talk about this. But what about single page web apps like Backbone and Angular? The whole design behind these frameworks seems to push the developer toward moving content out of the HTML, and into something like a JSON API. I can not seem to gel these two design patterns: progressive enhancement vs. single page web apps. Are there instances when one is better than the other? Or are they not even antagonistic technologies, and I am missing something here with my mental model?

  • Google Analytics www 301 causing issues with In-Page Analytics

    - by conrad10781
    The closest question I could find to my problem is This one. The similarity is: I have a profile in Google Analytics (GA) that has been collecting data for a year. The domain setting in GA is "http://example.com". The site, however, will redirect any non-www request, to www.example.com, via a typical .htaccess refinement. We do this to keep the traffic on the load balancers. I don't know the method the original user had in place, but we're doing a 301 on any non-www to the www equivalent. I believe this has to be somewhat standard. Where I differ from this question is in the error message I receive when trying to load the In-Page Analytics. I'm instead receiving: Error: The Website in your settings (http://example.com), redirects into a different domain. (http://www.example.com). In-Page Analytics currently works on only one domain. Note that www.example.com and example.com are NOT considered to be on the same domain. Also, make sure you're not redirecting from http:// to https:// or vice versa. I understand what's being explained, it just seems as though this can't be the end-all. I tried updating the Analytics settings, which from day one has been set as "One domain with multiple subdomains", but I don't see any options to change the URL ( which is currently set to http://example.com and not http://www.example.com ). I'd prefer not to have to change the URL if that was at all possible, but I can't seem to find any documentation or anything that provide any possible solutions.

  • What's the difference between General Ledger Transfer Program, Create Accounting and Submit Accounting?

    - by Oracle_EBS
    In Release 12, the General Ledger Transfer Program is no longer used. Use Create Accounting or Submit Accounting instead. Submit Accounting spawns the Revenue Recognition Process. The Create Accounting program does not. So if you create transactions with rules, then you would want to run Submit Accounting Process to spawn Revenue Recognition to create the distribution rows, which Create Accounting is then spawned to process to the GL. Create Accounting Submit Accounting Short Name for Concurrent Program XLAACCPB ARACCPB Specific to Receivables No Yes Runs Revenue Recognition automatically No Yes Can be run real-time for one Transaction/Receipt at a time Yes No Spawns the following Programs 1) XLAACCPB module: Create Accounting 2) XLAACCUP module: Accounting Program 3) GLLEZL module: Journal Import 1) ARTERRPM module: Revenue Recognition Master Program 2) ARTERRPW module: Revenue Recognition with parallel workers - could be numerous 3) ARREVSWP - Revenue Contingency Analyzer 4) XLAACCPB module: Create Accounting 5) XLAACCUP module: Accounting Program 5) GLLEZL module: Journal Import Keep in mind, Reports owned by application 'Subledger Accounting' cannot be seen when running the report from Receivables responsibility. • Fixed JavaScript Warning - Pin to Top of Page Using CSS Position [migrated]

    - by nicorellius
    I am new to this site, but it seems like the right place to ask this question. I am working on a noscript chunk of code whereby I do some stuff that includes a <p> at the top of the page that alerts the users that he/she has JavaScript disabled. The end result should look like the Stack Exchange sites when JavaScript is disabled (here is a screenshot of mine - SE looks similar except it is at the very top of the page): I have it working OK, but I would love it if the red bar stayed fixed along the top, upon scrolling. I tried using the position: fixed; method, but it ends up moving the p element and I can't get it to look exactly the same as it does without the position: fixed; modification. I tried fiddling with CSS top and left and other positioning but it doesn't ever look like I want it to. Here is a CSS snippett: <noscript> <style type="text/css"> p. noscript_warning { position: fixed; } </noscript>

  • Phishing attack stuck with jsp loginAction.do page?

