• Modx: How to create a contact form with a dropdown of offices to cc the email to?

  In the contact us template I want to have a dropdown with the list of offices (All offices articles are places under the same parent node, so getting the list should be fairly easy). I need a way to add the office email address (Template variable from the Office article) to the email generated by Modx's eForm. I don't want the email address to be visible in the contact us form, but a snippet fetching the article Template variable email address. I also want a link from each offices article to the contact us form with the office preselected in the dropdown. How should I implement this?

  I have jQuery that drops a menu down when its parent is clicked on, and dismisses it when they hover away from the menu. I am wanting to change the behavior so that it only dismisses if they click somewhere else on the page, or a different menu. • Windows Phone: Updating backend datastore (via web service) while keeping UI very responsive

  I am developing a Windows Phone app where users can update a list. Each update, delete, add etc need to be stored in a database that sits behind a web service. As well as ensuring all the operations made on the phone end up in the cloud, I need to make sure the app is really responsive and the user doesn’t feel any lag time whatsoever. What’s the best design to use here? Each check box change, each text box edit fires a new thread to contact the web service? Locally store a list of things that need to be updated then send to the server in batch every so often (what about the back button)? Am I missing another even easier implementation? • .net Compiler Optimizations

  I am writing an application that I need to run at incredibly low speeds. The application creates and destroys memory in creative ways throughout its run, and it works just fine. I am wondering what compiler optimizations occur so I can try to build to that. One trick off hand is that the CLR handles arrays much faster than lists, so if you need to handle a ton of elements in a List, you may be better off calling ToArray() and handling it rather than calling ElementAt() again and again. I am wondering if there is any sort of comprehensive list for this kind of thing, or maybe the SO community can create one :-)

  Hi Everyone, At my site - jasondaydesign.com. I'm using easylistsplitter.js. I designed it this way, because I actually wanted a masonry.js style layout but I couldn't find a way to filter divs. So I made the switch to lists, and found a plugin that allowed me to have a masonry style layout. Unfortunately, I have tried several list filters including: filterprojects.js and a netuts tutorial on a filterable portfolio. Unfortunately, both work, but only on the first column. I can't seem to figure out a way to have a filter plugin work on all list items that have been split by easylistsplitter.js Thoughts?

• Using microsoft report viewer with objects

  Ive got some nested objects that I am trying to generate reports for. A BackupClient contains BackupVersions and BackupVersions contain BackupFiles. I passed in the list of BackupClients - and the report displays the client name, etc.... but to display the versions - It says I have to have a Binding Source for BackupVersions. If I pull all of the versions out of the clients and put them in a different BindingSource, then my data is no longer together - how is the report viewer going to list the versions for client X - if I just have a binding source with ALL clients versions in it?

  Hi, I'd like to implement a sort of Addressbook/Contactbook using a Datagrid (or a List) and the MVVM pattern. Something like in Outlook/Thunderbird, where you've a list of your contacts displayed with a 2-3 main fields (name surname for example), and when you double-click a contact, then you get a new modal box that displays all the details of this specific contact. Since a couple of weeks/months, I'm reading a lot of stuff about MVVM pattern on the net, but somehow, I get confused. Until now, I could find any sample like this. (perhaps, I searched wrong?) How could I organize such an application? Thx in advance for your help.

• Distinct or group by on some columns but not others

  I have a view that I'm trying to filter with something similar to DISTINCT on some columns but not others. I have a view like this: Name LastName Zip Street1 HouseholdID (may not be unique because it may have multiple addresses -- think of it in the logical sense as grouping persons but not physical locations; If you lookup HouseholdID 4130, you may get two rows.. or more, because the person may have mutiple mailing locations) City State I need to pull all those columns but filter on LastName,Zip, and Street1. Here's the fun part: The filter is arbitrary -- meaning I don't care which one of the duplicates goes away. This is for a mail out type thing and the other information is not used for any other reason than than to look up a specific person if needed (I have no idea why). So.. given one of the records, you can easily figure out the removed ones. As it stands now, my Sql-Fu fails me and I'm filtering in C# which is incredibly slow and is pretty much a foreach that starts with an empty list and adds the row in if the combined last name, zip, and street aren't are not in the list. I feel like I'm missing a simple / basic part of SQL that I should be understanding.

