  Hi, i'm have not much experience in table design. My goal is a product table(s), it must design to fix some requirement below: Support many kind of products (TV, Phone, PC, ...). Each kind of product has different set of parameters like: Phone will have Color, Size, Weight, OS... PC will have CPU, HDD, RAM... Set of parameters must be dynamic. You can add or edit any parameter you like. I don't want make a table for each kind of product. So I need help to find a correct solution. Thanks.

• CSS margin collapsing?

  I'm working with Google Chrome on OS X, and I seem to be running into a margin collapse issue. I have two divs stacked on top of each other, both with a margin-top of 2px and a margin-bottom of 5px, and both with a 1px border. According to my arithmetic, there should be 1+1+2+5=7px of space between the "content" areas of the divs, since the border prevents the margins from collapsing? More confusing is that, in a location where I have a div with a 3px border and a 0 margin-top underneath one of the previously described divs, I end up with 9px of space (as I so dearly desire). The only difference between the divs is the additional class that shrinks the border and redefines the margins, so both divs have the same padding (only padding-bottom is 0). Can anyone point out where I've gone wrong?

• odd problem with jni interacting with dll's - not sure why a change to gc ergonomics fixes it

  We were having a problem with our Tomcat jvm blowing up and giving us an hs_* dump at random times but always in the same spot, that wasn't very informative other than saying we had an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Commenting out various parts of the java that called particular jni functions just made it blow consistently in another spot. By changing our jvm options from: set PAF_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx32000m -server -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:+UseParallelOldGC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseCompressedOops -Djava.library.path="%CATALINA_HOME%"\jni -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote TO set PAF_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx32000m -server -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseCompressedOops -Djava.library.path="%CATALINA_HOME%"\jni -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote The problem went away.   Does anyone have experience writing professional OpenGL games on Windows? For the Mac, due to apple's control, the OS seems quite "uniform". For windows, due to different hardware, different drivers installed, etc ... the hardware base seems to have many many different configurations. In theory, OpenGL provides a API that abstracts all this away. In practice, many drivers are often buggy and have weird cases -- has this been a problem for developing games on Windows? Thanks!

• Chrome Facebook Connect Window Resize

  I am experiencing a weird issue in Google Chrome for Mac OS X (10.6). I am using the JS Facebook Connect library and FB.Connect.streamPublish to share a story on a users profile. If the user is already logged in to Facebook prior to coming to the share page on my site, there's no problem - the window opens as an absolutely positioned div above the rest of my site. If the user is not logged in, though, a pop-up window opens that asks the user to log in. This works perfectly in Firefox, but when using Chrome, when the Facebook login window opens, it starts gradually resizing itself until it becomes a narrow column - when manually resizing the window, it gradually reverts back to the narrow column. I googled this problem and found that some users are experiencing the same issue, but I could not find a solution. Does anybody know anything about this?   I have a website and I just setup an os shopping cart (ie., Magento) I installed the cart in a sub-directory off the document root as /magento/ per the installation guidelines. So my web site cart's URL is http://mydomain.com/magento/ I have no public pages off the document root and I actually want my cart to be my home page -- in other words, I want http://mydomain.com/magento/ to resolve as http://mydomain.com/ Is it possible? Can I use mod-rewrite to make it happen? If so, can you suggest what the mod-rewrite directives would look like? Or is it simply a permanent redirect like: redirect 301 /magento http://mydomain.com/ Thanks.

• Problem with pre-beta sdk - even after reinstalling SDK 3.2

  I'm trying to upload the binary for a new app, but always get this errormessage: "The binary you uploaded was invalid. A pre-release beta version of the SDK was used to build the application." I know several people have asked a similar question, but I've tried all suggestions from the answers there without success. I used the XCode 4.0 beta 3 during development, and I've tried using it to compile for earlier releases (3.0, 3.1.3, 3.2 etc...) I've also tried downgrading to SDK 3.2, as well as removing 4.0 beta 3 and then installing SDK 3.2 as a fresh install. It seems to me that there might be some parameter in the "Edit Project Settings" that is sticking from the use of 4.0 beta 3, but I've tried to identify them without success. My last option seem to be a complete reinstall of both OS and SDK. Is there something else I might try first?

  I am trying to create a MainScreen with vertical scrolling. From what I've read in the documentation, MainScreen has a VerticalManager inside, so it should be possible to enable vertical scrolling only with proper construction, i.e: super(MainScreen.VERTICAL_SCROLL | MainScreen.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR); This is not working for me, however. I am creating a screen, adding a couple of LabelFields and no scrollbar, no scrolling at all. I am testing on 8900, OS 5.0. • CodeIgniter - Disallowed Key Characters via $_GET

  I am getting echoed "Disallowed Key Characters." in my CodeIgniter when I have a http_cookie sent via GET from a SSL relay site (a payment gateway) to my application. My question is if there's any way that I can get this http_cookie through this "_clean_input_keys" method that cause this Disallowed-message and exits? The parameter contains a getenv("HTTP_COOKIE") set into a hidden input and needs to be used to keep the session alive even though it will be sent to the relay site and back again. • Blackberry.location API not working correctly

  I am experimenting with making Blackberry widgets but having a little trouble. My first trial involves displaying a button which, when clicked, calls a JavaScript function that should alert the phones latitude and longitude. The function looks: function whereAmI() { var latitude = blackberry.location.latitude; var longitude = blackberry.location.longitude; alert("Lat: "+latitude+", Long: "+longitude); } But it only ever alerts "Lat: 0, Long: 0". I've checked and my GPS seems to be working ok. I'm running OS 5.* on a Curve 8900. Any help would be appreciated :)

