  • UIWebView NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData doesn't actually ignore the cache

    I have a UIWebView object, with the caching-policy specified as: NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData This should ignore whatever objects are in the local cache and retrieve the latest version of a site from the web. However, after the first load of the site (10 resources in trace, HTTP GET), all subsequent loads of the site only retrieve a small subset of resources (3 resources in trace, HTTP GET). The images all appear to be loaded from some local source. I have confirmed that my sharedURLCache has a memory usage of 0 bytes, and a disk usage of 0 bytes. Whenever the process starts fresh, the full version of the site is retrieved again. This leads me to believe that these resources are being stored in an in-memory cache, but as I noted before, [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] currentMemoryUsage] returns 0. I have also tried explicitly removing the cached response for my request, but this seems to have no effect. What gives?

  • How to make Exchange 2010 use In-Reply-To and References headers as well as Thread-Index?

    The problem that I have is simple. We have recently upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. Everything went fine, and there are very few complaints. In Exchange 2003, some of our OWA users liked the Threading view, these users love the conversations view, especially with the cross-mailbox threading. The problem is that some of these users are now complaining that old e-mails that they got from systems like bugzilla were migrated across correctly threaded, but the new e-mails are not being correctly threaded. If I look at the mail source using an IMAP client then I can see that all of the mails that are turning up as being threaded have the (Microsoft specific) Thread-Index header, and the mails that are not getting grouped do not have this header. The question is, how can I make the webmail client respect the normal threading? That is, is there a way to Make the OWA client use the standard In-Reply-To and References headers, or Make Exchange generate the Thread-Index headers for Outlook and OWA to use?

    I have 50 databases on a MS SQL Server 2005 system and want to upgrade to MS SQL Server 2008. This is what I tried on some test machines: 1. copied the \DATA directory from the source (MSSQL 2005) to exactly the same path on the target (MSSQL 2008) server. 2. edited the startup parameters on the MSSQL 2008 service to point to the path of the MSSQL 2005 master database. 3. restarted MSSQL service It worked and I can access all databases, tables and data. My questions are: I go back to SQL Server 4.2 and it has never been this easy. I know it worked, but should have it worked? Am I missing something, or is there going to be a gotcha next week? These are simple databases, with just tables, views and indexes. No cross database links, no triggers etc

    I'm trying to develop a standalone Java web service client with JAX-WS (Metro) that uses WS-Security with Username Token Authentication (Password digest, nonces and timestamp) and timestamp verification along with WS-Addressing over SSL. The WSDL I have to work with does not define any security policy information. I have been unable to figure out exactly how to add this header information (the correct way to do so) when the WSDL does not contain this information. Most examples I have found using Metro revolve around using Netbeans to automatically generate this from the WSDL which does not help me at all. I have looked into WSIT, XWSS, etc. without much clarity or direction. JBoss WS Metro looked promising not much luck yet there either. Anyone have experience doing this or have suggestions on how to accomplish this task? Even pointing me in the right direction would be helpful. I am not restricted to a specific technology other than it must be Java based.

    According to Presentation Model notes by Martin Fowler and also on MSDN documentation about Presentation Model, it is explained that the Presentation Model Class should be unaware of the UI class and similarly Business Model Class should be unaware of the Presentation Model class. The UI should databind extensively to the Presentation Model, the Presentation Model in turn will co-ordinate with one or more Domain/Business Model objects to get the job done. The Presentation Model basically presents the Domain Model data in a way to facilitate maximum data binding in UI, allowing the UI take as less decisions as possible and thus increase testability of Presentation behaviours. This also makes the presentation model class generic, i.e. agnostic of any particular UI technology. Now, consider there is a List form (say CustomerList) and there is another Root form (say Customer) and there is a Use Case of allowing to Edit a Customer from the CustomerList form on a button click. For simplicity of discussion, consider that some actions took place when Customer List is opened from menu (i.e. Customer menu clicked) and the Customer List has been shown from the Menu click event. Now as per the above Use Case, I need to open the Customer Root UI (single Customer) from the Customer List. How do I do that? Build necessary objects (BusinessModel, PresentationModel, UI) in click event of Edit button and call CustomerEdit UI from there? Build the CustomerEdit UI from Presentation Model Class and show UI from presentation model? this can be done in any of the two ways below - a. Create objects in the following sequence DomainModel-PresentationModel-UIForm b. Use Unity.Resolve(); Either ways, Presentation Model is violated as the P model now has to the refer the concrete UI assembly, where CustomerEdit is located. Also the P Model has to refer and use a WinForm directly making it less UI technology agnostic. Even though the violations are in theory and can be ignored, I would still seek the community's opinion about whether I am going wrong direction.   • Which linux distro for a laptop in windows environmet?

    I just got new laptop at work. What would you recommend as a linux distribution for it? All other developers are working under windows, and use windows tools. I'm currently using ArchLinux, but want to change it. I don't want to waste time configuring wireless, windows network shares, network pritners, projector, etc ... I want this stuff to just work, while still having sane and stable development evironment and tools. Is Ubuntu a good choice for this? I use gentoo at home, but don't think it is a good match for work environmet. EDIT: Note that we are working on cross platform apps, and deployment platform is almost always linux. There are very few windows apps that I have to use (like MS Project). It is just that everything else is windows centric. I use linux because I feel more productive with it, even if I have to dual boot to edit MS Project files.

    A few years ago, where I work, I created a wiki for me and my co-workers. We work on a lot of old programs and to help with cross training, we put a lot of our notes in the wiki. Sadly, the wiki was hosted on my machine and my machine has died. I can pull the drive out and hook it up to an enclosure and still see the files, etc. I want to know...is there a way to get the files/pages from that wiki somehow. I think they are stored in a mysql database somewhere. Yeah it sucks and I had a lot of stuff on that drive but the most important thing for me now is to get those notes (wiki pages). Any help would be appreciated.

I looked in her .htaccess file and sure enough it is setup to deny people from stealing her images. Fair Enough, except the pages i'm working on are in her domain and yet I still get the 403 error.     The code below works locally, but when I deploy it to the server it gives the following error.     I'm attempting to implement cross-domain HTTP access control without touching any code. I've got my Apache(2) server returning the correct Access Control headers with this block: Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*" Header set Access-Control-Allow-Methods "POST, GET, OPTIONS" I now need to prevent Apache from executing my code when the browser sends a HTTP OPTIONS request (it's stored in the REQUEST_METHOD environment variable), returning 200 OK. How can I configure Apache to respond "200 OK" when the request method is OPTIONS? I've tried this mod_rewrite block, but the Access Control headers are lost.   • SQL Server 2008 Install fails error reading etwcls.mof

    I receive the following error when trying to install Sql Server 2008 Standard on a Windows Server 2008 box. Error reading from file D:\x64\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\etwcls.mof. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. When searching the interwebs I only find information about compiling this file but not reading. The file exists in the location requested. I have run the WMIDiag tool and there doesn't seem to be any issues. I am not sure what else I can do to solve this issue and can't seem to find anything on the internet about it.   • NLog: Force BufferingTargetWrapper to empty on AppDomain UnhandledException

    I have NLog configured in my application to to use the BufferingTargetWrapper for sending emails with the MailTarget. The problem I'm running into is I can not find a way to force NLog to empty the BufferingTargetWrapper before the application exits from Unhandled Exceptions. I tried calling LogManager.Flush() and LogManager.DisableLogging() from the Current App Domain's UnhandledException Event but it does not seam to work. What would I need to do to make it send the emails?
