• Setting the default jsp view with spring mvc

  I want to set one of jsp files in my jsps folder as the default view for the application. Is there any way we can tell in that abc.jsp needs to be default and it can be found in such and such path. Also the url pattern is html so is there a way it can be mapped in Spring MVC. For example - When a user types www.example.com , I want the application to direct to abc.jsp page and also when someone types www.example.com/something, even then application should direct to abc.jsp, but the url pattern shouldnt be compromised. • Build Issue with multi module project

  Hi, I have a multi module web project. Four modules of the project are packaged as jar and added as dependency to the fifth module, which is packaged as war. When it is time to deploy the application i just run package on the war project and my war is created with all the dependencies. Now there is a problem. One of the my module have heavy changes. Now when i created war for my projects these changes was not reflected in the output war file(the jar in lib folder of war has still the old code). Can you please point the things i am missing from the release process? Why the old code is being packaged with the war? Can you please point some good resource for real file build process using maven? Regards, Vijay

• Using sub-repo with hgwebdir difficulties in mercurial

  Allright I got myself in a deadlock with Mercurial and sub-repos... Here's what happenend: I had a large mercurial repo that I server via apache and hgweb.cgi. Due to the size of the repo I decided to move to sub-repositories and share these with hgwebdir.cgi. Using the convert tool with the filemap option I created several sub-repositories: /main/foo /main/bar Nicely created an entry for the sub-repositories in .hgsub: foo = foo bar = bar And set hgwebdir.cgi up to show $/** as the root folder. Now when I went to my site (foo.com/hg) I saw my sub-repositories with one empty reposory among them (no name, no content), but I could not download it (archive location unknown): That was allright until I added a new sub-repository. I could not push the new .hgsub file to foo.com/hg, since that page is served by hgwebdir. The only method I can work currently is switch from hgwebdir to hgweb, commit .hgsubste and switch back to hgwebdir. Does someone have a good setup for such a mess?

• VS2008 CR report viewer. Print and Export to PDF is not working

  I've a web project in VS2008. The problem is that from a web report viewer; report is not getting printed or exported to pdf. Report is being shown alright but when print button or export button is pressed, nothing happens. No errors or crash. Just nothing got happened. Default printer is set alright and I am able to print from that machine.. Am I missing some thing here??? Earlier when I installed the application in a new virtual directory report was not getting shown then I've copied aspnet_Client folder in my newly created web application root and the report was then made visible. However the print and export functionality is not working.

• doctrine regenerating models from yml only the base models?

  I am wondering if there is a way to handle this more elegantly. After generating the "main" models and base models from yml files the first time I have to add at the very leased an include for the base model to the "main" model like so: include_once 'generated/BaseBlog.php'; At the moment before I regenerate the models I move my changed main models, which is mostly way more then just the include path, in to a tmp folder then I delete all the models. And after regenerating I move my modified models back overwriting the generated main models. isn't there a way to just create the base models and not touch the main models? Or how do you guys handle this?

  Hello: Some months ago, a colleague of mine installed ODAC 11.106.21 in a server using XCOPY and then he developed many applications that use this client without problems (in test and production windows servers). Past week, I developed an application under ODAC 11.1.07.20. When I asked him to install these new ODAC version using XCOPY in a different folder and then include my application in the test server, he answered me that I should use ODAC 11.106.21 because he could have troubles with his applications. So I would like to know: 1) If it is really possible to have two different ODAC versions in one server. 2) If the answer is positive, how can I firmly ensure to my colleague that he will not have troubles with his applications? 3) If the answer is positive, is this necessary to do some kind of configuration in the server? • No styles / images on asp.Net MVC 2 application

  Greetings i have a little problem with my ASP MVC application. On my local development server everything works just fine but when i try to publish the application to an IIS 7.0 server it just displays plain pages without any styles / markups / images. I put all those things in the /Content/ subfolder but when i try to access that folder on the production server it just returns me a 404 not found error. I set the IIS server up with .Net 4.0 and followed the deployment guide on here: http://www.asp.net/learn/mvc/tutorial-08-cs.aspx All views / controllers / classes seem to work just fine, the only thing which does not is the content subfolder and i cant see why. Anyone got a suggestion what i could have overlooked or does anyone know that problem?

• Tortoise SVN tree conflict with myself

  Has anyone had the experience of moving a file in tortoise and committing successfully, only to later commit a different change and be told of a tree conflict where: the file in its original location has been deleted, but in tortoise is marked as missing the file in its new location is there, but marked as already added. (I use tortoise SVN, and we have client and server 1.60) Nobody else changed either the directory or the file (according to svn log). Why is this happening? Is there a way to avoid it happening? If it does happen, is there a more elegant way of fixing the problem than by deleting the whole folder and updating again?

  Hi in my application there is web browser control to show some static html pages. The pages are displayed properly. but images are not displayed.. I tried with changing src-path but no success. my html file is located at bin folder. And i am assigning it as. FileStream source = new FileStream(@"..\HtmlPages\supportHtml.html", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); if i open html files in browser, the images are displayed properly.. So, What is the correct path for images..?? If i set full path to src attribute of <img> tag..it works. but i think its not a proper way. :(

  If I run a package from the Management Studio, and specify a configuration file, everything works as expected. However if I try and run the package from the command prompt with DTExec I get the error: Cannot load the XML configuration file. The XML configuration file may be malformed or not valid. The command I'm using to execute the package is: dtexec /conf ConfigurationDemo.dtsConfig /f Package.dtsx I am running the dtexec from the folder where these two files reside. Is there an addtional switch or something that must used to get dtexec to behave the same was at the management Stduio in launching a package?

• VB.NET localization

  In my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR, nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

• Do I really need cmake for build automation?

  I'm currently investigating cmake to allow automatic building on the Win32 platform. For all runtimes and libraries I'd like to build, Visual Studio (2008/2010) projects do allready exist. I've come across cmake, but I'm unsure if I really need it. As the documentation says, cmake generates VS projects and they then can be built e.g. using MSBuild. As the projects itself allready do exist (and build nicely via the IDE or MSBuild on the cmd line), what do I need and use cmake for? Just for directory/project folder traversal?   I have a huge website (containing around 5000+) pages. There is a theme functionality in the website where user can choose different colors for their profile. Now i want to use the ASP.net theme feature and put different CSS (for different colors) in the theme folder and in Global.asax i want check the user theme and render appropriate link element with the css. But my problem is, i am not able to access the Page element for adding the link in the page. Here is my code Dim page As System.Web.UI.Page = TryCast(System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Handler,System.Web.UI.Page) page.StyleSheetTheme = "Black" But when i run this code I get a Null reference error. P.s : My application is very huge so its not possible to have a master page or a base class and inherit it in every page. Please suggest.
