  • Reflect on an ExpandoObject

    - by Water Cooler v2
    I have written a nifty function that will accept a system.object, reflect on its properties and serialize the object into a JSON string. It looks like this: public class JSONSerializer { public string Serialize(object obj) Now, I want to be able to do this to serialize a dynamic/ExpandoObject, but because my serializer uses reflection, it isn't able to do it. What's the workaround? public class Test { public dynamic MakeDynamicCat() { dynamic newCat = new ExpandoObject(); newCat.Name = "Polly"; newCat.Pedigree = new ExpandoObject(); newCat.Pedigree.Breed = "Whatever"; return newCat; } public void SerializeCat() { new JSONSerializer().Serialize(MakeDynamicCat()); } }

  • Android custom ListView unable to click on items

    - by MattC
    So I have a custom ListView object. The list items have two textviews stacked on top of each other, plus a horizontal progress bar that I want to remain hidden until I actually do something. To the far right is a checkbox that I only want to display when the user needs to download updates to their database(s). When I disable the checkbox by setting the visibility to Visibility.GONE, I am able to click on the list items. When the checkbox is visible, I am unable to click on anything in the list except the checkboxes. I've done some searching but haven't found anything relevant to my current situation. I found this question but I'm using an overridden ArrayAdapter since I'm using ArrayLists to contain the list of databases internally. Do I just need to get the LinearLayout view and add an onClickListener like Tom did? I'm not sure. Here's the listview row layout XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight" android:padding="6dip"> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/UpdateNameText" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:textSize="18sp" android:gravity="center_vertical" /> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:id="@+id/UpdateStatusText" android:singleLine="true" android:ellipsize="marquee" /> <ProgressBar android:id="@+id/UpdateProgress" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:indeterminateOnly="false" android:progressDrawable="@android:drawable/progress_horizontal" android:indeterminateDrawable="@android:drawable/progress_indeterminate_horizontal" android:minHeight="10dip" android:maxHeight="10dip" /> </LinearLayout> <CheckBox android:text="" android:id="@+id/UpdateCheckBox" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> And here's the class that extends the ListActivity. Obviously it's still in development so forgive the things that are missing or might be left laying around: import java.util.List; import android.app.ListActivity; import android.content.Context; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.LayoutInflater; import android.view.View; import android.view.ViewGroup; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.CheckBox; import android.widget.ListView; import android.widget.ProgressBar; import android.widget.TextView; import com.xxxx.android.R; import com.xxxx.android.DAO.AccountManager; import com.xxxx.android.model.UpdateItem; public class UpdateActivity extends ListActivity { AccountManager lookupDb; boolean allSelected; UpdateListAdapter list; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); lookupDb = new AccountManager(this); lookupDb.loadUpdates(); setContentView(R.layout.update); allSelected = false; list = new UpdateListAdapter(this, R.layout.update_row, lookupDb.getUpdateItems()); setListAdapter(list);

  • ServiceLocator not initialized in Tests project

    - by Carl Bussema
    When attempting to write a test related to my new Tasks (MVC3, S#arp 2.0), I get this error when I try to run the test: MyProject.Tests.MyProject.Tasks.CategoryTasksTests.CanConfirmDeleteReadiness: SetUp : System.NullReferenceException : ServiceLocator has not been initialized; I was trying to retrieve SharpArch.NHibernate.ISessionFactoryKeyProvider ---- System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at SharpArch.Domain.SafeServiceLocator1.GetService() at SharpArch.NHibernate.SessionFactoryKeyHelper.GetKeyFrom(Object anObject) at SharpArch.NHibernate.NHibernateRepositoryWithTypedId2.get_Session() at SharpArch.NHibernate.NHibernateRepositoryWithTypedId2.Save(T entity) at MyProject.Tests.MyProject.Tasks.CategoryTasksTests.Setup() in C:\code\MyProject\Solutions\MyProject.Tests\MyProject.Tasks\CategoryTasksTests.cs:line 36 --NullReferenceException at Microsoft.Practices.ServiceLocation.ServiceLocator.get_Current() at SharpArch.Domain.SafeServiceLocator1.GetService() Other tests which do not involve the new class (e.g., generate/confirm database mappings) run correctly. • jqGrid using a servlet to store the data, how to access the data from a different java class

