    When i call object.Dispose(); Will CLR immediately destroy the object from memory or mark the object for removal in it's next cycle?. We are calling GC.SuppressFinalize() immediately after Dispose(),Does it mean ,"Don't collect the object again for dispose,because it is already submitted to displose". Actually which generation is responsible for destruction ,i guess generation 2.

    I'm currently working on a WCF service that reaches out to another service to submit information in a few of its operations. The proxy for the second service is generated through the strongly typed ProxyFactory<T> class. I haven't experienced any issues but have heard I should do something like the following when making the call: using (new OperationContextScope((IContextChannel)_service)) _service.Send(message); So my question is: when is creating this new OperationContextScope appropriate, and why?     Hello, I'm using .net 3.5 named pipes and my server side is : serverPipeStream = new NamedPipeServerStream("myPipe", PipeDirection.InOut, 1, PipeTransmissionMode.Byte, PipeOptions.Asynchronous); When I write some data with, say, BinaryWriter, the write() call itself doesn't return until the client side has called a read() on its NamedPipeClientStream. How can I make my write() to the named pipe non-blocking ? Thanks in advance for any help.

    I had inherited this SQL Server where we put data in a table (Call TableA) on a database (DB-A). I can see the tableA in another database on the same server ( DB-B) gets the same data right away.   • Java: If I overwrite the .equals method, can I still test for reference equality with ==?

    I have the following situation: I need to sort trees based by height, so I made the Tree's comparable using the height attribute. However, I was also told to overwrite the equals and hashCode methods to avoid unpredictable behaviour. Still, sometimes I may want to compare the references of the roots or something along those lines using ==. Is that still possible or does the == comparison call the equals method?

    I have a class defined called extBlock. I then make an instance of that class with this extBlock mainBlock = new extBlock(1, 1024); I get this error: error C2440: 'initializing' : cannot convert from 'extBlock *' to 'extBlock' Can anyone help me with why I am getting this error. I have seen examples online of declaring it like this with a pointer extBlock *mainBlock = new extBlock(1, 1024); But if I do it this way it does not let me call the functions of mainBlock

    I've been reading the Python 3.2 docs about string formatting but it hasn't really helped me with this particular problem. Here is what I'm trying to do: stats = { 'copied': 5, 'skipped': 14 } print( 'Copied: {copied}, Skipped: {skipped}'.format( stats ) ) The above code will not work because the format() call is not reading the dictionary values and using those in place of my format placeholders. How can I modify my code to work with my dictionary?

    g++ allows this construction of an istream_iterator from an ifstream instance: std::ifstream ifstr("test.txt"); std::istream_iterator<std::string> iter1(ifstr); ...but it doesn't allow the same construction with an unnamed temporary: std::istream_iterator<std::string> iter2(std::ifstream("test.txt")); This gives: error: no matching function for call to ‘std::istream_iterator, ptrdiff_t::istream_iterator(std::ifstream)’ Does anyone know why this doesn't work? - thanks!

    Hello. I'm building a mechanism to take XML data from a queue and call stored procs to save the data from the XML document directly to the database. This seems like something that NHibernate could address, but of course most of the information I find discusses going from objects to database instead of another data format (XML, in this case). Is there a way to use NHibernate in this fashion or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks.
