  • How to use Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll to get the site information the page is running on?

    I have a half dozen sites on my server and I would like to get some info from IIS7 to display in the footer of each page (as long as you are an admin of course). I am going through the ServerObject and found Sites but am not finding anything obvious for "this site". What should I do to get at the information for the exact site in IIS7 that the page is running on?   • Issue allowing custom Xml Serialization/Deserialization on certain types of field

    I've been working with Xml Serialization/Deserialization in .net and wanted a method where the serialization/deserialization process would only be applied to certain parts of an Xml fragment. This is so I can keep certain parts of the fragment in Xml after the deserialization process. To do this I thought it would be best to create a new class (XmlLiteral) that implemented IXmlSerializable and then wrote specific code for handling the IXmlSerializable.ReadXml and IXmlSerializable.WriteXml methods. In my example below this works for Serializing, however during the Deserialization process it fails to run for multiple uses of my XmlLiteral class. In my example below sTest1 gets populated correctly, but sTest2 and sTest3 are empty. I'm guessing I must be going wrong with the following lines but can't figure out why.. Any ideas at all?     I have received numerous calls from users lately, stating that they are not able to access the conference sites with IE7. These sites are created from a template, and they are managed on Joomla. Previously on other sites, there have no problems or complaints. However, with the recent complaints , I suspect that the culprit is my simple jQuery codes since the sites that have been reported have been created recently and incorporated with jQuery features.   • How to call PopOver Controller from UITableViewCell.accessoryView?

    Hi, First I would like to say that I'm really new to ipad/ipod/iphone development, and to objective-c too. With that being said, I'm trying to develop a small application targeting the iPad, using Xcode and IB, basically, I have a table, for each UITableViewCell in the table, I added to the accessoryView a button that contains an image. Here is the code: UIImage *img = [UIImage imageNamed:@"myimage.png"]; UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, img.size.width, img.size.height); button.frame = frame; // match the button's size with the image size [button setBackgroundImage:img forState:UIControlStateNormal]; // set the button's target to this table view controller so we can interpret touch events and map that to a NSIndexSet [button addTarget:self action:@selector(checkButtonTapped:event:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; button.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; cell.accessoryView = button; So far, so good, now the problem is that I want a PopOver control to appear when a user taps the button on the accessoryView of a cell. I tried this on the "accessoryButtonTappedForRowWithIndexPath" of the tableView: UITableViewCell *cell = [myTable cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath]; UIButton *button = (UIButton *)cell.accessoryView; //customViewController is the controller of the view that I want to be displayed by the PopOver controller customViewController = [[CustomViewController alloc]init]; popOverController = [[UIPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController: customViewController]; popOverController.popoverContentSize = CGSizeMake(147, 122); CGRect rect = button.frame; [popOverController presentPopoverFromRect:rect inView:cell.accessoryView permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionUp animated:YES]; The problem with this code is that it shows the Popover at the top of the application View, while debugging I saw the values of "rect" and they are: x = 267 y = 13 so I think it is pretty obvious why the PopOver is being displayed so up on the view, so my question is, how can I get the correct values for the PopOver to appear just below the button on the accessoryView of the cell? Also, as you can see, I'm telling it to use the "cell.accessoryView" for the "inView:" attribute, is that okay?

I'm parsing a fairly complicated XML file of the following structure: <root> ... ... <item> <subitem id="1"/> <text> text1 </text> </item> <item> <subitem id="2"/> <text> text2 </text> </item> ... <item> ... </item> ...</root> It's pretty crude but you get my drift I hope. I'm primarily interested in "item" nodes. So I wrote the following code (directly out of the Qt's online manual): QXmlQuery query; query.setQuery("//item/"); QXmlResultItems result; query.evaluateTo(&result); QXmlItem item(result.next()); while (!item.isNull()) { if (item.isNode()) { // WHAT DO I DO NOW? } item = result.next(); } Now, QXmlItem appears to represent two concepts, a literal value (like a string) or a Node, (which is what item.isNode() is doing). Unfortunately, I can't grasp how to convert the QXmlItem to something that will query-able again. In particular from the example above I'd like to grab the "id" attribute, and the text element. Can I do this using the XQuery approach, or am I way off base here? Any advice? Thanks!

