  In the past, I received no errors from Xenu Link Checker. Today, I get thousands of pages with status "No Connection". The URL's that show the error are accessible. I've used the "Retry Broken Links" command 10 times and still get the same list of errors. Why does this happen?

• What are some fast methods for navigating to frequently used folders in Windows 7?

  (This is a followup question from my previous question.) In windows XP I used to be able to quickly navigate to frequently used folders by making use of the 'Favorites' menu item and the hotkey behaviour. In certain conditions it could be set up so that getting to a particular folder was as easy as alt-a x (and without a file explorer window open it was as fast as win-e alt-a x). I am struggling to get anywhere near this speed in Windows 7 and would like to solicit advice from others regarding fast folder navigation to see if I am missing any methods. My current way to navigate quickly is basically move hand to mouse move cursor to navigation pane/pain. scroll all the way to the top (because normally I the panel is focused on whatever deep directory structure I am already in). sift through my 50+ favorites to get the one I want, or click a link to a folder that contains further links in some sort of 'pseudo-tree' functionality. select it. This is slower than my previous method by upwards of an order of magnitude. There are a couple of things I've contemplated: add expandable folders, not just direct links, to the favorites menu. add expandable folders, not just direct links, to the start menu. add links of my favorite folders to a submenu of the start menu so that they come up when I search them. They do but this still rather cumbersome started using 7stacks - url here (I cannot link the url directly due to lack of reputation but http://www.alastria.com/index.php?p=software-7s). This is about the closest I've gotten to some sort of compact, customizeable, easy to access, tree based navigation structure. How do you power users quickly navigate to your favorite folders? Are there keyboard shortcuts I am missing? Can someone recommend other apps or addon or extensions that can achieve this sort of functionality? The Current solution (thanks to the answers below) I am going to use is a combination of Autohotkey and 7stacks - autohotkey to launch 7stacks, 7stacks with the 'menu' stack type for fast, key-enabled navigation to folders organised in a tree structure. This solves about 90% of the issue, the only issues are (note that these are really minor, I am really splitting hairs more than anything here) Can't use this for existing folder navigation (ie already have a explorer window open, want to go to another directory) A bit more cumbersome to add/remove entries to compared to xp favorites. A little slower than xp favorites. Whatever. I'm happy. Thanks guys.   I have a few extensions next to my URL bar in chrome on windows 7. When I press any of them, or even the bookmark star, the text box that pops up is clear. I am using the following extensions: ablock plus, googleTranslate, firebugLite, ghostery, avastWebRep, Ultimate UserAgent switcher, Web developer toolbar, desprotetor de links, DNT plus, and WOT. I am set to block popups but not javascript in chrome and have a blackout theme installed. any ideas?

• Unknown redirect & slow page load

  Hello: I am hosting a website with GoDaddy's "Deluxe Linux" package. Of late, I noticed my website is loading nearly 10x slower. As I begin to debug, I noticed the following redirect occurring however nothing in my script would be causing it. It hits the URL, www.domain.com, then a 302 fires to www.domain.com/39dnda, then another 302 back to www.doamin.com ??? The first 302 is random each time... • Intermittently, IIS7 requests get stuck in WindowsAuthenticationModule

  Hi, We're running an IIS7 server hosting several dozen websites. Several of these websites are all part of the same legacy app we've developed. These sites all run the same code and run in the same app pool. Roughly once a month over the past few months, we've found that all requests for this app pool start hanging indefinitely. When this happens, we receive an alert and we recycle the app pool. After that, the sites start working again. This only ever affects this one app pool - never any others on the same server. A couple times, before recycling the pool, I've looked at the currently-executing requests in the worker process. They all show up as executing inside the WindowsAuthenticationModule. Which is strange, because the vast majority of the application does not require authentication. There is a small admin section which uses Windows auth... but all the other requests should be anonymous. Does anyone have any idea as to what might be causing this? There are several unusual things about the way these sites are set up. As I mentioned, they all run the same code - multiple sites point at the same physical directory. The only difference is the host header bindings. I'm not sure why there isn't just one site with all the host headers, but that's how it works. In several of these sites, the same physical directory is mapped at two levels - as the root of the site and again as an application within the site. So if a user goes to http://oursite.com/index.aspx, that maps to c:\files\oursite\index.aspx. If a user goes to http://oursite.com/foo/index.aspx, that also maps to c:\files\oursite\index.aspx. I think there is code which looks at the request URL and handles the two requests differently. This is strange because the same web.config ends up being interpreted as a site config file, and also as an application config file within the site. I don't know if this might be related to the authentication problem. If we can't find the cause, we're thinking of a few workarounds we could try: Move the admin section into a separate site, and give the client a new admin URL. Run that separate site in its own app pool. Then in the web.config shared by all the other sites, remove the WindowsAuthenticationModule. That way there should be no possibility of a hang within the WindowsAuthenticationModule. Try running all these sites in the classic pipeline instead of the integrated pipeline. They were working fine on our old IIS6 server... (If we get desperate) Set up a watchdog script which monitors the sites and auto-recycles the app pool when it detects that requests are getting stuck. What do you think?   I'm trying to get a Yaws web server working on a cloud service (Amazon AWS). I've compilled and installed a local copy on the server. My problem is that I can't get Yaws to run while running on either port 8000 or port 80.
