  • Programming Java 7 in Eclipse

    - by reprogrammer
    I installed JDK 7 and Eclipse 3.6M6. Then, I added JRE 7 as a new JRE execution environment in Eclipse, and set the compiler compliance level to Java 7. I can compile the following piece of code through command line using the javac that comes with JDK 7. import java.util.HashMap; import java.util.Map; public class Try { public static void main(String[] args) { Map<Integer, String> map = new HashMap<>(); } } But, Eclipse gives the following error messages. Incorrect number of arguments for type HashMap; it cannot be parameterized with arguments Try.java /TryJava7/src line 7 Java Problem Syntax error on token "<", ? expected after this token Try.java /TryJava7/src line 7 Java Problem Even though I've set the compliance level of the compiler to Java 7, it looks like Eclipse doesn't understand Java7 syntax yet. Is it possible to play with Java 7 in Eclipse? The following is the content of .classpath. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <classpath> <classpathentry kind="src" path="src"/> <classpathentry kind="con" path="org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER/org.eclipse.jdt.internal.debug.ui.launcher.StandardVMType/JavaSE-1.7"/> <classpathentry kind="output" path="bin"/> </classpath> And, the following is the content of .settings/org.eclipse.jdt.core.prefs. eclipse.preferences.version=1 org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.codegen.inlineJsrBytecode=enabled org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.codegen.targetPlatform=1.7 org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.codegen.unusedLocal=preserve org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.compliance=1.7 org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.debug.lineNumber=generate org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.debug.localVariable=generate org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.debug.sourceFile=generate org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.problem.assertIdentifier=error org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.problem.enumIdentifier=error org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler.source=1.7

  • Python Tkinter Tix: How to use ScrolledWindow with grid in Tix NoteBook

    - by Sano98
    Hi guys, I'm adding several widgets to a Frame which is located in a tix.NoteBook. When there are too much widgets to fit in the window, I want to use a scrollbar, so I put tix.ScrolledWindow inside that Frame and add my widgets to this ScrolledWindow instead. The problem is that when using the grid() geometry manager, the scrollbar appears, but it is not working (The drag bar occupies the whole scroll bar). from Tkinter import * import Tix class Window: def __init__(self, root): self.labelList = [] self.notebook = Tix.NoteBook(root, ipadx=3, ipady=3) self.notebook.add('sheet_1', label="Sheet 1", underline=0) self.notebook.add('sheet_2', label="Sheet 2", underline=0) self.notebook.add('sheet_3', label="Sheet 3", underline=0) self.notebook.pack() #self.notebook.grid(row=0, column=0) tab1=self.notebook.sheet_1 tab2=self.notebook.sheet_2 tab3=self.notebook.sheet_3 self.myMainContainer = Frame(tab1) self.myMainContainer.pack() #self.myMainContainer.grid(row=0, column=0) scrwin = Tix.ScrolledWindow(self.myMainContainer, scrollbar='y') scrwin.pack() #scrwin.grid(row=0, column=0) self.win = scrwin.window for i in range (100): self.labelList.append((Label(self.win))) self.labelList[-1].config(text= "Bla", relief = SUNKEN) self.labelList[-1].grid(row=i, column=0, sticky=W+E) root = Tix.Tk() myWindow = Window(root) root.mainloop() Whenever I change at least one of the geometry managers from pack() to grid(), the problem occurs. (Actually, I'd prefer using grid() for all containers.) When I don't use the NoteBook widget, the problem does not occur either. The other examples here all seem to rely on pack(). Any ideas? Many thanks, Sano

  • uploadify scriptData problem

    - by elpaso66
    Hi, I'm having problems with scriptData on uploadify, I'm pretty sure the config syntax is fine but whatever I do, scriptData is not passed to the upload script. I tested in both FF and Chrome with flash v. Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31 This is the config: $(document).ready(function() { $('#id_file').uploadify({ 'uploader' : '/media/filebrowser/uploadify/uploadify.swf', 'script' : '/admin/filebrowser/upload_file/', 'scriptData' : {'session_key': 'e1b552afde044bdd188ad51af40cfa8e'}, 'checkScript' : '/admin/filebrowser/check_file/', 'cancelImg' : '/media/filebrowser/uploadify/cancel.png', 'auto' : false, 'folder' : '', 'multi' : true, 'fileDesc' : '*.html;*.py;*.js;*.css;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.gif;*.png;*.tif;*.tiff;*.mp3;*.mp4;*.wav;*.aiff;*.midi;*.m4p;*.mov;*.wmv;*.mpeg;*.mpg;*.avi;*.rm;*.pdf;*.doc;*.rtf;*.txt;*.xls;*.csv;', 'fileExt' : '*.html;*.py;*.js;*.css;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.gif;*.png;*.tif;*.tiff;*.mp3;*.mp4;*.wav;*.aiff;*.midi;*.m4p;*.mov;*.wmv;*.mpeg;*.mpg;*.avi;*.rm;*.pdf;*.doc;*.rtf;*.txt;*.xls;*.csv;', 'sizeLimit' : 10485760, 'scriptAccess' : 'sameDomain', 'queueSizeLimit' : 50, 'simUploadLimit' : 1, 'width' : 300, 'height' : 30, 'hideButton' : false, 'wmode' : 'transparent', translations : { browseButton: 'BROWSE', error: 'An Error occured', completed: 'Completed', replaceFile: 'Do you want to replace the file', unitKb: 'KB', unitMb: 'MB' } }); $('input:submit').click(function(){ $('#id_file').uploadifyUpload(); return false; }); }); I checked that other values (file name) are passed correctly but session_key is not. This is the decorator code from django-filebrowser, you can see it checks for request.POST.get('session_key'), the problem is that request.POST is empty. def flash_login_required(function): """ Decorator to recognize a user by its session. Used for Flash-Uploading. """ def decorator(request, *args, **kwargs): try: engine = __import__(settings.SESSION_ENGINE, {}, {}, ['']) except: import django.contrib.sessions.backends.db engine = django.contrib.sessions.backends.db print request.POST session_data = engine.SessionStore(request.POST.get('session_key')) user_id = session_data['_auth_user_id'] # will return 404 if the session ID does not resolve to a valid user request.user = get_object_or_404(User, pk=user_id) return function(request, *args, **kwargs) return decorator

