  Our small business currently has 3 wireless access points around the building, each with their own SSID. Security is done with WEP (ick) and MAC address filtering (double ick). We are trying to reconfigure the setup, with these goals: wifi roaming between the access points user-based authentication that isn't as annoying as MAC address filtering. 1) The entire building is hardwired with ethernet, so I assume it should be easy to set up the routers to act as one big network, but I can't figure out how. Can someone point me in the right direction? The routers are consumer-grade linksys routers, is it possible to do this without getting new hardware? 2) For security, we will probably upgrade to WPA2, and I'm thinking of using the Enterprise version so that users can log in with a username, instead of having a single key (so if an employee leaves or something, their access can be removed). We have several on-site Windows servers, can one of them be set up as a RADIUS server, or is that best left to a dedicated machine (again, using existing hardware is good).

• Adding FTP Users via Simple Control Panel

  I just got setup with CentOS yesterday through GoDaddy, and today I'm trying to get into the server and start setting up some of my projects. I'm able to get in through PuTTY just fine, but I'm not able to connect through FTP with the same (root) account. I'm using Simple Control Panel, and have ensured that "Enable Server" is checked beneathSystem Configuration > FTP. Further, I've checked, and double checked that my root password is correct when providing the FTP details. Is there some other common setting I'm missing here that will prevent me from getting connected to the server to begin transfering files?

• Dispatcher Timer Problem

  I am trying to make a game in silverlight that also has widgets in it. To do this I am using a dispatcher timer running a game loop that updates graphics etc. In this I have a variable that has to be accessed by both by the constantly running game loop and UI event code. At first look it seemed that the gameloop had its own local copy of currentUnit (the variable), despite the variable being declared globally. I am trying to update currentUnit with an event by the widget part of the app, but the timer's version of the variable is not being updated. What can I do get the currentUnit in the gameloop loop to be updated whenever I update currentUnit via a click event? • HTML Form HIdden Fields added with Javascript not POSTing

  I have a form where the user can enter a link, click the "add link" button, and that link is then(via jQuery) added to the form as a hidden field. The problem is it's not POSTing when I submit the form. It's really starting to confound me. The thing is that if I hardcode a hidden field into the form, it is posted, but my function isn't working for some reason. The hidden field DOES get added to my form as I can see with Firebug but it's just not being sent with the POST data. Just to note, I'm using an array in Javascript to hold the elements until the form is submitted which also posts them visibly for the user to see what they've added. I'm using [] notation on the "name" field of the element because I want the links to feed into an array in PHP. Here is the link creation which is being appended to my form: function make_hidden_element_tag(item_type, item_content, item_id) { return '<input type="hidden" name="' + item_type + '[]" id="hidden_link_' + item_id + '" value="' + item_content + '"/>'; Does anyone have an idea why this might not be posting. As stated above, any hard-coded tags that are nearly identical to the above works fine, it's just that this tag isn't working.   Hi, so I have a class that I decleare as a singleton and in that class I have a NSMutableArray that contains some NSDictionaries with some key/value pairs in them. The trouble is it doesn't work and I dont't know why... I mean it crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS but i don't know where.   Hello, i have this little script, which should ping the IPs in the host_to_ping array. This php is called with JS in the index.html. But somethin' wrong, 'coz the $rval is always 1 (which mean the host is unreachable). But i know that the first two host is alive. So i print the $res variable, and i see the message: Need to give the IP. • How to open recovered files in word?

  My computer restarted while I was asleep because of system updates (need to turn that off), and when I opened up Word the first time after it restarted, it gave me a pane on the left hand side that showed me all the documents I had opened. I chose one of the documents but I want to open them all, how can I bring that pane back? Update: I forgot to mention I'm on Word 2007. I've found that if you go to C:\Users*YOURUSER*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word you can see the autorecovery files. Mine are still in there, but I don't want to touch them, I'd rather bring back that pane and do it right just in case they disappear as soon as I double click haha...

• Installing Office 2010 without through group policy without an msi

  I have been breaking my head for several days now trying to install Microsoft office 2010 through group policy. Unfortunately Microsoft decided it would be fun to release office without an MSI and so I either 1) need to create an msi for it or 2) need to install it through a logon script that would run the setup.exe from a network location. Any advise would be greatlly appreciated. I tried to create a script but even though I double click it and it runs properly, it does not seem to kick in when users log in or when the machine is turned on. Also is there an easy way to create an msi? thanks! -Ri

• Google Spreadsheet API problem: memory exceeded

  Hi guys, Don't know if anyone has experience with the Google Spreadsheets API or the Zend_GData classes but it's worth a go: When I try to insert a value in a 750 row spreadsheet, it takes ages and then throws an error that my memory limit (which is 128 MB!) was exceeded. I also got this when querying all records of this spreadsheet but this I can imaging because it's quite a lot of data. But why does this happen when inserting a row? That's not too complex, is it?   Hello I have a number of rich:inplaceInput tags in RichFaces which represent numbers in an array. The validator allows integers only. When a user clicks in an input and changes a value, how can I get the bean to sort the array given the new number and reRender the list of rich:inplaceInput tags so that they're in numerical order? The table is complicated and I've specified id="Admin" (ie the whole table) to reRender as I've not found a way to send more localised values to the backing bean through the inplaceInput. This question is about how to use a4j:support action attribute to call the sort method so that when the reRender rerenders the component, it outputs the list in sorted order. I have the sort method working ok when I click a button to sort, but I want to have the list sorted automatically as soon as a new valid value is entered into the inplaceInput component. Thanks

• Time values not saving in Airport Base Station MAC Timed Access List

  I have an airport base station model A1354. I am attempting to setup MAC Timed Access so a laptop can only connect between 5:00AM and 11:00pm through the Airport Utility version 5.5.2 (552.11). My AEBS is running firmware version 7.5.2 When I try to enter the time values by double clicking over the time and entering 05:00 AM and 11:00PM the time values don't stay as soon as it looses focus. Instead they become what is in the following screenshot, and the laptop looses connectivity as soon as I update the base station. I also tried entering the values in military time with the same result. Any base station power users out there that know how I can get the time values to "stick"?

