• Making a ViewFlipper like the Home Screen using MotionEvent.ACTION_MOVE

  Ok I have a ViewFlipper with three LinearLayouts nested inside it. It defaults to showing the first one. I'm wondering if someone can help me out with the last part. Assuming that I can access the LinearLayouts, is there a way where I can set the position of the layouts based on deltaX and deltaY? After importing the source into Netbeans, along with importing the following libraries: org.slf4j:slf4j-api:jar:1.6.1 org.apache.httpcomponents:httpclient:jar:4.3.2 org.apache.httpcomponents:httpcore:jar:4.3.1 org.json:json:jar:20131018 commons-codec:commons-codec:jar:1.9 junit:junit:jar:4.11 ch.qos.logback:logback-classic:jar:0.9.28 ch.qos.logback:logback-core:jar:0.9.28 I ran the example code from https://github.com/thiagolocatelli/parse4j Parse.initialize(APP_ID, APP_REST_API_ID); // I replaced these with mine ParseObject gameScore = new ParseObject("GameScore"); gameScore.put("score", 1337); gameScore.put("playerName", "Sean Plott"); gameScore.put("cheatMode", false); gameScore.save(); And I got that it was missing org.apache.commons.logging, so I downloaded that and imported it. There is another similar crtbegin.o in the toolchain install directory that contains the missing symbol (_dso_handle). What is the difference between crtbegin.o and crtbegin_dynamic.o?

• Using IIS Application Request Routing (ARR) for ASP.NET MVC

  I use a simple ASP.NET MVC web (the template you use when you create a new site) and the web works as expected in my live environment. I now try to use IIS Application Request Routing version 2. I have a rule that send all reuqests to a different server that match a rule. The settings are a bit like this: http://blogs.iis.net/wonyoo/archive/2008/07/09/application-request-routing-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy.aspx My rule is just a bit different it is /shop(.*). Only requests that contain shop are send to a different server. I have to use rewrite, not redirect (The same as in the Picture) This works as long as the web the original requests go to is no ASP.NET MVC web. I tried to use a plain htm file in the webfolder and it worked. If put a compiled ASP.NET application into the webfolder it worked. But as soon as I put an ASP.NET MVC web into the folder, request arr served by this application. My understanding is that the ARR should kick in before the web application gets the chance to handle the request. Did anybody use ARR sucessfully as a reverse proxy for a ASP.NET MVC web? EDIT Here is the resulting web config when the rewrite roule is entered. • Silverlight 4 OOB application access HTML DOM of the page in WebBrowser control

  Does anybody know if it is possible to access and manipulate an element in the html page that is rendered by the Silverlight 4 WebBrowser control. The scenario is like this. The user launches a Silverlight OOB application with elevated trust. The user manipulates some data in the application but must submit part of the data to an external web site. If I open the external site in a WebBrowser control, is there any way I can assist the user by pre filling some information in the external sites' web form via programmatic access to the DOM?

• iPhone: Application Install Fails With "Invalid Signer" Error

  The iPhone is attached to a Mac runnning the latest iTunes version and I am 100% sure that her UDID is in the provisioning file. Her iPhone has not been jailbroken and we even restored it to factory settings. I am having trouble installing our development build on this one iPhone. The error is: the application "[Application Name]" was not installed on the iPhone "iPhone" because the signer is not valid I am 100% sure that the UDID is accurately entered in the provisioning file and that they correctly copied the right provision file/build combo. This same combo has been successfully installed on over a dozen iphones. We have been able to install this on some devices with no problems. Edit: From comments to an answer: We can install it on 100 iphone with our account. We have about 40 iphones in this provisioning profile and it works on 38 of them.

• Using WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application doesn't show me any information

  I am trying to use WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application (I have the latest WPFPerf that should work on WPF 4.0 aps). I start the tool Visual Profiler from WPFPerf, I start my aplication, but after that nothing happens and the element tree from the Visual Profiler is empty. No other error message is shown. Can anyone tell me what am I not doint right? As an additional information, when I try to analize my .exe assembly or any other assembly from my application, I get a BadFormatException saying that the assembly was build with a newer version of .NET. From the download page http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=191420 I see that this version of WPFPerf should be ok for my app

  I have added Jacson libs to my android project and now I am getting such warnings in console: warning: Ignoring InnerClasses attribute for an anonymous inner class that doesn't come with an associated EnclosingMethod attribute. (This class was probably produced by a broken compiler.) I've tried to recompile libs, but it didn't help. Warnings are gone when I remove these libs from project. Everything is working fine on the device, but this annoys me ;) Do you know any solution?

  I am working with v4 of the Enterprise Application block and I am trying to learn how to access the Application Settings that I have added using the Enterprise Library Configuration tool. It's as if the code does not recognize the settings even though I can see them in the app.config. I DO have a Settings.Settings designer added and I CAN get to those settings the standard way even though the settings added in that designer do NOT show up in the app.config like they normally would if I am NOT using the Enterprise Block How do I access the App Settings that I added with the Enterprise Block?