  • Java: immutable Stack?

    - by HH
    I chose to use Stacks and Tables before knowing Collections has immutable empty things only for Set, Map and List. Because the size of table does not change after its init: Integer[] table = new Intger[0] I can use the zero-witdh table as an empty table. But I cannot use final or empty Stack to get immutable Stack: No immutability to Stack with Final import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class TestStack{ public static void main(String[] args) { final Stack<Integer> test = new Stack<Integer>(); Stack<Integer> test2 = new Stack<Integer>(); test.push(37707); test2.push(80437707); //WHY is there not an error to remove an elment // from FINAL stack? System.out.println(test.pop()); System.out.println(test2.pop()); } } Java Api 5 for list interface shows that Stack is an implementing class for list and arraylist, here. The java.coccurrent pkg does not have any immutable Stack data structure. From Stack to some immutable data structure How to get immutable Stack data structure? Can I box it with list? Should I switch my current implementatios from stacks to Lists to get immutable? Which immutable data structure is Very fast with about similar exec time as Stack?

  • Customizing Django form widgets? - Django

    - by RadiantHex
    Hi folks, I'm having a little problem here! I have discovered the following as being the globally accepted method for customizing Django admin field. from django import forms from django.utils.safestring import mark_safe class AdminImageWidget(forms.FileInput): """ A ImageField Widget for admin that shows a thumbnail. """ def __init__(self, attrs={}): super(AdminImageWidget, self).__init__(attrs) def render(self, name, value, attrs=None): output = [] if value and hasattr(value, "url"): output.append(('<a target="_blank" href="%s">' '<img src="%s" style="height: 28px;" /></a> ' % (value.url, value.url))) output.append(super(AdminImageWidget, self).render(name, value, attrs)) return mark_safe(u''.join(output)) I need to have access to other field of the model in order to decide how to display the field! For example: If I am keeping track of a value, let us call it "sales". If I wish to customize how sales is displayed depending on another field, let us call it "conversion rate". I have no obvious way of accessing the conversion rate field when overriding the sales widget! Any ideas to work around this would be highly appreciated! Thanks :)

  • Subclassing UINavigationBar ... how do I use it in UINavigationController?

    - by funkadelic
    Hi, I wanted to subclass UINavigationBar (to set a custom background image & text color) and use that for all the navigation bars in my app. Looking at the API docs for UINavigationController, it looks like navigationBar is read-only: @property(nonatomic, readonly) UINavigationBar *navigationBar Is there a way to actually use a custom UINavigationBar in my UIViewControllers? I know that other apps have done custom navigation bars, like flickr: Here is my UINavigationBar subclass: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface MyNavigationBar : UINavigationBar <UINavigationBarDelegate> { } @end the implementation #import "MyNavigationBar.h" @implementation MyNavigationBar - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { // Initialization code } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { // override the standard background with our own custom one UIImage *image = [[UIImage imageNamed:@"navigation_bar_bgd.png"] retain]; [image drawInRect:rect]; [image release]; } #pragma mark - #pragma mark UINavigationDelegate Methods - (void)navigationController:(UINavigationController *)navigationController willShowViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController animated:(BOOL)animated{ // use the title of the passed in view controller NSString *title = [viewController title]; // create our own UILabel with custom color, text, etc UILabel *titleView = [[UILabel alloc] init]; [titleView setFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:18]]; [titleView setTextColor:[UIColor blackColor]]; titleView.text = title; titleView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; [titleView sizeToFit]; viewController.navigationItem.titleView = titleView; [titleView release]; viewController.navigationController.navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.1 green:0.2 blue:0.3 alpha:0.8]; } - (void)navigationController:(UINavigationController *)navigationController didShowViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController animated:(BOOL)animated{ } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end I know that I can use a category to change the background image, but i still want to be able to set the text color of the navigation bar title @implementation UINavigationBar (CustomImage) - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed: @"navigation_bar_bgd.png"]; [image drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, self.frame.size.width, self.frame.size.height)]; } @end any suggestions or other solutions? I basically want to create a light background and dark text like Flickr's app navigation bars

