• JQuery live event binding prevents additional callbacks

  Hey! I was building an AJAX listing of elements in my site, with the ability to delete them (also via AJAX). The problem is that, for elements that were not there when the page was loaded (i.e. that were added dynamically), the post callback does not get executed and it doesn't fade out after being deleted (the AJAX call is being made, it just doesn't execute the callback).   Hi, I am trying to post some data with jQuery Ajax, but the parameters in my Ajax method are null.   I've got a list of frequently used hex colors that I'd like to list under my jPicker bound input text field and I'd like to figure out how to change the value of the jPicker active color without opening the jPicker color selector palette. I've managed to create a function that updates the input field thats bound to the jPicker, but the colors of the background and picker.gif do not update. I'd like to force the background colors to update as if the color was selected from jPicker itself. • twitter's officially supported android application

  i am developing an application for android and would like for my users to be able to post some information from my application to their twitter feed. i know how to make this work by building a VIEW intent and forwarding the user to the android built-in web browser (thanks to stack overflow!) However, now that there is an official Twitter application, I would like to be able to use the twitter applications activity (if it is installed) to make the post. However, I can not find any developer documentation on what the Twitter Intent for Android is called. Can someone provide a short snippet of sample code that includes that text of the Intent to use?

  When using PostSharp with a Referenced Assembly with proper PDB info( checked with chkmatch), it seems strange that the debug info gets lost by VStudio build and post compile process and I get the following error by using chkmatch to compare the assembly after the vstudio build. Error: Debug information not found in the executable. So it doesn't step into for debugging into this assembly. Does Post Sharp properly writes back the Assemblies without destroying the PDB location offset info as I saw no valid offset info in the written back into DLL by PostSharp using Hex Editor and What's the workaround for this ?   I am building a secure app for our exec's... here is my setup. It's a somewhat Macgyver approach, but bear with me :) There are only 10 users, I have a record of each uniqueIdentifier on my backend in a database table. (This is internal only for our users, so I don't believe I am breaking the public user registration rule mentioned in the API docs) Through adhoc distribution I install my app on all 10 devices My app is simply composed of a UIWebView. When the app starts it does a POST to our https site sending the uniqueIdentifier. (Thanks to this answer) The server page that recieves the POST, checks the uniqueIdentifier and if found sets a session cookie that automatically logs them into the site. This way the user doesn't have to enter in their credentials every time. So what do you think, is there a security hole with this? Thanks

  Hi, I have a search form on a page that posts back to itself and shows the results, all works fine. I now have a requirement to put the same search form on the site home page. This needs to post back to the search form and run the findResults code. Using the PostBackURL parameter on the home page form's submit button I can hit the search page ok. However, when using the following code in the Page_Load section of the search page I hit the problem of not being able to access data from the posting page as I get the following error message on the line starting "yearList.SelectedValue....": "'Site._default1.Protected WithEvents yearList As System.Web.UI.WebControls.DropDownList' is not accessible in this context because it is 'Protected'".   After reading this: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/csrf/#how-to-use-it I came to the conclusion that it is not valid to use this except for when you trust the person who is using the page which enlists it. Is this correct? I guess I don't really understand when it's safe to use this because of this statement: This should not be done for POST forms that target external URLs, since that would cause the CSRF token to be leaked, leading to a vulnerability. The reason it's confusing is that to me an "external URL" would be on that isn't part of my domain (ie, I own www.example.com and put a form that posts to www.spamfoo.com. This obviously can't be the case since people wouldn't use Django for generating forms that post to other people's websites, but how could it be true that you can't use CSRF protection on public forms (like a login form)?

• Asp.net Response.Redirect Error

  My team and I are working on a portal applicaiton. When a user requests a page, we get a page object (contianing permissions, actual file to use and what not). We then do a Response.Redirect to "~/Default.aspx". The crazy thing is that when the code to validate access and what not is called from a button click event from within an ajax update panel, response.redirect is pasting a "&f2" or a "/" into the url. So rather than http://localhost/Default.aspx, the webbrowser is being redirected to http://localhost/%f2Default.aspx, and is subsequently returning a 404 error. HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("~/Default.aspx", false); Anyone have an idea of why this would occur? And it only happens when the click event fires inside an update panel.

• How significant is the bazaar performance factor?

  I hear all this stuff about bazaar being slower than git. I haven't used too much distributed version control yet, but in Bazaar vs. Git on the bazaar site, they say that most complaints about performance aren't true anymore. Have you found this to be true? Is performance pretty much on par now? I've heard that speed can affect workflow (people are more likely to do good thing X if X is fast). What specific cases does performance currently affect workflow in bazaar vs other systems (especially git), and how? I'm just trying to get at why performance is of particular importance. Usually when I check something in or update it, I expect it to take a little while, but it doesn't matter. I commit/update when I have a second, so it doesn't interfere with my productivity. But then I haven't used DVCS yet, so maybe that has something to do with it?

