Advance way of using UIView convertRect method to detect CGRectIntersectsRect multiple times

I recently asked a question regarding collision detection within subviews, with a perfect answer. I've come to the last point in implementing the collision on my application but I've come across a new issue. Using convertRect was fine getting the CGRect from the subView. I needed it to be a little more complex as it wasn't exactly rectangles that needed to be detected. on XCode I created an abstract class called TileViewController. Amongst other properties it has a IBOutlet UIView *detectionView; I now have multiple classes that inherit from TileViewController, and each class there are multiple views nested inside the detectionView which I have created using Interface Builder. The idea is an object could be a certain shape or size, I've programatically placed these 'tiled' detection points bottom center of each object. A user can select an item and interactive with it, in this circumstance move it around. A simplified version of this method works - Using CGRectIntersectsRect on the detectionView itself so I'm wondering if I'm looping through and checking the views correctly? I wasn't sure whether it was comparing in the same view but I suspect it is, I did modify the code slightly at one point, rather then comparing the values in self.view I took the viewController.detectView's UIViews into the interactiveView.detectView but the outcome was the same. It's rigged so the subviews change colour, but they change colour when they are not even touching, and when they do touch the wrong UIviews are changing colour Many thanks in advance

I have to do this.sp1.MyTemplateContainer.FindControl("ownerBox") to get the control. How can I make it so that the C# Code Behind will have the controls generated and not null in my Page_Load event so that developers can just do this: testNameBox.Text = "foo"; ownerBox.Text = "bar"; descriptionBox.Text = "baz";

Partial view links not working in Fire Fox

I have a MVC4 asp.net application, I have two layouts a main layout for the main page and a second layout for the nested pages. The problem I have is with the second layout, on this layout I call a partial view which has my navigation links. In IE the navigation menu displays fine and when each item is clicked it navigates as expected. However in FF when the page renders the navigation bar is displayed but it has no 'click functionality' if you will its as if its simply text. iPhone UIWebView local resources using Javascript and handling onorientationChange

I'm trying to server HTML Javascript and CSS content from an iPhone application's local resources, and I'm having trouble handling onOrientationChange events and including external Javascript. I seem to be able to link in CSS properly but not javascript. I'm trying to use the following example of handling onOrientationChange (How to build an iPhone website) but I'm serving the webpage from my app's NSBundle mainBundle. Hi! I'm looking for a simplest way to remove duplication in my WPF code. Code below is a simple traffic light with 3 lights - Red, Amber, Green. It is bound to a ViewModel that has one enum property State taking one of those 3 values. Code declaring 3 ellipses is very duplicative. Now I want to add animation so that each light fades in and out - styles will become even bigger and duplication will worsen. Below part of a tumblr theme I'm working on and you will notice that I use the {block:PostType} syntax to declare the opening tag of each post, which is a <li> element in an Ordered List. This allows me to not only dynamicly set the li's class based on the type of post but cuts down on the number of times I'm calling the ShareThis JS which was really bogging down the page. This creates a new issue though which I believe is a flaw in Tumblr's parser. Each post is an ordered list with one <li> element in it. I know I could solve this by having each post as a <div> but I really like the control and semantics of using a list. Tumblr gurus? Suggestions? xamlparser error after clickonce deployment.Application crashing after installation

Hello Good People, I've built an WPF application with visual studio 2008 and created an installer for it.Works fine so far.I realized it lacks the automatic updates feature, and after trying several solutions, i decided to give a try to clickonce deployment.After a successful deployment on a network server, i 've noticed that the application crashes after installation of the downloaded app.It complains about this: Cannot create instance of 'Login' defined in assembly 'MyApplication, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. Sporadic EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) when in 64 bit mode