  • Using M2Crypto to save and load X509 certs in pem files

    - by Brock Pytlik
    I would expect that if I have a X509 cert as an object in memory, saved it as a pem file, then loaded it back in, I would end up with the same cert I started with. This seems not to be the case however. Let's call the original cert A, and the cert loaded from the pem file B. A.as_text() is identical to B.as_text(), but A.as_pem() differs from B.as_pem(). To say the least, I'm confused by this. As a side note, if A has been signed by another entity C, then A will verify against C's cert, but B will not. I've put together a tiny sample program to demonstrate what I'm seeing. When I run this, the second RuntimeError is raised. Thanks, Brock #!/usr/bin/python2.6 import M2Crypto as m2 import time cur_time = m2.ASN1.ASN1_UTCTIME() cur_time.set_time(int(time.time()) - 60*60*24) expire_time = m2.ASN1.ASN1_UTCTIME() # Expire certs in 1 hour. expire_time.set_time(int(time.time()) + 60 * 60 * 24) cs_rsa = m2.RSA.gen_key(1024, 65537, lambda: None) cs_pk = m2.EVP.PKey() cs_pk.assign_rsa(cs_rsa) cs_cert = m2.X509.X509() # These two seem the minimum necessary to make the as_text function call work # at all cs_cert.set_not_before(cur_time) cs_cert.set_not_after(expire_time) # This seems necessary to fill out the complete cert without errors. cs_cert.set_pubkey(cs_pk) # I've tried with the following set lines commented out and not commented. cs_name = m2.X509.X509_Name() cs_name.C = "US" cs_name.ST = "CA" cs_name.OU = "Fake Org CA 1" cs_name.CN = "www.fakeorg.dex" cs_name.Email = "[email protected]" cs_cert.set_subject(cs_name) cs_cert.set_issuer_name(cs_name) cs_cert.sign(cs_pk, md="sha256") orig_text = cs_cert.as_text() orig_pem = cs_cert.as_pem() print "orig_text:\n%s" % orig_text cs_cert.save_pem("/tmp/foo") tcs = m2.X509.load_cert("/tmp/foo") tcs_text = tcs.as_text() tcs_pem = tcs.as_pem() if orig_text != tcs_text: raise RuntimeError( "Texts were different.\nOrig:\n%s\nAfter load:\n%s" % (orig_text, tcs_text)) if orig_pem != tcs_pem: raise RuntimeError( "Pems were different.\nOrig:\n%s\nAfter load:\n%s" % (orig_pem, tcs_pem))

  • Mixing Objective-C and C++

    - by helixed
    Hello, I'm trying to mix together some Objective-C code with C++. I've always heard it was possible, but I've never actually tried it before. When I try to compile the code, I get a bunch of errors. Here's a simple example I've created which illustrates my problems: AView.h #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> #include "B.h" @interface AView : NSView { B *b; } -(void) setB: (B *) theB; @end AView.m #import "AView.h" @implementation AView - (id)initWithFrame:(NSRect)frame { self = [super initWithFrame:frame]; if (self) { // Initialization code here. } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)dirtyRect { // Drawing code here. } -(void) setB: (B *) theB { b = theB; } @end B.h #include <iostream> class B { B() { std::cout << "Hello from C++"; } }; Here's the list of errors I get when I try to compile this: /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:1:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:1:20: error: iostream: No such file or directory /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:3:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/B.h:3: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:5:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:5: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:8:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.h:8: error: expected ')' before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:26:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:26: error: expected ')' before 'B' /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:27:0 /Users/helixed/Desktop/Example/AView.m:27: error: 'b' undeclared (first use in this function) All I'm doing to compile this right now is using the default compiler built into Xcode. I didn't edit the Cocoa Application template in any way other than adding the two files I created and chaing the NSView to AView in the xib file. Could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, helixed

  • Optimizing transition/movement smoothness for a 2D flash game.

