  • DataBinding: ComboBox.Text not updating when SelectedValue changes?

    This is the relevant designer code for the ComboBox: Me.ProbationComboBox.DataBindings.Add(New System.Windows.Forms.Binding("Enabled", Me.RegistrationBindingSource, "IsRegistered", True)) Me.ProbationComboBox.DataBindings.Add(New System.Windows.Forms.Binding("SelectedValue", Me.RegistrationBindingSource, "ProbationID", True)) Me.ProbationComboBox.DataSource = Me.ProbationBindingSource Me.ProbationComboBox.DisplayMember = "probation" Me.ProbationComboBox.ValueMember = "id" The problem is that when I call RegistrationBindingSource.ResetCurrentItem(), the SelectedValue property is refreshed with the correct value from RegistrationBindingSource.ProbationID(). However, the Text property is not updated. Until I can figure out the problem with my binding, I've been doing this as a fix: Me.ProbationComboBox.Text = CType(CType(Me.ProbationBindingSource.Current, DataRowView).Row, RootNamespace.DataSet.probationRow).probation Any ideas? Your assistance is appreciated!

    Hi, I have downloaded WCF RIA Services Beta from the following website: WCF RIA Services Beta for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=76bb3a07-3846-4564-b0c3-27972bcaabce&displaylang=en#filelist But I am unable to add a reference to the following assembly : system.Windows.Ria.Data I searched at the downloaded location c:\Program files\Microsoft SDK's\RIA Services but i am unable to find this dll. Would appreciate if you could point me what I am missing here.

  • IoC and Design Time

    I have a WPF application which I am using to learn MVVM and IoC. The problem is that the Model used by one of the Views expects to pull one of its dependancies in the constructor from an IoC container. When working on this View in the Visual Studio designer it cannot show the design because an exception is being raised in the model. Is there a way around this? Am I pulling my dependancies in the wrong place in code or is there a way I can pass in constructed dependancies, perhaps through Constructor injection.   • Babel Obfuscator: Sample effective post build event for free version

    Does anyone have a sample post build event for Babel Obfuscator I can just copy and paste into my .net assembly release build configuration? The documentation for Babel is 54 pages long, and unfortunately doesn't come with any real world samples on how to use it with Visual Studio integration. Failing that , is there a free obfuscator out there that integrates well with VS 2008 post build, so that it will obfuscate the release DLL during each new build. I was using Eazfuscator which broke since they released version 2.8. Thank you

    Can I specify/use an existing task list from "another" website but from same site collection to be used in my Sequential Sharepoint Workflow? I am using Visual Studio to code the workflow, and it will be deployed in /subsite, the root site already has a task list to which everyone has connected to Outlook etc...Instead of creating a new task list in /subsite and asking concerned to subscribe to this new task list...I want to use the existing one..

    Hi, I have been looking for a way to migrate and upgrade our TFS 2008 server to 2010 server preferably without losing any data. I have been looking at the TFS Integration Platform http://tfsintegration.codeplex.com/ and also Visual Studio 2010 TFS Upgrade Guide vs2010upgradeguide.codeplex.com Looking at the document TFS Integration Platform - Migration Guidance.xps using the first link, it seems to suggest that I could preserve all the data by first migrating the TFS 2008 from one server to the other and then upgrade the TFS 2008 to 2010.   • C# - Layout problem on Windows XP professional

    I am developing a C# application with .NET Framework 2.0. The problem is, that on my client's PC, the controls get expanded, layout changes (positions of the controls gets changed), sometimes buttons get missed entirely. It happens even on Forms with 2-3 TextBoxes, 2-3 Buttons and some Labels. I tried a lot of investigations. I tried to show a message in the form's resize event. But it doesn't get called. After digging a bit more, it seemed that in Designer.cs file even though ResumeLayout (false) is being called for the form, but this causes the the expansion/disposition of the controls. My Client is using Windows XP professional on his Dell laptop. He is able to reproduce the issue on other laptops with Windows XP professional. But not in other OSes (like Windows XP Home or Windows Vista). In my desktop with Windows XP professional, it is not reproducible. How can this issue be resolved?

    I'm a long-time Eclipse user and I just now decided to try IntelliJ IDEA 9 (free edition) for Scala. A couple of dumb questions: How can I tell if a file I've modified has been saved? How can I tell if I file I've saved has been checked into CVS? I feel incredibly "exposed" to some sort of imminent danger when I don't see the familiar visual cues from Eclipse that indicate a file has been saved and/or checked in. Thanks

  • KML Layers Cursor CSS - Google Maps API v3

    I've run into a small problem with the semi-new KML Overlay functionality with Google Maps API v3, wherein while I am able to use "suppressInfoWindows: true;", the cursor still appears as though the overlay(s) are clickable. Is there a way at this time to change the css on the overlay(s) so that the cursor is the default cursor, so that they are purely visual, and don't confuse the user?