    - by Sam
    I'm using jqGrid for a table input and setting up the url as a servlet which will deal with the GET and POST requests and save the rows to a Java object. I'm using webwork web framework and I was wondering how I can get access to the object that the servlet is saving the data to. One way I have thought of is to just call the GET method from the Java action class which the servlet will return a JSON string with the object data. Is there a better design for doing this? This is probably not too clear so ask questions so I can help get across my point. Thanks

  • exchange web service C# code send email from home

    - by KK
    Is it possible to write C# code as below and send email using my home network? I have a valid user name and password on that exchange server. Is there any configuration that I can set to achieve this? BTW this code blow works when I run it within office network. I want this code to work when run from any network. String cMSExchangeWebServiceURL = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["MSExchangeWebServiceURL"]; String cEmail = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["Cemail"]; String cPassword = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["Cpassword"]; String cTo = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["CTo"]; ExchangeServiceBinding esb = new ExchangeServiceBinding(); esb.Timeout = 1800000; esb.AllowAutoRedirect = true; esb.UseDefaultCredentials = false; esb.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(cEmail, cPassword); esb.Url = cMSExchangeWebServiceURL; ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback += delegate(object sender1, X509Certificate certificate, X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) { return true; }; // Create a CreateItem request object CreateItemType request = new CreateItemType(); // Setup the request: // Indicate that we only want to send the message. • Locking Cache Key without Locking the entire Cache

    - by Gandalf
    I have servlets that caches user information rather then retrieving it from the user store on every request (shared Ehcache). The issue I have is that if a client is multi-threaded and they make more then one simultaneous request, before they have been authenticated, then I get this in my log: Retrieving User [Bob] Retrieving User [Bob] Retrieving User [Bob] Returned [Bob] ...caching Returned [Bob] ...caching Returned [Bob] ...caching What I would want is that the first request would call the user service, while the other two requests get blocked - and when the first request returns, and then caches the object, the other two requests go through: Retrieving User [Bob] blocking... blocking... Returned [Bob] ...caching [Bob] found in cache [Bob] found in cache I've thought about locking on the String "Bob" (because due to interning it's always the same object right?). Would that work? And if so how do I keep track of the keys that actually exist in the cache and build a locking mechanism around them that would then return the valid object once it's retrieved. Thanks.

  • Edit and render RichText

    - by OregonGhost
    We have an application (a custom network management tool for building automation) that supports printing labels that you can cut out and insert into the devices' front displays. In earlier versions of the tool (not developed in my company), the application just pushed the strings into an Excel file that the field technician could then manipulate (like formatting text). We didn't do this in the new version because it was hard (impossible) to keep the Excel file in sync, and to avoid a binding to an external application (let alone different versions of Excel). We're using PDFSharp for rendering the labels. It has a System.Drawing-like interface, but can output to a System.Drawing.Graphics (screen / printer) as well as to a PDF file, which is a requirement. Later, basic formatting was introduced like Font Family, Style, Size, Color which would apply to one label (i.e. to exactly one string). Now the customer wants to be able to apply these formats to single characters in a string. I think the easiest way would be to support a subset of RichText. It's not as easy as I thought though. Currently the editor just displays a TextBox for the label you want to edit, with the font set to the label's font. I thought I'd just replace it with RichTextBox, and update the formatting buttons to use the RichTextBox formatting properties. Fairly easy. However, I need to draw the text. I know you can get the RichTextBox to draw to a HDC or System.Drawing.Graphics - but as already said, I need it to use PDFSharp. Rendering to bitmaps is not an option, since the PDF must not be huge, and it's a lot of labels. Unfortunately I couldn't get the RichTextBox to tell me the layout of the text - I'm fine with doing the actual rendering by hand, as long as I know where to draw what. This is the first question: How can I get the properly layouted metrics of the rich text out of a RichTextBox? Or is there any way to convert the rich text to a vector graphics format that can be easily drawn manually? I know about NRTFTree which can be used to parse and manipulate RichText. The documentation is bad (actually I don't know, it's Spanish), but I think I can get it to work. As far as I understood, it won't provide layouting as well. Because of this, I think I'll have to write a custom edit control (remember, it's basically just one or two line labels with basic RTF formatting, not a full-fledged edit control - more like editing a textbox in PowerPoint) and write custom text layout logic that used PDFSharp rather than System.Drawing for drawing. Is there any existing, even if partial, solution available, either for the editing or for doing the layout manually (or both)? Or is there an entirely different approach I'm just not seeing? Bonus points if exporting the label texts as RTF into a CSV file, and then importing in Excel retains the formatting. For the editing part, I need it to work in Windows Forms. Other than that it's not Windows-Forms-related, I think.

