• F# PowerPack 2.0.0.0 issue: The task ..."…\fslex.exe" is invalid

  I have upgraded F# PowerPack today to the latest 2.0.0.0 and tried to rebuild the MiniCalc sample from here: http://achrissmith.blogspot.com/2010/04/fslex-and-fsyacc-examples-updated.html If I build it in VS 2010 it fails with the message: C:\Program Files\MSBuild\FSharp\1.0\FSharp.PowerPack.targets(32,3): error MSB6004: The specified task executable location "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\fslex.exe" is invalid. If I build it from the command line by MSBuild it complains about missing C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\fslex.exe The problem is kind of “fixed” if I copy fslex and fsyacc to that both directories, so after that I can build from the command line and from VS 2010. But it does not look like a right way to solve the problem. What is the right way? EDIT: The same issue is true for the PowerPack sample from sources: May2010\workyard\tests\LexAndYaccMiniProject. Now (after the trick I have done) it is built fine, too.

• Paging through records (json data) using jQuery...

  I have a JSON result that contains numerous records. I'd like to show the first five records in one page and create pager links which have to move to that page with five record so on. I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping for a combination of JavaScript and jQuery. • How can I define a clojure type that implements the servlet interface?

  I'm attempting to use deftype (from the bleeding-edge clojure 1.2 branch) to create a java class that implements the java Servlet interface. I would expect the code below to compile (even though it's not very useful). (ns foo [:import [javax.servlet Servlet ServletRequest ServletResponse]]) (deftype servlet [] javax.servlet.Servlet (service [this #^javax.servlet.ServletRequest request #^javax.servlet.ServletResponse response] nil)) But it doesn't compile. The compiler produces the message: Mismatched return type: service, expected: void, had: java.lang.Object [Thrown class java.lang.IllegalArgumentException] Which doesn't make sense to me, because I'm returning nil. So the fact that the return type of the method is void shouldn't be a problem. For instance, for the java.util.Set interface: (deftype bar [#^Number n] java.util.Set (clear [this] nil)) compiles without issue. So what am I doing wrong with the Servlet interface? To be clear: I know that the typical case is to subclass one of the servlet abstract classes rather than implement this interface directly, but it should still be possible to do this. • Resgen al.exe generated resources do not work within .net library

  Hi, I am currently working on a library in .Net and I planned to make the strings that are used within the library into culture specific resource files. I made Resources.resx, Resources.en-US.resx and Resources.ja-JP.resx file. I also deleted the Resources.designer.cs file autogenerated by visual studio 2008. I am loading Resources through my custom ResourceManager object [using GetString method]. The problem that I am facing is that when I compile the library within visual studio and set the culture from the calling application, everything is working fine. But if I manually go to the directory and change a string for a culture and regenerate the satellite assembly with resgen and al.exe, the string displayed, falls back to the invariant culture. • UITableViewCell with UITableViewCellStyleValue1, adding new line to detailTextLabel at cell at botto

  on my tableview i have the last cell that is not initially visible as seen in the first image, when i scroll the list up, you can see in the second image that the price or my detailTextLabel is put on a new line not maintaining the right justification. • Where is my object allocation and memory leak in this iPhone/objective C code?

  Hello, I'm still a rookie when it comes to this programming gig and was wondering if someone could help me smooth out this code. Functionally, the code works great and does what I need it to do. • Getting uninitialized constant error when trying to run tests

  I just updated all my gems and I'm finding that I'm getting errors when trying to run Test::Unit tests. I'm getting the error copied below. That comes from creating new, empty Rails project, scaffolding a simple model, and running rake test. Tried Googling "uninitialized constant" and TestResultFailureSupport. The only thing I found was this bug report from 2007. I'm using OS X. • Strange crashes when using MPMoviePlayerController in iPad and iPad simulator with iOS 4.2.

  I'm getting crashes when trying to play a movie using MPMoviePlayerController on the iPad and in the iPad simulator using iOS 4.2. I am building using xcode 3.2.5 and the 4.2 SDK. When running on an iPad using iOS 3.2 or in the iPad simulator 3.2, the same code works fine, but on an iPad running 4.2 or in the iPad simulator 4.2, it crashes. The crash is due to an exception for calling an unknown selector down somewhere deep in the cocoa libraries, something tries to call a selector called "setHitRectInsets:" on a UIButton object. Also, the crash happens after control has returned to the main event loop. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this?   Hey. I have a very simple text output to buffer system which will crash randomly. It will be fine for DAYS, then sometimes it'll crash a few times in a few minutes. Apparently it happens to other people. I can say that my NSString* is perfectly fine at the time of the crash. • UITableViewCell rounded corners and clip subviews

