    Hey I have four computers(with linux): two with mediawiki(mirror, both connected to one db) one with mysql one server(DHCP,DNS etc) I configured on my server load balancer and now hen I type in browser name.local for example I get one of my mediawiki servers. I press f5 really fast and then I see in top command both computers are being loaded but not much. I used tool ab (apache benchamrk) but if I run it always is connected to one server never alternately. I use this settings: ab -n 100 -c 10 http://name.local/

  • The amount of memory used by each process

    I have a mysql server running debian with 2GO of RAM. I would like to know the amount of memory used by each process. I thought ps -aux was the command and options for it. But I only see 90 MO used by several processes and free -m tells me that 1400 MO are used. Is there a way to have a better view with the processes and the memory used by them ?

    Hi, Next week i am supposed to develop an asp.net application which will connect to SAP, retrieve some data, change them and send back to SAP. We decided to use web services to achieve this and now i just want to know what diffuculties may i face with? I have URL of WSDL of the Web Service, will it be enough for me to adding web reference and giving the WSDL's URL? How will i authenticate? And Will it be the same with consuming normal web services? Also i wonder is there anybody that can share a .NET dll that can be used in visual studio 2008? There are some articles relating how to create such a dll using SAP .Net Connector and visual studio 2003 but i could not find anybody sharing the resulting dll under their post. Thanks...

    Hi, We were connecting to Oracle from our code with a simple (custom) JDBC connector class. This class reads the connection properties from a resource file and tries to make a connection to Oracle (thin connection). However, recently the database have moved to a RAC and now the application is unable to connect to the DB.   • Blackberry - Exception when sending SMS programmatically

    Hello all, I am developing a Blackberry application. I am trying to send SMS programmatically to GSM number. I have gone through many queries and answers related to that and finally added the code for that as below. When the code tries to execute sending some text message to the particular mobile number, it doesn't send and throws exception as "blocking operation not permitted on event dispatch thread". So i created a separate background thread where i put the SMS code and running the code now. But still observing the same exception.   • AJP proxy that maps internal servlet name to a different external name

    Using apache2 I want to set up an AJP proxy for a Tomcat server that maps an internal servlet URL to a completely different URL externally. Currently I am using the following configurations: Apache2 configuration: <IfModule mod_proxy.c> ProxyPreserveHost on ProxyPass /external_name ajp://192.168.1.30:8009/servlet_name ProxyPassReverse /external_name ajp://192.168.1.30:8009/servlet_name </IfModule> Note that external_name and servlet_name are different. Tomcat 6 configuration: <Connector port="8009" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" /> This however does not work. Apache seems to forward http requests to Tomcat. However the URLs and redirects returned by Tomcat are still using the original servlet_name and Apache does not map them to external_name. Is this possible at all with AJP? If not can it be done using a plain http proxy instead?

    I'm starting a JEE project that needs to be strongly scalable. So far, the concept was: several Message Driven Beans, responsible for different parts of the architecture each MDB has a Session Bean injected, handling the business logic a couple of Entity Beans, providing access to the persistence layer communication between the different parts of the architecture via Request/Reply concept via JMS messages: MDB receives msg containing activity request uses its session bean to execute necessary business logic returns response object in msg to original requester The idea was that by de-coupling parts of the architecture from each other via the message bus, there is no limit to the scalability. Simply start more components - as long as they are connected to the same bus, we can grow and grow. Unfortunately, we're having massive problems with the request-reply concept. Transaction Mgmt seems to be in our way plenty. It seams that session beans are not supposed to consume messages?! Reading http://blogs.sun.com/fkieviet/entry/request_reply_from_an_ejb and http://forums.sun.com/message.jspa?messageID=10338789, I get the feeling that people actually recommend against the request/reply concept for EJBs. If that is the case, how do you communicate between your EJBs? (Remember, scalability is what I'm after) Details of my current setup: MDB 1 'TestController', uses (local) SLSB 1 'TestService' for business logic TestController.onMessage() makes TestService send a message to queue XYZ and requests a reply TestService uses Bean Managed Transactions TestService establishes a connection & session to the JMS broker via a joint connection factory upon initialization (@PostConstruct) TestService commits the transaction after sending, then begins another transaction and waits 10 sec for the response Message gets to MDB 2 'LocationController', which uses (local) SLSB 2 'LocationService' for business logic LocationController.onMessage() makes LocationService send a message back to the requested JMSReplyTo queue Same BMT concept, same @PostConstruct concept all use the same connection factory to access the broker Problem: The first message gets send (by SLSB 1) and received (by MDB 2) ok. The sending of the returning message (by SLSB 2) is fine as well. However, SLSB 1 never receives anything - it just times out. I tried without the messageSelector, no change, still no receiving message. Is it not ok to consume message by a session bean?     We have set up a BDC Profile Import for Sharepoint 2007 and it works well for 99% of the users. A handful fails with the "Exception occured when calling into BIL connector for import from non master data source" message in the crawl log, though The ULS logs reveal the following information: Exception Profile Import: Exception occured when importing user: '[redacted]\[redacted]'. Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.PropertyInvalidValueException: Invalid Property Value: Could not find SID corresponding to input account name I have confirmed that the user has a sharepoint profile matching the username is a valid domain user exists in AD Can anyone help med troubleshoot this?