    - by Tom
    Update 6: Fenomenas suggested me to re-create everything as simple as possible. I had my doubts that this would make any difference as the algorithm remains the same, and performance did not seem to be the issue. Anyway, it was the only suggestion I got so here it is: 30 FPS: http://www.feedpostal.com/test/simple/30/SimpleMovement.html 40 FPS: http://www.feedpostal.com/test/simple/40/SimpleMovement.html 60 FPS: http://www.feedpostal.com/test/simple/60/SimpleMovement.html 100 FPS: http://www.feedpostal.com/test/simple/100/SimpleMovement.html The code: package { import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.events.Event; import flash.events.KeyboardEvent; import flash.utils.getTimer; [SWF(width="800", height="600", frameRate="40", backgroundColor="#000000")] public class SimpleMovement extends Sprite { private static const TURNING_SPEED:uint = 180; private static const MOVEMENT_SPEED:uint = 400; private static const RADIAN_DIVIDE:Number = Math.PI/180; private var playerObject:Sprite; private var shipContainer:Sprite; private var moving:Boolean = false; private var turningMode:uint = 0; private var movementTimestamp:Number = getTimer(); private var turningTimestamp:Number = movementTimestamp; public function SimpleMovement() { //step 1: create player object playerObject = new Sprite(); playerObject.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0x000000); playerObject.graphics.beginFill(0x6D7B8D); playerObject.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 25, 50); //make it rotate around the center playerObject.x = 0 - playerObject.width / 2; playerObject.y = 0 - playerObject.height / 2; shipContainer = new Sprite(); shipContainer.addChild(playerObject); shipContainer.x = 100; shipContainer.y = 100; shipContainer.rotation = 180; addChild(shipContainer); //step 2: install keyboard hook when stage is ready addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, stageReady, false, 0, true); //step 3: install rendering update poll addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, updatePoller, false, 0, true); } private function updatePoller(event:Event):void { var newTime:Number = getTimer(); //turning if (turningMode != 0) { var turningDeltaTime:Number = newTime - turningTimestamp; turningTimestamp = newTime; var rotation:Number = TURNING_SPEED * turningDeltaTime / 1000; if (turningMode == 1) shipContainer.rotation -= rotation; else shipContainer.rotation += rotation; } //movement if (moving) { var movementDeltaTime:Number = newTime - movementTimestamp; movementTimestamp = newTime; var distance:Number = MOVEMENT_SPEED * movementDeltaTime / 1000; var rAngle:Number = shipContainer.rotation * RADIAN_DIVIDE; //convert degrees to radian shipContainer.x += distance * Math.sin(rAngle); shipContainer.y -= distance * Math.cos(rAngle); } } private function stageReady(event:Event):void { //install keyboard hook stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, keyDown, false, 0, true); stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP, keyUp, false, 0, true); } private final function keyDown(event:KeyboardEvent):void { if ((event.keyCode == 87) && (!moving)) //87 = W { movementTimestamp = getTimer(); moving = true; } if ((event.keyCode == 65) && (turningMode != 1)) //65 = A { turningTimestamp = getTimer(); turningMode = 1; } else if ((event.keyCode == 68) && (turningMode != 2)) //68 = D { turningTimestamp = getTimer(); turningMode = 2; } } private final function keyUp(event:KeyboardEvent):void { if ((event.keyCode == 87) && (moving)) moving = false; //87 = W if (((event.keyCode == 65) || (event.keyCode == 68)) && (turningMode != 0)) turningMode = 0; //65 = A, 68 = D } } } The results were as I expected. Absolutely no improvement. I really hope that someone has another suggestion as this thing needs fixing. Also, I doubt it's my system as I have a pretty good one (8GB RAM, Q9550 QuadCore intel, ATI Radeon 4870 512MB). Also, everyone else I asked so far had the same issue with my client. This is however not the biggest problme, the biggest problem are the continuous small warps during normal movement. Does this give anyone a clue? Update 3: After testing, I know that the following factors are not causing my problem: Bitmap's quality - changed with photoshop to an uglier 8 colours optimized graphic, no improvement at all. Constant rotation of image while turning - disabled it, no improvement at all Browser rendering - tried to use the flash player standalone, no improvement at all I am 100% convinced that the problem lies in either my code or in my algorithm. Please, help me out. It has been almost two weeks (1 week that I asked this question on SO) now and I still have to get my golden answer. Update 1: see bottom for full flex project source and a live demo demonstrating my problem. I'm working on a 2d flash game. Player ships are created as an object: ships[id] = new GameShip(); When movement and rotation information is available, this is being directed to the corresponding ship: ships[id].setMovementMode(1); //move forward Now, within this GameShip object movement works using the "Event.ENTER_FRAME" event: addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, movementHandler); The following function is then being run: private final function movementHandler(event:Event):void { var newTimeStamp:uint = UtilLib.getTimeStamp(); //set current timeStamp var distance:Number = (newTimeStamp - movementTimeStamp) / 1000 * movementSpeed; //speed = x pixels forward every 1 second movementTimeStamp = newTimeStamp; //update old timeStamp var diagonalChange:Array = getDiagonalChange(movementAngle, distance); //the diagonal position update based on angle and distance charX += diagonalChange[0]; charY += diagonalChange[1]; if (shipContainer) { //when the container is ready to be worked with shipContainer.x = charX; shipContainer.y = charY; } } private final function getDiagonalChange(angle:Number, distance:Number):Array { var rAngle:Number = angle * Math.PI/180; //convert degrees to radian return [Math.sin(rAngle) * distance, (Math.cos(rAngle) * distance) * -1]; } When the object is no longer moving, the event listener will be removed. The same method is being used for rotation. Everything works almost perfect. I've set the project's target FPS to 100 and created a FPS counter. According to the FPS counter, the average FPS in firefox is around 100, while the top is 1000 and the bottom is 22. I think that the bottom and top FPSs are only happening during the initialization of the client (startup). The problem is that the ship appears to be almost perfectly smooth, while it should be just that without the "almost" part. It's almost as if the ship is "flickering" very very fast, you can't actually see it but it's hard to focus on the object while it's moving with your eyes. Also, every now and then, there seems to be a bit of a framerate spike, as if the client is skipping a couple of frames, you then see it quickly warp. It is very difficult to explain what the real problem is, but in general it's that the movement is not perfectly smooth. So, do you have any suggestions on how to make the movement or transition of objects perfectly smooth? Update 1: I re-created the client to demonstrate my problem. Please check it out. The client: http://feedpostal.com/test/MovementTest.html The Actionscript Project (full source): http://feedpostal.com/test/MovementTest.rar An example of a smooth flash game (not created by me): http://www.gamesforwork.com/games/swf/Mission%20Racing_august_10th_2009.swf It took me a pretty long time to recreate this client side version, I hope this will help with solving the problem. Please note: yes, it is actually pretty smooth. But it is definitely not smooth enough.

