    I am watching a Flash stream. I can watch the same stream in two different players (set up by someone else), but I don't like any of them. Is there a way I can find/get/extract the direct link to the flash stream that those two players are playing? So that I can watch it using a different player? Edit: The player is streaming an RTMP stream, not an FLV video file.

    How can I make Vista home premium access OS X hard drive? and the other way around? I'd like to transfer files via direct ethernet. Plugging in an ethernet cable makes both computers recognize a network, but not the other device. Each firewall is turned off, but no luck. Edit: I don't see Windows Sharing in the Service Column.

    I feel shy to ask this question, but if I don't I will never know, so here I am giving it a shot: I notice most shell commands use "-" for options, but I also noticed some commands do not have it. For example, to archive files in a given direct, the command is: tar czvf allmyfiles.tar.gz * However, to extract an archive, the command I learned, is: tar -zxvf allmyfiles.tar.gz Looking at both examples above, is there any significance whether to include the hyphen or not?

  • If a server is performing slowly, will ping still appear normal?

    I'm trying to troubleshoot a periodic slow application problem without direct access to the network. There is a server on one network providing webpages to a VLAN on a different network via a DMZ. I'm told that when the pages were loading slowly the user pinged the server and saw an extremely slow response time. My question is, as ping is minimal in network load and a different protocol from the pages, would a slow ping be caused by a slow server, or would it indicate a slow network?

  • What is the overhead when redirect through mod_proxy

    I have an API that used to run on Apache but now is served via lighttpd. I can easily switch the API URL in the app to the lighty port like api.net:81. I wonder if I should use mod_proxy instead to have cleaner urls. There is no redirect for legacy urls necessary. What would be the overhead for the Apache in between compared to the direct call? Would mod_proxy and Apache steal the benefit of lightys lightweightness?

After setting up a few <VirtualHost>s in apache, I'd like to configure the _defualt_ ServerName so that it returns the 404 message. I.e., unless some explicitly available domain is specified in the Host http header, return 404. (Ideally something more direct than pointing to a now-nonexistent directory.) I could consider using a path finding library only if it gives me direct access to underlying graph classes (I need nodes and edges, and classic graph algorithms) The only product I've seen that seems intersting is QuickGraph. I have the following question: Is it possible to use QuickGraph inside Unity3d? If yes. Is this a good idea? Does it have any drawbacks? Is it a quite fast and well written/supported library? Does anyone has ever used it? Are available other C# graph library that can be easily integrated in Unity3d?

    A few days ago the iReport Team announced the new 5.5.0 iReport release. With it comes the latest iReport plugin for NetBeans IDE 7.4. The NetBeans iReport plugin is by FAR the most downloaded plugin on the NetBeans Plugin Portal.
