• WPF Debugging AvalonEdit binding to Document property.

  Hello, all day long I am sitting and trying to find out why binding to AvalonEdits Document property isn't working. AvalonEdit is an advanced WPF text editor - part of the SharpDevelop project.(it's going to be used in SharpDevelop v4 Mirador). So when I set up a simple project - one TextEditor (that's the AvalonEdits real name in the library) and made a simple class that has one property - Document and it returns a dummy object with some static text the binding is working perfectly. However in real life solution I'm binding a collection of SomeEditor objects to TabControl. What I've investigated so far: DataContext of TextEditor is set to the proper instance of SomeEditor TextEditors Document property is set to some other instance than SomeEditor.Document property when I set breakpoint to no-op converter that is attached to that binding it shows me the correct value for Document (the converter is used!) I also dug through the VisualTree to obtain reference to TextEditor and called GetBindingExpression(TextEditor.DocumentProperty) and this did return nothing WPF produces the following information: System.Windows.Data Information: 10 : Cannot retrieve value using the binding and no valid fallback value exists; using default instead. BindingExpression:Path=Document; DataItem='SomeEditor' (HashCode=26280264); target element is 'TextEditor' (Name='avalonEdit'); target property is 'Document' (type 'TextDocument') SomeEditor instance that is bound to already has a created and cached copy of Document before the binding occurs. The getter is never called. Anyone can tell me what might be wrong? Why BindingExpression isn't set ? Why property getter is never called?

• WPF animation: binding to the "To" attribute of storyboard animation.

  Hi, I'm trying to create a button that behaves similarly to the "slide" button on the iPhone. I have an animation that adjusts the position and width of the button, but I want these values to be based on the text used in the control. Currently, they're hardcoded. If I bind the values to an ActualWidth of an element in the ControlTemplate, the control comes up as a blank checkbox (my base class). However, I'm binding to the same ActualWidths in the ControlTemplate itself without any problems. Just seems to be the CheckBox.Resources that have a problem with it. For instance, the following will break it: <DoubleAnimation Storyboard.TargetName="CheckButton" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Button.Width)" Duration="{StaticResource AnimationTime}" To="{Binding ElementName=CheckedText, Path=ActualWidth}" /> I don't know whether this is because it's trying to bind to a value that doesn't exist until a render pass is done, or if it's something else.   I know something similar has been asked already, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find a reliable answer - even with searching for over 2 days. The basic problem is the same as asked multiple time.   Hi All, I'm currently struggling with this "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" issue. I have searched about this error message, and it's all related to the foreach statement. I do have the some foreach statements, but they are just simply representing the data. I did not using any remove or add inside the foreach statement. NOTE: The error randomly happens (about 4-5 times a day). The application is the MVC website. There are about 5 users operate this applications (about 150 orders a day). Could it be some another users modified the collection, and then occur this error? I have log4net setup and the settings can be found here Make sure that the controller has a parameterless public constructor I do have parameterless public constructor in AdminProductController Does anyone know why this happen and how to resolve this issue? A friend (Oskar) mentioned that "Theory: Maybe the problem is that your configuration and session factory is initialized on the first request after application restart. If a second request comes in before the first request is finished, maybe it will also try to initialize and then triggering this problem somehow." Many thanks. • NSDictionary - Read BOOL from Internet-Downloaded Plist

  Hi, I am downloading a PLIST file from my server using NSURLDownload. Once it is downloaded, I read the file using NSDictionary's dictionaryWithContentsOfFile: method. I need to read a BOOL value, so this is my code: if ([dict objectForKey:string] == [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES]) This however always returns NO, no matter what the value is. The same happens if I replace the == with isEqual:. Am I doing this wrong?

• HTTP Builder/Groovy - lost 302 (redirect) handling?

  Dear All: I am reading here http://groovy.codehaus.org/modules/http-builder/doc/handlers.html "In cases where a response sends a redirect status code, this is handled internally by Apache HttpClient, which by default will simply follow the redirect by re-sending the request to the new URL. You do not need to do anything special in order to follow 302 responses." This seems to work fine when I simply use the get() or post() methods without a closure. However, when I use a closure, I seem to lose 302 handling. Is there some way I can handle this myself? Thank you p.s.   In silverlight, I can not get INotifyPropertyChanged to work like I want it to when binding to a dictionary. In the example below, the page binds to the dictionary okay but when I change the content of one of the textboxes the CustomProperties property setter is not called. The CustomProperties property setter is only called when CustomProperties is set and not when the values within it are set. I am trying to do some validation on the dictionary values and so am looking to run some code when each value within the dictionary is changed. Is there anything I can do here? • Howto - Running Redmine on mongrel as a service on windows