  • How to declare dependent style names with UiBinder

    - by Eduard Wirch
    I have a simple UiBinder widget containing a TextArea: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <g:TextArea visibleLines="3" /> </ui:UiBinder> I want to control the background color of this textarea for writeable and read only states. GWT uses the "-readonly" style name decorator to achieve this. So I try this: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <ui:style> .textBoxStyle { background-color:yellow; } .textBoxStyle-readonly { background-color:lightgray; } </ui:style> <g:TextArea styleName="{style.textBoxStyle}" visibleLines="3" /> </ui:UiBinder> Obviously this won't work because style names are obfuscated for CssResources resulting in something like this: .G1x26wpeN { background-color:yellow } .G1x26wpeO { background-color: lightgray; } The result HTML for writeable textarea looks like this: <textarea tabindex="0" class="G1x26wpeN" rows="3"/> The read only textarea looks like this: <textarea tabindex="0" class="G1x26wpeN G1x26wpeN-readonly" readonly="" rows="3"/> How do I declare the style so GWT will obfuscate the primary part but not the "-readonly" decdorator? I know that I can disable the obfuscation for the entire style name. But I'd like to keep the obfuscation while making use of the decorators.

  • Mixing Objective-C and C++

    - by helixed
    I'm trying to mix together some Objective-C code with C++.

  • Ivar definitions show 'long' type encoding as 'long long' type encoding

    - by Frank C.
    I've found what I think may be a bug with Ivar and Objective-C runtime. I'm using XCode 3.2.1 and associated libraries, developing a 64 bit app on X86_64 (MacBook Pro). Where I would expect the type encoding for the following "longVal" to be 'l', the Ivar encoding is showing a 'q' (which is a 'long long'). Anyone else seeing this? Simplified code and output follows: Code: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import <objc/runtime.h> @interface Bug : NSObject { long longVal; long long longerVal; } @property (nonatomic,assign) long longVal; @property (nonatomic,assign) long long longerVal; @end @implementation Bug @synthesize longVal,longerVal; @end int main (int argc, const char * argv[]) { NSAutoreleasePool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; unsigned int ivarCount=0; Ivar *ivars= class_copyIvarList([Bug class], &ivarCount); for(unsigned int x=0;x<ivarCount;x++) { NSLog(@"Name [%@] encoding [%@]", [NSString stringWithCString:ivar_getName(ivars[x]) encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding], [NSString stringWithCString:ivar_getTypeEncoding(ivars[x]) encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]); } [pool drain]; return 0; } And here is output from debug console: This GDB was configured as "x86_64-apple-darwin".tty /dev/ttys000 Loading program into debugger… sharedlibrary apply-load-rules all Program loaded. run [Switching to process 6048] Running… 2010-03-17 22:16:29.138 ivarbug[6048:a0f] Name [longVal] encoding [q] 2010-03-17 22:16:29.146 ivarbug[6048:a0f] Name [longerVal] encoding [q] (gdb) continue Not a pretty picture! -- Frank

  • Django - The included urlconf doesn't have any patterns in it

    - by unsorted
    My website, which was working before, suddenly started breaking with the error "ImproperlyConfigured at / The included urlconf resume.urls doesn't have any patterns in it" The project base is called resume. In settings.py I have set ROOT_URLCONF = 'resume.urls' Here's my resume.urls, which sits in the project root directory. from django.conf.urls.defaults import * # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Example: # (r'^resume/', include('resume.foo.urls')), # Uncomment the admin/doc line below and add 'django.contrib.admindocs' # to INSTALLED_APPS to enable admin documentation: (r'^admin/doc/', include('django.contrib.admindocs.urls')), # Uncomment the next line to enable the admin: (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), (r'^accounts/login/$', 'django.contrib.auth.views.login'), #(r'^employer/', include(students.urls)), (r'^ajax/', include('urls.ajax')), (r'^student/', include('students.urls')), (r'^club/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.club_detail'), (r'^company/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.company_detail'), (r'^program/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.program_detail'), (r'^course/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.course_detail'), (r'^career/(?P<object_id>\d+)/$', 'resume.students.views.career_detail'), (r'^site_media/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': 'C:/code/django/resume/media'}), ) Anyone know what's wrong? • Call functions in AutoIt DLL using Python ctypes