• VBA - Access 03 - Iterating through a list box, with an if statement to evaluate

  So I have a one list box with values like DeptA, DeptB, DeptC & DeptD. I have a method that causes these to automatically populate in this list box if they are applicable. So in other words, if they populate in this list box, I want the resulting logic to say they are "Yes" in a boolean field in the table. So to accomplish this I am trying to use this example of iteration to cycle through the list box first of all, and it works great: dim i as integer dim myval as string For i = o to me.lstResults.listcount - 1 myVal = lstResults.itemdata(i) Next i if i debug.print myval, i get the list of data items that i want from the list box. so now i am trying to evaluate that list so that I can have an UPDATE SQL statement to update the table as i need it to be done. so, i know this is a mistake, but this is what i tried to do (giving it as an example so that you can see what i am trying to get to here) dim sql as string dim i as integer dim myval as string dim db as database sql = "UPDATE tblMain SET " for i = 0 to me.lstResults.listcount - 1 myval = lstResults.itemdata(i) If MyVal = "DeptA" Then sql = sql & "DeptA = Yes" ElseIF myval = "DeptB" Then sql = sql & "DeptB = Yes" ElseIf MyVal = "DeptC" Then sql = sql & "DeptC = Yes" ElseIf MyVal = "DeptD" Then sql = sql & "DeptD = Yes" End If Next i debug.print (sql) sql = sql & ";" set db= currentdb db.execute(sql) msgbox "Good Luck!" So you can see why this is going to cause problems because the listbox that these values (DeptA, DeptB, etc) automatically populate in are dynamic....there is rarely one value in the listbox, and the list of values changes per OrderID (what the form I am using this on populates information for in the first place; unique instance). I am looking for something that will evaluate this list one at a time (i.e. iterate through the list of values, and look for "DeptA", and if it is found add yes to the SQL string, and if it not add no to the SQL string, then march on to the next iteration). Even though the listbox populates values dynamically, they are set values, meaning i know what could end up in it. Thanks for any help, Justin

  Hey everyone! I'm using a Paypal add to cart button for a simple ecommerce website. I had a Paypal IPN handler written in PHP that was successfully working for 'Buy it Now' buttons and purchasing one item at a time. I would run a database query each time to update the store's inventory to reflect the purchase. Now I'm upgrading this store to a 'cart' version so people could check out with multiple items at a time. Would anyone be able to tell me, in general, how my IPN handler would need to be altered to accommodate this? I'm unsure of what a response from Paypal looks like for a cart purchase as opposed to a buy it now purchase. Thanks, any help or examples of working IPN cart scripts would be very appreciated!   I built an ajax chat in one of my mvc website. everything is working fine. I am using polling. At certain interval i am using $.post to get the messages from the db. But there is a problem. I think the message keeps on repeating because of asynchronous calls. I don't know, may be you guys can help me solve this. or you can suggest better way to implement this.

  I use DataTemplateSelector for ListView column headers template selection. ListView itself is in DataTemplate and ends up in a few tabs. So, in practice, I have same DataTemplate (so ListView too) shared between more TabItems. This means that if I select tab {A} and set XDataTemplate on ListView column {AColumn}, if I switch the tab, lets say to tab {B}, on {B}'s ListView (that is always the same one) column {AColumn} we will see the same XDataTemplate, because we share same UI data. So I created data layer where I hold relational information about {Tab} <- {ListView:Column} <- {HeaderContent}, which actually reads DatatemplateSelector in order correctly update UI on user screen. What I need is to notify to DataTemplateSelector to update current view in the moment that I need. How can I achieve that goal? Thank you.

But the code has gotten a little out of hand and now I'm working on a genetic algorithm to create the ultimate battle of living and dead with the fitness being how long the battle lasts. So, I've got the basics of it down; how to adjust attributes of the game and how to acquire the fitness of a solution, what I can't figure out is how to store the fitness so that I know when I've tried a combination before. I've not been able to find much genetic code to look at let alone code that I can read well enough to tell what's going on. Does anyone have an idea how this is normally done or just simply an algorithm that could help point me in the right direction?

  Hi, I'd love to know if there is such thing as a Gecko.NET ;) I mean, just like we can embed a WebView and that is an "instance" of IE7 inside any Windows Forms application (and tell it to "navigateto (fancy_url);", I'd love to use FireFox or WebKit. Anybody tried this? UPDATE: Please bear in mind that although it is possible to embed gecko using the mentioned controls, it is still impossible to print while using gecko. UPDATE March 2010: It’s still not possible to print natively using GeckoFX, however a couple of methods exist that may be enough, depending upon what you’re trying to do.   I'm using the Uploadify jQuery control for client-side uploads. I think my IIS 7 configuration has issues with it. The uploadify POST immediately returns a HTTP 1.1 302 Found, back to my login page. I've tried to allow anonymous access to the uploading section(subfolder) plus the page(script) that processes the image in the web.config, using the location node(configuration ... location). Seems like the Uploadify post is immediately blocked. Again, this worked fine just using Visual Studio 2008, but when I run the site on the same machine I get the redirect. Your thoughts/ideas are very welcomed!