    I made a python function to convert dictionaries to formatted strings. My goal was to have a function take a dictionary for input and turn it into a string that looked good. For example, something like "{'text':'Hello', 'blah':{'hi':'hello','hello':'hi'}}" would be turned into this: text: Hello blah: hi: hello hello: hi This is the code I wrote: indent = 0 def format_dict(d): global indent res = "" for key in d: res += (" " * indent) + key + ":\n" if not type(d[key]) == type({}): res += (" " * (indent + 1)) + d[key] + "\n" else: indent += 1 res += format_dict(d[key]) indent -= 1 return res #test print format_dict({'key with text content':'some text', 'key with dict content': {'cheese': 'text', 'item':{'Blah': 'Hello'}}}) It works like a charm. It checks if the dictionary item is another dictionary, in which it process that, or something else, in which it would use that as the value. The problem is: I can't have a dictionary and a string together in a dictionary item. For example: if I wanted blah: hi hello: hello again there'd be no way to do it. Is there some way I could have something like a list item in a dictionary. Something like this "{'blah':{'hi', 'hello':'hello again'}}"? And if you provide a solution could you tell me how I would need to change my code (if it did require changes). Note: I am using python 2.5

    Ok, this is strange. I would hope it's something I'm doing wrong and not that MS has two technologies that simply don't work together. (UPDATE: See bottom of post for Script tag order in HEAD section) I'm trying to use the dataView template and client-side validation. I know what's going wrong, but I don't really know how to go about fixing it. Here's the piece of code I'm running: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { using(Mp3FileReader reader = new Mp3FileReader(@"path\to\MP3")) { using(WaveFileWriter writer = new WaveFileWriter(@"C:\test.wav", new WaveFormat())) { int counter = 0; while(reader.Read(test, counter, test.Length + counter) != 0) { writer.WriteData(test, counter, test.Length + counter); counter += 512; } } } } reader.Read() goes into the Mp3FileReader class, and the method looks like this: public override int Read(byte[] sampleBuffer, int offset, int numBytes) { if (numBytes % waveFormat.BlockAlign != 0) //throw new ApplicationException("Must read complete blocks"); numBytes -= (numBytes % waveFormat.BlockAlign); return mp3Stream.Read(sampleBuffer, offset, numBytes); } mp3Stream is an object of the Stream class. The problem is: I'm getting an ArgumentException. MSDN says that this is because the sum of offset and numBytes is greater than the length of sampleBuffer. Documentation: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.io.stream.read.aspx This happens because I increase the counter every time, but the size of the byte array test remains the same. What I've been wondering is: do I need to increase the size of the array dynamically, or do I need to find out the needed size at the beginning and set it right away? And also, instead of 512, the method in Mp3FileReader returns 365 the first time. Which is the size of a whole block. But I'm writing the full 512. I'm basically just using the read to check if I'm not at the end of the file yet. Do I need to catch the return value and do something with that, or am I good here?