  I use Redmine on Mongrel as a project manager and I use a batch file (start-redmine.bat) to start the redmine in mongrel. There are 2 issues with my setup: 1. I have a running IIS on the server that occupies the HTTP port (80) 2. The start-redmine.bat must be periodically checked to see if it's stopped after a restart that is caused by windows update service. for the first issue, I have no choice but running mongrel on a port like 3000 and for the second issue I have to create a windows service that runs automatically in the background when the windows starts; and here comes the trouble! There are at least 3 ways to run redmine as a service that I'm aware of; none of them can satisfy a performance view on this subject. you may read about them on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/877943/how-to-configure-a-rails-app-redmine-to-run-as-a-service-on-windows I tried them all. The easiest way to setup such a service is using mongrel_service approach; in 3 lines of command you're done. but the performance is significantly lower than running that batch file... Now, I wanna show you my approach: First suppose we have ruby installed into c:\ruby and we have issued the command gem install mongrel to get the mongrel gem installed into c:\ruby\bin Also, suppose we have installed the Redmine into a folder like c:\redmine; and we have ruby's path (i.e. c:\ruby\bin) in our PATH environment variable. Now Download and install the Windows NT Resource Kit Tools from microsoft website. Open the command-line tool that comes with the Resource Kit (from start menu). Use instsrv to install a dummy service called Redmine using the following command: "[path-to-instsrv.exe]\instsrv" Redmine "[path-to-srvany.exe]\srvany.exe" in my case (which is the default case) it was something like this: "C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\instsrv" Redmine "C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\srvany.exe" Now create the batch file. Open a notepad and paste these instructions into it and then save it as "c:\redmine\start-redmine.bat" @echo off cd c:\redmine\ mongrel_rails start -a 0.0.0.0 -p 3000 -e production Now we need to configure that dummy service we had created before. WATCH OUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING FROM HERE ON, OR YOU MAY CORRUPT YOUR WINDOWS. To configure that service, open windows registry editor (Start - Run - regedit) and navigate to this node: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Redmine Right-Click on "Redmine" node and using the context menu, create a new key called Parameters (New - Key) Right-Click on "Parameters" and create a String Value property called Application. Do this again and create another String Value called AppParameters. Now Double-click on "Application" and put cmd.exe into "Value data" section. Then Double-click on "AppParameters" and put /C "C:\redmine\start-redmine.bat" into Value data section. We're done! issue this command to run the redmine on mongrel as a service: net start Redmine

• Run MySQL INSERT Query multiple times (insert values into multiple tables)

  Hi, basically, I have 3 tables; users and projects (which is a many-to-many relationship), then I have 'usersprojects' to allow the one-to-many formation. When a user adds a project, I need the project information stored and then the 'userid' and 'projectid' stored in the usersprojects table. It sounds like its really straight forward but I'm having problems with the syntax I think!? As it stands, I have this as my INSERT queries (values going into 2 different tables): $project_id = $_POST['project_id']; $projectname = $_POST['projectname']; $projectdeadline = $_POST['projectdeadline']; $projectdetails = $_POST['projectdetails']; $user_id = $_POST['user_id']; $sql = "INSERT INTO projects (projectid, projectname, projectdeadline, projectdetails) VALUES ('{$projectid}','{$projectname}','{$projectdeadline}','{$projectdetails}')"; $sql = "INSERT INTO usersprojects (userid, projectid) VALUES ('{$userid}','{$projectid}')"; None of the information is being stored in the projects table, but the user ID is being stored in the usersprojects table (but not project ID!?)... I did have it working where the project information is stored correctly with a project ID, before I added this bit: $sql = "INSERT INTO usersprojects (userid, projectid) VALUES ('{$userid}','{$projectid}')"; But before the code above was put in, obviously no info is being stored in usersprojects table. For the life of me I cannot figure out what combination of expression editing or format editing I need to use. For the detail portion I can use: =DATEADD("s", SUM(Fields!Talk_Time.Value), CDate("00:00")) And it will return: 1/1/0001 12:00:14 AM Now I can use =LEFT(DATEADD("s", SUM(Fields!Talk_Time.Value), CDate("00:00")),8) Which will return: 12:00:14 But really what I need is: 00:00:14 Please help!

  Well lets say i have an object that i databind to, it implements INotifyPropertyChanged to tell the GUI when a value has changed... if i trigger this from a different thread than the GUI thread how would wpf behave? and will it make sure that it gets the value of the property from memory and not the cpu cache? more or less im asking if wpf does lock() on the object containing the property...

  Hello, I'm getting the error "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined" when customizing it. I've made several changes to the configuration files and UI, but I keep getting this error. It isn't logging it too in the event log nor the log files, which makes it very annoying to debug. So how do I figure out where the error is coming from? Is it with the URL that's pointing to the ReportServer2005.asmx file, or something else? • WPF-Prism CanExecute method not being called

  I am coding a simple login UserControl with two TextBoxes (Username and Password) and a Login button. I want the Login button to be enabled only when the username and password fields are filled in. I am using Prism and MVVM. The LoginViewModel contains a property called LoginCommand that is bound to the Login button. I have a CanLoginExecute() method in my ViewModel but it fires only when the application comes up and then never again. So the Login button is never enabled. What am I missing?   Hi, I've this: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); http://www.jsonlint.com/ says it's perfectly valid json. But on execution I have a JSON.parse error. But, if I change my code to: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); (note the double backslash) It works, but now jsonlint gives me invalid json :/ Can someone help to understand this behavior?
