• Filter Calendar view SharePoint WWS 3.0

  Hi all, I have a SP site with a calendarview and would like to filter this on the basis of the current user. Don't be afraid I already figured out how do to this with a list customizing some excisting jScripts and working with Content Editor WebPart. Yet this jScript does not work in a Calendar. To paint a picture I have columns like: Judge1 Lawyer Clerk (example). Underneath these columns there are names ofcourse. However these are not shown in Calendar view, so it is hard to filter on something that is not displayed only the casenumbers. Now I've been thinking (not always wise) perhaps I can adjust the aspx page of calendar/list by adjusting a filter I applied in SharePoint. This would also solve the issue of displaying all the content before it filters with Java, since it should not be possible for users to see the entire listcontent (security). I went to Modify list view and created a filter where judge1 = Mr. J. Jenkins. Then I went to SharePoint Designer and opend the Calendar aspx page. To my expectation I found Mr. J. Jenkins with the following code: Since I can't display image because i'm new, not very handy discrimination I have to give you a url. Code can't be pasted either is completely messes it up even with codemode on. Hyperlink CODE IMAGE Keep in mind I just posted a very tiny part of the code (only the part I want to change). Now I have no idea what kind of code this is above this text (SP wss 3.0 uses for aspx pages), but I would like to change Mr. J. Jenkins into a jScript var/val. Since I already managed to get the current user that is logged in content. var user = jP.getUserProfile(); var userinfspvalue = user.Department; There is more code around that one 2 ofcourse, yet to give you a picture. The var userinfspvalue is what I would like to replace the text Mr. J. Jenkins into. This would mean the calendar would be dynamically filtered based upon the current user that is logged on. Have no idea what is possible, perhaps there is a better solution who knows... Do you know? Thank you so much ahead!

Could someone please give me a hint as to what I'm doing wrong, & how I should be testing this?

• WPF ComboBox Object Binding - not updating DataContext Object

  Hello, I have the following scenario: 1 class called 'Widget' with the properties: ID, Code, Description 1 class called 'MyWidget' with a property: m_Widget As Widget 1 ComboBox The ComboBox has a List(Of Widget) set as the ItemSource. I create an instance of 'MyWidget' named MyWidget1 and I set the property values of the m_Widget to match one of the items in the 'ComboBox List(Of Widget)'. I then set the DataContext of the ComboBox to MyWidget1.Widget. When I change the ComboBox selected item, only the ID property of 'MyWidget1.Widget' gets updated... How do I get the object 'Widget' on 'MyWidget1' to be updated instead of just 'MyWidget1.Widget.ID'? Is it possible to create a generic class, which can instantiate as a class which holds string, or a IList or an IList?

  Hello, I have a probleme with jquery.ui.autocomplete 1.8 rc2 in IE7 or IE8 with the following CSS (inside jquery.ui.autocomplete.css) : .ui-menu { list-style:none; padding: 2px; margin: 0;display:block; height:200px; overflow:scroll; } I'm using the demo from the project called : demos\autocomplete\remote-jsonp.html It's working perfect with firefox but with IE7 or 8, each time I click on the scroll bar to see the end of the list, it selects an element instead of scrolling down. Do you please have a solution to have a fixed height with jquery.ui.autocomplete and a scroll bar working with IE ? Thank you very much

• ArrayCollection error in Flex does not accept single XML nodes - alternatives?

  hello, i get this error when i retrieve an XML that only has 1 node (no repeating nodes) and i try to store in an ArrayCollection. -When I have MORE than 1 "name" nodes...i do NOT get an error. TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "XXXXXX" to mx.collections.ArrayCollection. this error occurs as the line of code: myList= e.result.list.name; Why can't ArrayCollection work with a single node? I'm using this ArrayCollection as a dataprovider for a Component -is there an alternative I can use that will take BOTH single and repeating nodes as well as work as a dataprovider? • Professional jQuery based Combobox control?

  Are there any professional Combobox controls (dropdown list with autosuggestion) based on the jQuery library? It should be able to handle large datasets and have some skinning options. A multi-column result list would be great too. I'm working with ASP.NET, but it's a not a problem if I had to write a wrapper for it. I'm already using a third-party control, but I ran into some compatibilty issues between two vendor's controls. Well, I want to get rid of this kind of dependencies.

  Hi everyone, In Linux. There is an srand() function, where you supply a seed and it will guarantee the same sequence of pseudorandom numbers in subsequent calls to the random() function afterwards. Lets say, I want to store this pseudo random sequence by remembering this seed value. Furthermore, let's say I want the 100 thousandth number in this pseudo random sequence later. One way, would be to supply the seed number using srand(), and then calling random() 100 thousand times, and remembering this number. Is there a better way of skipping all 99,999 other numbers in the pseudo random list and directly getting the 100 thousandth number in the list. thanks, m

• Running Command via Java ProccesBuilder Different to Running the same in the Shell

  I'm tearing my hair out trying to work out why the command I'm executing via Java using a ProcessBuilder & Process is not working. I run the "same" command at the Windows command line and it works as expected. It must be that they're not the same but I can't for the life of me work out why. The command is this: ccm start -nogui -m -q -n ccm_admin -r developer -d /path/to/db/databasename -s http://hostname:8400 -pw Passw0rd789$ The output is should be a single line string that I need to grab and set as an environment variable (hence the v. basic use of the BufferedReader). • How to Maintain per-Client State in a WCF Service?