    - by Josh
    I want to call functions from an AutoIt dll, that I found at C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\AutoItX\AutoItX3.dll using Python. I know I could use win32com.client.Dispatch("AutoItX3.Control") but I can't install the application or register anything in the system. So far, this is where I am: from ctypes import * path = r"C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\AutoItX\AutoItX3.dll" autoit = windll.LoadLibrary(path) Here are the methods that works: autoit.AU3_WinMinimizeAll() # windows were successfully minimized. autoit.AU3_Sleep(1000) # sleeps 1 sec. Here is my problem, python is crashing when I call other methods like this one. I get python.exe has stopped working from windows... autoit.AU3_WinGetHandle('Untitled - Notepad', '') And some other methods are not crashing python but are just not working. This one doesn't close the window and return 0: autoit.AU3_WinClose('Untitled - Notepad', '') And this other one return 1 but the window is still minimized: autoit.AU3_WinActivate('Untitled - Notepad', '') I've tested the examples with with Dispatch("AutoItX3.Control") and everything is working like expected. It seems like methods that should return something other than a string are crashing python. But still, others like WinClose are not even working... Thank you in advance for your help! EDIT: These methods are now working when using unicode strings: autoit.AU3_WinClose(u'Untitled - Notepad', u'') autoit.AU3_WinActivate(u'Untitled - Notepad', u'') And I found the prototype for AU3_WinGetHandle: AU3_API void WINAPI AU3_WinGetHandle(const char szTitle, /[in,defaultvalue("")]*/const char *szText, char *szRetText, int nBufSize); Now I see that I should get the handle from szRetText but I am not sure how... I tried the following without success: from ctypes.wintypes import LPCWSTR, INT, POINTER AU3_WinGetHandle.argtypes = (LPCWSTR, LPCWSTR, POINTER(LPCWSTR), INT) s = c_wchar_p() print AU3_WinGetHandle(u'Untitled - Notepad', u'', byref(s), 100) # prints 1 print s # prints c_wchar_p(u'') Any idea how to retrive the handle from szRetText?

  • Failed sending bytes array to JAX-WS web service on Axis

    - by user304309
    Hi I have made a small example to show my problem. Here is my web-service: package service; import javax.jws.WebMethod; import javax.jws.WebService; @WebService public class BytesService { @WebMethod public String redirectString(String string){ return string+" - is what you sended"; } @WebMethod public byte[] redirectBytes(byte[] bytes) { System.out.println("### redirectBytes"); System.out.println("### bytes lenght:" + bytes.length); System.out.println("### message" + new String(bytes)); return bytes; } @WebMethod public byte[] genBytes() { byte[] bytes = "Hello".getBytes(); return bytes; } } I pack it in jar file and store in "axis2-1.5.1/repository/servicejars" folder. Then I generate client Proxy using Eclipse for EE default utils. And use it in my code in the following way: BytesService service = new BytesServiceProxy(); System.out.println("Redirect string"); System.out.println(service.redirectString("Hello")); System.out.println("Redirect bytes"); byte[] param = { (byte)21, (byte)22, (byte)23 }; System.out.println(param.length); param = service.redirectBytes(param); System.out.println(param.length); System.out.println("Gen bytes"); param = service.genBytes(); System.out.println(param.length); And here is what my client prints: Redirect string Hello - is what you sended Redirect bytes 3 0 Gen bytes 5 And on server I have: ### redirectBytes ### bytes lenght:0 ### message So byte array can normally be transfered from service, but is not accepted from the client. And it works fine with strings. Now I use Base64Encoder, but I dislike this solution.

  • Label in PyQt4 GUI not updating with every loop of FOR loop

    - by user297920
    I'm having a problem, where I wish to run several command line functions from a python program using a GUI. I don't know if my problem is specific to PyQt4 or if it has to do with my bad use of python code. What I wish to do is have a label on my GUI change its text value to inform the user which command is being executed. My problem however, arises when I run several commands using a for loop. I would like the label to update itself with every loop, however, the program is not updating the GUI label with every loop, instead, it only updates itself once the entire loop is completed, and displays only the last command that was executed. I am using PyQt4 for my GUI environment. And I have established that the text variable for the label is indeed being updated with every loop, but, it is not actually showing up visually in the GUI. Is there a way for me to force the label to update itself? I have tried the update() and repaint() methods within the loop, but they don't make any difference. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you. Ronny. Here is the code I am using: # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- import sys, os from PyQt4 import QtGui, QtCore Gui = QtGui Core = QtCore # ================================================== CREATE WINDOW OBJECT CLASS class Win(Gui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent = None): Gui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) # --------------------------------------------------- SETUP PLAY BUTTON self.but1 = Gui.QPushButton("Run Commands",self) self.but1.setGeometry(10,10, 200, 100) # -------------------------------------------------------- SETUP LABELS self.label1 = Gui.QLabel("No Commands running", self) self.label1.move(10, 120) # ------------------------------------------------------- SETUP ACTIONS self.connect(self.but1, Core.SIGNAL("clicked()"), runCommands) # ======================================================= RUN COMMAND FUNCTION def runCommands(): for i in commands: win.label1.setText(i) # Make label display the command being run print win.label1.text() # This shows that the value is actually # changing with every loop, but its just not # being reflected in the GUI label os.system(i) # ======================================================================== MAIN # ------------------------------------------------------ THE TERMINAL COMMANDS com1 = "espeak 'senntence 1'" com2 = "espeak 'senntence 2'" com3 = "espeak 'senntence 3'" com4 = "espeak 'senntence 4'" com5 = "espeak 'senntence 5'" commands = (com1, com2, com3, com4, com5) # --------------------------------------------------- SETUP THE GUI ENVIRONMENT app = Gui.QApplication(sys.argv) win = Win() win.show() sys.exit(app.exec_())

