  • CSS - How to create a table cell with a two-colour background?

    - by Chris
    Hi, I'm trying to create an HTML table cell with a two-tone background; so I have normal text on a background which is yellow on the left, and green on the right. The closest I've got so far is as follows. The background is correctly half-and-half, but the content text is displaced below it. <html> <head> <style type='text/css'> td.green { background-color: green; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; height:100%; text-align:center } div.yellow { position:relative; width: 50%; height: 100%; background-color:yellow } </style> </head> <body style="width: 100%"> <table style="width: 25%"> <tr style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px"> <td class="green"> <div class="yellow"></div> <div class="content">Hello</div> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> How can I fix this up?

  • In R, how to get powers of ten in bold font in a plot label?

    - by wfoolhill
    I want to have "10^4 points" in bold as my x-axis label. I know how to make a simple label in bold: plot(1:10, xlab="") mtext(text="10 points", side=1, font=2, line=3) Thanks to this answer, I know how to make a label with a power of ten but nothing is in bold: mtext(text=expression(paste(10^4, " points")), side=1, font=2, line=3) Thanks to this answer, I also know how to make a label with a Greek letter in bold: mtext(text=expression(bold(paste(beta, "=", 10^1, " points"))), side=1, line=3) But still the power of ten is not in bold! It doesn't work either with bquote: mtext(text=bquote(bold(10^1~points)), side=1, line=3) Any idea? Here are some details about my system. • Console in VS 2012 Express for C++?

    - by Live2Code
    I'm very new to programming, so be nice. I was using Eclipse for C/C++ devs for a while, but it seemed quite buggy so I was advised to switch to Visual Studio Express. I'm just testing out with a simple "Hello World" program #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; int main( int argc, char ** argv ) { string response; cout << "Gimme a string: " << flush; cin >> response; cout << "The string is: " << response << endl; system("pause"); return 0; } not much to go wrong there anyway, I noticed that there is no "console" like in Eclipse. All of the text pops up in a little command prompt window. And, also, this window closes right after displaying new text if there is no other things to do after it (like a cin). I have been told that I can use system("pause") but there has to be a better way. In Eclipse, the text would not suddenly disappear because the console window closed. i know this question might be a little confusing, comment and I'll try to explain what I'm saying. Or paste the codes into your Visual Studio 2012 Express Edition. But is there a way to display all of my text and whatever in a "console" as opposed to a command prompt-type window; and why does it always close before I can read the last thing?

  • Why doesn't this external JavaScript load?

    I've been futzing with this for hours trying to figure out why codemirror.js won't load in any browser other than Firefox. • webBrower Button Click without element ID?

    - by Jeremy
    I'm working on a login system for a forum and trying to make it work via a c# .net form. I need to programitically click the login button on the forum with a webBrower control. So far I have this. webPage page = new webPage(); page.URL = txtURL.Text; page.Load(); //Load the text from the specified URL WebBrowser browser = new WebBrowser(); browser.Document.GetElementById("navbar_username").SetAttribute("value", textBox1.Text); browser.Document.GetElementById("navbar_password").SetAttribute("value", textBox2.Text); HtmlElement el = browser.Document.All["btnI"]; if (el != null) { el.InvokeMember("click"); } else { MessageBox.Show("There is an issue with the program"); } The issue is that the login button on the page does not have an ID or any real information that can allow me to click on it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here is the code for the login button. <input type="image" src="images/loginbutton.png" class="loginbutton" tabindex="104" value="Log in" title="Enter your username and password in the boxes provided to login, or click the 'register' button to create a profile for yourself." accesskey="s">

  • Could someone explain gtk2hs drag and drop to me, the listDND.hs demo just isn't doing it for me?

    - by Tom Carstens
    As the title says, I just don't get DND (or rather I understand the concept and I understand the order of callbacks, I just don't understand how to setup DND for actual usage.) I'd like to say that I've done DND stuff before in C, but considering I never really got that working... So I'm trying (and mostly succeeding, save DND) to write a text editor (using gtksourceview, because it has built in code highlighting.) Reasons are below if you want them. Anyways, there's not really a good DND demo or tutorial available for gtk2hs (listDND.hs just doesn't translate well in my head.) So what I'm asking is for code that demonstrates simple DND on a window widget (for example.) Ideally, it should accept drops from other windows (such as Thunar) and print out the information in string form. I think I can take it from there... Reasons: I'm running a fairly light weight setup, dwm and a few gtk+2 programs. I really don't want to have to pull in gtk+3 to get the current gedit from the repos (Arch Linux.) Currently, I'm using geany for all of my text editing needs, however, geany is a bit heavy for editing config files. Further, geany doesn't care for my terminal of choice (st;) so I don't even get the benefit of using it as an IDE. Meaning I'd like a lightweight text editor with syntax highlighting. I could configure emacs or vim or something, but that seems to me to be more of a hack then a proper solution. Thus my project was born. It's mostly working (aside from DND, all that's left is proper multi-tab support.) Admittedly, I could probably work this out if I wrote it in C, but there isn't that much state in a text editor so Haskell's been working fine with almost no need for mutable variables.