  • List display names from django models

    - by Ed
    I have an object: POP_CULTURE_TYPES = ( ('SG','Song'), ('MV', 'Movie'), ('GM', 'Game'), ('TV', 'TV'), ) class Pop_Culture(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=30, unique=True) type = models.CharField(max_length=2, choices = POP_CULTURE_TYPES, blank=True, null=True) Then I have a function: def choice_list(request, modelname, field_name): mdlnm = get.model('mdb', modelname.lower()) mdlnm = mdlnm.objects.values_list(field_name, flat=True).distinct().order_by(field_name) return render_to_response("choice_list.html", { 'model' : modelname, 'field' : field_name, 'field_list' : mdlnm }) This gives me a distinct list of all the "type" entries in the database in the "field_list" variable passed in render_to_response. But I don't want a list that shows: SG MV I want a list that shows: Song Movie I can do this on an individual object basis if I was in the template object.get_type_display But how do I get a list of all of the unique "type" entries in the database as their full names for output into a template? I hope this question was clearly described. . .

  • Excel get_Range missing when interop assembly is embedded in .NET 4.0

    - by mikemay
    I build an assembly referencing a COM interop DLL. If I embed the COM interop types by setting Embed Interop Types to True in the Reference's properties (VS2010), at run-time an error occurs "object does not contain a definition for get_Range". If COM interop types are not embedded then no error occurs. Does anyone know why a particular method, Worksheet.get_Range should be ommitted or how to work around this or have any other relevant insights? I should be grateful for any help. The interop dll contains a reference to Worksheet.get_Range(object, [object]). Using reflector on my calling assembly there is no mention of get_Range under Worksheet. The interop assembly I am embedding is generated from Excel9.olb. I am not using PIAs as the application targets multiple Excel versions.

  • asp.net MVC RC1 RenderPartial ViewDataDictionary

    - by Mark79
    I'm trying to pass a ViewData object from a master page to a view user control using the ViewDataDictionary. The problem is the ViewDataDictionary is not returning any values in the view user control whichever way i try it. The sample code below is using an anonymous object just for demonstration although neither this method or passing a ViewData object works. Following is the RenderPartial helper method i'm trying to use: <% Html.RenderPartial("/Views/Project/Projects.ascx", ViewData.Eval("Projects"), new ViewDataDictionary(new { Test = "Mark" })); %> and in my view user control i do the following: <%= Html.Encode(ViewData["Test"]) %> Why does this not return anything? Thanks for your help. EDIT: I'm able to pass and access the stronlgy typed model without any problems. it's the ViewDataDictionary which i'm trying to use to pass say just a single value outside of the model..

  • c#, asp.net, dynamicdata Validation Exception Message Caught in JavaScript, not DynamicValidator (Dy

    - by Perplexed
    I have a page here with a few list views on it that are all bound to Linq data sources and they seem to be working just fine. I want to add validation such that when a checkbox (IsVoid on the object) is checked, comments must be entered (VoidedComments on the object). Here's the bound object's OnValidate method: partial void OnValidate(ChangeAction action) { if (action == ChangeAction.Update) { if (_IsVoid) { string comments = this.VoidedComments; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(this._VoidedComments)) { throw new ValidationException("Voided Comments are Required to Void an Error"); } } } } Despite there being a dynamic validator on the page referencing the same ValidationGroup as the dynaimc control, when the exception fires, it's caught in JavaScript and the debugger wants to break in. The message is never delivered to the UI as expected. Any thoughts as to What's going on?