  • webserver horrible slow, sometimes incredible fast

    i am running a small community ( 6000+ Members ) on a non-virtual 64-bit ubuntu 11.04 system. I am not a Linux-pro, not even advanced, i just tried to setup a webserver, which does nothing special actually. Delivering some dynamic PHP and RoR websites is its task. So it might be that my configuration files do look horrible bad. Also, i might use the wrong vocabulary, so in doubt, please ask. Having a current all-time record of 520 registered users (board-accounts, no system-users) online at same time, average server-load is about 2.0 - 5.0. Meantime (~250 users) average server load value is at about 0.4 - 0.8, sometimes, on some expensive searches a bit higher. everything fine. From time to time however, the load increases up to 120 (120.0, not 12.0 ;) ). In this time, its hard to even connect via SSH, but when i reach the server, and use top/htop/iotop to see whats happening, i cannot identify any process causing high CPU load. iotop tells me about a current reading/writing speed of about approx. 70kb/s, which is quite equal to power-off i think. Memory-Usage is max. at ~ 12GB of 16GB, so swap remains empty. now the odd (at least for me:) waiting some minutes ( since i always get a bit into a panic when this happens, it feels like 5 minutes, but i suppose its more like 20-30 minutes) and the server is back to normal. everything continues as normal. another odd fact: when i run hdparm -tT /dev/sda, i get answer like: /dev/sda: Timing cached reads: 7180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3591.13 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 348 MB in 3.02 seconds = 115.41 MB/sec when i run the same command while the server is "frozen", the answer is like /dev/sda: <- takes about 5 minutes until this line appears Timing cached reads: 7180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3591.13 MB/sec <- 5 more minutes Timing buffered disk reads: 348 MB in 3.02 seconds = 115.41 MB/sec <- another 5 minutes so the values are the same, but the quoted time is completely wrong. using time command as prefix also tells me that ~ 15 minutes were used. I searched in dmesg, /var/log/[messages|syslog] - nothing found. /var/log/errors however tells me that: Jul 4 20:28:30 localhost kernel: [19080.671415] INFO: task php5-fpm:27728 blocked for more than 120 seconds. Jul 4 20:28:30 localhost kernel: [19080.671419] "echo 0 /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. multiple times. now that message does tell me that php5-fpm task was blocked or did block ? - but not if that is the cause or just one of the results of that "freeze". One additional Fact: my MYSQL-database is at 12GB size. i dont know if that does matter, but mytop sometimes shows me 4-5 seconds long insert queries, some are 20-30 seconds long. Its just a feeling that i am unable to prove (because i dont know how), but when i disable the database, the freeze seems not to happen. I currently feel like running form bad to worse and back by googling for my server-problem due to immense lack of knowledge regarding server configurations. It still makes me wonder, why those problems even appear, since 250 users a time is not such a high amount, right? So my questions: whats wrong and how to fix? ;) or: what information can i provide to make the situation more clear? can you point at some critical bad configuration-line which i should consider to catch up in the documentation? are there any tools i can run to see some possible bottlenecks? any further advice? (next to: "pay someone who knows what he does" - its a private project, server costs enough already. :)) Thanks for your time and help.     Hi, i have a GridView (selectable) in which I want to generate a dynamic GridView in a new row BELOW the selected row. I can add the row and gridview dynamically in the Gridview1 PreRender event. I need to use this event because: _OnDataBound is not called on every postback (same for _OnRowDataBound) _OnInit is not possible because the 'Inner table' for the Gridview is added after Init _OnLoad is not possible because the 'selected' row is not selected yet. I can add the columns to the dynamic GridView based on my ITemplate class. But now the button events won't fire.... Any suggestions?     I want to make a form contained in another form. The problem is the application is already a MDI, and you can't nest MDI's. If I do childFrm.Parent = parentForm some controls behave oddly.     I'm having trouble with a simple radio set of two radio buttons (I don't want to use a RadioButtonList [RBL] because RBL doesn't allow child controls, and in my case, if you select one option, I want to enable a textbox next to the button; yes you could hack this with jQuery to move the textbox, but that's dirty!). I would check one, submit the form (either explicitly or through AutoPostBack), and the CheckedChanged event would never fire. When the page was reloaded, both buttons would be unchecked, regardless of their initial state on non-postback load or the state before form submission. I took out the checkbox and stripped this down to the simplest example I could come up with.     I'm trying to replace a friendly url pattern with a html url notation but due to lack of regex experience I can't figure out why my regex only replaces the first occurence of my pattern: string text = "[Hotel Des Terrasses \http://flash-hotel.fr/] and [Du Phare \http://www.activehotels.com/hotel/]"; text = Regex.Replace(text, @"\[(.+)\s*\\(.+)\]", "<a href=\"$2\" target=\"_blank\">$1</a>"); How can i make the second pattern be replaced with the HTML markup too?

  • StreamReader.ReadToEnd() returning an empty string

    I have a method private static String DecompressAndDecode(byte[] data) { GZipStream decompressor = new GZipStream(new MemoryStream(data), CompressionMode.Decompress); StreamReader decompressed = new StreamReader(decompressor, Encoding.UTF8); String result = decompressed.ReadToEnd(); return result; } I have some GZipped text as input and the result is supposed to be a String representation of this text. The problem is that the method returns an empty string. What is puzzling me is that when I step trough the method in debug mode and reach the return statement the result variable is an empty string but if I create a watch for the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression it returns me the text. What I would expect at this point is the result variable to contain the text and the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression evaluating to an empty string. (Reevaluating the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression returns an empty string as expected). There must be something obvious I'm missing here.

  • In Excel, VBA - How can we lock resizing of a rectangle

    I have an excel sheet that contains two rectangles and text in other cells. I need to allow users to only edit the text in the rectangle. They should not be able to change the size of the object. Applying lock on the rectangle locks the object as well as the text. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?
