    This is what I see when I visit my web site. How do I instead get the Yellow Screen of Death so I know what the error is? I have GoDaddy shared hosting and I think the problem is that I don't have the correct MVC binaries in the /bin folder. My web.config shows this: <add assembly="System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> <add assembly="System.Web.Abstractions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> <add assembly="System.Web.Routing, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> But I'm not positive I copied the right .DLL files into /bin. I've got like 8 of each file--which version is which?!

  • In eclipse, how can I create a shortcut for an existing command that has no shortcut binding in the

    In eclipse, the behavior of Ctrl+F11 is determined by preference config, and you could have either "Run last launch in history" or "Run current resource/editor" option available. But I'd like to have both of them at the same time, with an additional shortcut (e.g. Alt+F11). But eclipse doesn't provide the two commands in "key preference". Can I create a new shortcut that links to the "Run last launched" or "Run current editor"? It'd be even better if i could make a shortcut to show the launch history(the arrow beside the green little run button) Is this possible? could anyone give a quick hint on where to find resources to implement it? P.S.: Maven plugin's "Add dependency" common is another good candidate.

  • How to subString a block of user generated HTML while preserving formatting?

    I'd like to create the typical preview paragraph with a [read more] link. Problem is, the content that I'd like to SubString() contains text and html, written by a user with a WYSIWYG editor. Of course, I check to make sure the string is not null or empty, then SubString() it, problem is that I could end up breaking the html tags, throwing off the rendering of the entire site. The WYSIWYG editor doesn't seem to create perfectly formatted HTML, and many times seems to use <br /> tags instead of <p></p>, etc... basically, I can't rely on well-formed tags, etc. My workaround was to just strip out all HTML and substring the leftover text. This works, but loses any of the formatting that was in the HTML. What's the best method of SubString()'ing a block of non-well-formed HTML while maintaining HTML that won't break the rendering of the site?

  • Saving to SharedPreferences from custom DialogPreference

    I've currently got a preferences screen, and I've created a custom class that extends DialogPreference and is called from within my Preferences. My preferences data seems store/retrieve from SharedPreferences without an issue, but I'm trying to add 2 more sets of settings from the DialogPreference. Basically I have two issues that I have not been able to find. Every site I've seen gives me the same standard info to save/restore data and I'm still having problems. Firstly I'm trying to save a username and password to my SharedPreferences (visible in the last block of code) and if possibly I'd like to be able to do it in the onClick(). As I'm quite new to Java/Android/coding in general, could you please be as detailed as possible with any help, eg. which of my files I need to write the code in and whereabouts in that file should I write it (i.e. onCreate(), onClick(), etc) Edit: I will need to the preferences to be Application-wide accessible, not activity-wide.   • Accessing the DI container from anywhere

    I've implemented the Symfony2 Dependency Injection container in my Zend Framework project and it works fine in the MVC layer of my application. I've initialized the DIC in my bootstrap and can access it anywhere by calling: Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance()->getParam('bootstrap')->getDic() The problem is that there are some parts of my application that do not utilize the Zend Framework application/MVC layer. My CLI tools for example. I could perfectly initialize a new DIC there but that would just be some copy paste work from the Bootstrap file which is asking for trouble down the road (DRY principles, etc) Is it a better solution to make my DIC available in the Zend_Registry or as a singleton called by a static method DIC::getInstance() for example? I know Registry and singletons are considered bad things but the DIC is such a high level part of the application that I will probably never run into the problems that make it a bad thing. Is this a good solution or are there better ways of accomplishing a globally accessible DIC?

    Hi guys, i am in big dilema.. I am working on highly modular web app in ASP.NET MVC 2 (in fact, core will be super lightweight, all work on modules/plugins). I found MEF pretty useful for modules discovery, but i dont want to us it as IoC container. There is pretty good chance that I will need advanced features of "true" IoC container, so I would like to use Unity. And here is the problem : how to allow modules to configure container (programatically) = register their own types (mvc controllers, custom implementations of services...) at application start without making hard dependency on Unity in all modules ? I know about Common Service Locator project, and it seems pretty good, but this interface co container only allows resolving types, not registering them (afaik). I really hope you can understand my point, I know my english is terrible (I am from non english speaking country :) Thanks a lot !