  I've created a WCF service in which I would like it to maintain state between calls from the client. I figured the easiest way to do this was to add this attribute to the service: [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerSession)] since this is supposed to keep a separate service alive for each client over the life of the client proxy (or timeout in the extreme case). I also added a test function that tracks a list of user inputs, and spits out a concatenated string with all the inputs over the life of the service. When I run this in the test client generated by visual studio, I find that the list I was using to hold past data is reset with each call. Is there something else I need to do to maintain state per session?

  I'm using this library: jsinq. I want to create a new object using subqueries. For example, in .NET LINQ, I could do something like this: from a in Attendances where a.SomeProperty = SomeValue select new { .Property1 = a.Property1, .Property2 = a.Property2, .Property3 = (from p in People where p.SomeProperty = a.Property3 select p) } such that I get a list of ALL people where Property3 value matches the attendance's Property3 value in EACH object returned in the list. I didn't see any sample of this in the docs or on the playground. Made a couple tries of it and didn't have any luck. Anybody know if this is possible and how to?

UPDATE Well, I am doing it at a very basic level,perhaps the java example was a wrong one to give. This is what I am trying to implement using C++: I have this hash array and each element of the array point to the head of a linked list. Which has it's individual nodes (data and next pointer). And now, I need to copy the complete hash array and the linked list each node is pointing to.

  I am having trouble understanding the following article: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jtp01255.html Under, Generics are not covariant the author states, Because ln is a List, adding a Float to it seems perfectly legal. But if ln were aliased with li, then it would break the type-safety promise implicit in the definition of li -- that it is a list of integers, which is why generic types cannot be covariant. I can't understand the part where it says "if ln were aliased with li". What does the author means by alias?(reference?). The code snippet above the quoted line seems to illustrate WHAT is illegal in java and not WHY. It would be very helpful to me if somebody could explain with an example. Thanks in advance.

  I'm using Python and its MySQLdb module to import some measurement data into a Mysql database. The amount of data that we have is quite high (currently about ~250 MB of csv files and plenty of more to come). Currently I use cursor.execute(...) to import some metadata. This isn't problematic as there are only a few entries for these. The problem is that when I try to use cursor.executemany() to import larger quantities of the actual measurement data, MySQLdb raises a TypeError: not all arguments converted during string formatting My current code is def __insert_values(self, values): cursor = self.connection.cursor() cursor.executemany(""" insert into values (ensg, value, sampleid) values (%s, %s, %s)""", values) cursor.close() where values is a list of tuples containing three strings each. Any ideas what could be wrong with this? Edit: The values are generated by yield (prefix + row['id'], row['value'], sample_id) and then read into a list one thousand at a time where row is and iterator coming from csv.DictReader.

• Should strongly typed partial views on one page in asp.net mvc-2 have one combined view model?

  Hi guys, I have a question about asp.net mvc-2 strongly typed partial views, and view models. I was just wondering if I can (or should) have two strongly typed partial views on one page, without implementing a whole new view model for that page. For example, I have a page that displays profiles, but also has an inline form to add a quick contact. Each of these entities already has it's own view model, i.e I have a ProfileViewModel and a ContactViewModel. So my view needs two strongly typed partial views, one using an IEnumerable List of ProfileViewModels, and one using a ContactViewModel. Is it possible or desirable to avoid making a third view model, an 'IndexViewModel' for this page, which holds a list of ProfileViewModels and a ContactViewModel? Is not implementing this view model bad practice, or tidier as it results in less view models? Thanks!

• C# Class Library wont register for COM

  Hello All, I am trying to gain access to a .NET class library in Microsoft Excel. To do this I know that the .NET class library must be registered with COM. So I tried going to my Assembly Info and Setting COM Visible to true. Then on the build tab I set Register for COM Interop for true also. I checked the AssemblyInfo.cs file and it does contain [assembly: ComVisible(true)]. But for some reason when I try to add a reference to the Class Lib in Excel the namespace does not show up in the list. I made a quick test Class library with nothing in it and did the same thing (set COM Vis = true , and Register For COM Interop = true) and that one does show up on the list of available references. I can't figure out what the difference is between the two classes. I am not sure if my class is actually being registered for COM interop or not. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this???

