  • XAML resources aren't loaded when calling from different project

    - by svick
    I have a WPF project with some styles in XAML in Application.Resources. This works perfectly fine. But when I open a window from this project from another one (this one is a console application), the resources from XAML aren't loaded. When I first tried it, I got a XamlParseException on StaticResource calls in XAML, so I changed it to DynamicResource and now the style just doesn't get loaded. How do I fix this? The code I use: [STAThread] static void Main() { App app = new App(); MyWindow wnd = new MyWindow (); wnd.Show(); app.Run(); }

  • UITableViewCell and strange behaviour in grouped UITableView

    - by evangelion2100
    I'm working on a grouped UITableView, with 4 sections with one row per section, and have a strange behaviour with the cells. The cells are plain UITableViewCells, but the height of the cells are around 60 - 80 pixel. Now the tableview renders the cells correct with round corners, but when I select the cells, they appear blue and recangle. I don't know why the cells behave like this, because I have another grouped UITableView with custom cells and 88 pixel height and those cells work like they should. If I change the height to the default height of 44 pixel, the cells behave like the should. Does anyone know about this behaviour and what the cause is? Like I mentioned, I don't do any fancy stuff I use default UITableViewCells in a static, grouped UITableView with 4 sections with 1 row in each section. evangelion2100

  • WAS Non-HTTP activation - hooking application startup

    - by Mike Tours
    I'm trying to integrate a netTcpBinding based application that is hosted inside WAS with an IoC container (autofac/spring). Unfortunately, when it starts inside WAS and due to the fact that it is not an Http based application, no events are fired inside the Global application class. I need to catch the application domain startup so that I can configure the IoC container. Is there any way to do this when hosting in WAS? I've seen horrible things involving using static classes inside App_Code folders, but I'd like something somewhat more testable and not quite as dirty.

  • C++ template parameter/class ambiguity

    - by aaa
    hello. while testing with different version of g++, the following problem came up template<class bra> struct Transform<bra, void> : kernel::Eri::Transform::bra { static const size_t ni = bra::A::size; bra::A is interpreted as kernel::Eri::Transform::bra::A, rather than template argument by g++ 4.1.2. on the other hand, g++ 4.3 gets it right. what should be correct behavior according to standard? Meanwhile, I refactor slightly to make problem go away.

  • How to convert objects in reflection (Linq to XML)

    - by user829174
    I have the following code which is working fine, the code creates plugins in reflection via run time: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.IO; using System.Xml.Linq; using System.Reflection; using System.Text; namespace WindowsFormsApplication1 { public abstract class Plugin { public string Type { get; set; } public string Message { get; set; } } public class FilePlugin : Plugin { public string Path { get; set; } } public class RegsitryPlugin : Plugin { public string Key { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Value { get; set; } } static class MyProgram { [STAThread] static void Main(string[] args) { string xmlstr =@" <Client> <Plugin Type=""FilePlugin""> <Message>i am a file plugin</Message> <Path>c:\</Path> </Plugin> <Plugin Type=""RegsitryPlugin""> <Message>i am a registry plugin</Message> <Key>HKLM\Software\Microsoft</Key> <Name>Version</Name> <Value>3.5</Value> </Plugin> </Client> "; Assembly asm = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(); XDocument xDoc = XDocument.Load(new StringReader(xmlstr)); Plugin[] plugins = xDoc.Descendants("Plugin") .Select(plugin => { string typeName = plugin.Attribute("Type").Value; var type = asm.GetTypes().Where(t => t.Name == typeName).First(); Plugin p = Activator.CreateInstance(type) as Plugin; p.Type = typeName; foreach (var prop in plugin.Descendants()) { var pi = type.GetProperty(prop.Name.LocalName); object newVal = Convert.ChangeType(prop.Value, pi.PropertyType); pi.SetValue(p, newVal, null); } return p; }).ToArray(); // //"plugins" ready to use // } } } I am trying to modify the code and adding new class named DetailedPlugin so it will be able to read the following xml: string newXml = @" <Client> <Plugin Type=""FilePlugin""> <Message>i am a file plugin</Message> <Path>c:\</Path> <DetailedPlugin Type=""DetailedFilePlugin""> <Message>I am a detailed file plugin</Message> </DetailedPlugin> </Plugin> <Plugin Type=""RegsitryPlugin""> <Message>i am a registry plugin</Message> <Key>HKLM\Software\Microsoft</Key> <Name>Version</Name> <Value>3.5</Value> <DetailedPlugin Type=""DetailedRegsitryPlugin""> <Message>I am a detailed registry plugin</Message> </DetailedPlugin> </Plugin> </Client> "; for this i modified my classes to the following: public abstract class Plugin { public string Type { get; set; } public string Message { get; set; } public DetailedPlugin DetailedPlugin { get; set; } // new } public class FilePlugin : Plugin { public string Path { get; set; } } public class RegsitryPlugin : Plugin { public string Key { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Value { get; set; } } // new classes: public abstract class DetailedPlugin { public string Type { get; set; } public string Message { get; set; } } public class DetailedFilePlugin : Plugin { public string ExtraField1 { get; set; } } public class DetailedRegsitryPlugin : Plugin { public string ExtraField2{ get; set; } } from here i need some help to accomplish reading the xml and create the plugins with the nested DetailedPlugin