    A crazy question: Imagine a webpage file called somepage.php And it contains some html php contents in my editor I see: <html><head></head><body> <?=$welcome . $essay . $thatsAllForNowFolks . $footer ?> <!-- Blue Ball Bell Blow Bows Bats Beef Bark Bill Boss --> </body></html> When I browse my site I see those comments in the final result, while I only want that comment to be only in my editor for my secretive inspirations and don't want the whole world to know what I'm thinking when I'm developing, as well as I see those comments for any and all my website visitors as wasted bandwitch of internet speed. How do I decomment my entire html/php files at the moment the html is served? Ideas, code and suggestions are much appreciated. My thanks in advance...

    I am trying to decide between a WYSIWYG editor (e.g. TinyMCE, CKEditor) and a WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean) editor (e.g. WMD) for my web application. There is a thread on stackoverflow that compares the two approaches. I would like to know how users, particularly computer novices, have reacted to WYSIWYM editors in deployed web applications. It could be that computer novices are confused by WYSIWYM editors, preferring the immediacy of WYSIWYG; but is that born out in real-world applications? It's not theory I'm asking about here, but empirical evidence of the acceptance or otherwise of WYSIWYM.

  • Updating Silverlight with data. JSON or WCF?

    We will be using custom Silverlight 4.0 controls on our ASP.NET MVC web page to display data from our database and was wondering what the most efficient method was? We will be having returned values of up to 100k records (of 2 properties per record). We have a test that uses the HTML Bridge from Javascript to Silverlight. First we perform a post request to a controller action in the MVC web app and return JSON. This JSON is then passed to the Silverlight where it is parsed and the UI updated. This seems to be rather slow, with the stored procedure (the select) taking about 3 seconds and the entire update in the browser about 10-15sec. Having a brief look on the net, it seems that WCF is another option, but not having used it, I wasn't sure of it's capability or suitability. Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations?

I have recently started having a strange problem with visual studio 2008 sp1: in the properties of my web projects I can't see the Web tab - I get the following error: Unable to create the designer. File is already opened in an incompatible editor. Or in the case of ASP.NET MVC: An error occurred trying to load the page. 909d16b3-c8e8-43d1-a2b8-26ea0d4b6b57 I can see the "web" tab if it's not selected immediately but once i click on it, the header of the tab goes blank and tha main pane just shows the error. I have unistalled both VS2008 and MVC, reistalled - same thing. Tried devenv /resetsettings also... I would really appreciate any help, I'm stuck! Nothing on google either:(

  • Hidden Input Elements in Firefox

    I'm having troubles with fckeditor in Firefox. When the user goes to a page, the html (encoded) is stored in a hidden input element. I call the predefined fckeditor javascript event to populate my editor with the html from the hidden ContentBody element. function FCKeditor_OnComplete( editorInstance ) { editorInstance.InsertHtml(""); var sample = document.getElementById("ContentBody").value; editorInstance.InsertHtml(sample); } This automatically populates the editor with the desired text in IE, but in Firefox it doesn't. Firebug gives me the error : A is null [Break on this error] var FCKW3CRange=function(A){this._Docume...eateFromRange(this._Document,this);}};\r\n Using Firebug I can determine that the event method FCKeditor_OnComplete() just isn't fired when using Firefox. Can save the document created and edited on my own/ custom server addr. (Which api can support this???   • PHP: best practice. Do i save html tags in DB or store the html entity value?

