  • Returning Json object from controller action to jQuery

    I'm attempting to get this working properly (2 days now). I'm working on a log in where I'm calling the controller action from jQuery, passing it a JSON object (utilizing json2.js) and returning a Json object from the controller. I'm able to call the action fine, but instead of being able to put the response where I want it it just opens a new window with this printed on the screen: {"Message":"Invalid username/password combination"} And the URL looks like http://localhost:13719/Account/LogOn so instead of calling the action and not reloading the page it's taking the user to the controller, which isn't good.     Hi, I am new to MVC, and trying something and got stuck somewhere in between. I have a user control there I have three textbox html type(ID, Lastname, firstname) and a submit buttom. I set the button like <input type="button" value="Search" onclick="location.href='<%= Url.Action("action", "controller") %>'" /> I have called this usercontrol on some view through <%= Html.Partial("ucName") %> Now on pressing that button(on user control) I need to pass the data from these textboxes to controller again to some specific action(Http Post action). By using this data I want to do some database interaction and storing the result in a dataset and pass this data set to same view again to show up in some Grid. I know the first part in conventional Asp.net can be done by raising the event through delegate but don't know how to do that in MVC.

  • CakePHP Auth how to allow specific controller and actions

    I have a "Posts" and a "Users" controller. I use the Auth Component and I want that all users can visit "Post.index" but only logged in users can visit "User.index". In my app_controller.php I have this $this->Auth->allow('signup', 'confirm', 'index'); but with that all users can visit post.index and user.index. How can I specify a Controller in the allow-method? This didn't work for me: $this->Auth->allow('signup', 'confirm', 'Post.index');

  • JSF 2 Content Controller (pull in content based on URI)

    Hey All, I'm new to JSF and am trying to make a content controller. Basically whenever someone makes a request to www.myapp.com/external/** I'd like to forward to a controller that pulls external content into a page template and spits it out to the user. I was able to achive this pretty easily in Spring 3, but I'm a little confused on where to start with JSF. I feel like I'd need to create a custom servlet to handle /external/**? But what would the class of this servlet be? What would it consist of? Any help is appreciated!

Can anyone tell me the exact steps with explanation? I have created a project in Zend. There is only one controller(IndexController) and two actions(a and b) in my project now. Now I want to use ajax in my project. But I don't know how to start. I read some tutorial but unable to completely understand.     Case: you're developing a site with Zend Framework and need relative links to the folder the webapp is deployed in. I.e. mysite.com/folder online and localhost:8080 under development. The following works nice in controllers regardless of deployed location: $this->_helper->redirector->gotoSimple($action, $controller, $module, $params); And the following inside a viewscript, ie. index.phtml: <a href="<?php echo $this->url(array('controller'=>'index', 'action' => 'index'), null, true); ?>"> But how do I get the correct basepath when linking to images or stylesheets? (in a layout.phtml file, for example): <img src='<?php echo WHAT_TO_TYPE_HERE; ?>images/logo.png' /> and $this->headLink()->appendStylesheet( WHAT_TO_TYPE_HERE . 'css/default.css'); WHAT_TO_TYPE_HERE should be replaced with something that gives <img src="/folder/images/logo.png />` on mysite.com and `<img src="/images/logo.png /> on localhost

    I am using Zend Framework's library to manage EC2 instances and AMI. However I can't list the AMI's I own and can't list existing EC2 instances. $ec2Instance = new Zend_Service_Amazon_Ec2_Instance($awsAccessKey, $awsSecretKey); $instances = $ec2Instance ->describe(); $ec2Instance -describe() should list all instances but it is returning no instances even though I have three of them running at this time. $ami = new Zend_Service_Amazon_Ec2_Image($awsAccessKey, $awsSecretKey); $images = $ami->describe(); $ami-describe() returns all the public images but none of them are the ones I created even though I have two AMIs. Does any one know what I am missing here?

I have a Browser class that has functions to check if the user's browser is compatible with application or not. My dilemma is, index.php is executed for every controller call. So there are chances that this file gets executed multiple times within the same page and hence redirection becomes an issue. What's the best way to solve the looping issue? Thanks

  • ajax in zend frame work

    Hi, I am new to Zend Frame Work. I am using $ajaxContext = $this-_helper-getHelper('AjaxContext'); for adding action contexts. I have one Index.phtml page and all other views are ajax.phtml pages. I have to do some java script methods in the ajax.phtml pages. But i didn't find a way to refer the js files in the ajax.phtml pages. I have tried adding those in the controller init and index action, using $this-view-headScript()-appendFile, though i have the reference added in the page source, none of htese seems to be working on the ajax content. Then i tried to add it in the action for the ajax page, then it is not coming in the page source itself. As far as i understood, $this-view-headScript()-appendFile will append the file reference to the layout page and for the ajax.phtml pages, the layout will be disabled. Is there any way that i can refer my js files in the ajax.phtml pages?

    I'm using the following style of array initialization in the code: $a = array( 'one' => 123, 'two' => 456 ); But PDT/Zend Studio doesn't work properly in this case; after pressing [Return] key it places cursor under the $a (in my example) and ignores indentation. If array keys are numbers (at least not start with quotation marks) everything is working fine. This is how it works currently (| — is a position where edtitor places caret after pressing [Return]) $a = array( 'one' => 123,[RETURN] | ); This is expected result: $a = array( 'one' => 123,[RETURN] | ); So is it possible to force editor follow my indentation rules?

  • A PHP design pattern for the model part [PHP Zend Framework]

    I have a PHP MVC application using Zend Framework. As presented in the quickstart, I use 3 layers for the model part : Model (business logic) Data mapper Table data gateway (or data access object, i.e. one class per SQL table) The model is UML designed and totally independent of the DB. My problem is : I can't have multiple instances of the same "instance/record". For example : if I get, for example, the user "Chuck Norris" with id=5, this will create a new model instance wich members will be filled by the data mapper (the data mapper query the table data gateway that query the DB). Then, if I change the name to "Duck Norras", don't save it in DB right away, and re-load the same user in another variable, I have "synchronisation" problems... (different instances for the same "record") Right now, I use the Multiton pattern : like Singleton, but multiple instances indexed by a key (wich is the user ID in our example). But this is complicating my developpement a lot, and my testings too. How to do it right ?