  • I never really understood: what is CGI?

    CGI is a Comman Gateway Interface. As the name says, it is a "common" gateway interface for everything. It is so trivial and naive from the name. I feel that I understood this and I felt this every time I encountered this word. But frankly, I didn't. I'm still confused. I am a PHP programmer. I did lot of web development. user (client) request for page --- webserver(-embedded PHP interpreter) ---- Server side(PHP) Script --- MySQL Server. Now say my PHP Script can fetch results from MySQL Server && MATLAB Server && Some other server. So, now PHP Script is the CGI? because its interface for the between webserver & All other servers? I don't know. Sometimes they call CGI, a technology & othertimes they call CGI a program or someother server. What exactly is CGI? Whats the big deal with /cgi-bin/*.cgi? Whats up with this? I don't know what is this cgi-bin directory on the server for. I don't know why they have *.cgi extensions. Why does Perl always comes in the way. CGI & Perl (language). I also don't know whats up with these two. Almost all the time I keep hearing these two in combination "CGI & Perl". This book is another great example CGI Programming with Perl Why not "CGI Programming with PHP/JSP/ASP". I never saw such things. CGI Programming in C this confuses me a lot. in C?? Seriously?? I don't know what to say. I"m just confused. "in C"?? This changes everything. Program needs to be compiled and executed. This entirely changes my view of web programming. When do I compile? How does the program gets executed (because it will be a machine code, so it must execute as a independent process). How does it communicate with the web server? IPC? and interfacing with all the servers (in my example MATLAB & MySQL) using socket programming? I'm lost!! They say that CGI is depreciated. Its no more in use. Is it so? What is its latest update? Once, I ran into a situation where I had to give HTTP PUT request access to web server (Apache HTTPD). Its a long back. So, as far as I remember this is what I did: Edited the configuration file of Apache HTTPD to tell webserver to pass all HTTP PUT requests to some put.php ( I had to write this PHP script) Implement put.php to handle the request (save the file to the location mentioned) People said that I wrote a CGI Script. Seriously, I didn't have clue what they were talking about. Did I really write CGI Script? I hope you understood what my confusion is. (Because I myself don't know where I'm confused). I request you guys to keep your answer as simple as possible. I really can't understand any fancy technical terminology. At least not in this case. EDIT: I found this amazing tutorial "CGI Programming Is Simple!" - CGI Tutorial Which explains the concepts in simplest possible way. I've only have one complaint about this tutorial. Just to make what ever he explained complete he should have shown the C code he used for generating response for those GET / POST requests.   • XML parsing with SAX | how to handle special characters?

    We have a JAVA application that pulls the data from SAP, parses it and renders to the users. The data is pulled using JCO connector. Recently we were thrown an exception: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "&#00" is an invalid XML character. So, we are planning to write a new level of indirection where ALL special/illegal characters are replaced BEFORE parsing the XML. My questions here are : 1. Is there any existing(open source) utility that does this job of replacing illegal characters in XML? 2. Or if I had to write such utility, how should i handle them? 3. Why is the above exception thrown? Thank You.