  • Obtaining FontMetrics before getting a Graphics instance

    - by Tom Castle
    Typically, I'd obtain a graphics instance something like this: BufferedImage img = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); Graphics2D g = img.createGraphics(); However, in the current project I'm working on, the width and height variables above are dependent upon the size of a number of text fragments that will later be drawn onto the graphics instance. But, to obtain the dimensions of the font being used I would usually use the FontMetrics that I get from the graphics object. FontMetrics metrics = g.getFontMetrics(); So, I have a nasty little dependency cycle. I cannot create the graphics object until I know the size of the text, and I cannot know the size of the text until I have a graphics object. One solution is just to create another BufferedImage/Graphics pair first in order to get the FontMetrics instance I need, but this seems unnecessary. So, is there a nicer way? Or is it the case that the width, height etc. properties for a Font are somehow dependent upon what (graphics, component...) the text is to be drawn on?

  • Filtering a select list via input box & jquery

    - by zSysop
    Hi all, I was wondering if i could get some help with filtering a select list using an input box via jquery. Here's what my js looks like, but it doesnt seem to work. I'm guessing this is because options within a select list are not hide-able. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#inputFilter").change(function() { var filter = $(this).val(); $("#selectList option").each(function() { var match = $(this).text().search(new RegExp(filter, "i")); if (match > 0) { $(this).show(); // Does not work } else $(this).hide(); }); }); }); </script> and here's my html <input id="inputFilter" /> <select id="selectList"> <option value="1111" text="1111 - London" /> <option value="1112" text="1111 - Paris" /> </select>

  • How can I stop the browser viewport moving to the top of the page when the user clicks on a jQueryUI radio button?

    - by ben
    I have got some radio buttons setup like this: <div id="typeRadios"> <input id="note_notetype_note1" name="note[notetype]" type="radio" value="note1" /><label for="note_notetype_note1">note1</label> <input id="note_notetype_note2" name="note[notetype]" type="radio" value="note2" /><label for="note_notetype_note2">note2</label> </div> That I turn into jQueryUI buttons like this: $("#typeRadios").buttonset(); This is the resulting HTML: <input type="radio" value="note1" name="note[notetype]" id="note_notetype_note1" class="ui-helper-hidden-accessible"> <label for="note_notetype_note1" aria-pressed="false" class="ui-button ui-widget ui-state-default ui-button-text-only ui-corner-left" role="button" aria-disabled="false"><span class="ui-button-text">note1</span></label> <input type="radio" value="note2" name="note[notetype]" id="note_notetype_note2" class="ui-helper-hidden-accessible"> <label for="note_notetype_note2" aria-pressed="false" class="ui-button ui-widget ui-state-default ui-button-text-only ui-corner-left" role="button" aria-disabled="false"><span class="ui-button-text">note2</span></label> The buttons work, but whenever I click one, the browser view-port gets returned to the top of the page, the same way it happens when you click on a <a href="#">link</a> link. I am using jQuery 1.4.2 and jQueryUI 1.8.7. How can I prevent this behaviour? Thanks for reading. EDIT: The <a href="#">link</a> part was missing.