  • WSDLs generated by Axis2 services can't be read by SoapUI or WSDL2Java

    - by RJCantrell
    I'm converting some services from Apache SOAP to Axis2, so the Java service classes already exist. I created a new project in Eclipse, imported the source, made sure that the Axis2 project facets were installed, and Axis2 emitter properties are correct. Then, in Eclipse, I selected the service class and chose "Create Web Service," choosing the Axis2 runtime. The service is up and running on my PC, and when I append "?wsdl" to the service's path, I do indeed get a WSDL that I save locally. Attempting to import this into SoapUI to build a client gives the error: ERROR:org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: C:\projects\soapUI\Axis2\DALService.wsdl:0: error: src-resolve: type 'SOAPException@http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' not found. The type it's referring to (SOAPException) is a holdover from the Apache SOAP services, and in the service code, I changed all "import" references in the service code (not the WSDL) from org.apache.soap.SOAPException (the old Apache SOAP package name) to javax.xml.soap.SOAPException (the Axis2 location). The code compiles and works, once I can access it, but I can't access it without generating a client. Any thoughts as to why changing the namespace of an object would keep the generated WSDLs from having the proper namespace references?

  • little more help with a CATiledLayer

  • Does Django cache url regex patterns somehow?

    - by Emre Sevinç
    I'm a Django newbie who needs help: Even though I change some urls in my urls.py I keep on getting the same error message from Django. Here is the relevant line from my settings.py: ROOT_URLCONF = 'mydjango.urls' Here is my urls.py: from django.conf.urls.defaults import * # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Example: # (r'^mydjango/', include('mydjango.foo.urls')), # Uncomment the admin/doc line below and add 'django.contrib.admindocs' # to INSTALLED_APPS to enable admin documentation: #(r'^admin/doc/', include(django.contrib.admindocs.urls)), # (r'^polls/', include('mydjango.polls.urls')), (r'^$', 'mydjango.polls.views.homepage'), (r'^polls/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.index'), (r'^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.detail'), (r'^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/results/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.results'), (r'^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/vote/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.vote'), (r'^polls/randomTest1/', 'mydjango.polls.views.randomTest1'), (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), ) So I expect that whenever I visit http://mydjango.yafz.org/polls/randomTest1/ the mydjango.polls.views.randomTest1 function should run because in my polls/views.py I have the relevant function: def randomTest1(request): # mainText = request.POST['mainText'] return HttpResponse("Default random test") However I keep on getting the following error message: Page not found (404) Request Method: GET Request URL: http://mydjango.yafz.org/polls/randomTest1 Using the URLconf defined in mydjango.urls, Django tried these URL patterns, in this order: 1. ^$ 2. ^polls/$ 3. ^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/$ 4. ^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/results/$ 5. ^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/vote/$ 6. ^admin/ 7. ^polls/randomTest/$ The current URL, polls/randomTest1, didn't match any of these. I'm surprised because again and again I check urls.py and there is no ^polls/randomTest/$ in it, but there is ^polls/randomTest1/' It seems like Django is somehow storing the previous contents of urls.py and I just don't know how to make my latest changes effective. Any ideas? Why do I keep on seeing some old version of regexes when I try to load that page even though I changed my urls.py?