• Problem with onRetainNonConfigurationInstance

  I am writing a small app using the Android SDK, 1.6 target, and the Eclipse plug-in. I have layouts for both portrait and landscape mode, and most everything is working well. I say most because I am having issues with the orientation change. One part of the app has a ListView "on top of" another section. That section consists of 4 checkboxes, a button, and some TextViews. That is the portrait version. The landscape version replaces the ListView with a Spinner and rearranges some of the other components (but leaves the ALL resource ids the same). While in either orientation things work like they should. It's when the app switches orientation that things go off. Only 1 of the checkboxes maintains it's state throughout both layout changes. The other three CBs only maintain their state when going from landscape-portrait. I am also having problem getting the ListView/Spinner to correctly set themselves on changing. I am using onRetainNonConfigurationInstance() and creating a custom object that is returned. When I step through the code during a orientation change, the custom object is successfully pulled back out the the ether, and the widgets are being set to the correct values (inspecting them).   I want to use DCMTK in my application and have successfully compiled DCMTK 3.6.0 for the iOS Simulator. Then I created a workspace into which I added the DCMTK project and my application. I added the .a files as target dependencies and linked the binaries. I think I am missing the part where I have to set the header/library search paths. I try to include a header file say #include "dcm2xml.h" and it says file not found. What am I doing wrong? I have seen this. - how to use dcmtk in iphone project But I think there's a simpler way without using that framework.

  This is a new iPhone project, only 1 target (different from this question) On build we get: Failed to launch simulated application: Unknown error. The google again gives us nothing, lots of people have encountered this and there are lots of crazy ideas to try "oh clean the build", "clear the cache", "twiddle this flag" and none of them work and work consistently. We can reproduce this on two different machines with SDK 2.2.1 and 3.0 beta. Not the install on the machines since other iphone projects work just fine so we believe it has something to do with the config of this particular project but after combing through the config twice we can't spot the problem. I want to make this application screen resolution independent so that it can run on different mobile devices with different screen resolutions. Currently I am testing my application on different emulators for platform- Pocket PC 2003, Windows mobile 6 standard SDK & Windows Mobile 6 professional SDK . When I run the application on emulator for 240*320 screen resolution or less than that it works well ( only it provide the horizontal & vertical scrall bar in case of resolution less tha 240*320). If I run my application on emulator with more than 240*320 screen resolution its User Inferface gets badly affected. How to make the smart device application screen resolution independent ? Can you provide me the code or link through which i can resolve the above issue? Is there any setting for making the application screen resolution independent?

  I'm playing around with the iPad SplitView template and it was working fine before I started swapping out view objects in my RootViewController. When it was working fine, the application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method would be called and would setup my persistant store objects, then the RootViewController:viewDidLoad method would be called to populate my rootView with data from my store. I opened up IB and started swapping out view objects in my RootView and now the application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method never gets called, but the RootViewController:viewDidLoad method still does. Obviously, the app crashes because the viewDidLoad method depends on the successful execution of the didFinishLauchingWIthOptions method to setup the persistent store objects. Does anyone have any thoughts on what is causing this or how I can go about investigating what's causing this? I'm obviously new to iPhone OS development, so I apologize if this questions is absurd in any way. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

  I want to implement a small android application, that works as SSL Server. After lot of problems with the right format of the keystore, I solved this and run into the next one. My keystore file is properly loaded by the KeyStore class. But when I try to open the server socket (socket.accept()) the following error is raised: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Could not find any key store entries to support the enabled cipher suites. I generated my keystore with this command: keytool -genkey -keystore test.keystore -keyalg RSA -keypass ssltest -storepass ssltest -storetype BKS -provider org.bouncycastle.jce.provider.BouncyCastleProvider -providerpath bcprov.jar with the Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy for Java SE6 applied to my jre6. I got a list of supported ciphers suites by calling socket.getSupportedCipherSuites() that prints a long list with very different combinations. But I don't know how to get a supported key. I also tried the android debug keystore after converting it to BKS format using portecle but get still the same error. Can anyone help and tell how I can generate a key that is compatible with one of the cipher suites? • Building Eclipse RCP application, running fails

  Hi, after successfully building my application the start fails because it relies on config files which are located in the META-INF directory and after the build this directory is zipped into a jar file, hence making it unable to access the config files. After manually unzipping the jar, deleting the jar and renaming the directory with xxx.jar the program runs without a problem. The config files are needed for SSO login (Kerberos).   I am required to use custom fonts in my application. Problem: For ListViews that contain rows with Multi-Line TextViews having ellipsize property set to true, I can see some illegible characters after the ellipsis. Apparently Android pads the String(in TextView) with some characters unknown to my custom font. Single line TextView seem to work just fine. What is the best way to hide these characters or remove the padding? Thanks.

• Memory leak in xbap application

  Hi, We are using many custom controls by inheriting form the WPFcontrols as the base and customizing it for our need. However, the memory used by these controls are not released, even after pages using the controls are closed, until the whole application is closed. As these application has to work for a whole day performance decreases as more and more memory gets held up. When we profiled our page we found that the controls where not getting collected as there where some binding reference or some borders or brushes etc not getting cleared from that control. We tried to use the Unload event of the controls to remove the events and some references from the control. This reduced the leak to some extent but this was slowing down closing of the page also the unload event was getting triggered when the control was even collapsed. Is there any other ways to overcome the leak? Are there any best practices to prevent memory leaks? Thanks Arvind
