• Unable to Push source code to Bzr/Bazaar

  I am having issues pushing my codes into my Bazaar repository. It worked earlier for my first commit but not it does not work at all. Everytime I try to push my codes, I get this exception Error while executing push [Error 5] Access is denied: 'c:\\users\\benjam~1.won\\appdata\\local\\temp\\tmpj2hcal.pag' Any idea how I resolve this? I have even deleted the repo and .git folder and tried again but I keep getting this error regardless of the branch I guess. I am using this as my machine : Windows Vista Business 32 bit 4GB RAM Eclipse + Aptana

• Unobtrusive Client Side Validation with Dynamic Contents in ASP.NET MVC 3

      Introduction:          A while ago, I blogged about how to perform client side validation for dynamic contents in ASP.NET MVC 2 at here. Using the approach given in that blog, you can easily validate your dynamic ajax contents at client side. ASP.NET MVC 3 also supports unobtrusive client side validation in addition to ASP.NET MVC 2 client side validation for backward compatibility. I feel it is worth to rewrite that blog post for ASP.NET MVC 3 unobtrusive client side validation. Another important method to note here is the jQuery.valid method which return true if the form is valid and return false if the form is not valid .       Summary:          There may be several occasions when you need to load your HTML contents dynamically. These dynamic HTML contents may also include some input elements and you need to perform some client side validation for these input elements before posting thier values to server. In this article I shows you how you can enable client side validation for dynamic input elements in ASP.NET MVC 3. I am also attaching a sample application. • problem installing VS 2010 after uninstalling the RC

  Hi I uninstalled my VS 2010 RC to install VS 2010. However, it fails to install with the following error in the log files: d:\vs_setup.msi could not be opened. I've tried running the windows clean install and deleting any VS2010 files; also renamed the Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0 folder in the registry, but I keep getting the same error. I can see the vs_setup.msi on the dvd, it just won't allow me to run it directly. I have to run setup.exe. Any ideas?

• How do I read 64-bit Registry values from VBScript running as a an msi post-installation task?

  I need to read the location of the Temporary ASP.NET Files folder from VBScript as part of a post-installation task in an installer created using a Visual Studio 2008 deployment project. I thought I would do something like this: Set oShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell") strPath = oShell.RegRead("HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ASP.NET\2.0.50727.0\Path") and then concatenate strPath with "\Temporary ASP.NET Files" and be done with it. On an x64 system, however, I am getting the value from the WOW6432Node (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ASP.NET\2.0.50727.0), which gives me the 32-bit framework path (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727), but on an x64 system, I actually want the 64-bit path, i.e. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727. I understand that this happens because the .vbs file is run using the 32-bit script host due to the parent process (the installer) being 32-bit itself. How can I run the script using the 64-bit script host - or - how can I read the 64-bit values even if the script is run using the 32-bit script host?

• Xcode Error: "Buildfile: build.xml does not exist! Build failed"

  I am trying to use Xcode 3.2 for java tool development. My project has no problem building and shows it built the file build.xml fine and also shows up in file folder fine. When I try to run the .java file, I get the error: "Buildfile: build.xml does not exist! Build failed". Running "ant -find build.xml" in Terminal produces "not found". I believe the problem is that I need to point to my own build.xml location, but I have no idea how to change which directory it looks for this file.   I have a folder/array of images, it may be 1, maximum of 12. What I need to do is dynamically add them so the images are added to an images table. At the moment I have $directory = "portfolio_images/$id/Thumbs/"; $images = glob("" . $directory . "*.jpg"); for ( $i= 0; $i <= count($images); $i += 1) { mysql_query("INSERT INTO project_images (image_name, project_id)VALUES ('$images[0]', '$id')") or die(mysql_error()); } this is fine but it does not feel right, how is this for performance? Is there a better way? The maximum number of images is only ever going to be 12. Thanks, Ross

• Visual Studio 2008 - App_webreferences and dynamic urls

  When you add a web service reference in VS 2008 Web site project, you get a new folder in App_webreferences. This contains a disco,wsdl and discomap file. Additionally, you get a key/value pair in the web.config which contains the endpoint URL. Within the disco,wsdl and discomap files, the URL is strewn about leaving many places to change the url as we move from dev/test/stage/production. Why is it that when I change the URL in the web.config and perform an update on the web reference, the old URL remains in all three of those files? Why does it not get updated? Has anyone figured out how to manage this? Any insight is appreciated.

I've uploaded all source txt files onto my own server : results folder I got the output from using several bash commands in a "chain" like this: cat run*.txt | grep '^Bank[[:space:]]Balance'| cut -d ':' -f2 | grep -E '\$[0-9]+' I know this is far from the most concise and efficient, but at least it works... As our uni subject now moves onto the Perl part, I'd like to know if there is a way to get the same results in one line?   I have a file called config.yml in my /config folder of my rails application. I also have an initializer: config/initializers/load_config.rb with the following code: APP_CONFIG = YAML.load_file("#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/config.yml") I am using the Whenever gem to set up a cron job, and would like to use my APP_CONFIG to call a function like so: #inside schedule.rb every 2.hours do runner "MyModel.someMethod('#{APP_CONFIG['some_value']}')" end but the Whenever gem doesn't seem to recognize the config file when I call whenever --update-crontab mysite How can I incorporate values from my configuration in my schedule.rb file (instead of hard-coding the value)? • Setup Padrino with DataMapper and MySQL database

  Hello I am trying to setup a Padrino project using DataMapper and MySQL on my Mac OSX Snow Leopard. I have the necessary gems: dm-core data_objects do_mysql mysql (linked to my original Mac OSX installation) But when I try to start the padrino with PADRINO START from the console, I get the following error: /Users/ivolution/.bundle/ruby/1.9.1/gems/dm-core-0.10.2/lib/dm-core/adapters/mysql_adapter.rb:3:in `require': no such file to load -- do_mysql (LoadError) But as I said I do have do_mysql gem installed so there shouldn't be such error, I did bundle install in my project folder before trying to start Padrino. Any ideas?