For some reason for a low-number of users (say 1 in a few hundred) the application seem to crash when run in 64bit mode on a Snow Leopard 10.6.3 I've attached the code, but please remind IT IS NOT A CODE issue. Any suggestions other then running the application in 32 bit only? Please do not dilute the feedback by asking for or blaming the code, the code is 100% solid, guaranteed! No memory leaks, the crashes clearly are triggered in 32 bit mode only just after start inside the AppKit itself like deep inside NSThread sleep's callstack.

java.rmi.UnmarshalException: unable to pull client classes by server

Hi, I have an RMI client/server set-up on two machines that works fine in a simple situation when the server doesn't require a client-side defned class. However, when I need to use a class defined on the client side I am unable to have the server unmarshall those classes. I suspect this is an issue with my java.rmi.server.codebase property that I pass in as argument to the client app. I followed Sun's RMI Tutorial trail and I think I have followed the steps exactly except that I don't specify a classpath argument when executing client and server because they execute in the directory right above the root package directory (however I tried that too with no effect). Other notes: 1 my server and client policy files correctly specify the path, as I've tested this setup with good and bad paths, and getting a security exception for bad path 2 this setup works if I don't use client-side defined objects, the client connects correctly to the server and the server executes. 3 when I place the client-side class on the server in the server's classpath, all executes fine. All help is appreciated.

Hibernate : Foreign key constraint violation problem

I have a com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException in my code (using Hibernate and Spring) and I can't figure why. The table are innodb and I tried to drop all tables and recreate it the problem remains... EDIT : Well I think I have a start of answer... I change the log level of hibernate to DEBUG and before it crash I have the following log insert into Semspace (name, [...]) values (?, [...]) So it looks like it does not try to insert the idCorpus and as it is not null it uses the default value "0" which does not refers to an existing entry in Corpus table...

Stored proc running 30% slower through Java versus running directly on database

Hi All, I'm using Java 1.6, JTDS 1.2.2 (also just tried 1.2.4 to no avail) and SQL Server 2005 to create a CallableStatement to run a stored procedure (with no parameters). I am seeing the Java wrapper running the same stored procedure 30% slower than using SQL Server Management Studio. I've run the MS SQL profiler and there is little difference in I/O between the two processes, so I don't think it's related to query plan caching. The stored proc takes no arguments and returns no data. It uses a server-side cursor to calculate the values that are needed to populate a table. I can't see how the calling a stored proc from Java should add a 30% overhead, surely it's just a pipe to the database that SQL is sent down and then the database executes it....Could the database be giving the Java app a different query plan?? I've posted to both the MSDN forums, and the sourceforge JTDS forums (topic: "stored proc slower in JTDS than direct in DB") I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to why this might be happening? Executing procedure..."); stmt.executeQuery(); sLogger.info("Procedure complete."); I have run sql profiler, and found the following: Java app : CPU: 466,514 Reads: 142,478,387 Writes: 284,078 Duration: 983,796 SSMS : CPU: 466,973 Reads: 142,440,401 Writes: 280,244 Duration: 769,851 (Both with DBCC DROPCLEANBUFFERS run prior to profiling, and both produce the correct number of rows) So my conclusion is that they both execute the same reads and writes, it's just that the way they are doing it is different, what do you guys think? It turns out that the query plans are significantly different for the different clients (the Java client is updating an index during an insert that isn't in the faster SQL client, also, the way it is executing joins is different (nested loops Vs. gather streams, nested loops Vs index scans, argh!)). Quite why this is, I don't know yet (I'll re-post when I do get to the bottom of it) Epilogue I couldn't get this to work properly. I tried homogenising the connection properties (arithabort, ansi_nulls etc) between the Java and Mgmt studio clients. It ended up the two different clients had very similar query/execution plans (but still with different actual plan_ids). I posted a summary of what I found to the MSDN SQL Server forums as I found differing performance not just between a JDBC client and management studio, but also between Microsoft's own command line client, SQLCMD, I also checked some more radical things like network traffic too, or wrapping the stored proc inside another stored proc, just for grins. I have a feeling the problem lies somewhere in the way the cursor was being executed, and it was somehow giving rise to the Java process being suspended, but why a different client should give rise to this different locking/waiting behaviour when nothing else is running and the same execution plan is in operation is a little beyond my skills (I'm no DBA!). As a result, I have decided that 4 days is enough of anyone's time to waste on something like this, so I will grudgingly code around it (if I'm honest, the stored procedure needed re-coding to be more incremental instead of re-calculating all data each week anyway), and chalk this one down to experience. I'll leave the question open, big thanks to everyone who put their hat in the ring, it was all useful, and if anyone comes up with anything further, I'd love to hear some more options...and if anyone finds this post as a result of seeing this behaviour in their own environments, then hopefully there's some pointers here that you can try yourself, and hope fully see further than we did. TinyMCE include crashes IE8