  • WPF: how to find an element in a datatemplate from an itemscontrol

    - by EV
    Hi, I have the following problem: the application is using the custom itemscontrol called ToolBox. The elements of a toolbox are called toolboxitems and are custom contentcontrol. Now, the toolbox stores a number of images that are retrieved from a database and displayed. For that I use a datatemplate inside the toolbox control. However, when I try to drag and drop the elements, I don't get the image object but the database component. I thought that I should then traverse the structure to find the Image element. here's the code: Toolbox: public class Toolbox : ItemsControl { private Size defaultItemSize = new Size(65, 65); public Size DefaultItemSize { get { return this.defaultItemSize; } set { this.defaultItemSize = value; } } protected override DependencyObject GetContainerForItemOverride() { return new ToolboxItem(); } protected override bool IsItemItsOwnContainerOverride(object item) { return (item is ToolboxItem); } } ToolBoxItem: public class ToolboxItem : ContentControl { private Point? dragStartPoint = null; static ToolboxItem() { FrameworkElement.DefaultStyleKeyProperty.OverrideMetadata(typeof(ToolboxItem), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(typeof(ToolboxItem))); } protected override void OnPreviewMouseDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnPreviewMouseDown(e); this.dragStartPoint = new Point?(e.GetPosition(this)); } public String url { get; private set; } protected override void OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseMove(e); if (e.LeftButton != MouseButtonState.Pressed) { this.dragStartPoint = null; } if (this.dragStartPoint.HasValue) { Point position = e.GetPosition(this); if ((SystemParameters.MinimumHorizontalDragDistance <= Math.Abs((double)(position.X - this.dragStartPoint.Value.X))) || (SystemParameters.MinimumVerticalDragDistance <= Math.Abs((double)(position.Y - this.dragStartPoint.Value.Y)))) { string xamlString = XamlWriter.Save(this.Content); MessageBoxResult result = MessageBox.Show(xamlString); DataObject dataObject = new DataObject("DESIGNER_ITEM", xamlString); if (dataObject != null) { DragDrop.DoDragDrop(this, dataObject, DragDropEffects.Copy); } } e.Handled = true; } } private childItem FindVisualChild<childItem>(DependencyObject obj) where childItem : DependencyObject { for (int i = 0; i < VisualTreeHelper.GetChildrenCount(obj); i++) { DependencyObject child = VisualTreeHelper.GetChild(obj, i); if (child != null && child is childItem) return (childItem)child; else { childItem childOfChild = FindVisualChild<childItem>(child); if (childOfChild != null) return childOfChild; } } return null; } } here is the xaml file for ToolBox and toolbox item: <Style TargetType="{x:Type s:ToolboxItem}"> <Setter Property="Control.Padding" Value="5" /> <Setter Property="ContentControl.HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch" /> <Setter Property="ContentControl.VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch" /> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding ToolTip}" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type s:ToolboxItem}"> <Grid> <Rectangle Name="Border" StrokeThickness="1" StrokeDashArray="2" Fill="Transparent" SnapsToDevicePixels="true" /> <ContentPresenter Content="{TemplateBinding ContentControl.Content}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding UIElement.SnapsToDevicePixels}" ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding ContentTemplate}"/> </Grid> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="true"> <Setter TargetName="Border" Property="Stroke" Value="Gray" /> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type s:Toolbox}"> <Setter Property="SnapsToDevicePixels" Value="true" /> <Setter Property="Focusable" Value="False" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <Border BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding Border.BorderThickness}" Padding="{TemplateBinding Control.Padding}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding Border.BorderBrush}" Background="{TemplateBinding Panel.Background}" SnapsToDevicePixels="True"> <ScrollViewer VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto"> <ItemsPresenter SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding UIElement.SnapsToDevicePixels}" /> </ScrollViewer> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="ItemsPanel"> <Setter.Value> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <WrapPanel Margin="0,5,0,5" ItemHeight="{Binding Path=DefaultItemSize.Height, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=s:Toolbox}}" ItemWidth="{Binding Path=DefaultItemSize.Width, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=s:Toolbox}}" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </ResourceDictionary> Example usage: <Toolbox x:Name="NewLibrary" DefaultItemSize="55,55" ItemsSource="{Binding}" > <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel> <Image Source="{Binding Path=url}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </Toolbox> The object that I get is a database object. When using a static resource I get the Image object. How to retrieve this Image object from a datatemplate? I though that I could use this tutorial: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb613579.aspx But it does not seem to solve the problem. Could anyone suggest a solution? Thanks!