• Fulltext search for django : Mysql not so bad ? (vs sphinx, xapian)

  I am studying fulltext search engines for django. It must be simple to install, fast indexing, fast index update, not blocking while indexing, fast search. After reading many web pages, I put in short list : Mysql MYISAM fulltext, djapian/python-xapian, and django-sphinx I did not choose lucene because it seems complex, nor haystack as it has less features than djapian/django-sphinx (like fields weighting). Then I made some benchmarks, to do so, I collected many free books on the net to generate a database table with 1 485 000 records (id,title,body), each record is about 600 bytes long. From the database, I also generated a list of 100 000 existing words and shuffled them to create a search list. For the tests, I made 2 runs on my laptop (4Go RAM, Dual core 2.0Ghz): the first one, just after a server reboot to clear all caches, the second is done juste after in order to test how good are cached results. In addition, its query cache is very efficient. Mysql seems to me a good choice as there is nothing to install (I need just to write a small script to synchronize an Innodb production table to a MyISAM search table) and as I do not really need advanced search feature like stemming etc... Here is the question : What do you think about Mysql fulltext search engine vs sphinx and xapian ?

• MySQL differences between to select queries

  I have two mysql queries that return a column of phone numbers. I want am trying to end up with a list of phone numbers that are in one list, but not in the other. So the two queries I have are: SELECT phone FROM civicrm_phone phone LEFT JOIN civicrm_participant participant ON phone.contact_id = participant.contact_id WHERE phone.is_primary = 1 AND participant.id IS NULL and SELECT phone FROM civicrm_phone phone LEFT JOIN civicrm_participant participant ON phone.contact_id = participant.contact_id WHERE phone.is_primary = 1 AND participant.id IS NOT NULL And before anyone asks, the above two queries do not provide mutually exclusive results (based on using IS NULL and IS NOT NULL for the last WHERE statement), since we have related individuals in the database who use the same phone number, but do not necessarily all have a participant.id.   Hello, I'm trying to use ruby-debug19 with Ruby 1.9.1p376 but am getting the following error: test.rb:2:in `require': no such file to load -- ruby-debug19 (LoadError) from test.rb:2:in `<main>' Here's test.rb: require 'rubygems' require 'ruby-debug19' Here's the output of "gem list": *** LOCAL GEMS *** ruby-debug19 (0.11.6) (etc.) So running "ruby test.rb" generates the above error. Am I doing this wrong? I thought this was the correct way to run ruby-debug19 (by including the gem and adding "debugger" statements) and haven't been able to find any articles/posts with the same problem. I am using RVM but the above output is all under the same version of Ruby ("ruby -v" shows 1.9.1p376 as expected, and the gem list output is specific to that version and not the OS X system-installed version 1.8.7).

I have found a way to do this but I am not satisfied with it as it seems like a hack. • Undefined Results in jQuery Autocomplete

  So I've got the latest versions of jQuery and UI running. I'm using the basic autocomplete invocation and returning valid JSON (validated via JSONLint). $("input#cust_id").autocomplete({ source: yoda.app.base + "/assets/cfc/util/autocomplete.cfc?method=cust", minLength: 2, select: function(event, ui) { log(ui.item ? ("Selected: " + ui.item.value + " aka " + ui.item.id) : "Nothing selected, input was " + this.value); } }); Both the value and label elements of the returned array show up in the list as undefined. I can watch the results returned via Firebug and the JSON is correct there as well. Also, while the list only says "undefined" it does say that the same number of times as records returned in JSON. • Chinese encoding issue while listing files

  I am running a Java application on a Solaris10 with Chinese. Now there are some files in a directory with chinese filenames. When I do files = new File(dir).list() where "dir" is the parent directory containing that chinese file, I get the result filename files[0] as ?????(some junk characters). Now the deal is that my programs file.encoding property is already set to GBK and I also do Charset.isSupported("GBK") and it returns true too. So where could be the problem. I am running out of ideas. NOTE: I am not trying to print the filename anywhere or copy the file or something. I am simply openeing a stream to it, something like below: files = new File(dir).list(); new FileInputStream(files[0]); Now this gives me a FileNotFoundExcpetion, so I debug just to find that value inside files[0] is "??????".

• Python "Every Other Element" Idiom

  Hey guys, I feel like I spend a lot of time writing code in Python, but not enough time creating Pythonic code. Recently I ran into a funny little problem that I thought might have an easy, idiomatic solution. Paraphrasing the original, I needed to collect every sequential pair in a list. For example, given the list [1,2,3,4,5,6], I wanted to compute [(1,2),(3,4),(5,6)]. I came up with a quick solution at the time that looked like translated Java. Revisiting the question, the best I could do was l = [1,2,3,4,5,6] [(l[2*x],l[2*x+1]) for x in range(len(l)/2)] which has the side effect of tossing out the last number in the case that the length isn't even. Is there a more idiomatic approach that I'm missing, or is this the best I'm going to get?

  I developed a Hello World application using Black Berry Eclipse plug-in. When I rant it on any BlackBerry simulator of which platform version is greater than or equal to 5.0 then the Hello World application is not found listed in the default application list. However, I can run the application from Options Application : Search (Thridparty) and switch application. How can I make my application come to the default application list on any BlackBerry simulator with platform version is 5.0 or greater.
