  • Windows 7 laptop with two active network connections will not perform DNS AAAA lookup under certain conditions

    My laptop has two network interfaces. The Ethernet interface connects directly to my provider's edge router. It obtains an IPv6 address via SLAAC. I manually set an IPv6 DNS server. The wireless interface connects to a CPE router that doesn't understand IPv6. If the wireless interface is disabled, I can reach the IPv6 Internet with no problems using the Ethernet interface. I run into problems when both interfaces are enabled and the wireless interface get its IPv4 DNS server via DHCP. Let's look at two scenarios. Wireless interface obtains IPv4 DNS server via DHCP - The CPE router (192.168.0.1) sends its address as the DNS server. In this scenario, Windows 7 will not perform AAAA lookups. The browser uses IPv4 transit to reach dual stack web sites. I can't reach IPv6-only web sites using domain names. I can reach IPv6-enabled web sites using IPv6 literals instead of the domain name. Wireless interface is manually configured with OpenDNS DNS server - Windows 7 performs AAAA lookups using IPv6 transit (via the Ethernet). Everything works fine. My dual homed set-up is definitely not standard. Still, the behavior is very strange to me. A valid IPv6 interface exists in my Ethernet interface. Why won't Windows attempt AAAA lookups in scenario #1? I've included the output of ipconfig /all and netstat -rn.     I been trying to use mod_proxy with httpd and tomcat... I have on VirtualBox running Scientific Linux which has httpd and tomcat 6 on it.. I made two nodes of tomcat6.     I use Spring Security with Spring Framework 3 and when I tyr to login from homepage I get following error: 2010-04-26 12:16:39,525 [tomcat-http--2] WARN org.springframework.web.servlet.PageNotFound - No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/AppName/app/j_spring_security_check] in DispatcherServlet with name 'Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet' Spring Security is initialized as loggings tell and there are no errors. So what could be reason for this error? I have understood that j_spring_security_check is default url for Spring Security login chekeing servlet.

    the iframe version of likebox is by default over http. the developer wiki on facebook says on Using the Like Box with SSL I should load the FacebookConnect script over https , I don't what the FacebookConnect script only the iframe. I found that calling https://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?#ALLMYPARAMETERS# works and doesn't break the ssl even though this is not in their wiki since this not in their wiki, will it be deprecated? or can i trust on this to work for an extended while

  • Unable to mute the microphone in Android

    Hi, I'm working on an app that uses AudioRecord class to get input data from the phone mic. For some reason I'm unable to mute the mic. I have tried with different AudioSources (DEFAULT, MIC and VOICE_UPLINK) when creating the AudioRecord object, but there's no difference in the muting behaviour. The muting itself, I'm trying to achieve with AudioManager#setMicrophoneMute() method. Any ideas? Thanks.

We want to use WPF and I wanted to learn all of the modern UI design techniques available. Since I am fairly new to WPF I have been researching what is available. I think I have pretty much settled on using MVVM Light Toolkit (mainly because of its "Blendability" and the EventToCommand behavior!), but I wanted to incorporate IoC also.     I'm connecting to a vendor-supplied web ASMX service and sending a set of data over the wire. My first attempt hit the 1 minute timeout that Visual Studio throws in by default in the app.config file when you add a service reference to a project. I increased it to 10 minutes, another timeout. 1 hour, another timeout: Error: System.TimeoutException: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:59:59.6874880. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. ---> System.TimeoutE xception: The HTTP request to 'http://servername/servicename.asmx' has exceeded the allotted timeout of 01:00:00. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. ---> System.Net.WebExcept ion: The operation has timed out at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() [... lengthly stacktrace follows] I contacted the vendor. They confirmed the call may take over an hour (don't ask, they are the bane of my existence.) I increased the timeout to 10 hours to be on the safe side. However the web service call continues to time out at 1 hour. Unfortunately every change takes at least an additional hour to test. Is there some internal limit that I'm bumping into - another timeout setting to be changed somewhere?   • Visual Studio 2008: Start custom build target via project/solution context menu - without add-in

    I have a custom build target in a visual studio 2008 c# project. Is there a simple way to add a context menu item to the project, so that the custom build target can be executed via the ide? The build target is not integrated into the default build process and has to be started by hand. This step should be simple for all developers and should not force them to execute msbuild from the command line. Any hint for a simple, working solution? regards, Achim
