• Nginx Joomla Internationalization URL rewriting

  I'm using Joomla in combination with Nginx, and I'm currently trying to achieve some URL rewriting for a website that has several langages supported (italian, french, chinese, and deutch) The urls have the country code after the domain name, like so : http://www.example.com/fr/test/test.html or http://www.example.com/de/test/test.html I'm looking to rewrite the urls so the country code is part of the subdomain : so http://www.example.com/fr/test/test.html becomes http://fr.example.com/test/test.html Is there a way to achieve this with Nginx or should I look into a third party extension for Joomla (not my favorite choice). Thanks !!

• routing problem with startpage in rails3

  Hey, I deleted the Index.html in my /public/ folder. I added a "application" folder in my views. In it I put a new index.html.erb. This I want to be my startpage/homepage. In my new "index.html.erb" I set: link_to 'sign in', {:controller => 'devise/sessions', :action => 'new'} But it redirects me to the "application#index". I set root :to => "application#index How can I set this to route it to "posts#index" after I sign in, for example? Is there a chance to use .erb oder .haml in my /public/index.html? Many thanks!!

  I'm trying out asp.net mvc for a new project, and I ran across something odd. When I use the MVC UI helpers for textboxes, the values get persisted between calls. But, when I use a series of radio buttons, the checked state doesn't get persisted. Here's an example from my view. <li> <%=Html.RadioButton("providerType","1")%><label>Hospital</label> <%=Html.RadioButton("providerType","2")%><label>Facility</label> <%=Html.RadioButton("providerType","3")%><label>Physician</label> </li> When the form gets posted back, I build up an object with "ProviderType" as one of it's properties. The value on the object is getting set, and then I RedirectToAction with the provider as a argument. All is well, and I end up at a URL like "http://localhost/Provider/List?ProviderType=1" with ProviderType showing. The value gets persisted to the URL, but the UI helper isn't picking up the checked state. I'm having this problem with listbox, dropdownlist, and radiobutton. Textboxes pick up the values just fine. Do you see something I'm doing wrong? I'm assuming that the helpers will do this for me, but maybe I'll just have to take care of this on my own. I'm just feeling my way through this, so your input is appreciated. Edit: I just found the override for the SelectList constructor that takes a selected value. That took care of my dropdown issue I mentioned above. Edit #2: I found something that works, but it pains me to do it this way.   I am wondering what the idiomatic way to render special language characters is using Handlebars.js templates. When I render the normal html I can use something like the Spanish lowercase e, &#233, and it renders as expected. When I pass the same text as a string to my Handlebars template I just see the characters &#233. I have tried creating a Handlebars helper that used jquery to render the text using .html() then returning the .html() of the tmp element and I get the same results.

• How to bring the parent element with floated child elements to the center of the document?

  I have organized a menu. Its HTML is as follows: <ul class="topmenu"> <li><a href="sample.html">Text 1</a></li> <li><a href="sample.html">Text 2</a></li> <li><a href="sample.html">Text 3</a></li> <li><a href="sample.html">Text 4</a></li> <ul> This is a horizontal menu, so I have floated the list items to left to appear them in a horizontal line. I could have used display:inline to appear them in a single line, but since IE does not support it and I don't know any other way to do so, I used float:left;. It's css is: .topmenu { list-style:none; margin:0; padding:0; } .topmenu li { float:left; } This brings the menu in a perfect horizontal line, but the entire list is floated to the left. I want to bring the .topmenu to appear in the center of the document and keep the listitem inside it floated towards the left. I found that this is achievable by defining width property of the .topmenu, but I dont want to fix its width as the list-items are dynamically generated and thus could increase and decrease. Any one know of any solution?

The $("span").text are just so I know what's happening and will be turned into comments when the code is complete. So here is what happens, on Chrome and Firefox the output of the $("span").text for the position variables is correct, starting at 0,0 and always showing how much of the content was scrolled in coordinates, but on IE it starts on -2,-2 and never gets out of it, even if I manually scroll the window until the end of it and try using the right arrow key it will still return the initial value of -2,-2 and scroll back to the beggining. I tried substituting the offset for document.body.scrollLetf and scrollTop but the result is the same, only this time the coordinates are 0,0. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this some IE bug? Is there a way around it or some other function I can use and achieve the same results? • Loading a CSV file using jQuery GET returns the header but no data

  When reading a CSV file from a server using the jQuery 'GET' function I do not get any data. When I look at the code using FireBug I can see the GET request is sent and the return value is '200 OK'. Also I see that the header is returned correctly so the request is definitely made, and data is returned. This is also what I see in Wireshark. Here I see the complete contents of the CSV file is returned as a standard HTTP response. But the actual data is not there in my script. Firebug shows an empty response and the 'success' function is never called.   I would like to allow users to call my ruby on rails app as a service which returns a 'div' with html content in it, and embed that div into their app (which will not be a rails application). For example, assume someone has their own php website that has a header/footer template that gets rendered, and a content area of the page that they need to fill based on some html I generate in my rails app. I would like to allow them, from php, to call to my website, get the 'div' I generate, and embed that as html in their php page. What I'm trying to do is host a service on my site that returns some html content, but actually show that content as part of another site, so that the end user only sees the other site and never really knows about mine. Is this possible?

• Ordering by Sum from a separate controller part 2

  Ok, so I had this working just fine before making a few controller additions and the relocation of some code. I feel like I am missing something really simple here but have spent hours trying to figure out what is going on. Here is the situation. class Question < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :sites end and class Sites < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :questions end I am trying to display my Sites in order of the sum of the 'like' column in the Sites Table. From my previous StackOverflow question I had this working when the partial was being called in the /views/sites/index.html.erb file. I then moved the partial to being called in the /views/questions/show.html.erb file and it successfully displays the Sites but fails to order them as it did when being called from the Sites view. • .htaccess subdomain redirect problem

  Hi, I have a website let's say www.example.com and I have a subdomain something.example.com Both main domain and sub domain are pointing to directory "public_html" I have .htaccess on root which redirects any URL without www to www. For e.g. if user enters example.com then he will be redirected to www.example.com If user enters example.com/mypage.html then he will be redirected to www.example.com/mypage.html Now the problem is this is also affecting my subdomain. Because if someone enters something.example.com/visit.html then he is redirect to www.example.com/visit.html I don't want this! If user enters subdomain then I don't want to redirected to www domain.