  When I try rake db:migrate, I get the following error: !!! The bundled mysql.rb driver has been removed from Rails 2.2. Please install the mysql gem and try again: gem install mysql. rake aborted! no such file to load -- mysql And when I try to "gem install mysql" Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing mysql: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. /usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb Can't find header files for ruby. Gem files will remain installed in /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.8.1 for inspection. I checked the rubygems folder and mysql gem has been installed. Any ideas? Cheers

• Qt: how to build QML apps for Symbian devices?

  I am pretty new to Qt and I have just started looking at QML. There are some sample applications included with the Nokia Qt SDK for Symbian and I have managed to load them into Qt Creator and run them using the QML Viewer application on the desktop. I would like to try some of the samples out on a device, but I am totally clueless as to how I would go about getting the qml files to run on a device. Are they first packaged into a sis file and installed or is the folder simply copied over? If so how is the app started on the device? Having done some googling the only information I seem to be able to find says that the Qt libraries available for Symbian devices at the moment is only 4.6.3 whereas version 4.7.0 is required for QML apps? Does this mean that I won't be able to run QML apps on a device at the moment? (Device is S60 5th Edition) Any help or pointers in the right direction for more information would be much appreciated.

• Ant trouble with environment variables on Ubuntu

  Having some trouble with with ant reading environment variables in Ubuntu 9.10. Specifically, the build tasks my company uses has a token like ${env.CATALINA_HOME] in the main build.xml. I set CATALINA_HOME to the correct value in /etc/environment, ~/.pam_environment and (just to be safe) my .bashrc. I can see the correct value when I run printenv from bash, or when I eval (getenv "CATALINA_HOME") in emacs. Ant refuses to build to the correct directory though; instead I get a folder named ${env.CATALINA_HOME} in the same directory as my build.xml. Any idea what's happening there, and/or how to fix it?

  I'm testing my site with Google PageSpeed and YSlow and the bundles that i've created with MVC4 bundles aren't getting Gzipped (Compressing resources with gzip or deflate can reduce the number of bytes sent over the network) and there is no Vary: Accept-Encoding header (Instructs proxy servers to cache two versions of the resource: one compressed, and one uncompressed. This helps avoid issues with public proxies that do not detect the presence of a Content-Encoding header properly.) And also how can i add encoding header for the whole scripts folder on the ISS. I know there is HTTP Response Headers, then Add Custom HTTP Response Header, but will this work on the whole scripts folders and subfolders and what to put in the Name and Value fields. • How do you include additional files using VS2010 web deployment packages?

  I am testing out using the new web packaging functionality in visual studio 2010 and came across a situation where I use a pre-build event to copy required .dll's into my bin folder that my app relies on for API calls. They cannot be included as a reference since they are not COM dlls that can be used with interop. When I build my deployment package those files are excluded when I choose the option to only include the files required to run the app. Is there a way to configure the deployment settings to include these files? I have had no luck finding any good documentation on this.

  I want to use Fabric to deploy my web app code to development, staging and production servers. My fabfile: def deploy_2_dev(): deploy('dev') def deploy_2_staging(): deploy('staging') def deploy_2_prod(): deploy('prod') def deploy(server): print 'env.hosts:', env.hosts env.hosts = [server] print 'env.hosts:', env.hosts Sample output: host:folder user$ fab deploy_2_dev env.hosts: [] env.hosts: ['dev'] No hosts found. Please specify (single) host string for connection: When I create a set_hosts() task as shown in the Fabric docs, env.hosts is set properly. However, this is not a viable option, neither is a decorator. Passing hosts on the command line would ultimately result in some kind of shell script that calls the fabfile, I would prefer having one single tool do the job properly. It says in the Fabric docs that 'env.hosts is simply a Python list object'. From my observations, this is simply not true. Can anyone explain what is going on here ? How can I set the host to deploy to ?

• How do I change apache2 DocumentRoot (default snow leopard install) and not get "You don't have perm

  I'm trying to point DocumentRoot at a directory in my user folder. While I can happily point DocumentRoot at /Library/WebServer/Documents and ~/Sites I keep getting "You don't have permission to access / on this server." when I point it anywhere else. OK, I just found a solution mid-question (stack overflow is just that good) by changing the user/group apache runs under to myuser/admin. I'm sure there must be a better way though. Surely some kind of permissions magic on the directory I'm pointing at?

  TFS 2008, VS 2008. I have a tfsbuild.proj and tfsbuild.msp file in $/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/Dev folder. I have a targets file at $/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/IncludeFiles/Common/test.xml. test.xml contains an XML fragment that overrides the BeforeGet task. I tried to get the file into my tfsbuild.proj file like this: <Import Project="$/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/IncludeFiles/Common/test.xml" /> The build fails because it tries to get the file from a relative path that is way off. How can I specify external/include files from an explicit TFS "remote" path? Thanks.

• Winrar sfx deletes files too early

  I'm trying to build a sfx (self extracting archive) using winrar. I'm using VS2008 to build a setup.exe and a myapp.msi. If setup.exe is executed it does some checking an launches myapp.msi I'm using some sfx options to make the extraction quiet and make it extract so some temp folder: ;Der folgende Kommentar enthält SFX-Skriptbefehle Setup=setup.exe TempMode Silent=2 Overwrite=1 It seems winrar deletes the msi right after setup.exe is launched. Setup.exe can't find the msi and crashes. Is there some way to fix this?
