  • Creating a password-protected task in Windows 7

    - by Matthias
    I would like to configure a task like "child control software", so it would hibernate the pc at certain times. Is it possible to prevent modification (here: pausing) of a task through requiring the entering of the admin password to modify, EVEN THOUGH the currently-logged-in (and only) user is the admin account itself? (Do you know of any child control software that does NOT require an additional account yet is able to hibernate the system at certain times?) Thanks a lot!

  • Validation Summary for Lists using Data Annotations with MVC

    - by David Liddle
    I currently use a custom method to display validation error messages for lists but would like to replace this system for using with Data Annotations. In summary on validation of my form, I want to display "*" next to each input that is incorrect and also provide a Validation Summary at the bottom that relates each error message to the particular item in the list. e.g. say if validation failed on the 2nd list item on a Name input box and the 4th item on an Address input box the validation summary would display [2] Name is invalid [4] Address is invalid Please ignore if there are mistakes in the code below. I'm just writing this as an example. The code below shows how I was able to do it using my custom version of adding model errors but was wondering how to do this using Data Annotations? //Domain Object public class MyObject { public int ID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Address { get; set; } public bool IsValid { get { return (GetRuleViolations().Count() == 0); } } public void IEnumerable<RuleViolation> GetRuleViolations() { if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(Name)) yield return new RuleViolation(ID, "Name", "Name is invalid"); if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(Address)) yield return new RuleViolation(ID, "Address", "Address is invalid"); yield break; } } //Rule Violation public class RuleViolation { public int ID { get; private set; } public string PropertyName { get; private set; } public string ErrorMessage { get; private set; } } //View <% for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) { %> <p> <%= Html.Hidden("myObjects[" + i + "].ID", i) %> Name: <%= Html.TextBox("myObjects[" + i + "].Name") %> <br /> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("myObjects[" + i + "].Name", "*")<br /> Address: <%= Html.TextBox("myObjects[" + i + "].Address") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("myObjects[" + i + "].Address", "*")<br /> </p> <% } %> <p><%= Html.ValidationSummary() %> //Controller public ActionResult MyAction(IList<MyObject> myObjects) { foreach (MyObject o in myObjects) { if (!o.IsValid) ModelState.AddModelErrors(o.GetRuleViolations(), o.GetType().Name); } if (!Model.IsValid) { return View(); } } public static class ModelStateExtensions { public static void AddModelError(this ModelStateDictionary modelState, RuleViolation issue, string name) { string key = String.Format("{0}[{1}].{2}", name, issue.ID, issue.PropertyName); string error = String.Format("[{0}] {1}", (issue.ID + 1), issue.ErrorMessage); //above line determines the [ID] ErrorMessage to be //displayed in the Validation Summary modelState.AddModelError(key, error); }

  • Tools to (privately) annotate/markup a website for maintenance

    - by rob
    I've been tasked with updating a website. Rather than proofreading and updating each page (one at a time), I want to make a single pass over the entire website, marking graphics/images/videos that need to be rewritten, removed, or updated. I thought about taking screenshots, marking those up, and putting them in our bug-tracking database, but that seems like an extremely tedious solution. Some of the content is similar on various pages across the website, and the entire site itself is localized into several languages (so any changes made to the English version will have corresponding changes for other languages). I also want all of my markup to remain private (that is, if it's stored online somewhere, I should be the only person who can see my comments). I found an article that lists several website annotation services, but it's not clear whether they allow private annotations, or whether these tools are even appropriate for website maintenance (many of them look more geared toward social networking). I've started making a list of some necessary and desired features below, and may add more as necessary. Annotations/markup/comments remain private (only visible to me) Comment history/tagging (so I can reuse the same comment for shared footers, items requiring similar updates, etc.) Ability to print/export a list or report of all comments for the entire website Ability to produce a categorized list of changes (e.g., to produce a list of images that need updating, which I can send to the graphic designer) What processes and tools do you use to keep track of all the changes that need to be made to a website? What features are painfully absent from the tools you use?

  • Dynamic localization with Data Annotations possible?

    - by devries48
    Hi, I'm trying to dynamicly update the language of a Silverlight application. I tried the example provided by Tim Heuer and that was exactly wat I needed. Silverlight and localizing string data Now I'm experimenting with Data Annotations and would like to have the same behaviour.But with no luck... Can someone point me in the right direction. DataAnnotation of a property: [Display(Name = "UserNameLabel", ResourceType = typeof(Resources.Strings.StringResources))] [Required] public string Username ... My Xaml: <dataInput:Label Target="{Binding ElementName=tbUserName}" PropertyPath="UserName"/> Thanks, Ron

  • MKMapView - viewForAnnotation not called while loading more results

    - by Dave
    I have a search enabled map view. When user hits search, my custom annotations are added to the map view. The search returns 20 results with a 'load more' link. When I hit load more, more annotations should be added to map view. The problem is - annotations gets added to the map view but is not displayed on the map. If I zoom in or zoom out to change the map region, the pins are shown. I find that viewForAnnotations: is not getting called when i hit 'load more'. I am not sure how to trigger this. any one?