  • Single player 'pong' game

    - by Jam
    I am just starting out learning pygame and livewires, and I'm trying to make a single-player pong game, where you just hit the ball, and it bounces around until it passes your paddle (located on the left side of the screen and controlled by the mouse), which makes you lose. I have the basic code, but the ball doesn't stay on the screen, it just flickers and doesn't remain constant. Also, the paddle does not move with the mouse. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I just can't figure it out. Help please! Here's what I have: from livewires import games import random games.init(screen_width=640, screen_height=480, fps=50) class Paddle(games.Sprite): image=games.load_image("paddle.bmp") def __init__(self, x=10): super(Paddle, self).__init__(image=Paddle.image, y=games.mouse.y, left=10) self.score=games.Text(value=0, size=25, top=5, right=games.screen.width - 10) games.screen.add(self.score) def update(self): self.y=games.mouse.y if self.top<0: self.top=0 if self.bottom>games.screen.height: self.bottom=games.screen.height self.check_collide() def check_collide(self): for ball in self.overlapping_sprites: self.score.value+=1 ball.handle_collide() class Ball(games.Sprite): image=games.load_image("ball.bmp") speed=5 def __init__(self, x=90, y=90): super(Ball, self).__init__(image=Ball.image, x=x, y=y, dx=Ball.speed, dy=Ball.speed) def update(self): if self.right>games.screen.width: self.dx=-self.dx if self.bottom>games.screen.height or self.top<0: self.dy=-self.dy if self.left<0: self.end_game() self.destroy() def handle_collide(self): self.dx=-self.dx def end_game(self): end_message=games.Message(value="Game Over", size=90, x=games.screen.width/2, y=games.screen.height/2, lifetime=250, after_death=games.screen.quit) games.screen.add(end_message) def main(): background_image=games.load_image("background.bmp", transparent=False) games.screen.background=background_image paddle_image=games.load_image("paddle.bmp") the_paddle=games.Sprite(image=paddle_image, x=10, y=games.mouse.y) games.screen.add(the_paddle) ball_image=games.load_image("ball.bmp") the_ball=games.Sprite(image=ball_image, x=630, y=200, dx=2, dy=2) games.screen.add(the_ball) games.mouse.is_visible=False games.screen.event_grab=True games.screen.mainloop() main()

  • pyqt QTreeWidget setItemWidget dissapears after drag/drop

    - by mleep
    I'm trying to keep a widget put into a QTreeWidgetItem after a reparent (drag and drop) using QTreeWidget.setItemWidget() But the result, if you compile the following code - is that the widget inside the QTreeWidgetItem disappears. • Matplotlib pick event order for overlapping artists

    - by Ajean
    I'm hitting a very strange issue with matplotlib pick events. I have two artists that are both pickable and are non-overlapping to begin with ("holes" and "pegs"). When I pick one of them, during the event handling I move the other one to where I just clicked (moving a "peg" into the "hole"). Then, without doing anything else, a pick event from the moved artist (the peg) is generated even though it wasn't there when the first event was generated. My only explanation for it is that somehow the event manager is still moving through artist layers when the event is processed, and therefore hits the second artist after it is moved under the cursor. So then my question is - how do pick events (or any events for that matter) iterate through overlapping artists on the canvas, and is there a way to control it? I think I would get my desired behavior if it moved from the top down always (rather than bottom up or randomly). I haven't been able to find sufficient enough documentation, and a lengthy search on SO has not revealed this exact issue. Below is a working example that illustrates the problem, with PathCollections from scatter as pegs and holes: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt import sys class peg_tester(): def __init__(self): self.fig = plt.figure(figsize=(3,1)) self.ax = self.fig.add_axes([0,0,1,1]) self.ax.set_xlim([-0.5,2.5]) self.ax.set_ylim([-0.25,0.25]) self.ax.text(-0.4, 0.15, 'One click on the hole, and I get 2 events not 1', fontsize=8) self.holes = self.ax.scatter([1], [0], color='black', picker=0) self.pegs = self.ax.scatter([0], [0], s=100, facecolor='#dd8800', edgecolor='black', picker=0) self.fig.canvas.mpl_connect('pick_event', self.handler) plt.show() def handler(self, event): if event.artist is self.holes: # If I get a hole event, then move a peg (to that hole) ... # but then I get a peg event also with no extra clicks! offs = self.pegs.get_offsets() offs[0,:] = [1,0] # Moves left peg to the middle self.pegs.set_offsets(offs) self.fig.canvas.draw() print 'picked a hole, moving left peg to center' elif event.artist is self.pegs: print 'picked a peg' sys.stdout.flush() # Necessary when in ipython qtconsole if __name__ == "__main__": pt = peg_tester() I have tried setting the zorder to make the pegs always above the holes, but that doesn't change how the pick events are generated, and particularly this funny phantom event.

  • Another BC30002: Type is not defined.

    - by brett
    Here's what I've done... I used wsdl.exe to create a .cs class for my wsdl service connection. I made a Visual Studio project to compile the .cs into a dll having namespace CalculatorService (CalculatorService.dll). Successful thus far. I created an asp.net project added my namespace import: %@ Import Namespace="CalculatorService" % I right-clicked on the project, clicked Add Reference, found my .dll, added it, built the project, checked /bin to ensure my dll was there (and it was). % 'I called the namespace:' Dim calcService As New CalculatorService.CalculatorService() 'called the function from the service' Dim xmlResult = calcService.GetSVS_ItemTable_XML("", "", "", "", "", "") 'printed the result' Response.Write(xmlResult) % All is well LOCALLY while debugging. It found the CalculatorService, connected to it, got the XML and displayed it. I then wanted to put it on the web so I built and published my project: under "Copy" - Only files needed to run this application...selected! Deploying on the web says Type 'CalculatorService.CalculatorService' is not defined. Here is a link to the live script: http://vansmith.com/_iaps.wsdl/pub/Default.aspx Any ideas?