  • Difference between var and Class class in object creation

    - by Divine
    Its a silly question, however shocked to see different behaviors. Learning a lot. Lets say I have two classes below Class A { public void Display() { } } Class B : A { public void Display() { } } Class C : B { public void Display() { } } Class Final { static void Main() { var c = new C(); // B c = new C(); //My doubt is, both of the above gives different results. May I know B c = new C() creates object of B or C? What I understood is, it creates object of B. Then why we say "new C()"? I agree with C c = new C(); But I thought, B b = new C(); creates object of B. Where we use this style? Only when utilizing runtime polymorphism? (Overriding methods)? } }

  • How to set the ReturnUrl for the Login link in MVC 3 app?

    - by user762196
    using System; using Microsoft.Practices.Unity; namespace <MyNameSpace> { public class UrlFactory { public static UrlFactory Current { get { return HttpApplicationUnityContext.Current.Resolve<UrlFactory>(); } } public string GetLoginUrl() { return String.Format("{0}/login?ReturnUrl={1}", MyConfig.BaseHttpUrl, <GET_PAGE_URL>); } } The user can be on any page on the site and click the Login link. But the ReturnUrl must always point to the exact page where he clicked it. I must take the user back to the page he clicked the login link. In my code above, how do I get the page url in <GET_PAGE_URL>? Thanks

  • FindBugs and CheckForNull on classes vs. interfaces

    - by ndn
    Is there any way to let FindBugs check and warn me if a CheckForNull annotation is present on the implementation of a method in a class, but not on the declaration of the method in the interface? import javax.annotation.CheckForNull; interface Foo { public String getBar(); } class FooImpl implements Foo { @CheckForNull @Override public String getBar() { return null; } } public class FindBugsDemo { public static void main(String[] args) { Foo foo = new FooImpl(); System.out.println(foo.getBar().length()); } } I just discovered a bug in my application due to a missing null check that was not spotted by FindBugs because CheckForNull was only present on FooImpl, but not on Foo, and I don't want to spot all other locations of this problem manually.

  • How do I simplify these NUNit tests?

    - by Lucas Meijer
    These three tests are identical, except that they use a different static function to create a StartInfo instance. I have this pattern coming up all trough my testcode, and would love to be be able to simplify this using [TestCase], or any other way that reduces boilerplate code. To the best of my knowledge I'm not allowed to use a delegate as a [TestCase] argument, and I'm hoping people here have creative ideas on how to make the code below more terse. [Test] public void ResponseHeadersWorkinPlatform1() { DoResponseHeadersWorkTest(Platform1StartInfo.CreateOneRunning); } [Test] public void ResponseHeadersWorkinPlatform2() { DoResponseHeadersWorkTest(Platform2StartInfo.CreateOneRunning); } [Test] public void ResponseHeadersWorkinPlatform3() { DoResponseHeadersWorkTest(Platform3StartInfo.CreateOneRunning); } void DoResponseHeadersWorkTest(Func<ScriptResource,StartInfo> startInfoCreator) { ScriptResource sr = ScriptResource.Default; var process = startInfoCreator(sr).Start(); //assert some things here }

  • C# Inherited member variables behaving undexpectedly

    - by Nilbert
    If I have a class like this: class A { public string fe = "A"; } And a class that inherits from it like so: class B : A { public string fe = "B"; } Visual C++ will tell me that B.fe hides A.fe so I should use the new keyword. So I change class B to look like: class B : A { public new string fe = "B"; } And then I have a function that takes an A (but, by virtue of inheritance, will also take a B) like this: class D { public static void blah(A anAObject) { Console.Writeline(A.fe); } } Even when I pass it an instance of a B object, which it will take without question, it will print "A"! Why is this, and how can I make it work how I want without setting the variable in the constructor?