    - by user970533
    I'm testing a phishing website on a staged replica of an jsp web-application. I'm doing the usual attack which involves changing the post and action field of source code to divert to my own written jsp script capture the logins and redirect the victim to the original website. It looks easy, but trust me, it's has been me more then 2 weeks and I cannot write the logins to the text file. I have tested the jsp page on my local wamp server it works fine. In staged, when I click on the ok button for user/password field I'm taken to loginAction.do script. I checked this using the tamper data add-on on Firefox. The only way I was able to make my script run was to use burp proxy intercept the request and change action parameter to refer my uploaded script. I want to know what does an loginAction.do? I have googled it - it's quite common to see it in jsp application. I have checked the code; there is nothing that tells me why the page always points to the .do script instead of mine. Is there some kind of redirection in Tomcat? I like to know. I'm unable to exploit this attack vector? I need the community's help.

  • Center Page Content Horizontally using Div with CSS

    - by Aamir Hasan
    Center your website content to create equal sized Space from  the left and right using css. Horizontally centered by setting its right and left margin widths to "auto". This is the preferred way to accomplish horizontal centering with CSS. Create a warpper div which will hold your content div and then give it a margin:auto attribute which will bring your warpper div into center of page.<html><head><title>Center Page Content Horizontally and Vertically using Div with CSS </title> <style type="text/css">body{background-color:#eaeaea;}  #wrapper {width: 777px;margin:auto}  #content{background-color:#00FF00;min-height:400px;}  </style>  </head>  <body>  <form id="form1" runat="server">  <div id="wrapper"> <div id="wrapper">  <div id="content">  Welcome to Studentacad.com  </div>  </div>  </form>  </body></html>

  • Will search engines reindex a page that has been set to redirect on to a newer site page?

    - by Luke Duddridge
    We were asked by a client to change a website so that any pages/Urls we were hosting on an older site would now redirect to a newer site hosted somewhere else and a different domain name to boot. We did this by changing each page in the IIS site management, to redirect to a url on their new domain instead of rendering a page locally. According to the redirect tool here: http://www.webconfs.com/redirect-check.php . What we have done is search engine friendly. Problem now is... the client has been on a course learning all about meta tags and so thinks they have a better understanding of the "matrix" (remember there is no spoon). As Google still has the older site appearing in a search, this isnt helping matters. I have tried to explain, we have to wait for Google to reindex. I'm not blowing smoke am I? I'm now starting to wonder... will the older site always appear in a search, even though the pages don't exist? Is there a better way I should be redirecting their site to ensure google will stop keeping an index of pages that no longer exist and would instead replace them with the content in the newer site? a suggestion on the site mentioned above is to use the code: Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently" Response.AddHeader "Location","http://www.new-url.com/" Does using the option in the IIS management tool to redirect the url not do the same?

  • Google indexed the same page under two URLs (despite rel-canonical)

    The Super User question "Playing mp3 in quodlibet displays “GStreamer output pipeline could not be initialized” error" is indexed under two URLs in Google: http://superuser.com/questions/651591/playing-mp3-in-quodlibet-displays-gstreamer-output-pipeline-could-not-be-initia http://superuser.com/questions/651591/playing-mp3-in-quodlibet-displays-gstreamer-output-pipeline-could-not-be-initia/652058 The first one is the canonical one; the corresponding rel-canonical is included in both pages: <link rel="canonical" href="http://superuser.com/questions/651591/playing-mp3-in-quodlibet-displays-gstreamer-output-pipeline-could-not-be-initia" /> Google also indexed http://superuser.com/a/652058, which redirects to the answer: http://superuser.com/questions/651591/playing-mp3-in-quodlibet-displays-gstreamer-output-pipeline-could-not-be-initia/652058#652058 Now, the second URL from above is the same as this one minus the fragment #652058. So Google seems to strip the fragment, which results in exactly the same page under another URL (= containing the answer ID /652058 as suffix), and indexes it, too -- despite rel-canonical and duplicate content. Shouldn’t Google recognize this and only index the canonical variant? And what could be the reason why Stack Exchange includes the answer ID in the URL path, and not only in the fragment (resulting in various URL variants for the same page)?