• How to view output .mp files from Functional MetaPost

  I'm interested in using Functional MetaPost on Mac OS X: http://cryp.to/funcmp/ I'm looking for a tutorial like: http://haskell.org/haskellwiki/Haskell_in_5_steps but for a trivial FuncMP example, i.e. using GHC, I can compile something simple such as: import FMP myPicture = text "blah" main = generate "foo" 1 myPicture but I can't figure out how to view this foo.1.mp output. (It gives a runtime error about not finding 'virmp'; my MetaPost binary is 'mpost'; I can't figure out how to override this Parameter or what my .FunMP file is or should be doing...) I can run mpost on that but the output (foo.1.1) is what, PostScript? EPS? How do I use this? (I imagine I just need a simple LaTeX file with an EPS figure in it or something...) Preferably, I'd like to generate output (.ps or .pdf that I can view) so I an actually get somewhere with Functional MetaPost, learning it, playing with it, not banging my head against paths and binaries and shell commands.

• Adobe AIR: touch screen doesn't trigger mouse down event correctly

  i have designed a gaming kiosk app in as3 i am using it on a Sony vaio l pc (like hp's touchsmarts) in windows 7 the app doesn't need any multi-touch gestures (only single touch clicks and drags) so i am using mouse events everything is fine (including mouse click and move events) except that a single touch to the screen (with no move) doesn't fire a mouse down. it is fired only after a small move of the finger outside the app, on my desktop, i see that the small windows 7 cursor jumps immediately to where a finger is placed, meaning this issue isn't a hardware or a windows problem but rather how internally the flash app receives "translated" touch-to-mouse events from the os. for example, in a windows Solitaire game, a simple touch to the screen immediately highlights the touched card. in my app, a button will change to the down state only if i touch it and also move my finger slightly (click events - down and up - are triggered fine) shouldn't the MOUSE_DOWN event trigger exactly like how a TOUCH_BEGIN would in the new touchevent class? any ideas?

  Dear Everyone, I've a application which has been written for 2.1. Now I'm running that app on xcode 3.2.5 and SDK 4.2. Here's the problem, When I try to Build and Run, I get the following error: UIKit.framework/UIKit.h: No such file or directory In file included from users/.../classes/Radio.m UIKit.framework/UIKit.h: no such file or directory in users/.../classes/Radio.h I don't know why I'm facing that error, because the UIKit.framework is included in my projects "Frameworks" group. I've updated the OS target and other similar options, and application runs clearly without UIKit. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me through. Regards,

Given N developers running a mixture of Ubuntu and Mac OS X, all with the same version of Eclipse, how to make sure that: Each developer, on top of his favourite "Available Software Sites" selection, has a common set of installation sources? Each developer has an easy (automated?) way of installing a base set of plug-ins? Each developer can just as easily install a custom plugin developed in-house and distributed over the local network? No automatically deployed plugins conflict with any others a developer might already be using? I would post this to serverfault.com if it wasn't that I am more interested in a "scripting" answer than a traditional "system management" solution... ;-)

• VS2008 Setup Project for C# Project

  I've built app using wmp.dll which is Windows System File in my XP machine. If I tried add outputs of above project to my Setup Project, VS warned that ''wmp.dll' should be excluded because its source file 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\wmp.dll' is under Windows System File Protection'. There're three things under 'Detected Dependencies' folder. Microsoft .NET Framework, Interop.WMPLib.dll and wmp.dll. The app works okay in my machine, of course. But if I install this into Windows Server 2003 machine, the app does not be launched. I think this is because different version of OS use different version of wmp.dll. Anyway, how can I fix this? ps. I've even excluded wmp.dll from the Setup Project.

• How to get SVN to ignore Mac "._" files?

  My development server is accessed by several OSX users, and their OS tends to leave lots of unnecessary files around the place, all starting with dot underscore ("._"). I know OSX can be told not to create these on network drives, but they still sneak in. I'd like SVN to ignore anything starting with "._", but I can't seem to get it to work, even though it looks like it should be simple. I've added "._*" to the SVN global ignore pattern, but SVN is still trying to add and commit these files. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? My full SVN ignore pattern is: global-ignores = *.o *.lo *.la *.al .libs *.so *.so.[0-9]* *.a *.pyc *.pyo *.rej *~ #*# .#* .*.swp .DS_Store Thumbs.db ._* *.bak *.tmp nbproject I don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm trying to set this on both Ubuntu and Ubuntu server by editing the /etc/subversion/config file.

  Hello all , I have developed a simple location aware iPhone application which is functionally working very well to our expectations except in the low memory condition of the phone . In low memory condition of the phone my app just got crashes and If I increases the phone memory by freeing up some space it again start working well without any crash . when I do some googling on the problem I found that in the low memory conditions the os will send didReceiveMemoryWarning to all the controllers in the current hierarchy so that each one of them should implement didReceiveMemoryWarning method and also set nil to iboutlet for the view that is currently not visible . I have also read somewhere that if the view for that controller is not visible the method setView with nil parameter will be called and if there are some outlet variables attached to view there will be problem in removing them. So with all these fundas what is the best to handle low level memory condition raised by the Iphone by implementing the didReceiveMemoryWarning and viewDidUnload methods. Please give a proper example or link if possible for the solution of the above problem . thanks.

  Hi, Dabbling with creating an installer with inno setup- but wondering: What are the pros and cons of using registry keys (windows program) vs. .ini files that sit within the program folder? If I store all my user settings in .ini files, the entire program can be removed by deleting the folder. With registry keys i'd have to create an uninstaller / remove the key manually. Why is it that most commercial applications use registry values? I know from brief use of Macs that most programs are drag and drop. Are one of the major reasons because of the lack of a registry key in mac OS?