  • Overriding Equals method in Structs

    - by devoured elysium
    I've looked for overriding guidelines for structs, but all I can find is for classes. At first I thought I wouldn't have to check to see if the passed object was null, as structs are value types and can't be null. But now that I come to think of it, as equals signature is public bool Equals(object obj) it seems there is nothing preventing the user of my struct to be trying to compare it with an arbitrary reference type. My second point concerns the casting I (think I) have to make before I compare my private fields in my struct. How am I supposed to cast the object to my struct's type? C#'s as keyword seems only suitable for reference types. Thanks

  • Android ProgressDialog Progress Bar doing things in the right order

    - by FauxReal
    I just about got this, but I have a small problem in the order of things going off. Specifically, in my thread() I am setting up an array that is used by a Spinner. Problem is the Spinner is all set and done basically before my thread() is finished, so it sets itself up with a null array. How do I associate the spinners ArrayAdapter with an array that is being loaded by another thread? I've cut the code down to what I think is necessary to understand the problem, but just let me know if more is needed. The problem occurs whether or not refreshData() is called. Along the same lines, sometimes I want to call loadData() from the menu. Directly following loadData() if I try to fire a toast on the next line this causes a forceclose, which is also because of how I'm implementing ProgressDialog. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING public class CMSHome extends Activity { private static List<String> pmList = new ArrayList<String>(); // Instantiate helpers PMListHelper plh = new PMListHelper(); ProjectObjectHelper poc = new ProjectObjectHelper(); // These objects hold lists and methods for dealing with them private Employees employees; private Projects projects; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); // Loads data from filesystem, or webservice if necessary loadData(); // Capture spinner and associate pmList with it through ArrayAdapter spinner = (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.spinner); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>( this, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_item, pmList); adapter.setDropDownViewResource(android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); spinner.setAdapter(adapter); //---the button is wired to an event handler--- Button btn1 = (Button)findViewById(R.id.btnGetProjects); btn1.setOnClickListener(btnListAllProjectsListener); spinner.setOnItemSelectedListener(new MyOnItemSelectedListener()); } private void loadData() { final ProgressDialog pd = ProgressDialog.show(this, "Please wait", "Loading Data...", true, false); new Thread(new Runnable(){ public void run(){ employees = plh.deserializeEmployeeData(); projects = poc.deserializeProjectData(); // Check to see if data actually loaded, if not then refresh if ((employees == null) || (projects == null)) { refreshData(); } // Load up pmList for spinner control pmList = employees.getPMList(); pd.dismiss(); } }).start(); } private void refreshData() { // Refresh data for Projects projects = poc.refreshData(); poc.saveProjectData(mCtx, projects); // Refresh data for PMList employees = plh.refreshData(); plh.savePMData(mCtx, employees); } } <---- EDIT ----- I tried changing loadData() to the following after Jims suggestion. Not sure if I did this right, still doesn't work: private void loadData() { final ProgressDialog pd = ProgressDialog.show(this, "Please wait", "Loading Data...", true, false); new Thread(new Runnable(){ public void run(){ employees = plh.deserializeEmployeeData(); projects = poc.deserializeProjectData(); // Check to see if data actually loaded, if not return false if ((employees == null) || (projects == null)) { refreshData(); } pd.dismiss(); runOnUiThread(new Runnable() { public void run(){ // Load up pmList for spinner control pmList = employees.getPMList(); } }); } }).start(); }

