  • SEO - Does google+other search engines index links within <noscript> tags?

    I have setup some dropdown menus allowing users to find pages on my website by selecting options across multiple dropdowns: eg. Color of Car, Year This would generate a link like: mysite.xyz/blue/2010/ The only problem is, because this link is dynamically assembled with Javascript, I've also had to assemble each possible combination from the dropdowns into a list like: <noscript> No javascript enabled? Here are all the links: <a href='mysite.xyz/blue/2009/'>mysite.xyz/blue/2009/</a> <a href='mysite.xyz/blue/2010/'>mysite.xyz/blue/2010/</a> <a href='mysite.xyz/red/2009/'>mysite.xyz/red/2009/</a> <a href='mysite.xyz/red/2010/'>mysite.xyz/red/2010/</a> </noscript> My question is, if I put these in a tag like this, will I be penalized or anything by search engines such as Google? I've already been doing so for some navigational stuff which required offsets etc. However, now I would be listing a whole list of links here too. I want to provide them here, moreso so that google can actually index my pages - but for those without javascript, they can still navigate too. Your thoughts? Also.. even though I have some links that appear to have been indexed, I AM NOT 100% SURE, which is why I'm asking :P

  • WindowsPhone App data connection FAILS in MarketPlace published App but WORKS in Visual Studio development (same XAP)

    Tearing my hair out(!) My last App update has been accepted and released by MarketPlace but the remote server data connection does NOT work/connect from the downloaded App (from MarketPlace). However, the same App (the accepted XAP) when I'm running it from Visual Studio, using the same remote server address works just fine. WHY!... Has anyone else ever run into anything like this? Here's the remote path: http://www.streamcommunication.com/ZenAwaken/DownloadableCollections.xml I can load that to a browser and retrieve the XML When I'm in Visual Studio I can connect via that path and retrieve the file and consume the data BUT!! The exact same XAP which has been accepted and distributed by Windows Phone marketplace FAILS. Is it possible that MarketPlace does something (encryption?) to the XAP that would corrupt the path string? Any thoughts or experiences would be very helpful! Tom

  • SSRS Parameters Displaying incorrectly

    Basically, I have a datetime parameter, after picking a date with the calendar widget, the date will display correctly (12/1/2010 or 1-DEC-2010). If the parameter tab refreshes in any way, either from report processing or changing another of the parameters, the date flips the month and day (1-DEC-2010 becomes 12-Jan-2010, or 12/1/2010 becomes 1/12/2010). I'm utilizing the SSRS plugin for C# (Microsoft.Reporting.Winforms.ReportViewer). Has anyone seen anything like this?

    I am working on an enterprise level product that is designed around SQL Express Database ( views,concurrent users,stored procedures,case,IF).Though we dont use any SQL Server advanced features, if the database size of 4Gb in express ends up being a limitation customers can move to advanced versions of SQL Server. However my problem is, SQL Express deployment is not easy and the installer size is huge. This is a major drawback for someone looking to try our product.You dont want end users to not buy a product becos the download is huge. Does anyone have any recommendations of a database that has a smaller footprint but all the features of Express and which can be migrated to express?

    I have about had it with this tool, I check the save password box at the login dialogue but it just doesn't work. Sometimes it will for a few days, and then the password will just be gone. Nearly every time I load this thing up I have to track down the password again and type it in. Is there some password rule in the database that would be causing this?     I see various topics on this around stack overflow but none that fit the contect of MS-Access... Given a starting date and an ending date, is there a way through SQL to return records for each given month within the time frame? EG: Between #1/1/2010# and #12/31/2010# results #1/4/2010# #1/11/2010# ..... #12/27/2010# Restrictions MS-Access 2003 :No Case/Loops inside the SQL (IIF statements are good) This is a view only, NO VBA will be used since the data will not be tampered with. Disconnected recordset is my last option. I would prefer to find out theres some way to call your customized functions in the SQL to help return these values... some class stored on a global scope while you iterate through this date range maybe... Is this possible? I see many no's, but if there was a way to pass a value into a function I could find a way to make this work. Sad that I don't have a way to simulate a stored procedure without using a d/c recordset, at least that I know of... any experts out there know a way?