  • JAXB XmlID and XmlIDREF annotations (Schema to Java)

    - by kipz
    I am exposing a web service using CXF. I am using the @XmlID and @XmlIDREF JAXB annotations to maintain referential integrity of my object graph during marshalling/unmarshalling. The WSDL rightly contains elements with the xs:id and xs:idref attributes to represent this. On the server side, everything works really nicely. Instances of Types annotated with @XmlIDREF are the same instances (as in ==) to those annotated with the @XmlID annotation. However, when I generate a client with WSDLToJava, the references (those annotated with @XmlIDREF) are of type java.lang.Object. Is there any way that I can customise the JAXB bindings such that the types of references are either java.lang.String (to match the ID of the referenced type) or the same as the referenced type itself?

  • Best practice to display POI in iPhone's MapKit?

    - by iamj4de
    Assuming I have a database of POI with their respective coordinates (longitude & latitude). What would be the "standard" way to display the POI as annotations around the user's current location? To elaborate: Given a zoom level, I guess I have to search through the database for all POI whose distance to the current location < a certain threshold, then create annotations for them. Or is there any smarter way? If the user zooms in/out, moves the map... I will need to redo the whole thing again? It seems that MapKit has a mechanism to cache/reuse annotations. Should I create a lot of them right away and let MapKit decides what to render when the visible region changes? I guess this would make the transition smoother, but also consumes more memory. What is your experience with this? Thanks.

  • inject a mockups to a bean that has @autowired annotations

    - by santiagozky
    I have a bean that has a couple of beans injected with the autowire annotation (no qualifier). Now, for testing reasons I want to inject some mocks to the bean instead of the ones being autowired (some DAOs). Is there any way I can change which bean is being injected without modifying my bean? I don't like the idea of adding annotations my code just to test it and then remove then for production. I am using spring 2.5. The bean look like this: @Transactional @Service("validaBusinesService") public class ValidaBusinesServiceImpl implements ValidaBusinesService { @Autowired OperationDAO operationDAO; @Autowired BinDAO binDAO; @Autowired CardDAO cardDAO; @Autowired UserDAO userDAO; ... ... }

  • Validating only selected fields using ASP.NET MVC 2 and Data Annotations

    - by thinknow
    I'm using Data Annotations with ASP.NET MVC 2 as demonstrated in this post: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2010/01/15/asp-net-mvc-2-model-validation.aspx Everything works fine when creating / updating an entity where all required property values are specified in the form and valid. However, what if I only want to update some of the fields? For example, let's say I have an Account entity with 20 fields, but I only want to update Username and Password? ModelState.IsValid validates against all the properties, regardless of whether they are referenced in the submitted form. How can I get it to validate only the fields that are referenced in the form?

  • How to validate Data Annotations with a MetaData class

    I'm trying to validate a class using Data Annotations but with a metadata class. If I ditch the metadata class and just decorated the property on the actual class it works fine. WTH am I doing wrong? This is putting me on the verge of insanity. Please help.

  • Mixing JPA annotations and XML configuration

    - by HDave
    I have a fairly large (new) project in which we have annotated many domain classes with JPA mappings. Now it is time to implement many named queries -- some entities may have as many as 15-20 named queries. I am thinking that writing these named queries in annotations will clutter the source files and therefore am considering putting these in XML mapping files. Is this possible? Mort importantly, is this reasonable? Are there better approaches? How is this done?

  • How to set up default schema name in JPA configuration?