  • Making a button click and process using javascript with Asp.Net

    - by user944919
    I'm having two buttons and one button is hidden. Now when I click the visible button I need to do two things 1.Open Iframe. 2.Automatically make the 2nd Button(Hidden)to be clicked. When the second button is clicked I need to display the message on top of the IFrame which I have mentioned as function showStickySuccessToast() Now I am able to open IFrame but I'm unable to make the Hidden button clicked automatically. This is what I'm having: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#<%=Button1.ClientID%>").click(function(event){ $('#<%=TextBox1.ClientID%>').change(function () { $('#various3').attr('href', $(this).val()); }); }); function showStickySuccessToast() { $().toastmessage('showToast', { text: 'Finished Processing!', sticky: false, position: 'middle-center', type: 'success', closeText: '', close: function () { } }); } }) </script> Here are my two buttons how I'm working with: <a id="various3" href="#"><asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" OnClientClick="Button2_Click"/></a> <asp:Button ID="Button2" runat="server" Text="Button" Visible="False" OnClick="Button2_Click"/> And in the button2_Click event: Protected Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click System.Web.UI.ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, GetType(Page), "Script", "showStickySuccessToast();", True) End Sub

  • Bootstrap inline button dropdown within <p> jumbotron

    - by C.B.
    Currently I have a jumbotron setup with some paragraph text, and I would like to stick a button dropdown inline with the text. Dropdown button <span class="btn-group"> <button type="button" class="btn btn-default dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown"> Button... <span class="caret"></span> </button> <ul class="dropdown-menu" role="menu"> <li><a href="#">Opt 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">Opt 2</a></li> </ul> </span> Jumbotron <div class="jumbotron"> <h1>Hello!</h1> <p>Welcome</p> <p>Another paragraph <!-- dropdown is here --> </p> </div> <!-- jumbotron --> If the dropdown is within the <p> tag, it does not "dropdown" (but renders). If it is outside of the <p> tag it functions fine, but I would like it to be inline with the text and need the text to be in the <p> tag to get the style. Any ideas? Things to note -- If I replace the <span> tags with <div> tags, it will work fine within the <p> tags, but won't be inline.

  • Flash AS3: How to Make scroll bar react to dynamic textfield movement?

    - by HeroicNate
    I've been looking for a tutorial and answer to this for a while but can't find what I'm looking for. I am loading html text into a dynamic textfield, and I have a scrollbar controlling the scroll using the code below. What I want to do is also add scroll up/down buttons and have the scroll bar move in relation to the text scroll. I was just going to use "tracklistingtext.scrollV -- " for the scroll buttons, but right now the scroll bar doesn't recognize the text movement. What do I need to do to get the scroll bar to listen to the text scroll position? var listTextreq:URLRequest=new URLRequest("tracklist.txt"); var listTextLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); var bounds:Rectangle=new Rectangle(scrollMC.x,scrollMC.y,0,300); var scrolling:Boolean=false; function fileLoaded(event:Event):void { tracklistingtext.htmlText=listTextLoader.data; tracklistingtext.multiline=true; tracklistingtext.wordWrap=true; scrollMC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, startScroll); stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, stopScroll); addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterHandler); } listTextLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, fileLoaded); listTextLoader.load(listTextreq); function startScroll(e:Event):void { scrolling=true; scrollMC.startDrag(false,bounds); } function stopScroll(e:Event):void { scrolling=false; scrollMC.stopDrag(); } function enterHandler (e:Event):void { if (scrolling == true) { tracklistingtext.scrollV = Math.round(((scrollMC.y - bounds.y)/300)*tracklistingtext.maxScrollV); } } Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • The "correct" way of using multilingual support

    - by Felipe Athayde
    I just began working with ASP.NET and I'm trying to bring with me some coding standards I find healthy. Among such standards there is the multilingual support and the use of resources for easily handling future changes. Back when I used to code desktop applications, every text had to be translated, so it was a common practice to have the language files for every languages I would want to offer to the customers. In those files I would map every single text, from button labels to error messages. In ASP.NET, with the help of Visual Studio, I have the resort of using the IDE to generate such Resource Files (from Tools - Generate Local Resource), but then I would have to fill my webpages with labels - at least that is what I've learned from articles and tutorials. However, such approach looks a bit odd and I'm tempted to guess it doesn't smell that good as well. Now to the question: 1) Should I keep every single text in my website as labels and manage its contents in the resource files? It looks/feels odd specially when considering a text with several paragraphs. 2) Whenever I add/remove something, e.g.: a button, to an aspx file I would have to add it to the resource file as well, because generating the resource file again would simply override all my previous changes to it. That doesn't feel like a reusable code at all for me. Any comment suggestion on this one? Perhaps I got it all wrong from tutorials as it doesn't seem like a standardized matter - specially if it required recompiling the entire application whenever some change has to be done.

  • Where do you put your dependencies?