  • Button click does not start Service in Android App Widget

    - by Feanor
    I'm having trouble starting a Service to update an AppWidget that I'm creating as an exercise. I'm trying to get the latitude and longitude of spoofed location data from DDMS to display in the widget. The widget uses a service to update the TextView, which may be slightly overkill, but I wanted to follow the template that seems to be common in AppWidgets that do more work (like the Forecast widget or the Wiktionary widget). Right now, I'm not getting any error messages or strange behavior; nothing at all happens when the button is pressed. I'm a bit mystified as to what might be wrong. Could anyone out there point me in the right direction? Additionally, if my logic for location is faulty, I'd love recommendations on that too. I've looked at several blogs, the Google examples, and the documentation, but I feel a little fuzzy on how it works. Here is the current state of the widget: public class Widget extends AppWidgetProvider { static final String TAG = "Widget"; /** * {@inheritDoc} */ public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { // Create an intent to launch the service Intent serviceIntent = new Intent(context, UpdateService.class); // PendingIntent is required for the onClickPendingIntent that actually // starts the service from a button click PendingIntent pendingServiceIntent = PendingIntent.getService(context, 0, serviceIntent, 0); // Get the layout for the App Widget and attach a click listener to the // button RemoteViews views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.main); views.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.address_button, pendingServiceIntent); super.onUpdate(context, appWidgetManager, appWidgetIds); } // To prevent any ANR timeouts, we perform the update in a service; // really should have its own thread too public static class UpdateService extends Service { static final String TAG = "UpdateService"; private LocationManager locationManager; private Location currentLocation; private double latitude; private double longitude; public void onStart(Intent intent, int startId) { // Get a LocationManager from the system services locationManager = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); // Register for updates from spoofed GPS locationManager.requestLocationUpdates("gps", 30000L, 0.0f, new LocationListener() { @Override public void onLocationChanged(Location location) { currentLocation = location; } @Override public void onProviderDisabled(String provider) {} @Override public void onProviderEnabled(String provider) {} @Override public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) {} }); // Get the last known location from GPS currentLocation = locationManager.getLastKnownLocation("gps"); // Build the widget update RemoteViews updateViews = buildUpdate(this); // Push update for this widget to the home screen ComponentName thisWidget = new ComponentName(this, Widget.class); // AppWidgetManager updates AppWidget state; gets information about // installed AppWidget providers and other AppWidget related state AppWidgetManager manager = AppWidgetManager.getInstance(this); // Updates the views based on the RemoteView returned from the // buildUpdate method (stored in updateViews) manager.updateAppWidget(thisWidget, updateViews); } public RemoteViews buildUpdate(Context context) { latitude = currentLocation.getLatitude(); longitude = currentLocation.getLongitude(); RemoteViews updateViews = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.main); updateViews.setTextViewText(R.id.latitude_text, "" + latitude); updateViews.setTextViewText(R.id.longitude_text, "" + longitude); return updateViews; } @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent intent) { // We don't need to bind to this service return null; } } }

  • iPhone first responders

    - by William Jockusch
    I am confused about the iPhone responder chain. Specifically, in the iPhone event handling guide http://developer.apple.com/iPhone/library/documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhoneOSProgrammingGuide/EventHandling/EventHandling.html, we have the following: The first responder is the responder object in an application (usually a UIView object) that is designated to be the first recipient of events other than touch events. But UIView is a subclass of UIResponder. And the UIResponder class reference says this: - (BOOL)canBecomeFirstResponder Return Value YES if the receiver can become the first responder, NO otherwise. Discussion Returns NO by default. If a responder object returns YES from this method, it becomes the first responder and can receive touch events and action messages. Subclasses must override this method to be able to become first responder. I am confused by the apparent contradiction. Can anyone clear it up for me? For what it's worth, I did set up a simple view-based application, and call canBecomeFirstResponder and isFirstResponder on its view. Both returned NO.

  • EOF error encountered while converting bytearray to bitmapdata

    - by intoTHEwild
    I am using var bitmapdata:BitmapData=new BitmapData(); var pixels:Bytearray=new Bytearray(); pixels = rleDecodePixles(); bitmapdata.setPixels(bitmapdata.rect, pixels); In the 4th line in the code above i am getting "Error: Error #2030: End of file was encountered." I checked the length of the pixels object which is 4 times the width*height of the rect object. Given that setPixels() functions reads unsigned int from bytearray and sets that value to pixels, I think it should work. But I have no clue why this wont work. The pixels object is filled after RLE decoding of the data which i get from a server. Is there any work around or any other method which I could try to use. The loader class wont work as the data that I get from the server is not in any of the recognized format. Any help is greatly appreciated. Shrikant Thanks.

  • .NET WebClient tag property, or keeping track of downloads ?