    - by Roman
    I found that in hibernate config file we could set up parameter hibernate.default_schema: <hibernate-configuration> <session-factory> ... <property name="hibernate.default_schema">myschema</property> ... </session-factory> </hibernate-configuration> Now I'm using JPA and I want to do the same. Otherwise I have to add parameter schema to each @Table annotation like: @Entity @Table (name = "projectcategory", schema = "SCHEMANAME") public class Category implements Serializable { ... } As I understand this parameter should be somewhere in this part of configuration: <bean id="domainEntityManagerFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean"> <property name="persistenceUnitName" value="JiraManager"/> <property name="dataSource" ref="domainDataSource"/> <property name="jpaVendorAdapter"> <bean class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.vendor.HibernateJpaVendorAdapter"> <property name="generateDdl" value="false"/> <property name="showSql" value="false"/> <property name="databasePlatform" value="${hibernate.dialect}"/> </bean> </property> </bean> <bean id="domainDataSource" class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <property name="driverClass" value="${db.driver}" /> <property name="jdbcUrl" value="${datasource.url}" /> <property name="user" value="${datasource.username}" /> <property name="password" value="${datasource.password}" /> <property name="initialPoolSize" value="5"/> <property name="minPoolSize" value="5"/> <property name="maxPoolSize" value="15"/> <property name="checkoutTimeout" value="10000"/> <property name="maxStatements" value="150"/> <property name="testConnectionOnCheckin" value="true"/> <property name="idleConnectionTestPeriod" value="50"/> </bean> ... but I can't find its name in google. I use this code to access an object by id … protected Object find(Class clazz, Serializable id) { Object obj = null; try { startOperation(); obj = session.load(clazz, id); tx.commit(); } catch (HibernateException e) { handleException(e); } finally { session.close(); } return obj; } but if I have that object without an active session, like with this code … final Organization foundOrg = orgDao.findById(org.getOrganizationId()); System.out.println(foundOrg.getName()); I get this error on the "System.out" line … org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: could not initialize proxy - no Session at org.hibernate.proxy.AbstractLazyInitializer.initialize(AbstractLazyInitializer.java:149) at org.hibernate.proxy.AbstractLazyInitializer.getImplementation(AbstractLazyInitializer.java:195) at org.hibernate.proxy.pojo.javassist.JavassistLazyInitializer.invoke(JavassistLazyInitializer.java:185) at org.myco.myproject.orgsclient.model.Organization_$$_javassist_0.getName(Organization_$$_javassist_0.java) at org.myco.myproject.orgsclient.dao.OrganizationDAOTest.testInsertSchool(OrganizationDAOTest.java:43) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.junit.runners.model.FrameworkMethod$1.runReflectiveCall(FrameworkMethod.java:44) at org.junit.internal.runners.model.ReflectiveCallable.run(ReflectiveCallable.java:15) at org.junit.runners.model.FrameworkMethod.invokeExplosively(FrameworkMethod.java:41) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.InvokeMethod.evaluate(InvokeMethod.java:20) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunBefores.evaluate(RunBefores.java:28) at org.junit.runners.BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.runChild(BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.java:76) at org.junit.runners.BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.runChild(BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.java:50) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner$3.run(ParentRunner.java:193) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner$1.schedule(ParentRunner.java:52) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.runChildren(ParentRunner.java:191) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.access$000(ParentRunner.java:42) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner$2.evaluate(ParentRunner.java:184) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.run(ParentRunner.java:236) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit4.runner.JUnit4TestReference.run(JUnit4TestReference.java:50) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.TestExecution.run(TestExecution.java:38) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:467) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:683) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.run(RemoteTestRunner.java:390) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.main(RemoteTestRunner.java:197)

  • How to register a custom type in Hibernate using org.springframework.orm.hibernate4.LocalSessionFactoryBean

    - by Luis
    I'm migrating from hibernate 3 to hibernate 4, In hibernate 3 the way I was registering a custom type was: public class AnnotationSessionFactoryBean extends org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean { private Collection<? extends BasicType> customTypes; public Collection<? extends BasicType> getCustomTypes() { return customTypes; } public void setCustomTypes(Collection<? extends BasicType> customTypes) { this.customTypes = customTypes; } @Override protected Configuration newConfiguration() throws HibernateException { Configuration configuration = super.newConfiguration(); if (CollectionUtils.hasEntries(customTypes)) { for (BasicType customType:customTypes) { configuration.registerTypeOverride(customType); } } return configuration; }} I'm now trying to do the same operation but using hibernate 4, my question is how is the best way to do this? since I dont have access do change configuration when using "org.springframework.orm.hibernate4.LocalSessionFactoryBean" instead of "org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean". Thanks

  • What to pass to UserType, BlobType.setPreparedStatement session parameter

    - by dlots
    http://blog.xebia.com/2009/11/09/understanding-and-writing-hibernate-user-types/ I am attempting to defined a customer serialization UserType that mimics, the XStreamUserType referenced and provided here: http://code.google.com/p/aphillips/source/browse/commons-hibernate-usertype/trunk/src/main/java/com/qrmedia/commons/persistence/hibernate/usertype/XStreamableUserType.java My serializer outputs a bytearray that should presumably written to a Blob. I was going to do: public class CustomSerUserType extends DirtyCheckableUserType { protected SerA ser=F.g(SerA.class); public Class<Object> returnedClass() { return Object.class; } public int[] sqlTypes() { return new int[] {Types.BLOB}; } public Object nullSafeGet(ResultSet resultSet,String[] names,Object owner) throws HibernateException,SQLException { if() } public void nullSafeSet(PreparedStatement preparedStatement,Object value,int index) throws HibernateException,SQLException { BlobType.nullSafeSet(preparedStatement,ser.ser(value),index); } } Unfortunetly, the BlobType.nullSafeSet method requires the session. So how does one define a UserType that gets access to a servlet requests session? EDIT: There is a discussion of the issue here and it doesn't appear there is a solution: Best way to implement a Hibernate UserType after deprecations?

  • Does Hibernate create tables in the database automatically.

    - by theJava
    http://www.vaannila.com/spring/spring-hibernate-integration-1.html Upon reading this tutorial, they have not mentioned anything over creating tables in the DB. Does the Hibernate handle it automatically by creating tables and fields once i specify them.
