• Unable to cast lists with Reflection in C#

  I am having a lot of trouble with Reflection in C# at the moment. The app I am writing allows the user to modify the attributes of certain objects using a config file. I want to be able to save the object model (users project) to XML. The function below is called in the middle of a foreach loop, looping through a list of objects that contain all the other objects in the project within them. The idea is, that it works recursively to translate the object model into XML. Dont worry about the call to "Unreal" that just modifes the name of the objects slightly if they contain certain words. private void ReflectToXML(object anObject, XmlElement parentElement) { Type aType = anObject.GetType(); XmlElement anXmlElement = m_xml.CreateElement(Unreal(aType.Name)); parentElement.AppendChild(anXmlElement); PropertyInfo[] pinfos = aType.GetProperties(); //loop through this objects public attributes foreach (PropertyInfo aInfo in pinfos) { //if the attribute is a list Type propertyType = aInfo.PropertyType; if ((propertyType.IsGenericType)&&(propertyType.GetGenericTypeDefinition() == typeof(List<>))) { List<object> listObjects = (aInfo.GetValue(anObject,null) as List<object>); foreach (object aListObject in listObjects) { ReflectToXML(aListObject, anXmlElement); } } //attribute is not a list else anXmlElement.SetAttribute(aInfo.Name, ""); } } If an object attributes are just strings then it should be writing them out as string attributes in the XML. If an objects attributes are lists, then it should recursively call "ReflectToXML" passing itself in as a parameter, thereby creating the nested structure I require that nicely reflect the object model in memory. The problem I have is with the line List<object> listObjects = (aInfo.GetValue(anObject,null) as List<object>); The cast doesn't work and it just returns null. While debugging I changed the line to object temp = aInfo.GetValue(anObject,null); slapped a breakpoint on it to see what "GetValue" was returning. It returns a "Generic list of objects" Surely I should be able to cast that? The annoying thing is that temp becomes a generic list of objects but because i declared temp as a singular object, I can't loop through it because it has no Enumerator. How can I loop through a list of objects when I only have it as a propertyInfo of a class? I know at this point I will only be saving a list of empty strings out anyway, but thats fine. I would be happy to see the structure save out for now. Thanks in advance

  Hello, everyone! I had already many problems with understanding, how ambiguous tokens can be handled elegantly (or somehow at all) in JavaCC. Let's take this example: I want to parse XML processing instruction. The format is: "<?" <target> <data> "?>": target is an XML name, data can be anything except ?>, because it's the closing tag. Thank you, JavaCC! I know, that I could use the MORE keyword of JavaCC, but this would give me the whole processing instruction as one token, so I'd had to parse/tokenize it further by myself. Why should I do that? Am I writing a parser that does not parse? What I would need is telling JavaCC to recognize "everything until ?>" as processing instruction data. How can it be done? Thank you.

Now on the TextView this one is triggered correctly, and on all empty area. Just on the Button it doesn't invoke the onClick method that I set. Is this normal? What do I have to do so that the onClick method is invoked everywhere on the LinearLayout?

  Hi, I have a question for which I'm sure there must a simple solution. I'm writing a small GWT application where I want to achieve this: www.domain.com : should serve the welcome page www.domain.com/xyz : should serve page xyz, where xyz is just a key for an item in a database. If there is an item associated with key xyz, I'll load that and show a page, otherwise I'll show a 404 error page. I was trying to modify the web.xml file accordingly but I just couldn't make it work. I could make it work with an url-pattern if the key in question is after another /, for example: www.domain.com/search/xyz. However, I'd like to have the key xyz directly following the root / (http://www.domain.com/xyz). Something like <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>main</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> doesn't seem to work as I don't know how to address the main page index.html (as it's not an actual servlet) which will then load my main GWT module. I could make it work with a bad work around (see below): Redirecting a 404 exception to index.html and then doing the look up in the main entry point, but I'm sure that's not the best practice, also for SEO purposes. Can anyone give me a hint on how to configure the web.xml with GWT for my purpose? Thanks a lot.   I have a simple structured XML file like this: <ttest ID="ttest00001", NickName="map00001"/> <ttest ID="ttest00002", NickName="map00002"/> <ttest ID="ttest00003", NickName="map00003"/> <ttest ID="ttest00004", NickName="map00004"/> ..... This xml file can be around 2.5MB. In my source code I will have a loop to get nicknames In each loop, I have something like this: nickNameLoopNum = MyXmlDoc.SelectSingleNode("//ttest[@ID=' + testloopNum + "']").Attributes["NickName"].Value This single line will cost me 30 to 40 millisecond. I searched some old articles (dated back to 2002) saying, use some sort of compiled "xpath" can help the situation, but that was 5 years ago. I wonder is there a mordern practice to make it faster? (I'm using .NET 3.5)

  I'm trying to use jaxb and want to use the 'XmlAccessType.PROPERTY' to let jaxb use getters/setters rather than variable directly, but get different errors depending on what I try, or the variable isn't set at all like I want. Any good link or pointer to a simple example? • How do I load the Oracle schema into memory instead of the hard drive?

  I have a certain web application that makes upwards of ~100 updates to an Oracle database in succession. This can take anywhere from 3-5 minutes, which sometimes causes the webpage to time out. A re-design of the application is scheduled soon but someone told me that there is a way to configure a "loader file" which loads the schema into memory and runs the transactions there instead of on the hard drive, supposedly improving speed by several orders of magnitude. I have tried to research this "loader file" but all I can find is information about the SQL* bulk data loader. Does anyone know what he's talking about? Is this really possible and is it a feasible quick fix or should I just wait until the application is re-designed?