I am trying to open a popup onclick using a function call as shown below. <a id="forgotPasswordLink" href="#" onclick="openSupportPage(document.getElementById('forgotPasswordLink').innerHTML);"> Some Text </a> I am creating the HTML for the pop up page on the fly and also including the TinyMCE source file over there. The code is as shown below: <script type="text/javascript">  </script> The support.js file contains the following. function inittextarea() { tinyMCE.init({ elements : "content", mode : "exact", theme : "advanced", readonly : true, setup : function(ed) { ed.onInit.add(function() { tinyMCE.activeEditor.execCommand("mceToggleVisualAid"); }); } }); } The problem arises when the onclick event is fired and the pop up opens up, IE8 stops responding and seems to hang. It is working fine on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I feel that the issue is because of TinyMCE script inclusion because on commenting the lines that include the tiny_mce.js and the support_page.js, the popup renders with no issues. I am also using the latest TinyMCE release. Please let me know why this is happening and what could be the resolution.

Forms Authentication works on dev server but not production server (same SQL db)

I have a SQL Server 2008 database with ASP.NET Forms Authentication, profiles and roles created and is functional on the development workstation. I can login using the created users without problem. I back up the database on the development computer and restore it on the production server. I xcopy the DLLs and ASP.NET files to the server. I make the necessary changes in the web.config, changing the SQL connection strings to point to the production server database and upload it. I've made sure to generate a machine key and it is the same on both the development web.config and the production web.config. And yet, when I try to login on the production server, the same user that I'm able to login successfully with on the development computer, fails on the production server. There is other content in the database, the schema generated by FluentNHibernate. This content is able to be queried successfully on both development and production servers. This is mind boggling, I believe I've verified everything, but obviously it is still not working and I must have missed something. Please, any ideas? Answer: I ran into a problem with similar symptoms at one point by forgetting to set the applicationName attribute in the web.config under the membership providers element. Users are associated to a specific application. Since I didn't set the applicationName, it defaulted to the application path (something like "/MyApplication"). When it was moved to production, the path changed (for example to "/WebSiteFolder/SomeSubFolder /MyApplication"), so the application name defaulted to the new production path and an association could not be made to the original user accounts that were set up in development. Could your issues possibly be the same as mine? I have this already in my web.config but still get the issue. xaml : Retrigger opacity animation on multiple conditions

I am trying to display a message, and depending on the type of message keep it displayed( + having a background), or having it fade out by a double animation on the opacity property (+ having a transparent background). My xaml view has a game object as datacontext, which has a dependency property of type GameMessage, of which the constructor looks like this: public GameMessage(bool containsMessage, string message, bool canFadeAway) { ContainsMessage = containsMessage; Message = message; CanFadeAway = canFadeAway; } pretty straight forward, I want to display the message when ContainsMessage =equals true, and trigger a fade out animation if canFadeAway equals true. The opcacity remains 0, and messages only get restored again when I have a message of kind true,"msg,false. After the animation, the opacity is 0, and where I would expect the second multidatatrigger to set it back to 8, and then have the animation performed by the Datatrigger, it doesnt. What would be the best way to get this working ?