I'm not able to get bookings all into the same datatype, which would make this easier and each booking type needs to be processed differently, so I'm not sure how I can improve this. Any ideas?

• Android: Associating Browser to File Type in App

  I'm attempting to write a simple app that associates a file type to the browser; this is assuming the browser will open the file locally... If this doesn't work, the local file - editor will be fine. I have an option of auto-mailing .ELC files from a custom app, they are basically html formatted TEXT or TXT only files; I would like to associate the .elc extension so that it will open direct from mail rather than just "Save to SD Card" as a mail option. • Send multidimensional array to php with jQuery

  hy, i have a little, big problem here :) after i upload some images i get a list with all the images. I have some jQuery function for rotate, duplicate, delete, shuffle images! when i select a image and hit delete i send a post to php with the alt="" value of the image,i identify the picture and edit.   I am trying to bind data from database to datagrid in silverlight. When I get typed data from DB, it is no problem since I use List<'EntityObject' collection object for example. However, sometimes I need data which I won't be able to know how many and what columns will be generated in design time. In this case, I cannot use typed collection like List<'EntityObject'. In addition, it is not able to use DataSet in silverlight. So, in this case and situation, how to solve this kind of problem? Thanks in advance Kwon

The filtering part (in the performFiltering method()) seems to go ok, it fills the FilterResults object just as expected. But then I think I'm not doing it right on how to publish the results, atm I have : protected void publishResults(CharSequence prefix, FilterResults results) { // NOTE: this function is *always* called from the UI thread. subItems = (Vector)results.values; notifyDataSetChanged(); } But this simply won't "populate" my List with the received data. So now my question is how do I populate my List with the received results ? Do I have to do that programmatically ?

  Hi, all my projects and their versions are defined in a properties file like this: ProjectNameA=0.0.1 ProjectNameB=1.4.2 I'd like to iterate over all projects and use there names and versions in an ant script. Right now, I read the entire properties file in help of the property task. Then I iterate over a given list in a for loop like this: <for list="ProjectNameA,ProjectNameB" param="project"> <sequential> <echo message="@{project} has version ${@{project}}" /> </sequential> </for> How can I avoid the duplication of the project names in the for loop. So basically iterate over each line and extract the name and the version of a project. Thanks.

• Is there a way to highlight specific words or numbers without inserting a span tag?

  I've got blocks of text with various specs in them and want to have jquery highlight whatever matches a specific pattern without inserting any extra html. The following is the kind of text that I've got to work with. Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 920 (2.66GHz, 8MB cache, 4.8GT/sec)/ Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English/ 640 GB Serial ATA non Raid (7200 Rpm)/ 6GB 1333MHz (3x2GB) Tri Channel Memory/ Display Not Included/ 16X DVD+/- RW Optical Drive (DVD & CD read and write)/ 1.8GB NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX260 graphics card/ Integrated HDA 7.1 Dolby Digital Audio What I'm hoping jquery can do is highlight some of the basic specs without inserting any extra html. Maybe working off a list of values matching the spec format using some wildcards where neededed? The css to select the correct tag is #list div div div+p or I could just give the p class but would rather not. Is this kind of thing possible?

Other stuff ...... } I then have a dictionary that is defined like this: public Dictionary<BasePadWI, Canvas> Pad { get; set; } I would then like to make a call like this: List<WorkItem> workItems = Pad.Keys.ToList(); (Note: WorkItem is a sealed class, so I cannot inherit.) • designing database tables using JDBC

  I am creating a users table using JDBC and mysql, each user has a permissions list that comprises Integer values, I am wondering if I should use an array for storing these values and then have only 1 record for this user in the table, or simply create a new table that comprises 2 columns: user ID and permissions, and then have multiple records for each user that specify the user name in one columns and one permission value in the second column, the second option seems to be redundant since a permission value is a simple object that isn't associated with any other objects (like a student and courses list for example, because the course is associated with many other objects, like grade, teacher, etc, so in this case it is natural to have multiple records), but the first one seems to be a bit unnatural to me, so if someone has experience with these things and direct me? thanks