  My xml document reflects an Object. as referential Recursion is possible in objects and arrays. I need to reflect that in reproduced XML Structure too. Currently I am using Unique IDs to identify each node separately and a node like <recursion refer="IDREF"> and specifying the ID of the referenced Element. But in This way I need My Own Custom XPath resolver cause I want to let the users go deeper into the recursive node through the Identifying IDREF (Hope I am able to make you understand). So is there any better/liteweight solution ?? might be XPointer or XLink (I am not sure). Any help ??

• [PHP] DOMDocument load on a page returning 400 Bad Request status

  Hiya, I'm trying to use the Last.fm API for an application I'm creating, but am having some problems with validation. If an API request gives an error it returns a code and message in the response XML like this: <lfm status="failed"> <error code="6">No user with that name</error> </lfm> However, the request also returns an HTTP status of 400 (or in some cases 403) which DOMDocument considers an error and so then refuses to parse the XML. Is there any way round this, so that I can retrieve the error code and message? Thanks Pete

It seems that the line $XmlArray = new SimpleXMLElement($XmlStr); is not doing what I expect it to. Any help on how to get the nodes from the XML above would be very welcome. Obviously getting it to work (having a working example) is what I need in the short term, but if someone could help me understand what I am doing wrong would be better in the long term. Cheers. Stu

  Hello, Im followed the tutorial from here: Twitter Client Tutorial to make a little twitter app. Now I need to find out how to parse the XML twitter gives you when you make a request. I've looked at tons of tutorials on phrasing xml on the iPhone but none have made much sense because Im still new to cocoa. Twitter stores the text of the tweet in something like this <text> Some tweet here </text>. From reading the tutorials I think this would involve nsxmlparser but I'm not sure. If anyone could share some code that could parse the <text> Some tweet here </text> things into an array that would be really great. Thanks in advance

• Searching a set of data with multiple terms using Linq

  I'm in the process of moving from ADO.NET to Linq. The application is a directory search program to look people up. The users are allowed to type the search criteria into a single textbox. They can separate each term with a space, or wrap a phrase in quotes such as "park place" to indicate that it is one term. Behind the scenes the data comes from a XML file that has about 90,000 records in it and is about 65 megs. I load the data into a DataTable and then use the .Select method with a SQL query to perform the searches. The query I pass is built from the search terms the user passed. I split the string from the textbox into an array using a regular expression that will split everything into a separate element that has a space in it. However if there are quotes around a phrase, that becomes it's own element in the array. I then end up with a single dimension array with x number of elements, which I iterate over to build a long query. I then build the search expression below: query = query & _ "((userid LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(nickname LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(lastname LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(firstname LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(department LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(telephoneNumber LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(email LIKE '" & tempstr & "%') OR " & _ "(Office LIKE '" & tempstr & "%'))" Each term will have a set of the above query. If there is more than one term, I put an AND in between, and build another query like above with the next term. I'm not sure how to do this in Linq. So far, I've got the XML file loading correctly. I'm able to search it with specific criteria, but I'm not sure how to best implement the search over multiple terms. 'this works but far too simple to get the job done Dim results = From c In m_DataSet...<Users> _ Where c.<userid>.Value = "XXXX" _ Select c The above code also doesn't use the LIKE operator either. So partial matches don't work. It looks like what I'd want to use is the .Startswith but that appears to be only in Linq2SQL. Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm new to Linq, so I might be missing a simple way to do this. • FrameworkFolders support for WebCenter Portal

  Oracle WebCenter Content Server includes components that provide a hierarchical folder interface, similar to a conventional file system, for organizing and managing some or all of the content in the repository. We used Contribution Folders (folders_g) which is being replaced by the new Folders (FrameworkFolders) component. The newer FrameworkFolders component fixes a number of limitations that folders_g had and adds a ton of new features. If you have played with the WebCenter Content mobile app, you will notice that it uses FrameworkFolders too. WebCenter Portal requires the use of the folders_g component. Given the fact that folders_g and FrameworkFolders component do not go well together and must never be enabled together on any system, you could never use the new features if you planned to use integrate Content with Portal. I still remember presenting a demo with a colleague for a client and he was showing off the mobile capabilities in Portal (which are pretty impressive by the way) and was getting all the glory; while I was sitting back wanting to show off the Content app but could not (no FrameworkFolders). Not any more; Oracle has released bundle patches for both WebCenter Content and Portal in April 2014 which bring home the support for FrameworkFolders. These patches will bring these products to version 11.1.1.8.3. You can enable support for FrameworkFolders on new Content and Portal installations where the folders_g component has never been enabled using the following patches: Download and apply the WebCenter Content MLR03 patch 18088049. Download and apply the WebCenter Portal BP3 patch 18085041. Download and apply the WebCenterConfigure component patch 18387955. Before applying this patch on the Content Server ensure that WebCenter Content MLR03 patch 18088049 has already been applied. You can find detailed instructions on how to enable FrameworkFolders support in the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle WebCenter Portal 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.3). There may be another bundle patches release (version 11.1.1.8.4) for many FMW products (including WebCenter Portal) in July 2014 which could further enhance the FrameworkFolders support.

• xsl key - multiple levels for an element

  My previous post was not very meaningful. reposting here. What i am looking for is the QueueManager element, under SORRegion name="default"(which is the parent), within inan.xml. I have used xsl key.   Trying to insert a large audio file into an Oracle 10g database and keep getting this error: ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested The byte array length of the audio file is 2702577.