    Hi Guys, I was wondering about which way i should do the following. I am using the tiny MCE wysiwyg editor which formats the users data with the right html tags. Now, i need to save this data entered into the editor into a database table. Should i encode the html tags to their corresponding entities when inserting into the DB, then when i get the data back from the table, not have the encode it for XSS purposes but i'd still have to use eval for the html tags to format the text. OR Do i save the html tags into the database, then when i get the data back from the database encode the html tags to their entities, but then as the tags will appear to the user, i'd have to use the eval function to actually format the data as it was entered. My thoughts are with the first option, i just wondered on what you guys thought. Thanks M

  • Netbeans Java SE GUI Builder: private initComponents() problem

    When I build a GUI for my Java SE app with Netbeans GUI builder, it puts all the codes in the initComponents() method which is private. I could not change it to public. So, all the components are accessible only to the class containing the UI. I want to access those components from another class so that I can write custom event handlers and everything. Most importantly I want to separate my GUI code and non-GUI from each other. I can copy paste the GUI code and later make them public by hand to achieve what I want. But thats a pain. I have to handcraft a portion whenever I need to re-design the UI. What I tried to do: I used the variable identifier to make the text box public. Now how can I access the text box from the Main class? I think I need the component generated in a public method as well. I am new to Java. Any helps?   • How is a h264 idea bitstream organized? / header start codes

    I was trying to learn a bit about h264 by looking at the bitstream of a video file with a hex editor. I found here the start codes for a video object planes (0x000001b6) and for i-frames (0x000001b600). But I can't find many of those bytes in video files. Most of the time those start codes appear at the beginning of a file with only a few bites in between. I expected them to show up very regularly, in equal distance all over the file!? Is is even ok to look at a file with a hex editor this way? What other start codes exist and how is a h264 file organised?

  • How do I get a reference to the current project in an Eclipse plugin?

    I'm creating an editor for Eclipse. Right now the editor fires up with the user creates a new file with the appropriate extension. My question is, how can I get a reference to the project in which the file resides? For example, say I have a workspace with 2 projects, P1 and P2. I right click P2 and create a new file, can I get a reference to P2 from this somehow? Ultimately I need to reference the AST or Java Model of the project but even a String identifying the project would work.

    Hi, I am trying to call a simple method in my code behind using Jquery with Ajax. But I get a 404 not found exception everytime. Unfortunately this is a web forms solution. So I dont have all the perks of MVC :( It does get into the javascript method and gives the alert but won't go into my c# method. One of them is persistence of the View’s state. For instance, if the Model, being a domain object, does not know anything about the UI, and the View does not implement any business logic, then where would we store the state of the View’s elements such as selected items? Fowler comes up with a solution in the form of a Presentation Model pattern. I wonder why Presenter can't hold View state? It already holds all View logic. As far as I understand, in MVC and MVP the state is kept in View. In PM and MVVM the state is kept in the Presentation Model. Why can't Presenter follow PM in this particular case and contain the state of the view?     About fonts and colors in the VS2010 C# text editor with Resharper installed. In the following method: public void Method() { var lis = new System.Collections.ArrayList(); var exc = new System.NotImplementedException(); } ArrayList gets another color as NotImplementedException in the VS2010 text editor, because I edited the color scheme. What would be the difference in these kinds of types so that the color scheme handles them differently? Note that I have Resharper installed but I also tried almost all Resharper entries. I would like to have the ame color for both, but the color of the NotImplementedException type seems immutable.

  • Get the entire string of a jquery DOM object

    Hi, I have had a bit of a look around and am having some difficulty solving a wee issue I am having. I basically have a string of HTML, I convert that to a JQuery DOM object so that I can easily remove all elements that have a certain class using JQuery's .remove(). I.e., var radHtml = editor.get_html(); var jqDom = $(radHtml); $(".thickbox", jqDom).remove(); editor.set_html(jqDom.html()); The only problem is that .html() only gets the first element, not the entire DOM. In reference to my code I am basically wanting radHhtml - elements with class "thickbox" (returned as string). I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this - have some html and remove all elements (in this case divs) that have a certain class (but leaving their contents). JQuery doesnt have to used, but I would like to. Any help would be much appreicated. Thanks.

    Given an ASP.NET MVC Controller class declaration: public class ItemController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { // ... } public ActionResult Details() { // ... } [Authorize(Roles="Admin, Editor")] public ActionResult Edit() { // ... } [Authorized(Roles="Admin")] public ActionResult Delete() { // .. } } I need to reflect a list of methods in this class which may be invoked with the current user's permissions. The [Authorized] attribute is specific to ASP.NET MVC, and this is only an example. I would prefer a universal solution for this problem which works for any .NET class. Please share some ideas of what could be done in this case.