    - by The All Foo
    If I use the dependency injection pattern to remove dependencies they end up some where else. For example, Snippet 1, or what I call Object Maker. I mean you have to instantiate your objects somewhere...so when you move dependency out of one object, you end up putting it another one. I see that this consolidates all my dependencies into one object. Is that the point, to reduce your dependencies so that they all reside in a single ( as close to as possible ) location? Snippet 1 - Object Maker <?php class ObjectMaker { public function makeSignUp() { $DatabaseObject = new Database(); $TextObject = new Text(); $MessageObject = new Message(); $SignUpObject = new ControlSignUp(); $SignUpObject->setObjects($DatabaseObject, $TextObject, $MessageObject); return $SignUpObject; } public function makeSignIn() { $DatabaseObject = new Database(); $TextObject = new Text(); $MessageObject = new Message(); $SignInObject = new ControlSignIn(); $SignInObject->setObjects($DatabaseObject, $TextObject, $MessageObject); return $SignInObject; } public function makeTweet( $DatabaseObject = NULL, $TextObject = NULL, $MessageObject = NULL ) { if( $DatabaseObject == 'small' ) { $DatabaseObject = new Database(); } else if( $DatabaseObject == NULL ) { $DatabaseObject = new Database(); $TextObject = new Text(); $MessageObject = new Message(); } $TweetObject = new ControlTweet(); $TweetObject->setObjects($DatabaseObject, $TextObject, $MessageObject); return $TweetObject; } public function makeBookmark( $DatabaseObject = NULL, $TextObject = NULL, $MessageObject = NULL ) { if( $DatabaseObject == 'small' ) { $DatabaseObject = new Database(); } else if( $DatabaseObject == NULL ) { $DatabaseObject = new Database(); $TextObject = new Text(); $MessageObject = new Message(); } $BookmarkObject = new ControlBookmark(); $BookmarkObject->setObjects($DatabaseObject,$TextObject,$MessageObject); return $BookmarkObject; } }

  • Is there any PDF parser written in objective-c or c?

    - by user549683
    I'm writing a pdf reader iPhone application. I know how to show pdf file in view using CGPDF** classes in iOS. What I want to do now is to search text in pdf file, and highlight the searched text. So, I need a library which can detect what text is in what position. Besides, I want the library able to handle unicode and Chinese characters. I've searched for a few days but still cannot find anything suitable. I've tried xpdf, but it is written in c++. I don't know how to use c++ code in iPhone app. I've also tried http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cpp/ExtractPDFText.aspx but it does not handle Chinese characters. I've tried to code by myself, but the encoding in PDF is really complicated. For example, I don't know what to refer to when I want to decode the text by the following font: 8 0 obj << /Type /Font /Subtype /Type0 /Encoding /Identity-H /BaseFont /RNXJTV+PMingLiU /DescendantFonts [ 157 0 R ] >> endobj 157 0 obj << /Type /Font /Subtype /CIDFontType2 /BaseFont /RNXJTV+PMingLiU /CIDSystemInfo << /Registry (Adobe) /Ordering (CNS1) /Supplement 0 >> /FontDescriptor 158 0 R /W 161 0 R /DW 1000 /CIDToGIDMap 162 0 R >> endobj 158 0 obj << /Type /FontDescriptor /Ascent 801 /CapHeight 711 /Descent -199 /Flags 32 /FontBBox [0 -199 999 801] /FontName /RNXJTV+PMingLiU /ItalicAngle 0 /StemV 0 /Leading 199 /MaxWidth 1000 /XHeight 533 /FontFile2 159 0 R >> endobj

  • Show iPad keyboard on select, focus or always (jQuery)

