How can i create a vanity url in codeigniter. Im having real trouble doing this in the framework. And there doesnt seem to be any good answers out there.
i have created a simple c# winform program that uses MS sql, and several DLLs. what steps should i do in order to get the program run on another computer.
ie should i transfer the exe file + the dlls i used?
should i also install .net framework 3.5 on the other pc?
i used visual studio 2008 to compile.
I am creating a UserControl in Silverlight 4 which has a watermarked background.
The watermark should change depending on the underlying 'type' the UserControl is representing.
The watermark is created using a Path and I have extracted all the properties into a style.
I was wondering if it would be possible to change the style of the Path at runtime based on some known value.
I am using MVVM and Unity. Perhaps I could bind the style somehow? Or could I inject the style when the view is created?
I may have to do this with control templates, hence the reference in the title.
Thanks...
I'm looking or a way to programmatically determine which version of the .NET Framework an application pool is using in IIS, at runtime, and for a website application to then use that information to choose which *.config file it should use. Is it possible? I'm not sure where to begin.
Quite a broad question, and I'm open to any method of solving the problem, so fire away!
Thanks in advance, you lovely Stack Overflowers!
Hi all,

If I take locale as 'ms_MY',the time shows in AM and PM.
How to solve the time format.

Hi,
I use C# 3.5 DotNet Framework and Linq.
I have 2 Views which have the same result-schema, but in linq that are different objects of course.
How can I convert List a to List b?
Using the pysnmp framework i get some values doing a snmp walk. Unfortunately for the oid
1.3.6.1.21.69.1.5.8.1.2 (DOCS-CABLE-DEVICE-MIB)
i get a weird result which i cant correctly print here since it contains ascii chars like BEL ACK
When doing a repr i get:
OctetString('\x07\xd8\t\x17\x03\x184\x00')
But the output should look like:
2008-9-23,3:24:52.0
the format is called "DateAndTime". How can i translate the OctetString output to a "human readable" date/time ?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=en
there we can see:
Full Package
To download the full package, rather than the bootstrapper, click on the link below:
.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (Full Package)
but this "Full" package still requires 50mb to download over the internet.
Is it possible to get the really-Full package to install on the desktop that haven't internet at all?
Hi all,
I'm trying to setup a simple logging framework in my shell scripts. For this I'd like to define a "log" function callable as
log "LEVEL" $message
Where the message is a variable to which I have previously redirected the outputs of executed commands. My trouble is that I get errors with the following
{message=command 2&3 1&3 3&-} &3
log "INFO" $message
There's something wrong isn't there?
TIA
I was studying the legacy API's in the Java's Collection Framework and I learnt that classes such as Vector and HashTable have been superseded by ArrayList and HashMap.
However still they are NOT deprecated, and deemed as legacy when essentially, deprecation is applied to software features that are superseded and should be avoided, so, I am not sure when is a API deemed legacy and when it is deprecated.
I'm trying to load an assembly that was installed as part of .Net 3.5 SP1 using Assembly.Load() by referencing its strong name. This works fine on my computer right now, but is it future proof?
Will the strong name of core .Net assemblies change when patches are installed or new versions of the .Net framework are released?
If so, how can I load an assembly from the GAC without using it's strong name?
More or less I want to execute two functions in parallel.
One way as I see is doing through SetTimeOut function.
I have not completely gone through the ReactiveExentension, although it looks promising but may be overkill for my needs.
Is there any framework which supports parallelism ?
My use case is trivial, but I would like to know if anybody heavily needed parallelism in Java Script ?
Thanks, Biswanath.
Using Git or Mercurial, how would you know when you do a clone or a pull, no one is checking in files (pushing it)? It can be important that:
1) You never know it is in an inconsistent state, so you try for 2 hours trying to debug the code for what's wrong.
2) With all the framework code -- potentially hundreds of files -- if some files are inconsistent with the other, can't the rake db:migrate or script/generate controller cause some damage or inconsistencies to the code base?
If I have no to little experience in either of them, but know enough Java and Ruby to be comfortable, is one framework harder to learn than the other? Is one easier to use for the beginner on these?
I know it is hard to answer. Just looking for general thoughts on it.
Spring's @Autowire can be configured such that Spring will throw an error if no matching autowire candidates are found: @Autowire(required=false)
Is there an equivalent JSR-330 annotation? @Inject always fails if there is no matching candidate. Is there any way I can use @Inject but not have the framework fail if no matching types are found? I haven't been able to find any documentation to that extent.
I have read about the Tuples provided with the coming-out of the new .NET Framework features, and still am I wondering about how it could be useful in real-world enterprise applications.
Can one give me a brief explanation along with a simple but real-world code sample?
Thanks! =)
I'm designing a web application.
I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user.
Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database.
Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.
Each version of Visual Studio comes with a specific version of the MFC framework, but I believe MFC SDK can be downloaded separately. Since MFC is just C++, is there any reason you couldn't use the latest version with an older version of VC++... I don't mean trying to get the ribbon working in MSVC++ 6, But we're on VS2005 and some of the newer MFC features would be useful.
Is there any framework, whick allows to mock concrete classes, not only interfaces in java 1.4? I have third party code with a singleton class, where I wanna change one function, without touching orignal code. Is it possible?
In order to fully understand and take advantage of the new features and enhancements provided with the coming of the new .NET Framework 4.0, I would like to get an example of real-world application of the Code Contracts.
Anyone has a good example of application of this feature?
I would like to get a code sample with a brief explanation to help me get up and running with it.
Thanks! =)
I need to find a certain key in a pdf file. As far as I know the only way to do that is to interpret a pdf as txt file. I want to do this in PHP without installing a addon/framework/etc.
Thanks