  I can't find anything anywhere(search engines, docs, here, etc) that shows how to create rounded corners (esp. in a grouped table view) on an element that also clips the subviews. I have code that properly creates a rounded rectangle out of a path with 4 arcs(the rounded corners) that has been tested in the drawRect: method in my subclassed uitableviewcell. The issue is that the subviews, which happen to be uibuttons with their internal uiimageviews, do no obey the CGContextClip() that the uitableviewcell obeys. • webserver horrible slow, sometimes incredible fast

  i am running a small community ( 6000+ Members ) on a non-virtual 64-bit ubuntu 11.04 system. I am not a Linux-pro, not even advanced, i just tried to setup a webserver, which does nothing special actually. Delivering some dynamic PHP and RoR websites is its task. So it might be that my configuration files do look horrible bad. Also, i might use the wrong vocabulary, so in doubt, please ask. Having a current all-time record of 520 registered users (board-accounts, no system-users) online at same time, average server-load is about 2.0 - 5.0. Meantime (~250 users) average server load value is at about 0.4 - 0.8, sometimes, on some expensive searches a bit higher. everything fine. From time to time however, the load increases up to 120 (120.0, not 12.0 ;) ). In this time, its hard to even connect via SSH, but when i reach the server, and use top/htop/iotop to see whats happening, i cannot identify any process causing high CPU load. iotop tells me about a current reading/writing speed of about approx. 70kb/s, which is quite equal to power-off i think. Memory-Usage is max. at ~ 12GB of 16GB, so swap remains empty. now the odd (at least for me:) waiting some minutes ( since i always get a bit into a panic when this happens, it feels like 5 minutes, but i suppose its more like 20-30 minutes) and the server is back to normal. everything continues as normal. another odd fact: when i run hdparm -tT /dev/sda, i get answer like: /dev/sda: Timing cached reads: 7180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3591.13 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 348 MB in 3.02 seconds = 115.41 MB/sec when i run the same command while the server is "frozen", the answer is like /dev/sda: <- takes about 5 minutes until this line appears Timing cached reads: 7180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3591.13 MB/sec <- 5 more minutes Timing buffered disk reads: 348 MB in 3.02 seconds = 115.41 MB/sec <- another 5 minutes so the values are the same, but the quoted time is completely wrong. using time command as prefix also tells me that ~ 15 minutes were used. I searched in dmesg, /var/log/[messages|syslog] - nothing found. /var/log/errors however tells me that: Jul 4 20:28:30 localhost kernel: [19080.671415] INFO: task php5-fpm:27728 blocked for more than 120 seconds. Jul 4 20:28:30 localhost kernel: [19080.671419] "echo 0 /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. multiple times. now that message does tell me that php5-fpm task was blocked or did block ? - but not if that is the cause or just one of the results of that "freeze". Anyone? to cut the long story short, i dont know where even to start analyzing. So if you can give me any advice by looking at following specs and configs, or ask me to provide more information, i`d be glad. Mini-Note: sometimes i notice that the forum is pretty slow, in contrast to the always-fast (except for this "freeze") portal. Both share the same Database, but the portal is using it read-only. The Webserver is nginx, using phusion passenger module to communicate with the ruby-application. One additional Fact: my MYSQL-database is at 12GB size. i dont know if that does matter, but mytop sometimes shows me 4-5 seconds long insert queries, some are 20-30 seconds long. Its just a feeling that i am unable to prove (because i dont know how), but when i disable the database, the freeze seems not to happen. I currently feel like running form bad to worse and back by googling for my server-problem due to immense lack of knowledge regarding server configurations. It still makes me wonder, why those problems even appear, since 250 users a time is not such a high amount, right? So my questions: whats wrong and how to fix? ;) or: what information can i provide to make the situation more clear? can you point at some critical bad configuration-line which i should consider to catch up in the documentation? are there any tools i can run to see some possible bottlenecks? any further advice? I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping a combination of JavaScript and jQuery... • What AMF Servers Support Remote Shared Objects?

  Greetings. I'm planning on building a Flex based multiplayer game, and I'm researching what will be required for the server end. I have PHP experience, so I started looking at ZendAMF. Now in this game, I'll need the concept of rooms, and real time updates to clients in those rooms, so it looks like I'll be using remote shared objects (correct, yes?). I'm not seeing where ZendAMF can support this. So I found this page: http://arunbluebrain.wordpress.com/2009/03/04/flex-frameworks-httpcorlanorg/ It seems to indicate that ZendAMF isn't going to do what I want. WebORB for PHP seems to be the only PHP based solution that does messaging, but on that page it doesn't mention "real-time" next to it like the Java based ones below it do. What should I be looking at for the server piece with my requirements? Do I need to make the jump to something like BlazeDS and try to pick up a bit of Java knowledge? Thanks.