Simple show/hide jQuery troubles

Okay, I feel like a bit of a 800 pound gorilla trying to thread a needle when it comes to jQuery. I need a script that will preform a simple show/hide (preferably with a nice sliding in and out) on a list. Ideally when the li they are nested within ("li.tier_1") is clicked it's child ul will have the hide class removed and the li's contained within will slideout, but at the same time should check all the other ul.tier_2's and be sure they get a hide class--so only one theme can be expanded at a time. wso2 ESB: server configuration CRITICAL

My Scenario: I have server_1 (192.168.10.1) with wso2-ESB and server_2 (192.168.10.2) with Glassfish-v3 + web services. Problem: I am trying to create a proxy in ESB using the java Web Services, but the created proxy does not respond properly. The log says: Unable to sendViaPost for http or https does not change the result. I think I should configure the axis2.xml but I am having trouble, and don't know what to do. What is the configuration for my scenario? Please help me! EDIT: To be clear, I can directly consume the WebService in the Glassfish server, it works normal, both port and url are accessible. Only when I create a "Pass through Proxy" in the ESB, it does not work. I don't think is matter of Proxy configuration...I never had problems while deployed locally, problems started once I have uploaded the ESB to a remote server. I really would need someone to point me what is the correct procedure when installing the ESB on a remote host: configuration of axis2.xml and carbon.xml, ports, transport receivers etc... P.S. Python RSS Feeder + Jquery RSS Reader

I'm trying to implement an RSS Feeder in python using PyRSS2Gen and it created an XML file. Now in jQuery I'm using Google Ajax API's RSS reader and trying to read it. I get an error saying something is wrong. I'm unable to figure out the issue. I've checked some documentation but not able to get it. Symfony sfDoctrineGuard plugin sfGuardUser module

When using sfDoctrineGuard plugin, it automatically generates the backend administration functionality where I can edit users of the system and assign them permissions. So I visit http://.../backend_dev.php/sf_guard_user/:id/edit where I am presented with the user's information including the available permissions to select. By default the permissions are shown as a multiple select box, HTML follows: <select name="sf_guard_user[permissions_list][]" multiple="multiple" id="sf_guard_user_permissions_list"> <option value="1">Permission1</option> <option value="2">Permission2</option> <option value="3">Permission3</option> <option value="4">Permission4</option> </select> What I would prefer is a list of checkboxes. So I searched around and found that if I add the option "expanded" set to true to the following code: 'permissions_list' => new sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice(array('multiple' => true, 'model' => 'sfGuardPermission', 'expanded' => true,)), The code is part of this file: lib/form/doctrine/sfDoctrineGuardPlugin/base/BasesfGuardUserForm.class.php. I don't think I should've edited this file (potential for changes to be overwritten should sfDoctrineGuard ever be re-installed) but couldn't think of another way to make it work. It would be easy if there was a template to edit but since I'm dealing with the Forms framework it is my understanding that the templates are generated on the fly - I can see them in my symonfy cache folder. How would I go about this? I started writing my own sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoicePermission class that extends the same class as sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice but am struggling to edit the rendering functions correctly for the desired output. Is this the correct way to go about this work? I also need to integrate my sfGuardUserProfile model into the edit user page (same as above), I read somwhere that editing the generator.yml file for the sfGuardUser plugin module and simply adding the field names from the sfGuardUserProfile table would make it work, but sadly it doesn't. Any help with any of my queries would be appreciated. Thanks

TableViewCell autorelease error

OK, for two days now i have been trying to solve an error i have inside the cellForRowAtIndex method, let start by saying that i have tracked down the bug to this method, the error is [CFDictionary image] or [Not a Type image] message sent to deallocated instance. I know about the debug flags, NSZombie, MallocStack, and others, they helped me narrow it down to this method and why, but I do not know how to solve besides a redesign of the app UI.