    - by GX
    Hello, I am trying to implement an Asynchronous file download from a web server using private void btnDownload_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { WebClient webClient = new WebClient(); webClient.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("test", "test"); webClient.DownloadFileCompleted += new AsyncCompletedEventHandler(Completed); webClient.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(ProgressChanged); webClient.DownloadFileAsync(new Uri("ftp://2.1.1.1:17865/zaz.txt"), @"c:\myfile.txt"); } private void ProgressChanged(object sender, DownloadProgressChangedEventArgs e) { progressBar1.Value = e.ProgressPercentage; } private void Completed(object sender, AsyncCompletedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Download completed!"); } Now the download works fine, what I would like to know is the following: assuming that I will have more than 1 download at a time, what is the best way to keep track of each download and report progress separately ? I was looking for a tag property of the WebClient, but could not find one. Thank you

  • Is Interop.Domino dll thread safe ?

    - by anup-24
    Hi , I am using Interop.Domino dll version 1.2 in c# application, and using multithreading to access multiple NSF file at same time by creating new session for each thread created (Max 5 threads at a time). For the large NSF files, I was getting the Notes error like memory segment overflow. To overcome this problem, i used Marshal.ReleaseComObject(object) to release the necessary Notesdocument, and NotesView object where ever possible. Now, the issues is like, i am able to access 2 NSF files but the rest threads are going in dll exceptions as few Notes object are getting null. Kindly provide me some help.... Thanks for help.

  • Compile error with Nested Classes

    - by ProfK
    I have metadata classes nested within entity classes, as I have always done, but suddenly, when I deploy to my target web site, and try and view a page, I get e.g. the following compile error: CS0102: The type 'PvmmsModel.ActivationResource' already contains a definition for 'ActivationResourceMetadata' My code for this type looks like below. There is only one definition of ActivationResourceMetadata: namespace PvmmsModel { [DisplayName("Activation Resources")] [DisplayColumn("Name")] [MetadataType(typeof(ActivationResourceMetadata))] public partial class ActivationResource { public class ActivationResourceMetadata { [ScaffoldColumn(false)] public object ResourceId { get; set; } [DisplayName("Cell Phone")] public object CellPhone { get; set; } [DisplayName("Shifts Worked or Planned")] public object ActivationShifts { get; set; } } } } This is on an ASP.NET WebSite project.

  • Brute force characters into a textbox in c#

    - by Fred Dunly
    Hey everyone, I am VERY new to programming and the only language I know is C# So I will have to stick with that... I want to make a program that "test passwords" to see how long they would take to break with a basic brute force attack. So what I did was make 2 text boxes. (textbox1 and textbox2) and wrote the program so if the text boxes had the input, a "correct password" label would appear, but i want to write the program so that textbox2 will run a brute force algorithm in it, and when it comes across the correct password, it will stop. I REALLY need help, and if you could just post my attached code with the correct additives in it that would be great. The program so far is extremely simple, but I am very new to this, so. Thanks in advance. private void textBox2_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { } private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (textBox2.Text == textBox1.Text) { label1.Text = "Password Correct"; } else { label1.Text = "Password Wrong"; } } private void label1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { } } } `

  • tolua++: Adding lua functions to a C++ class that has been exported to Lua

    - by skyeagle
    I am using tolua++ to export some C++ classes to Lua. My understanding that each class is 'implemented' on the lua side, as a lua table. I am wondering if it is possible therefore, to add new (Lua) methods to the C++ object table so that I can achieve the effect of adding new methods to the C++ class. Assume that I am exporting the class Foobar. Methods of Foobar will be accessisble in Lua as follows: Foobar:method1() Foobar:method2() ... etc. I would like to be able to add new methods (newmethod1, and newmethod2) to the Foobar table "object" I have the following questions: Is it possible to 'extend' the functionality of an exported C++ object in the manner I described above? How would one go about add new functions to the Foobar table? (I am relatively new to Lua)

  • How to invalidate a single data item in the .net cache in VB

    - by Craig
    I have the following .NET VB code to set and read objects in cache on a per user basis (i.e. a bit like session) '' Public Shared Sub CacheSet(ByVal Key As String, ByVal Value As Object) Dim userID As String = HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name HttpContext.Current.Cache(Key & "_" & userID) = Value End Sub Public Shared Function CacheGet(ByVal Key As Object) Dim returnData As Object = Nothing Dim userID As String = HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name returnData = HttpContext.Current.Cache(Key & "_" & userID) Return returnData End Function I use these functions to hold user data that I don't want to access the DB for all the time. However, when the data is updated, I want the cached item to be removed so it get created again. How do I make an Item I set disappear or set it to NOTHING or NULL? Craig