  • PHPUnit test for error thrown with wrong argument type

    - by Spencer Mark
    I'm just starting with PHPUnit and am ok with all assert* methods, but can't figure out how to test for error thrown when the wrong argument is provided to the method - say hinted with array like so: public function(array $list) { } and then tested with null as argument. Could someone please provide an example of how to test for this sort of errors? I've checked quite a few posts on stackoverflow, but couldn't find the answer to this specific issue. Edit Ok - just to give you an idea of what I'm testing - here's the ArrayHelper::removeIfValueIsEmpty() method: public static function removeIfValueIsEmpty(array $array) { if (empty($array)) { return array(); } return array_filter($array, function($value) { return !Helper::isEmpty($value); }); } and now test: class ArrayHelperTest extends PHPUnit_Framework_TestCase { public function testRemoveIfValueIsEmpty() { $this->assertEmpty( \Cmd\Helper\ArrayHelper::removeIfValueIsEmpty(null), '\Cmd\Helper\ArrayHelper::removeIfValueIsEmpty method failed (checking with null as argument)' ); } } This throws an error: PHPUnit_Framework_Error : Argument 1 passed to Cmd\Helper\ArrayHelper::removeIfValueIsEmpty() must be of the type array, null given

  • Why must use "out" instead of ref ?

    - by Phsika
    i wrote some code blocks about ref -out declaration. i think that ref is most useful out. Ok. why i need to use out. i can use always ref everytime: namespace out_ref { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { sinifA sinif = new sinifA(); int test = 100; sinif.MethodA(out test); Console.WriteLine(test.ToString()); sinif.MethodB(ref test); Console.WriteLine(test.ToString()); Console.ReadKey(); } } class sinifA { public void MethodA(out int a) { a = 200; } int _b; public void MethodB(ref int b) { _b = b; b = 2*b; } } }

  • Ways to optimize Android App code based on function call stack?

    - by K-RAN
    I've been told that Android OS stores all function calls in a stack. This can lead to many problems and cause the 'hiccups' during runtime, even if a program is functionalized properly, correct? So the question is, how can we prevent this from happening? The obvious solution is to functionalize less, along with other sensible acts such as refraining from excessively/needlessly creating objects, performing static calls to functions that don't access fields, etc... Is there another way though? Or can this only be done through careful code writing on the programmers' part? Does the JVM/JIT automatically optimize the bytecode during compile time to account for this?? Thanks a lot for your responses!!

  • Correct way to add objects to an ArrayList

    - by ninjasense
    I am trying to add an object to an arraylist but when I view the results of the array list, it keeps adding the same object over and over to the arraylist. I was wondering what the correct way to implement this would be. public static ArrayList<Person> parsePeople(String responseData) { ArrayList<Person> People = new ArrayList<Person>(); try { JSONArray jsonPeople = new JSONArray(responseData); if (!jsonPeople.isNull(0)) { for (int i = 0; i < jsonPeople.length(); i++) { Person.add(new Person(jsonPeople.getJSONObject(i))); } } } catch (JSONException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } catch (Exception e) { } return People; } I have double checked my JSONArray data and made sure they are not duplicates. It seems to keep adding the first object over and over.

  • Right design to validate attributes of a class instance

    - by systempuntoout
    Having a simple Python class like this: class Spam(object): __init__(self, description, value): self.description = description self.value = value Which is the correct approach to check these constraints: "description cannot be empty" "value must be greater than zero" Should i: 1.validate data before creating spam object ? 2.check data on __init__ method ? 3.create an is_valid method on Spam class and call it with spam.isValid() ? 4.create an is_valid static method on Spam class and call it with Spam.isValid(description, value) ? 5.check data on setters? 6.... Could you recommend a well designed\Pythonic\not verbose (on class with many attributes)\elegant approach?

  • C++ String tokenisation from 3D .obj files

    - by Ben
    I'm pretty new to C++ and was looking for a good way to pull the data out of this line. A sample line that I might need to tokenise is f 11/65/11 16/70/16 17/69/17 I have a tokenisation method that splits strings into a vector as delimited by a string which may be useful static void Tokenise(const string& str, vector<string>& tokens, const string& delimiters = " ") The only way I can think of doing it is to tokenise with " " as a delimiter, remove the first item from the resulting vector, then tokenise each part by itself. Is there a good way to do this all in one?

