    I am using Apache as web server and the return code is always HTTP/1.1 200. I want to set some kind of handler or use a mod to return HTTP/1.1 206 when the extension of the file requested is .mp4 so it can do video seeking, my web server is already returning some headers to do seeking, but it doesn't work. Is this possible?   • NGINX : Proxy pass intercepting 5xx errors - Possible to differentiate between ones fired by backed vs ones fired by nginx itself?

    We use proxy_intercept_errors ( http://wiki.nginx.org/HttpProxyModule#proxy_intercept_errors ) with our backends. We intercept a number of status codes, including a few 5xx ones. Our 5xx (each 500 has its own) handler has an access_log so we can see all the 5xx errors returned to the user in a nice clean logged format. The issue with this is that as it stands now, we cannot tell weather a 5xx was returned to the user by nginx or intercepted from our backend. Is there any way to differentiate between the two?   • Apache, Django with mod_wsgi, and large request buffering

    In my setup of Apache 2.2 MPM worker and Django 1.3 with mod_wsgi 2.8, I need to support large POST request payloads. The problem is that when there are many such simultaneous requests, Apache uses up all the memory in the system and then crashes. It seems that Apache is buffering the requests completely in memory before executing the WSGI handler and passing it the request. Is there any way to control request buffering in Apache?   • Problem with socket communication between C# and Flex

    Hi all, I am implementing a simulated b/s stock data system. I am using flex and c# for client and server sides. I found flash has a security policy and I handled the policy-file-request in my server code. But seems it doesn't work, because the code jumped out at "socket.Receive(b)" after connection. I've tried sending message on client in the connection handler, in that case the server can receive correct message. But the auto-generated "policy-file-request" can never be received, and the client can get no data sending from server.   • ObjectContext.SaveChanges() fails with SQL CE

    I am creating a model-first Entity Framework 4 app that uses SQL CE as its data store. All is well until I call ObjectContext.SaveChanges() to save changes to the entities in the model.   • How to start process as a daemon?

    I have created a service which consists of a web fronted (nginx), python runner glue handler (uwsgi) and my own python code (fetcher). I have made a script (deploy.sh) to start the difference services: nginx uwsgi --ini inifie.ini python fetcher.py & disown My question is regarding how I start my python daemon. I want it to run in the background. It should not print anything to my current terminal. If I add "print" calls to my fetcher script I currently see them in the terminal window. So my question is: how do I start my fetcher.py script as a daemon?

    There might have been a restriction on originating (making) calls (voice or data) from mobile phones without an explicit user permission i.e. a window would pop-up, asking the user to press 'Yes'/approve or 'No'/cancel for a call attempt made by a software application on that cellphone/mobile. There seems though to exist API for making calls, voice calls and data calls, on various embedded OS like WM, Symbian and Android. Do they require a user button-press then?

  • Web page width on LG mobile phone

    Hi I'm trying to develop a site for mobile phones. At the moment it seems to work on iphone and android htc desire and an n95. When I try it on an LG renoir instead of the page fitting the width of the screen the page displays at least twice as wide as it should meaning you can scroll left and right.     Greetings, I am wondering, whether anybody is using BufferedLogs On with Apache2 and found any issues ? Feature is marked as experimental, but for many years now, so I guess it's rather pretty stable. I am running some servers with constrained disk IO capacity at the moment, so I turned it on hoping that even a small benefit could help in the long run ;-) I do have several to several hundreds requests per seconds so by my thoughts there is really no need to write to log after each request, cause honestly I don't think that my filesystem is the best handler for many unnecessary writes. (OCFS2 shared among several DomUs in the Xen)

  • How can I register a custom protocol with xdg ?

    I've been struggling this morning trying to associate an application with a custom protocol, namely emacsclient and org-protocol. I'm calling this protocol from a webbrowser bookmarklet, and I get the following behaviour : In chromium, the "Launch Application" dialog comes up, and calls xdg-open org-protocol://... which ends up firing a new chromium frame. In firefox, I've tried setting network.protocol-handler.app.org-protocol to an empty string or my emacsclient path, anyhow I get the following error message : "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (org-protocol) isn't associated with any program" without even showing any external application selection dialog. I'm not using any desktop environment, so I need to make this work strictly with xdg, however, despite reading the shared mime info spec etc, I still can't fathom a working configuration.

  • Strange IIS/Asp.net Exception Message

    I have a standard asp.net 2.0 application running on IIS 6. I have noticed some strange exception messages in the logs. They seem to be caused by random spam bots trying to submit forms. They are strange because the request string is huge and all the exception details in the event manager are messed up, they have been replaced with %21,%22, etc.. as seen in the screen shot. Is this some kind of exploit or just a bug in the asp.net exception handler/logger ? UPDATE: I traced the requests that are causing this strange log event to a bug in IE8 that causes it to request scriptresource.axd?d={html from page} as described in these links: MS Connect SO - Invalid Webresource.axd SO - IE8 Dropping Memory Pages I am still not sure why these requests would break the IIS log event like seen above, they are just long strings of jiberish being sent to the server, maybe someone reading this can shed some light on it.

    When trying to call wave.getState() in my Google Wave gadget, I get back null (no state object). How can I initialize the Wave state object? I am working in the Wave Sandbox. My ModulePrefs contains the following: <Require feature="wave" /> <Require feature="rpc"/> I got the "rpc" feature from some google groups post when searching for a fix, but it doesn't seem to be any help.     Hi I am using Twitter4J API on GAE/J. I want to use the request token when user came to my page. (called back URL). And press refresh button. I write following code for that. But When user press refresh button. I got Authentication credentials error. Please see the stacktrance. It works fine when user first time used that token.   • Why do SNMP agents need MIB files?

    After reading up on SNMP and some of the questions help here I think understand the agent role as a SNMP service to device (Like SQL, it is an API to storage). When you execute a SQL query the SQL engine does all the work and returns the result - You don't need to be aware of how the storage and where the storage is done. But MIBs are not actual storage , so what is the role of my agent? if the agent only register the MIB like i follow in this tutorial, is it not used as handler at all? Say that I want monitor my application's pending request queue, so I want an agent that all SNMP request for application_pending_request will be fired for it and it will return the queue depth. Why do I need to have an actual MIB when all I need to poll my application queue in order to get result?

  • Can an iPhone/iPod Touch application open a port for remote communication without jailbreaking?

    I'm researching remote control testing for an app that'll be installed on the new iPod Touch and can't tell for certain from everything that I've read whether or not an installed app can or can't open any ports for remote test instructions (that's a mouthful : ) We created something like this for the Android using adb port forwarding and telnet, and it worked really well. Is there any chance something similar could be done on an iPhone or iPod without jailbreaking??

    Recently Google introduced an SDK for application usage tracking on mobile devices (Google Analytics for Mobile Apps). Unfortunately, it seems that it only supports IPhone and Android devices. Do you have any idea if this framework can somehow be used from Windows Mobile / Compact Framework applications or if Google is planning to release an SDK for WM? BTW, I don't mean a WM application for browsing through GA server reports, but an SDK for tracking your mobile app's usage.