However, I can't find any documentation on how to interpret the return values. Here's the body structure that IMAP server returns 16:12.679978 < FLAGS (NotJunk $NotJunk \Seen) BODYSTRUCTURE ((("TEXT" "PLAIN" ("CHARSET" "us-ascii") NIL NIL "QUOTED-PRINTABLE" 4888 170 NIL NIL NIL)("TEXT" "HTML" ("CHARSET" "us-ascii") NIL NIL "QUOTED-PRINTABLE" 32407 479 NIL NIL NIL) "ALTERNATIVE" ("BOUNDARY" "Apple-Mail=_3AAA7CD7-3B07-406A-83CB-2C7762C3306E") NIL NIL)("APPLICATION" "PKCS7-SIGNATURE" ("NAME" "smime.p7s") NIL NIL "BASE64" 2414 NIL ("ATTACHMENT" ("FILENAME" "smime.p7s")) NIL) "SIGNED" ("BOUNDARY" "Apple-Mail=_DF4FE6BB-F796-46D7-A593-9723F4315DD2" "MICALG" "sha1" "PROTOCOL" "application/pkcs7-signature") NIL NIL)) Here's the same body structure parsed to python type. "BODYSTRUCTURE": [ [ [ [ "TEXT", "PLAIN", [ "CHARSET", "us-ascii" ], null, null, "QUOTED-PRINTABLE", 4888, 170, null, null, null ], [ "TEXT", "HTML", [ "CHARSET", "us-ascii" ], null, null, "QUOTED-PRINTABLE", 32407, 479, null, null, null ], "ALTERNATIVE", [ "BOUNDARY", "Apple-Mail=_3AAA7CD7-3B07-406A-83CB-2C7762C3306E" ], null, null ], [ "APPLICATION", "PKCS7-SIGNATURE", [ "NAME", "smime.p7s" ], null, null, "BASE64", 2414, null, [ "ATTACHMENT", [ "FILENAME", "smime.p7s" ] ], null ] ], "SIGNED", [ "BOUNDARY", "Apple-Mail=_DF4FE6BB-F796-46D7-A593-9723F4315DD2", "MICALG", "sha1", "PROTOCOL", "application/pkcs7-signature" ], null, null ], The arrays don't seems to be constant length. What each element of the array stand for?

  • PDF (VisPDF component) Problem with DecimalSeparator in Delphi/C++Builder2009

    - by Katsumi
    Hello. I use VisPDF component Delphi/C++Builder 2009 and show text with ShowMessage(FloatToStrF(1.23, ffFixed, 6, 2)); // Output: 1,23 (right!) UnicodeString Text = "Hello world!"; VPDF->CurrentPage->UnicodeTextOutStr( x, y, 0, Text); ShowMessage(FloatToStrF(1.23, ffFixed, 6, 2)); // Output: 1.23 (false!) afer UnicodeTextOutStr() the DecimalSeparator is changed. I have look in VisPDF source and found, that: Abscissa := Angle * Pi / 180; X := XProjection(X) + StrHeight * sin(Abscissa); Y := (YProjection(Y)) - StrHeight * cos(Abscissa); MtxA := cos(Abscissa); MtxB := sin(Abscissa); SetTextMatrix(MtxA, MtxB, -MtxB, MtxA, X, Y); with SetTextMatrix() show up the bug. comment out this line, DecimalSeparator is right, but no text in my pdf. procedure TVPDFPage.SetTextMatrix(a, b, c, d, x, y: Single); var S: AnsiString; begin S := _CutFloat(a) + ' ' + _CutFloat(b) + ' ' + _CutFloat(c) + ' ' + _CutFloat(d) + ' ' + _CutFloat(x) + ' ' + _CutFloat(y) + ' Tm'; SaveToPageStream(S); end; procedure TVPDFPage.SaveToPageStream(ValStr: AnsiString); begin PageContent.Add(string(ValStr)); // PageContent: TStringList; end; I don't understand this function. Can somebody help? VisPDF does not use any DLL or other software to create PDF files. Using VisPDF is very easy and have good examples.

  • My java program seems to be skipping over the try{}, executing the catch{} and then throwing a NullPointerException. What should I do?

    - by Matt Bolopue
    I am writing a program that calculates the number of words, syllables, and sentences in any given text file. I don't need help finding those numbers, however my program (which currently should only find the number of words in the text file) will not import the text file even when I type in the name of the file correctly. The text file is in the same folder as the source code. Instead it tells me every time that what I typed in has the wrong file extension (see my catch{}) and then proceeds to throw a null pointer. I am at a loss for what could be causing it. Any suggestions? import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class Reading_Lvl_Calc { /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub int words = 0; String fileName; Scanner scan; Scanner keyread = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("Please enter a file name (or QUIT to exit)"); fileName = keyread.nextLine(); File doc = new File(fileName); //while(scan.equals(null)){ try { scan = new Scanner(doc); } catch(Exception e) { if(fileName.substring(fileName.indexOf(".")) != ".txt") System.out.println("I'm sorry, the file \"" + fileName + "\" has an invalid file extension."); else System.out.println("I am sorry, the file \"" + fileName + " \" cannot be found.\n The file must be in the same directory as this program"); scan = null; } // } while(scan.hasNext()){ words++; scan.next(); } System.out.println(words); } }