• F# Inline Function Specialization

  Hi, My current project involves lexing and parsing script code, and as such I'm using fslex and fsyacc. Fslex LexBuffers can come in either LexBuffer<char> and LexBuffer<byte> varieties, and I'd like to have the option to use both. In order to user both, I need a lexeme function of type ^buf - string. Thus far, my attempts at specialization have looked like: let inline lexeme (lexbuf: ^buf) : ^buf -> string where ^buf : (member Lexeme: char array) = new System.String(lexbuf.Lexeme) let inline lexeme (lexbuf: ^buf) : ^buf -> string where ^buf : (member Lexeme: byte array) = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(lexbuf.Lexeme) I'm getting a type error stating that the function body should be of type ^buf -> string, but the inferred type is just string. Clearly, I'm doing something (majorly?) wrong. Is what I'm attempting even possible in F#? If so, can someone point me to the proper path? Thanks!

• Twitter O-Auth Callback url

  I am having a problem with Twitter's oauth authentication and using a callback url. I am coding in php and using the sample code referenced by the twitter wiki, http://github.com/abraham/twitteroauth I got that code, and tried a simple test and it worked nicely. However I want to programatically specify the callback url, and the example did not support that. So I quickly modified the getRequestToken() method to take in a parameter and now it looks like this: function getRequestToken($params = array()) { $r = $this->oAuthRequest($this->requestTokenURL(), $params); $token = $this->oAuthParseResponse($r); $this->token = new OAuthConsumer($token['oauth_token'], $token['oauth_token_secret']); return $token; } and my call looks like this $tok = $to->getRequestToken(array('oauth_callback' => 'http://127.0.0.1/twitter_prompt/index.php')); This is the only change I made, and the redirect works like a charm, however I am getting an error when I then try and use my newly granted access to try and make a call. I get a "Could not authenticate you" error. Also the application never actually gets added to the users authorized connections. Now I read the specs and I thought all I had to do was specify the parameter when getting the request token. Could someone a little more seasoned in oauth and twitter possibly give me a hand? • Eclipse: open file in external editor only temporarily

  Using Eclipse, I can open a Java source file with an external editor by right-clicking on the file name (in the Package Explorer) and selecting Open With ... - emacsclient. I'm very glad to be able to do that. However, I only want to do that sometimes, not every time. Now, when I double-click on that same file name, I always automatically get the file opened in emacsclient. This is particularly annoying when I use the Open Type dialog to find a file, because in that case it's not possible to right-click and choose the default Eclipse editor. Is there a way to make Eclipse forget that I previously opened a particular file with emacsclient, so that it can go back to the default behavior of using the regular Eclipse editor?

  I have a set of archive files -- both zip and rar formats -- inside of which I need to rename some files. Specifically, I want to do something like this: for each archive file in a directory for each file in the archive if the file name matches the regular expression /(.* - [0-9]{2})([0-9]{2} - .)*/ rename the file as \1-\2 The trick isn't so much in the generation of the new name; I can do that with either bash or sed or anything else. It's the set of commands to manipulate the files in the archives using rar/unrar or unzip/zip (If it makes a difference, I'm re-formatting some CBR/CBZ files to get the double-page spreads to come up in the right order in SimpleComic -- it interprets page 0203 as page 203, which makes the story a bit hard to follow)

  So... I have never had a need to do a random SELECT on a MySQL DB until this project I'm working on. After researching it seems the general populous says that using RAND() is a bad idea. • ipad full screen (1024x768) animation with around 1800 frames fps problem

  Hi there. what i am trying to do is to play a full screen(1024x768) animation on ipad with an fps of around 20. i have got a scene with 1800 full screen frames. till now i have tried a lot of approaches but have encountered a lot of problems. my first approach was to get the texture using the following function t = [[CCTexture2D alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"(%d)",startIndex] ofType:type]]]; give it to sprite by using setTexture method and then release the texture then create a new texture with next frame and repeat the procedure but by using this approach i only get an FPS of about 7. my second approach was to preload about 10 textures in texturecache save them in an array and give them to sprite using setTexture and on the back end i am replacing the old textures with the new texture in a thread but the problem i face is that creating new texture and adding to array takes some time and when the settexture method is called the sprite displays the old texture because the new one is not loaded yet but after some time new texture get loaded. Is there any way i can run a full screen animation on ipad at around 20 fps plesae help me out. Thanks Farhan

• Is there a sensible way of 'teaming' two ADSL connections?

  I work in an office complex that has two seperate ADSL connections, which they use to provide two seperate networks (actually both the ADSL routers go into a Cisco managed switch with two VLANs, one for each ADSL connection). Circumstances have changed so that 95% of the users are all on one ADSL connection. It would be great if there were a way to join together both connections to emulate a single connection at double the speed, but the ISP doesn't support bonding. So, is there a sensible way to take two completely seperate ADSL lines and use them to provide a single internet gateway?

Where do I specify the mappings 2. How do I use the mappings in my buildValues function shown above and build the values string array. I would really appreciate if you can help me with this