  • How can I clear the Android app cache?

    - by Srao
    I am writing a app which can programatically clear application cache of all the third party apps installed on the device. Following is the code snippet for Android 2.2 public static void trimCache(Context myAppctx) { Context context = myAppctx.createPackageContext("com.thirdparty.game", Context.CONTEXT_INCLUDE_CO|Context.CONTEXT_IGNORE_SECURITY); File cachDir = context.getCacheDir(); Log.v("Trim", "dir " + cachDir.getPath()); if (cachDir!= null && cachDir.isDirectory()) { Log.v("Trim", "can read " + cachDir.canRead()); String[] fileNames = cachDir.list(); //Iterate for the fileName and delete } } My manifest has following permissions: android.permission.CLEAR_APP_CACHE android.permission.DELETE_CACHE_FILES Now the problem is that the name of the cache directory is printed but the list of files cachDir.list() always returns null. I am not able to delete the cache directory since the file list is always null. Is there any other way to clear the application cache?

  • why optimization does not happen?

    - by aaa
    hi. I have C/C++ code, that looks like this: static int function(double *I) { int n = 0; // more instructions, loops, for (int i; ...; ++i) n += fabs(I[i] > tolerance); return n; } function(I); // return value is not used. compiler inlines function, however it does not optimize out n manipulations. I would expect compiler is able to recognize that value is never used as rhs only. Is there some side effect, which prevents optimization? Thanks

  • GWT formating flextable content & Panel create on the fly

    - by graybow
    I have a project showing comments database I put the comments in FlexTable TabelKomen and I put the text in HTML format like this: private static final int y=1; public void UpdateTabelKomen(JsArray str){ for(int i=0; i str.length(); i++){ UpdateTabelKomen(str.get(i)); } } public void UpdateTabelKomen(ImageDetailData str){ TabelKomen.setWidget(y, 0, new HTML(str.getmember + "'s comment :" + str.getkomen())); TabelKomen.getFlexCellFormatter().setWordWrap(y, 0, true); y++; } The data was shown, but my text comment is not word wraped and make my flex table wider. Of course that will ruin my web appearance. I change new HTML with new ScrolPanel(new HTML) seems not working. so How can I Format my FlexTable? is there any option beside flextable or scrollpanel?

  • C# & C++, runtime error when call C++ dll from C#

    - by 5YrsLaterDBA
    I have written a C++ wrapper DLL for C# to call. The DLL was tested and worked fine with my C++ test program. now integrated with C#, I got runtime error and crashed. Cannot use debugger to see more details. The C++ side has only one method: #ifdef DLLWRAPPERWIN32_EXPORTS #define DLLWRAPPERWIN32_API __declspec(dllexport) #else #define DLLWRAPPERWIN32_API __declspec(dllimport) #endif #include "NB_DPSM.h" extern "C" { DLLWRAPPERWIN32_API int WriteGenbenchDataWrapper(string fileNameToAnalyze, string parameterFileName, string baseNameToSaveData, string logFileName, string& message) ; } in the C# side, there is a definition, [DllImport("..\\..\\thirdParty\\cogs\\DLLWrapperWin32.dll")] public static extern int WriteGenbenchDataWrapper(string fileNameToAnalyze, string parameterFileName, string baseNameToSaveData, string logFileName, ref string message); and a call: string msg = ""; int returnVal = WriteGenbenchDataWrapper(rawDataFileName, parameterFileName, outputBaseName, logFileName, ref msg); I guess there must be something wrong with the last parameter of the function. string& in C++ should be ref string in C#?

  • Dynamically load a type from an external assembly

    - by Water Cooler v2
    From managed code, how do I load a managed type from another assembly at runtime, assuming the calling code does not have a static reference to the assembly? To clarify, let's say I have class Lib in Lib.cs compiled into Lib.dll. I want to write a class Foo in a separate assembly called Foo.dll, that does not have a reference to Lib.dll statically, but instead loads Lib.dll and then reflects on for the presence of the class Lib and then calls a method on it. Sorry for such an obvious question on Reflection. I figure it'll take much lesser time to get the answer on a forum that to read a few articles.

How can I fix this please?