  • Unable to add a trac repository to mylyn in eclipse

    Trac is running on a server on port 8002. With tunneling, I am able to access Trac on my machine using localhost:8002. I am able to login, create tickets using my browser. I want to integrate this trac project with Mylyn in Eclipse. I have installed mylyn with the Trac connector. I try adding task repositories in eclipse. I am able to successfully validate the settings, however, I am not able to add it as a task repository. Any help appreciated.

    Well, I have implemented a distinct query in hibernate. It returns me result. But, while casting the fields are getting interchanged. So, it generates casting error. What should be the solution? As an example, I do have database, "ProjectAssignment" that has three fields, aid, pid & userName. I want all distinct userName data from this table. I have applied query : select distinct userName, aid, pid from ProjectAssignment Whereas the ProjectAssignment.java file has the fields in sequence aid, pid & userName. Now, here the userName is first field in output. So, Casting is not getting possible. Also, query : select aid, pid, distinct userName from ProjectAssignment is not working. What is the proper query for the same ? Or what else the solution ?   • VS 2010 Server Explorer Database Showing No Tables

    I'm working on a .Net application that needs to read from an Oracle 10g database behind Siebel. In VS 2010 Server Explorer, I've created a connection using the OracleClient type connector with a reference to the Oracle TNS service name as the "server name." The "Test Connection" button shows that the connection is successful. However, in the Server Explorer, when I go to expand the Tables, no tables are shown. I know for a fact that there are 3000+ tables in the database (thanks Siebel). Anyone know what's happening here? I'd like to create an Entity Framework 4.0 Entity Data Model... Thanks for the help!     So anyway. i fastbooted and superrooted, and all's fine in the merry old land of Oz. So yeah, now I can see /data/data.. in DDMS, both the plugin and the tool, which is great. but when I attach my phone, I still can't see the main drive. All I can see is the SD card. Using OSX, so when I use Disk Utility, I can see the machine then see the SD Card. is the problem that none of the tools I am using, except DDMS and ADB shell, know how to read that main Android drive? It's the same format as the qemu img, right? Someone HAS to come up with a tool that can do this, let me hack my phone and access the main drive via my USB connector, and mount that drive on my native file system. It just can NOT be that hard. Err, can it? All smiles! Michael

I can run the demo portfolioPublisher demo successfully at http://localhost:8161/demo/portfolio/portfolio.html, and see the numbers updated all the time.   • Error while importing SSL into jboss 4.2 ?

    I've tried to setup .keystore on Jboss 4.2. due to this documentation from jboss community http://community.jboss.org/wiki/sslsetup but Jboss console generate this error LifecycleException: service.getName(): "jboss.web"; Protocol handler start failed: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Documents and Settings\mebada\.keystore (The system cannot find the file specified) even I specify location of keystore in server.xml <Connector className = "org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector" address="${jboss.bind.address}" port = "8443" protocol="HTTP/1.1" SSLEnabled="true" scheme = "https" secure = "true"> <Factory className = "org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteServerSocketFactory" keystoreFile="D:/Projects/Demo/jboss-4.2.3.GA/jboss-4.2.3.GA/server/default/conf/server.keystore" keystorePass="tc-ssl" protocol = "TLS"></Factory> Any Help ?     I used code given but I am getting "IOCancelledException" and "IOException". And IOCancelledException.getMessage() / IOException.getMessage() giving null string, it does not give error message.   • I have VS2010RC and VS2008 installed - how can I run MVC 2 with both tools?

    Hey all - I just downloaded the release version of MVC 2, pretty excited about that! Problem is, I can now create a MVC project in VS2010 but I don't seem to be able to do so in VS2008. We are using VS2010 RC for our main project. We need to use VS2008 for a new project so we can use the Connector/NET for MySQL, and I would love to be able to use MVC for this project. Does anybody know if this is possible? What am I missing, if anything? Thanks, Dave
